Okay *kitten* movers, here's the new thread for the December 2018 Move Your *kitten* Challenge!

PLEASE READ the directions below.

We welcome all newbies and welcome back to the oldies!

"Rules of the Challenge"
1. Set your goal and post it to the thread....distance ONLY (Miles or KMs) - NO minutes, NO # of workouts, NO # of calories, NO # of steps - DISTANCE ONLY.
2. Make your ticker if you want to use one (see directions below or in the FAQ thread) or add your goal to the thread.
3. Get moving your @$$ starting DECEMBER 1st.
4. Post as often as you can to the thread so we can keep the sheet (see link below) up to date. You are welcome to report what you are moving each time BUT please make sure you post the TOTAL miles (or kms) moved each time you update.

Please don't post any previous month's miles here. We will continue updating the previous month's spreadsheet using the old thread for approximately the first 5 or so days of the new and current month. Please add only your current month's goals/miles to this thread. Got it?

The purpose is to set a distance goal (KM or Miles) and track your distance for the month - please only do one or the other...if you are doing KM just report in KM - we have a formula in the spreadsheet that will convert it to miles for us.

You are challenging yourself, not competing against anyone else.....the distance can be on a treadmill, stairmaster, elliptical, bike, roller blades, walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming (if you can measure).....just set a distance goal and do the work.

Report to the thread often to keep us updated because we track our info on a spreadsheet (see link below) so you can see how you are doing compared to the group but not to openly compete with them. (Whatever goes on inside your own brain is your own business. )

The idea is to set your goal and reach it before the end of the month.

Welcome to all - new and old.....have a great month challenging yourself!

Link to the Google spreadsheet where you can view (but not edit). The Challenge Admins will update it for you at mostly random times.....but typically at least once a day. Don't hold us to that though.

Directions for making a ticker:
Go to either www.lilyslim.com or www.tickerfactory.com and create a Fitness ticker. Then copy the "BB code" and paste it into your posts on this thread each time you do an update. (More detailed info is located in the FAQ thread on the MYAC Group page.)

Welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay and that you find this helpful in realizing your fitness goals!

Janet and Dave

Happy New Year all. I just realized that @Lovemyalex passed the 49,000 mile mark. Do you realize that is more than 6 times around the earth? That is a lot of miles!

@cpanus - sorry about your ankle. Hoping you are well soon.

@sufferlandrian - I don't know how you do it. Hope you had some time to enjoy the holidays.

    I had a little 3 mile run/walk this morning to put me a 3/75.

I'm starting out with 1 mile but hoping to add some more later, it's 70 outside. I chose a plain ticker this month - took a great yoga class this morning and there was a lot of new start talk, including one about a blank book, which resonated with me. So, starting with a blank ticker and excited about what I can add to it this year.

@cpanus: Chris, I am sorry about your ankle giving you issues. Any new prognosis?
@kar: I like the blank ticker idea! In my case it would most likely mean I am not able to move....lol
@lovemyalex: Congratuations on such an outstanding achievement!
@anaconda: How are you feeling these days?

Well we officially broke the record for the most rainfall, knocking out the old one from 2004 of 57.41 inches. My yard is proof of this. It has never dried out all year.

Thank you Dave and Janet for tracking our miles for us.
    I am in for 150.
I am sure going to drive for 300 again in the next months. My knee feels better than it has in months. I am thinking positive. I want my knee back..,lol, and I am determined to do what ever it takes to get it there.
Jan. 1: Adding 5 miles for two mini walks.Baby steps.
    TTD: 5 miles

I have a quick question. My total miles for all of MYAC is showing only around 4900 miles on the December and January sheet. I knew it took a few days off, but I don't think I went backwards that much :D:):D:)

    Goal: 300.0 miles

    01/01 - 25.0 miles turbo trainer

    Total: 25.0 miles

In for 100 again. Going to start classes "possibly" this week! I was in there finishing up painting on the walls, cleaning down equipment & putting them where it leaves me good room for classes today. Still have the rowdies this evening & they will go home tomorrow but while they were watching a movie I hopped on ex bike for 5.5 miles.

Happy New Year my fabulous MYA$$ friends. I wish you all health and happiness for 2019.

January - my initial target is100, but I may revise it upwards. I’m doing RED January, a project promoted by a mental health charity in the UK. last year it was Run Every Day, this year it’s move every day .... so I may up my running miles.

I ended 2018 with a sedentary 31st ... my birthday and I was at home for visitors. I barely made half of my step target.

However, 1st of January was a good day. I completed a double parkrun (5 miles apart) and did a 5 mile walk ... giving me 11.2 miles .... 26,379 Fitbit steps
