Paula is so funny! <3 I love your self-talk, too. It is so right on.

145.0 again this morning. **sigh** maybe the workout yesterday is to blame. Yeah, that's it.

Early p/u of R&B all this week. Hope to walk after they are picked up.

178 this morning. I did not receive good news last week from the neurologist re: MRI. Unfortunately it looks like at some time and he’s not sure when I had a stroke. I’m shocked because I don’t remember any specific stroke symptoms. He said it can happen “little strokes”. Also there may have been a shingles related stroke. And those were the issues I’ve been having the last month . The balance issues, a little slurred speech and hand tremors. My mom noticed a small change to my face. I think the stress has caused me to overeat thus the small weight gain. I had CScans yesterday to make sure there are no blockages and back to the neurologist on Friday to determine treatment if necessary. I decided to share this with you ladies because you always give great advice and send good , positive thoughts.

It’s important that I take control of my exercise and diet. I can’t put weight back on and I must exercise. I’m hoping to get good news on Friday. Also, I played tennis on Sunday. The neurologist has given approval. All exercise is good exercise. I’m going to stay positive. Been on my bike already this morning. As well as getting back to the plank and arms challenge.

Everyone is doing so well. Take care ladies! Congrats, Paula.

Kathy I am so glad you are staying positive. I have learned a lot about the symptoms of strokes in my first responder class. I am so glad you are listening to your doctor. If you think you are having another one document the time and get to your ER immediately. It is good that you are taking this seriously. I have been looking for you on here for a few days. Been looking for your posts. I have been sticking to our weight lifting challenge. You inspired me a few weeks ago and I have been excitedly looking forward to some friendly competition from you. Did your doctor tell you to keep exercising? If so then we are back on. I have to think that you should be careful until blockages are ruled out though. Kathy you are in my thoughts and prayers. Be well my friend. <3

Chris I think that I put on a little after a big workout also. Maybe all that water I drink. ;)

Tomorrow I get another dental implant. I hope I feel better by dinner. Going to drive to Glenrock for fish and chips from a traveling food truck. It is called On The Hook. Yummy

    @KAR1959 Kathy!

I had a TIA (mini-stroke) also. I had arrhythmia - a known trigger for strokes. Did not know that shingles could cause them. I am on blood thinners for life, which is no problem at all - it is the same as taking daily vitamins. The blood thinners make it so that my blood doesn't clot as well, and so greatly reduces the risk of having another stroke.

For me, having a TIA was a great warning that let me know I needed to take precautions to prevent a serious life-threatening occurrence. Now because of the blood thinners, I will probably never have another stroke.

My stroke didn't have any lingering side effects at the time. (My eyesight went away and then came back a minute later, like someone pulling a curtain across my eye.) But I know lots of people who did, who improved greatly over time. My mom lost strength in her legs and it came back. I hope your symptoms go away too so that you are completely back to normal - but now with the increased awareness that you are at risk, so that you know to take steps to eliminate that risk.

It is so wonderful that you discovered this - the fact that it was so minor that you barely noticed it seems very promising. This may have saved your life.

Derek's cousin died of a massive stroke last week. He was only in his fifties. He didn't have a precursor to warn him.

    Best wishes for you!!!!!!!!!

    Shelley,

Thank you for the encouragement. I hope to share good news on Friday after my neurologist appointment. So far I’m on a daily 325 aspirin. Yes I can exercise and started back with the challenges yesterday. Need to post there. You ladies keep me motivated.

Thank you for the positive thoughts. I will continue to post and stay in touch.

177.2 this morning. Hopefully headed back down. Not going to stress eat because of everything going on health wise. That wouldn’t be smart at all.

170# this morning. The "but you don't need it" argument that pops up as my hand is reaching for food is still helping me stop. The trick is not feeling guilty when I do eat. I think I just need to set a lower goal (currently its 1600/day) and let myself eat good up to that.

Sounds like Zinthroth is courting you, Chris. Do you want us to join? I like being part of the group but it hasn't been the top priority in my life lately.
    • IRL: House, family problems, work stresses, operations, MAC group friends
    • Online: You/Shell/Kathy friends, Facebook, then Ilvermorny...

    Must go get trained now.

Have not tried my computer Chris. Will try tomorrow.

Livermorny is not much fun anymore. Wish we could find one that is. Maybe after we all heal up.

Chris I forgot to try. This really stinks for you though. :s

Today was busy. Made dessert for my grandson. Showered. Then went and helped a coworker and some other folks clean a house. Disgusting! Had to wear respirators. Think of the worse hoarders episode you have ever watched. A local business came in last night and sprayed the mold. They ripped out all the carpet. Took it out in strips. Animal feces was everywhere. The place reeks. They never let the dogs out. Basement should have been filled in and a torch put to the house. Bathtub looked black with a spike coating. There were two cats. No litter boxes! I might go out in a couple more hours tomorrow. Holes in all the walls. Food and liquids streaking every wall. Hard to believe how they live. Took my granddaughter out to work on her bike riding skills. Fresh air! <3 She is getting better. Sure is hard for an almost 13 year old to learn to balance. She is trying though. Shower and rest.

It's alright, Shelley. there are a few folks having the same problem I am. MFP tried to update something and it didn't work so they tried going back to what they had...I don't know. **sigh**

Sounds like you had a smelly day! YUK!!! Where are the puppies and kitties now? That is so sad for them.

We road bikes as kids...learned when I was in second grade...had three sisters and two brothers...we road all the time...I AM DEATHLY AFRAID TO GET ON A TWO WHEEL BIKE NOW!!!! MY BALANCE SUCKS!!! And I am a little older that your GD...***sigh*** I feel her pain. I think I told you that I wanted an adult three-wheeler and my family talked me out of it...still angry about that one. :s

Got a new hanging pot of flowers today...Got any idea what they are??

    obbja6qcn8zp.jpg

We'll be walking in the morning. Hope MFP gets fixed soon.

Thank You! I fell in love with the little pink ones!

145.0 at 5:00 a.m.!! Man! So disappointed. **sigh**

We are walking in a bit then I think I'm going to order a new mattress. Have you heard of the Purple Mattress or the Amerisleep Mattress? DH still has to look at them. We have a king mattress so we can get two twin extra long and they will fit in our frame just right. Leaning toward Purple...$$$ though. We'll see.

Still can't get into my diary on my computer.

176.6 this morning. Went shopping with my bff yesterday for new workout and tennis clothes. Found a really cute tennis skort on sale and I bought a size large that fit and was long enough. Tennis clothes usually run really small so I was very happy. And it was a pretty coral color. It’s nice to wear real tennis outfits now and not just things I had to put together. We got in a good walk while shopping I am down this morning. Raining in Georgia today. We’re going to have to make up our matches during the week. Two weeks until Destin...I can’t wait to sit and walk on the beach. The beaches in that area are some of the ni est is the Southeast.

    Happy Sunday!

DH set up Chrome as my browser and it worked. Paula is having trouble. She's working on it.

We get a new mattress tomorrow. I'm happy. Easier than buying a car...bwahahah!

Chris did you order the purple mattress? We bought one a while back. I think it is just a little to firm. But Rocky loves it. Hope you like which ever you chose. The verbena does well planted in the ground. Is a prolific bloomer also.

Kathy sounds like you have been having fun. Did you get good news from the doctor Friday?

Weight was down a little. Walked the kids as usual. Joey and Libby Lu were running and playing together. :) Cooper is more of an explorer.

I tried FireFox and it worked, Chris, thanks. Back on.

170.5 this morning (yesterday actually, as I'm writing this at 4:15am at night - being still awake). Have ongoing pain, probably sciatica, and haven't been to work in weeks. Frustrating.

Shell, do you have a smart phone? I thought you couldn't text?
