I've been busy having my dad stay at my home while he rehabs from his minor stroke he had, so I haven't been active much lately. I'll see what next month brings regarding me signing up for the challenge.

And now CONGRATS going out to k80flec on making GOAL!

@k80flec - your finger slipped on your keyboard. BWAHAHA! I wish I could come run your half with you, but you would leave me in your dust. I am so excited for you!!!

It was so cold and rainy today I got no miles in. I'm in NY but just as well, because my Florida house was under a tropical storm warning and just received something like 7 inches of rain, so no running their either. Sometimes you just can't win.

@Just_Ceci:She says”Rode up a mountain today” like you just ate an elephant. You are awesome girl. May I ask how long it took you? Come be my ride partner. This is on my bucket list and they got rid of the lottery. My friends say I am crazy. https://www.denverpost.com/2018/02/03/2018-ride-the-rockies/

@lamlam: God bless you lamlam for taking care of your dad. My dad sat and cried today and told me how he is a burden to us and how I gave up my job to be home with him. I would not have it any other way . I squeeze my exercise in there where I can but it is not what I wish I could do. But you will figure it out and right now taking care of your dad is what is best..

@k80flec: Ditto to what Janet said. I would be looking at your vapor trail girl.

    May 27;: Adding 9.5 miles
Not much in miles today as hubby and I worked in a hot, humid old garage scabing 2x4x16 boards along the old ceiling joists for support. Back tomorrow to do a few more.

Starting the month with 29 miles.
adding 29 miles for 29 out of 300.

Adding 7 miles for 36 out of 300.

Adding 32 miles for 68 out of 300.

Adding 10 miles for 79 out of 300.

Adding 7 miles for 86 out of 300.

Adding 11 miles for 97 out of 300.

Adding 13 miles for 110 out of 300.

Adding 15 miles for 125 out of 300

Adding 7 miles for 132 out of 300.

Adding 37 miles for 169 out of 300.

Adding 29 miles for 198 out of 300.

Adding 10 miles for 208 out of 300.

Adding 14 miles for 222 out of 300. Threshold test went well.

Adding 6 miles for 228 out of 300.

Adding 21 miles for 249 out of 300.

Adding 8 miles for 257 out of 300. A flat tire ended that ride really early. Those are the puncture resistant tires I can't pull out on the road. Had to call for a ride home.

Adding 7 miles for 264 out of 300. Tires fixed. Guess I better get replacement before the next flat.

Adding 18 miles for 282 out of 300.

Adding 11 miles for 293 out of 300.

@clepant - Funny thing is, I switched my commuter bike from Gatorskins to Schwalbe tires on the recommendation of the bike shop. I just switched tubes though to a larger size so we'll see if that makes a difference.

So did the Schwalbe get the flat or the Gatorskins?

The Schwalbe got the flat. My Gatorskins are still running strong on my road bike. Haven't had a flat on the road bike in two years. I changed the size of the inner tube on the Schwalbe. I'll see if that helps. The larger tube is a bit thicker and gives some room for flex if something penetrates the tire. So far it's done well. The tire is a 700x28 and the tube was a 700x23-28 so it was at the top of its range. The new tube is a 700x28-32. So far it's done its job well.

That's really admirable of you. Even if it's just a few miles, you should try to get out. Put yourself on the challenge for 20 miles. It will give you a goal to get out of the house on occasion.
