    @kar328 - I also did a 5 mile race this morning, not my fastest, but I’m very pleased with my time!!

    The last couple of days have been busy but enjoyable. Both of our sons (& the our oldest sons son) were here hunting. Never found the right size buck so "nothing" was shot. It seemed like they were in & out throughout they day eating & taking short naps etc. They let the new hunter who is almost 12 skip school tomorrow to go out another day with our son from Arkansas. He's a good student so he gets to hunt again. I washed all outside windows, cleaned the flower beds & loaded all garden foliage & took it to the pasture. Took my fur babies for a 3.5 mile walk & then baked an apple pie for after dinner. It was a blessed day & we gave thanks!!

    @Lisah8969 Thanks, it is. And I get to remember it with every step I take today - I'm sore.

    Adding 2.4 miles. My trainer, who I did the race with, and is also my Monday morning Boot Camp instructor said she wouldn't have a running themed class. She lied. And I whined.

    @kar: Congrats on completing your race and not doing more harm to your Achilles.
    @vhuber: I was motivated by all your energy that I stayed up till 3am and cleaned. Just in that mood and couldn’t stop till I dropped. Went for two good walks today and yesterday. I went back to my school for the first time and was a mystery reader for a second grade class.It was bittersweet. So many hugs from my former students.Came home and did more cleaning and some cycling. Phew....bed looks good and.......I made goal.

    22nd: 3 miles, Pilates (a slow day) - MTD 120.36
    23rd: 7.43 miles, 0.31 m swimming, 3.12 m club run, 4 m purposeful walking - MTD 127.79
    24th: 4 miles - another slow day with grandbabies and a sports massage - MTD 131.79

    @kar328 - post run tiredness and I forgot my manners. Well done you for meeting your 5 mile race goals and excellent news that the Achilles behaved itself ... had it occurred to you that your trainer might have psychopathic tendencies. I had a post run sports massage Wednesday. IT band in good shape, quads .... in need of some release (despite a Pilates class on Monday).
    @Belle_74 - hope the heel and calf are responding to lots of gentle stretching and ice.
    @clepant - it does sound like a bittersweet day. Any link to that and your cleaning frenzy?? *hugs* the early months are the hardest, particularly as you drift past the “oooh, this feels like holiday” stage.

    On the 31st I’m doing an Halloween 5k ... working on my costume! I bought a boys (13-14 yrs) skeleton one piece which I’ve cut through the inside leg. I’ve bought a gauzy scarf to insert as a godet to give me room to stride and to create room for my running tights! Glam!!
    5 days and 30 purposeful miles to do ... I’ll need to get a wriggle on.
