    20th: 4 miles - MTD 104.11

Lovely walk along the Promenade by the Irish Sea. Quite a calm day ... thankfully, as a windchill would have been bitter.

2 mile walk outside. It was cold and the wind didn't help, but glad I got out there.

Tooting my own horn - a local woman who has a successful health blog (and uses MFP) did an article about my weight loss/health journey. If anyone wants to check it out, the link is http://www.michellerogers.fit/2019/01/19/she-did-it-how-karen-lost-over-100-pounds-in-her-50s/ she's also got some good articles on her site covering all topics.

@sufferlandrian - the lake looks so amazing - photo conditions perfect. I laughed at your cycle pic - that takes budget cuts to a whole new level. :D
@JTH11706 - a bit warmer than last year for the Dopey? I seemto remember our club runners sayingit was cold last year ... but that is a relative term. Here in the uk we had been in the grip of ‘the beast from the east’, so they’d experienced cold before they went to Florida. They’re doing Tokyo :):)
    @anaconda - what a glorious sunset
@clepant - the time will pass soon enough, though I know you will be sorely tempted to push the boundaries - be patient, so you won’t be a patient in the longer term. Also, belated birthday greetings, your flowers were beautiful.
@vhuber + @sufferlandrian - uk news has mentioned that you’ve had a bit of snow in the USA
@darkrider42 - I’m so glad the hamstring has improved.

Can I add 30 miles to my target .... this RED Challenge seems to be working ..

It was a fantastic day to go to the beach. Now we have had straight rain ever since.

Jan. 20: Our church was canceled, probably the second time in my entire 40 years of attending due to the weather. We did not get the snow amounts they predicted but we got so much rain,
and then snow on top. Messy.
Adding 18.25 miles today of which 3.25 miles walking and 15 miles cycling. It was a good day. Now if my scale would start reflecting it.
    TTD: 216 miles

@k80flec: So good to see you back on. You are absolutely right about not pushing the knee. Biking, stationary, not road, seems to be working right now. I long to run, but I have turned it over to God. It is what he wants for me. I will be happy being active. I am going to ask my ortho doc Friday about going back to weight training and what I need to avoid with the tear. If he can’t answer, I will ask hubby’s PT guy.

adding 1 mile. I was hoping to walk outside at some point, but it's currently 19 degrees out and I'm just not feeling it. Did Boot Camp this morning and am going back in a bit for a TRX class.

@k80flec - yes last year was very cold for Florida. This year the first three races were quite nice - 50-60F (10-15C). But unfortunately marathon Sunday was too warm - it got up to 76F (24C). But we prevailed (with a lot of walking after the sun came up) and had a great time all the same. I am very jealous your friends are going to Tokyo. Will you please report what they say? I want to do it one day. Did I mention I was accepted for Berlin in September? So I'm looking for ideas for a good European trip in the autumn. Congrats on making and increasing your goal.

Janet already updated for today (THANKS! ) so I don't need to do it again. Just going to post my workouts for today and yesterday.

I had a great day at the gym yesterday. I did 6 miles on the stationary bike at my usual level and then did an easy mile on the elliptical. Today I skipped the gym this morning, but *tried* to go out for an easy walk this afternoon. I got just under a mile because I had to cut it short. It was super cold with windchill a couple degrees below zero and I didn't have my facemask here at work or else I probably could've gone a little further.

No worries. That was probably just as well to keep me from overdoing it too soon.

Hope you all have a great day!

    Dave

@Janet - That's great! Getting accepted for Berlin is awesome.

@Dave - I saw your weather for today. It wasn't the temperature. The windchill was awful cold! Like frostbite cold.

@kar328, That was an AWESOME article! You have a right to be very proud of yourself! You have changed YOU is sooooo many ways & that is where you will stay successful! Congratulations!!!

A BUSY weekend & spent the day on "emergency travel only" roads to get home from the city where I did follow up lab work etc. I had to get home to lead my classes tonight plus I have to feed all the kids tomorrow! They did not have school today so I booked my appointment early this morning but then they got 6 to 8 inches of heavy wet snow & it made traveling not so fun!
