Well it was a beach house vacation so most of the food I was able to bring with us, so I was at least 95% prepared. There are always unexpected things that we tend to indulge on when on vacation, but that's ok! Vacations are for splurging a little...wouldn't you say?
Enjoy your vacation and Keto on!3 -
vothenator wrote: »Hi, I started the Keto lifestyle Thursday August 23rd. I am definitely the heaviest (and unheathiest) that I have ever been in my life. I have struggled with my weight and lack of physical activity for my entire adult life. (Do to permanent spinal injury, great love for food, moderate to severe laziness and successful avoidance of reality.)
I have reached the conclusion that I cannot keep doing the same unsuccessful things and expect any change. My doctor strongly recommended Keto so here I am.
I know I’m already late to the challenge but I want to throw myself in anyway. Accountability and all that.
SW: 320 lbs (August 23rd 2018)

Sunday 09/30 - (300 lbs maximum)
We can do it.3 -
My trend for the past few months has been to start the month with a good week followed by three or four bad weeks. So, I’m going to focus this month to start a new trend. I’m going to make it two good weeks in row and build on that. Hope to see you all back here next week when I post another loss and start a new steady downward weight-loss trend headed toward my healthy weight goal.

Hello everyone and welcome to the newbies or comebacks,
Felt off the wagon during labor day weekend and gained back what i lost during August. So starting September, I am back to my pre August weight. Goals for September: Prep, prep, and prep. Buy some keto friendly snacks. Have backup meals for when enable to cook. Try to cook extra dinner to have leftover for lunch. I am still maintaining dairy free. I am slowly introducing back almond flour and coconut flour as well. And I am allowing myself some extra carbs from some fruits other than berries like grapes, plums but just a little and not everyday. I am taking some medicine for my hypothyroidism and hopefully that will help as well. I have just celebrated my 90 days on keto. On to the next serious 90 days.

Hello everyone,
1week in September. Nothing new so far. A bit more tired but there is the change of seasons that always make me kind of sicked. But i am so excited because fall (with hopefully early snow in Nov) is my favorite season. Still hoping to reach my goals by end of year. Will try to do more gentle yoga this week as well.

I KNEW my gain last week wouldn't last! That's one of the many great things about keto. Once you get back on track after a splurge or situations you can't control, just climb back on and ride and your body will adjust itself. This loss is even after a day at the ballgame tailgating and driving for six hours! All I had at the tailgate parties is that good Nebraska beef. Mmmmm!! Pure protein and NO carbs. (Ok, I snuck some potato chips because ... well... I can't resist them when they are in front of me. I NEVER buy them for that reason!)

My goal for September was simply to reach 274 so I could say I was below the next 25 pound mark. So I am BEYOND happy about this loss. I guess I will change my goal to 270. However, my birthday is Friday, and my brother's birthday is Sunday. As the festivities begin, 270 might be a rather lofty goal, but we'll see....6 -

Good to see the scale start going down.
My goal for this upcoming week is sticking with it, keeping my water intake up, and running at least 2 times. Also going to throw the weights in there too.

I was on the road for part of the week, and let me tell you, I have some of the best coworkers in the world. We always go for all you can eat sushi at the end of a project, and I was worried that I will not be able to stay on program. One of my guys, made sure every order there was something carb free for me and even let me eat the fish knowing he will have to eat the rice. Now that is a true friend lol.
Tonight we had a big family dinner. I spent 4 hours in the kitchen cooking and baking. And I did have a piece of cake and I had a little bit of everything but it was nothing crazy (butternut squash, carrots, and some glazed nuts).
My NSV for the week, got some new skinny jeans and I now fit into a lot of things in my closet. So to celebrate my almost 40 lbs weight loss, I bought a new fancy helmet so I can have an excuse to ride my bike.
Welcome to all the newbies8 -

That is rather depressing; yesterday (and through my periodic scale check-ins through the week) I was at 274 - 276.
Though, on the plus side, I had a pretty nifty NSV: I decided to try on a pair of pants at the store last night and put on a size that I have not been able to pull on (let alone wear) since I was a freshman or sophomore in high school. it would be too tight to be comfortable, but they _fit_.9 -

First week was a success! This does not feel real but I am going to keep it up- Still having some trouble keeping my carbs down from vegetables or recipes I am creating. I will need to work on that and prep more.5 -
Fell off the wagon there for a while. I went to Nashville 2 weekends ago and drank/ate everything in site. I gained probably 8-9 pounds from that trip. By the following Sunday I recouped all but 1 of those pounds so that was good progress.
I continued to break through that and ended up being 2 pounds from my goal weight I set back in July of 265lbs (50 total pounds lost). Now my upcoming trip to Disney this weekend will be a rough one. We have many celebrations and I'm not going to hold back from enjoying myself up there. I still think I can hit my goal in a week or so.
I think I'm getting to the point where I need to stop concentrating on losing the weight and start to concentrate on bulking a little. If I was at my current weight but more lean, that would be ideal.

Arrived at my MIL's home for a week and a half visit. She made biscuits and gravy with eggs this morning (she wasn't aware of my doing keto). I had less than half a biscuit, not a lot of gravy, and focused on eggs. I think, so long as I watch it the rest of the day, I won't be knocked off track.
She's told me to let her know what I can eat when we discuss meals, and she will ensure there is something for me (yay!). Thankfully, I'm past the point where I crave carbs, so it doesn't bother or tempt me when others are partaking.7
