Yesterday morning, Rose & I met @LoraineGB & her husband, Larry at the cafe in our Las Vegas hotel. We had a delightful conversation and so enjoyed sharing about our families and past experiences. Loraine is from the U.K., we say Great Britain or more often, England. She met Larry at a company training conference in the USA, and fell in love. They seem to still be very much in love and are both very gracious. Loraine said that there is a National Health Service motto which states,” A body in motion stays in motion.”
That is one of the experiences that we hope to share with all UAC members. Every day exercise will keep you in good health and avoid the decrepitude of the aging process.
Many of you do strenuous exercise and that is wonderful. But if strenuous exercise is too much for you, no worries! If you walk 3-5 Days per week and add 2 days of body weight exercises, you will push back 70% of aging issues!
That is a promise!!15 -
So cool you were able to meet! Great pic2

Well I'm happy because I was feeling sick last night when I went to bed, still not well when I got up but I dragged myself to the gym anyway. And during the course of the first workout then the morning at work I got always better. I'd feel stupid now to have wasted a workout for nothing since I was going to get better anyway.5 -
@RangerRickL - Love the picture and that you guys got to meet!
Also love the quotes:RangerRickL wrote: »"A body in motion stays in motion."

Fabulous you were able to coordinate your meet-up. We will be in England in June, spending 4 days in London prior to a cruise that leaves from Southampton.4 -
March is proving to be a challenge for me. 6 days in an fi am already using pass day #3.
I’ve pinched a nerve in my shoulder (I think...), have aggravated my childhood glandular fever, and am struggling to find any routine.
I’m keeping going, but will be surprised if I don’t need more pass days this month!

@lemmyhead so sorry you're suffering, it sounds dreadful. Not an expert, but from what I remember of people with glandular fever it is important to rest and not overtax your immune system. Take care of yourself.6 -

I am totally biased in the fact London is my favourite city, there is so much to see an do. I was born, raised and lived there until I emigrated in 2010.
Southampton is steeped in history and you can still see many of the city walls (they do have guided tours). Another interesting fact is Southampton has double tides!
How fabulous to be going on a cruise!1 -

I have only reach the official ‘winners circle’ once since joining UAC. However, the fact I check in every day, pass or not, is my own personal winners circle!9 -

@RangerRickL I’m so glad you shared this. I found it really interesting and as I’m of the age where it’s really important to invest in my health and well being for retirement, I am changing my activity habits. While walking is my thing, it is time to switch it up. I am going to introduce body weight exercises on Saturday and Wednesdays. I am also going to pump up my Swiss ball and see if I can sit on it to tie my shoes without falling off!

Yes x 3 today - spent an hour cleaning the horses' stalls, feeding, etc. And had a good walk. Icy but beautiful sunshine today.
I'm heading south to the USA tomorrow (central Massachusetts). My dad is turning 90! I'm leaving a day early to miss driving in the upcoming snow storm. That's one more day not at home and I hope to make it through to Sunday without all pass days! He has a fabulous dog I always take for long walks, and I'll bring my TRX along so I don't backslide. But keeping food and drink reasonable may be tricky. I'll log it all, promise. It will be great to see my kids, sibs and nieces all at once. Not to mention my hilarious old man!5 -
Feeling better today! Was able to walk the dog for 45 min.

New steps record for me, 23,536 steps! And I played 2 hours of Pickle ball, with a very significant heart rate. That was after shoveling snow for 50 minutes before breakfast. Possibly overdid a little bit today.

Don’t sweat the number of Pass Days! Get well by giving your body the rest and recuperation that you need. Check in each day and keep in the loop. When you recover, then you can add healthy increases in your daily effort.5 -

Great pic @RangerRickL So fun you could meet up.
Yes x3. 45 minutes of shovelling this morning and 20 minutes of body weight exercises and stretching this evening. The snow has finally stopped, now the city needs a few days to get roads cleared. This isn’t on my street but it’s precisely the reason my vehicle isn’t leaving my garage!
