146.0 this morning at 6:00. I knew it was too good to be true... :/ Jut have to keep working at it. This is DAY 19 of my streak. Walking w/DH this morning then yoga w/DDD and trainer at 10:00. Then to the store for ingredients for "Sweet Potato 'Pasta'" Bake" if I can lower the sodium in it. Right now the recipe is too high for DH to eat. We'll see what I can do with it. :p

Holding at 172.5. Low 70's are not as scary. Re-establishing some good habits.
    • Reading Labels: Discovered non-dairy creamer has ten x's as many calories as non-dairy milk in my coffee - so switched to only 1 Tbsp creamer and 1/2 C milk - 35 calories.
    • Portion Control & Avoiding Mindless Nibbling: Instead of grabbing the bag of corn/rice cakes & banana chips (paula candy) - just taking one cake and no chips.
    • Stopping At Night: Using questions (1) "If your baby's life depended on it, could you stay away?" (2) "Are you actually hungry? (Really!!??, Then why are you reaching for junk food?)" (3) Why don't you try a glass of water instead? (4) Seriously think, can't it wait a couple hours?
    • Tracking: Actually, it's kind of fun to see it stay under 1200 when I stop nibbling.
Desperation is an incredible motivator. Sometimes it takes the cold splash of reality, like having your seams rip.

Kathy I am so sorry to hear that. But glad she is home resting. :flowerforyou: And I have to say you are amazing for not binging at a time like that. o:)

So I went mean shopping. Went to a place called Buckles. I wanted some jeans like the ones a friend wears. I did not look at the prices. I about died when 3 pairs rang up at over $400 dollars. Almost $500 before the veterans discount! I knew they were probably spendy but I about died. But are they kewl. I have never been one to like shopping. But did I feel special. o:)

    You can do this, Clara!

Now, if my body would only cooperate with my mind right now...well, my belly is shrinking a little. :p

174 today, boy do I bounce. This is probably because I ate late and weighed early. Made meatloaf yesterday, which is good because there is something good available, bad because the voice sometimes tries the "it's ok to eat cuz it's a good thing" trick, trying to make me ignore the "but I don't need it" part of the argument.

145.4 **maybe** this morning at 5:45. It would be really nice if that worked out to be a good number. We'll see.

DAY 22 of my streak. Made Spicy Goulash yesterday. Way, way too spicy for everybody!! Going to try again today and will calm it down a bunch. I'll let you know how it turns out.

146.2 at 4:00 this morning. MAN!!! I cannot wait for summer. I'm tired of being cold. I know that is excessive whining for a California girl, but I love sunshine. Walking w/DH this morning, picking up R&B at 7:45 a.m., working w/trainer and shopping for goulash ingred this afternoon. Did not do goulash yesterday...went to the doc's instead. She looked at some dark spots on my back...told me I have barnacles! bwahahaha! Asked her if my exrays showed I was really a mermaid. Barnacles never turn into anything bad. Also told her menopause should be a cuss word. She laughed...she thinks I'm funny!! :D

Please skip all this blathering if there is too much to read. ((never knew what is or is not interesting...))

173# this morning. Being out of the house 8am-11pm yesterday did?/did not? help. Almonds and apple juice for dinner - the gas station's best offering :ohwell: - at least I didn't use "stranded" as an excuse to eat Oreos and Potato chips.

Took AAA 4 hours to pick me up. Chris thanks for helping make the time fly.

Off work this morning figuring out car shop logistics. Hard to coordinate transportation when you live in the mountains. Reminds me of the riddle below. How to get me and my car between the mountains and the bay without me having to walk twenty miles.

By the way, I was pacing 3of4hrs at the gas station :) and visiting with a really nice attendant, Samiel from Nepal. His business was ruined in an earthquake a year ago so the US gave several Nepalese special dispensation to come to the US for a few years to find work. His wife and 12yr old daughter Suryodaya (sunrise) are still in Nepal with his parents. He's supporting them all. They visit via Skype. Thank goodness for Skype. Can you imagine?
    Here's the riddle:

Once upon a time a farmer went to a market and purchased a fox, a goose, and a bag of beans. On his way home, the farmer came to the bank of a river and rented a boat. But in crossing the river by boat, the farmer could carry only himself and a single one of his purchases: the fox, the goose, or the bag of beans.

If left unattended together, the fox would eat the goose, or the goose would eat the beans.

The farmer's challenge was to carry himself and his purchases to the far bank of the river, leaving each purchase intact. How did he do it?

So, can you get me to Half Moon Bay without my car and home again? Answer: I'm going to ride with the tow-guy and rent a car. But that's only cuz my fox stayed home.

Chris, I think you're funny too. (a lot)

Kathy, I'm jealous of how well you're losing weight!!!!!

Take the goose over...comeback get the beans, cross the river, drop off the beans, pick up the goose, cross back over, drop off the goose, pick up the fox, take the fox across then go back and get the goose.

Sorry it took AAA so long to get to you yesterday, Paula. Sounds like you made a pretty nice friend tho. Good choices on your dinner. The other stuff would have hurt your tummy. Hope you get your car stuff worked out. I really, really dislike car stuff. (***There was a rule in our house when the kids were growing up...they could not use the word "hate" or "stupid." They had to find a different way to express themselves.***)

178.0 this morning. Unfortunately the weight loss is not totally due to hardwork. Aftermy fathers treatment on Thursday and my mother’s surgery Friday, I began to have severe back pain on my left side. My sister came to the hospital that night and insisted I go home. I woke up the next day in agony. After 4 doctor’s visit and a CT scan e erveryon thought it was kidney stones. But the CT scan and back negative. After another Terri le night I woke up with a raised rash on my left side and back. I knew immediately...Shingles. My mother had it Christmas 2016 and was in pain for about 2 weeks before the rash came out.

Went back to the doctor that same day and I’m on 5 prescriptions. I’m already feeling better and the pain has subsided tremendously. So the weight loss is due to not being able to keep anything down for 4 days. I’m sure some of this will come back when I can eat again.hopefully I can keep some off.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to let y’all know what’s going on. Additionally although a virus, Shingles can be brought on by stress. That’s what the doctor believes happened to me.

145.8 this morning at 5:00. Early R&B p/u, so no walking. Meet w/our trainer at 1:00. Day 25 of my streak...still Jonesing for junk.

My best friend's DH passed away yesterday. I'm so sad for her. He had a very rare cancer that was not curable. So damn sad.

Kathy that is awful. I have heard so much about shingles and getting the shot for them. Did you get inoculated against them ever? Just wondering if it is effective and maybe I should get one before I end up in the same pain as you. So glad you are feeling a little better now. And I love the weight lose you had no matter how you got there. I remember weighing that before I went to the academy the second time about 6 years ago. Get well.

Chris that is very sad. Always sad to lose someone that close.

Kathy, I hope you get over the shingles quickly. My DH had them on his back. Said they were horrible. I'm so sorry you got them. His mom had them on her face. Nasty stuff. Got my shot for them.
