    A Transformed BMcC9 here .... with photographic proof that this is no April Fools Joke!

    I have proof that on April 1 2019, my 700th day of tracked weigh-ins (started back pre-MFP days) .... I am officially 135.1 at 6:19 a.m. No joke!

    I am officially on Transition to Maintenance Eating (an extra 60 calories pre-exercise a day to start, working up to the recommended extra 240 pre-exercise calories a day as I find quality food recipes to switch in)

    In honour of my MileStone, and because I am feeling particulary sleek and sassy about this whole thing ...... my profile pic has been changed from "Pigs CAN Fly!...Just watch me soar!" to "Sleek and Sassy Kitty-Cat"

    I am a great believer in the power of imagery. Something that you can glance at or hold that. by its shape or substance or colour or content, conveys a short powerful message to your sub-conscious mind.

    It could be a post-it note with your next mile-stone goal on it, stuck on your bathroom mirror. It could be a "I WILL fit this again" article of clothing that you check progress against (I had a top in my closet that waited 6 years for me to wear again)

    It could be a favourite meme that is the wall paper on you computer, tablet or phone .... or progress pics, or a graph from the app that tracks your weight trends ....

    Whatever gives you a bolt of encouragement or determination .... find one, invoke it regularly, let us know why it's powerful to you.

    Picture is optional, if you feel it is too personal.

    What helps motivate you? How can you help motivate and encourage other team members? We each travel our own roads, but within this space, those roads run parallel, and we can call encouragement back and forth to each other.

    Let's DO it! Pigs ARE Flying ..... in formation even!!

    I am in as I try to get at least 10,000 steps in. Did this start yesterday, because I have my steps?

    YES! And welcome to the steppers gang - they are something else. Just post your steps for yesterday here any time.

    I'm back from vacation and ready to pick up where I left off. I did put on a few pounds but I knew I was not making the best food choices. I'd like to remain part of the Step Challenge, if possible. Here's to an awesome April!!

    All right - glad to see our great steppers are sticking with it. You inspire us even if we don't track steps!

    All right, Team WaistAways - we finished in 3rd place for week 4 of March. Let's trample that this week!

    NOTICE for new members:
    When I record your weigh-in or steps, I click the "Insightful" button on your message. This lets you know that your information has been transferred to the team spreadsheet. If you ever go back and notice that it is NOT clicked, let me know. We do this to prevent an overflow of messages that make the chat pages too long.

    You can check the spreadsheet any time - the link is on the F2F landing page, and you scroll down until you see the tabs for the teams, and click on WAISTAWAYS to see all our stats.

    It is time to get our step team up and running! If you are willing to track your steps each and every day all month, and get nothing but the support of your teammates and some silly messages about how awesome you are, and especially feeling amazing from the extra moving around - then please post a message here saying I'M IN!

    Last month we had
    @micki48
    @astrue (I think is now gone??)
    @kittu125
    @evangsimmons170
    @reflectionofme
    @sue_01
    @blackbeautysue
    @len1us
    @martinesther88
    @mari_moulin

    So please confirm if you want to continue or not, or if you want to join for the first time - and then track and post your steps. I don't mind if you post them every few days, but it really helps if you are completely updated by the end of Saturdays (or very early Sunday) every week.

    so ARE YOU IN?
    If so, how many steps did you do today? (starting tomorrow is ok too)

    I’m in! Going to beat my steps from last month. However, I did leave my Fitbit off for over four busy hours today. Not sure I can do anything on Fitbit to add estimated steps.

    Hi!!! I'm Janice...50, married, 4 kids!! So looking forward to getting to know you all!!
    Would love to do the step challenge!

    3/31 - 11987

    Welcome Janice! You are added to the step posse - with numbers like that, and the strength you surely have to keep up with four kids, you'll be an asset for sure. Come by with stories, rants, questions, ideas any time.

    Welcome to all our new members. This is a fantastically supportive and motivating group. Looking forward to having you on this journey with us all.

    I’m Michele from North Carolina. 54 with two grown children. I watch my almost 1 year old granddaughter every day, which keeps me busy. This is my third month with this group and I have learned so much. They all have incredible knowledge and experience. I feel after many tries I am on the right path to get to a healthy weight for life. Slow and steady. Progress not perfection.

    My discipline got me to the gym today, not my motivation. And a little accountability with my niece who is also on this team. @AmyRobF

    @BMcC9 Thank you for that video. It was very good. We all know for sure, there is no instant gratification with weight loss and getting to your goal. It takes work. I love your approach to using IGM to your benefit. I look forward to your stories.

    Right now the procrastinator in me is putting off doing taxes. But that’s another thing.

    What do you consider FUN? What do you remember enjoying as a child?

    I like playing games, but my immediate family does not. I have to bug them to do it. So fun. I love travel but haven’t done much lately. I am definitely going to look up those travel YouTube video hikes. Links would be great if you have time. Photography is fun. Gardening is fun. I’ll have to give some thought to how to work those in to this journey.

    For those who would like to "virtually travel" while on the treadmill or elliptical (or stationary bike) .... go to Youtube and search "treadmill workout scenery" or "virtual trail"

    LOTS of choices come up from 12 minutes to well over an hour. There is also a "treadmill tv" youtube channel. While you are watching them, you can check out the gardens as you "go by" or watch for the best "when I'm really there, gotta get a shot from THIS angle" views ... practice training your "photographer's eye" ....

    hmmmm .... taxes ..... do you often manage to get a refund? (and can plan on using part of it for an IGM treat/bribe? )

    Are your taxes straight-forward or kinda complicated? (do you know someone who LIKES filling out government forms, that you could barter with? Like planting part of their garden for them? Or (if you vegetable-garden) supply with some produce or relish or something?)

    @BMcC9 Great suggestions. Unfortunately, we usually owe taxes. Part of the reason we procrastinate doing them. They are not too complicated, just a few tricky parts. I wish I knew someone to barter with that way. Heck, after 20+ years teaching, I could barter tutoring too.

    I do plan to check out those YouTube tours. Thanks!!

    In that case .... maybe "Fear Monster" type deadline will be your best bet for tax purposes ... a "bite the bullet" approach that gets "the monkey off your back" so to speak .... and a not too expensive treat / reward / bribe when it's done? Something IGM can look forward to?

    A virtual run around the city you most want to visit? or go straight from the mail box (or pressing the "submit taxes" button if you do it electronically) to the garden center for some extra-special plant or garden ornament?

    It is the hour of the NAG - bwahahaha

    Weigh-ins are due for the Sunday and Monday people:

    @MrsRecinos0507 Sunday. I know you just sent in your weight probably the day before when you signed up, but that's the deal with Sunday weigh-in. Hopefully you weighed yourself yesterday and can send it? Otherwise, I'll just use your sign-up day weight. Then you're off the hook until next Sunday. The beginning can be a bit awkward, but don't worry!
    @tdrjustus3 Today. Send it in when you get a chance - thanks!

    There are NO Tuesday weigh-ins. How'd that happen? So everyone relax, and post us some thoughts, stories, more about you if you want.

    Well, it's time to head to bed. You should see my work room right now. First of all, it is my practice room, with a grand piano, all my many shelves of instruments, music, books, a tiny desk, music stands, a beautiful window seat with a view out towards our pond. It is also my workout room, so there is a stationary bike, various mats, weights, and a TRX hanging from the ceiling. And there are plants, and a small solarium window where I'll start my plants for the vegetable garden soon. So yes, ALL my work happens in this room. It's big enough, it can take it.

    But right now it is especially crazy. Last week I somehow decided to take the box of old concert recordings from the 80s and 90s (on cassettes!) and figure out what was on them, catalogue them, and digitize the good ones. Of course that means digging out all the old programs. Then I'm sometimes not sure what that particular piece is (some are not labelled and/or I can't remember, and/or I can't find the program), so I dig through all the scores to find it. There are piles everywhere. Tapes, scores, programs. It looks like 15 people are working in here, not just one. I have listened to about a third of them now, and have started a good catalogue. So far I have figured them all out and am having a blast listening to them. The work of digitizing and cleaning them up will be somewhat daunting, and then I have to contact everyone who played with me to make sure they are OK with me putting them on the web somewhere. A lot of them are good enough to want to make public, but everyone has to agree. So in any case, the place is a hilarious mess. I still have room to work out if I slide some stuff around and don't use the TRX.

    Hopefully the messy phase will be over soon. I hate the messy. But I'm having a lot of fun. Good night!

    Traditionally ... Tuesdays are for Talking It Out (especially this first Tuesday)

    This is your cue to vent, to let us know what you find the most challenging, ask for strategies for a recurring or upcoming situation you are dreading .... and also to respond with how you might have handled something similar.

    Do donuts keep turning up in the staff kitchen, or candies on the secretary's desk that you have to pass 17 times a day? Is there a trip or Team Building Buffet Lunch coming up? Is regular exercise (or rather .... not regularly exercising .... or eating MORE than your exercise calories back more often than not) your bugaboo?

    Let us-as-a-group know, and help strategize. Tap into the combined wisdom and experience.

    But in general, through the month, you don't have to wait for a Tuesday if you need to Talk Something out. Any day you need to vent or want suggestions .... that's what we are here for!
