That's the way to do it. I"m about to come up on the two year anniversary of losing the cockatiel I had for 25 1/2 years and it's getting harder to keep it out of my head.
Adding two miles. Usually most of that would be laps before Boot Camp but my instructor went lap crazy today and most of that was in class, either running or suitcase carrying weights. I went big on that and grabbed two 30 lb kettle bells. The guy in the class who's a beast had the 40s.

Today was more realistically my first day of retirement as all of my former colleagues started back with in-service for the next three days. So what do I do...what aI have done every year. I cleaned up the front school sign bed and planted mums for kids to get their photos taken there by there parents on Thursday.

Too much smoke. Visibility was down to 1 mile this morning. Even inside the smoke was so strong your eyes burned. I'm ready for some rain or to move underground and live in a bubble.0

I'm getting in some good bonus miles these days. Rode the stationary bike at the gym another 6 miles this morning. I'm heading off on a lake vacation on Thursday through next Tuesday, but I'll still have internet so I can take a couple or minutes to update here after I'm finished going for a walk or something.

Our air quality index for today 170, 160 is considered unhealthy. Our area and Seattle has been name the 2nd and 3rd worse cities in the world for bad air. I underestimated the bad air and started a ride. I pulled the pin at 16 miles after ash debris started falling from the Canada fires. I am so glad for my turbo trainer!
08/15 - 23.0 miles turbo trainer (smoke coming from Canada, from Southern Oregon and from the east. BLEH!)
08/16 - 23.0 miles turbo trainer
08/17 - 23.0 miles turbo trainer
08/18 - 23.0 miles cycling (smoke be gone for a couple days, it will return Monday)
