@Kar: Is a farmer carry when you haul weights around like a farmer hauls bales and sacks of grain?

I like @sufferlandrian 's explanation, but it's the same as a suitcase carry. I"m here in the south, so that's probably why it's called that. The instructor did offer the option of walking with the kettle bells racked on the forearms. I just snorted. Started feeling the soreness in my forearms yesterday but not as bad as I thought.

@vhuber - thanks  I'm trying. I'm a fan of Ernestine Shepherd and have seen a few videos of older women doing some really badass exercises/lifts this week. I want to be like that.

    Adding 2.4 treadmill miles.

@kar: I am familiar with suitcase carry. I was thinking that you had to place something on your shoulders and carry.

@DINOS - DINO!!! Great to see you!! Wish you would pop in more often, but I understand. You're one busy guy. :+1:

@CLEPANT - My internal clock does seem to be reversed at times. :) Loved the story of the goose and puppy...thanks for sharing!!

I lifted weights and did bike and treadmill walk today. Felt great then, but my knee was a "hitchy" tonight and seemed to give out at random while I walked. :-/ Hope that doesn't continue!

WHISTLES & CHEERS!!! @LOVEMYALEX has just crossed the 50K Lifetime Miles marker!!!

    giphy.gif

It looks like the Polar Vortex is making a comeback tomorrow....hopefully for just a day though. We just got a bunch of snow the last two days and then tomorrow it's supposed to get down to -17F with -34F windchills. BRRRR!! I wiill also be having an MRI on my knee tomorrow afternoon and will get the results next Tuesday morning. Also have to move our sectional couch outside to the dumpster because we have a new one (along with 4 kitchen chairs) being delivered Saturday morning! :+1:

    Stay warm everyone!

@ Congratulations LoveMyAlex! I have been watching your number creep up to there. Awesome accomplishment with two knee replacements! You are amazing!

@Dave, will keep you in prayer. Sure hope it is not ligament issues. My meniscus tear causes mine to go at unexpected moments. I still think I will be heading into surgery this year. The cysts on both sides of my knee are almost worse pain than the tear.
We also will go from 65 today to 9 tomorrow and back to the polar vortex. All I can say is : sbgh6y8gnnc1.gif

I had my dad back in the ER today after taking him there Sat. morning for neck spasms. The nurse gave him a shot in each arm but the one must of hit a blood vessel and caused a hematoma. The pain meds raised his INR and he bled into his arm and hand by this morning. So ugly! So he is off his blood thinner tonight and hopefully his 3.8 will be back in the 2.0 to 3.0 range in the next couple days. Such fun.

Feb. 7: Adding 16.75 miles of walking 2 miles and cycling 14.75 miles on s bike.

@clepant - I love the goose story. Humanity has a lot to learn from nature. I hope you’re seeing an improvement in your Dad.
@dinos - YaY. Fab that you dropped by.
@vhuber - no wonder you’ve felt under the weather. I bet it’s good to know that it’s a little more than just working VERY hard. You put me to shame
@Lovemyalex - *hugs* for your milestone, what an awesome number (and how hard you’ve worked to achieve it!)
