Happy April!! My goal for April will be another 120 mile with strength band 2 days a week.

@knjstolt, on April 10th I did: 5 Miracle Miles, 2 Walk Blasters, 1 1/2 hours in the yard/ garden, more extra cleaning and decluttering.
I only did the 5 Miracle Miles as actual miles. Not 7 miles :noway: . Leslie's Walk Blasters are 10 minutes mini walks from the Mix & Match Walk Blasters DVD. Each has a different focus like the "Tummy Trimmer" or "Interval Walk". The one that I do most in combination with other walks is the "Flexibility Walk" which is a short cool down walk and different kinds of stretches. Sometimes I add the "Light Walk" if I want some extra walking before stretches or a longer warm up before the actual Walk I'm going to do. Various DVDs don't have adequate/ or enough for me stretching time, or when I do a YouTube set of walks, I do additional stretches either on my own or with the Flexibility Walk Blaster. I can't do more than 5 miles in one day. At 68 years old I'm not even going to attempt it :laugh: . Oh, no! Definitely not me .
@knjstolt, PS: You sure are doing great with all of your walking and gardening etc! AND the miles used while mowing your grass! Now that is amazing that one is able to track miles while mowing. I liked the post on our news feed where you showed us how it was done. Amazing technology!!!

@AnnofB, You are doing great combining strength and walks. Well done! My son and his family live in your state and they've certainly had their share of rain and storms.
@PinkyPan1, you are doing some amazing golfing mileage! And awesome Gazelle workouts.
@zichab, I couldn't believe it when I heard that snow was happening in some states including your state again! Good observation and great plan for changing up your walking days to compensate for the trend that you are seeing. I must've missed that Leslie blog post to change out athletic shoes :noway: every 3-6 months. I'd have to plant another money tree in my garden .
We had mid 90 degree days last week, then it dropped to the low 40s. Now back to the 80s. The oak pollen has been really high this year also. But today was lovely so I probably overdid it on the yard clean up, but after the weekend storm and winds I had to get out there and bag it up for trash pickup tomorrow. Then I just kept finding something else to do it was so pleasant out there today. Tomorrow I'll get back to the spring garden work and put out more mulch and more clean up and weed in the garden also. We might have more rain this week.
My April goal: to exercise at least 5 days a week.

April 8: 2 mile U5DWP, blue miles, 1 Walk Blaster and 15 minutes outside walking. Plus cleaning and decluttering
April 9: 4 Miracle Miles, 2 Walk Blasters, extra cleaning and decluttering in guest room
April 10: 5 Miracle Miles, 2 Walk Blasters, 1 1/2 hours in the yard/ garden, more extra cleaning and decluttering
April 11: more than 3 hours, some garden work, mopped all the floors and moved the furniture and more deep cleaning

I did Winsor Pilates tonight which I used to be able to do easily...well, it hurt a lot! Amazing while I'm cranking out the miles, muscles are losing strength in other ways. How to find time to get it all done??4 -

@texasgardnr I have to do several videos too 1 video is not enough miles and I always do a few more mins of cool down walking and stretching before getting in the shower. My heart rate only comes down about 1/2 by the time Leslie is ready to stretch. I have a metal knee so getting on the floor do to floor exercises are impossible for me. I still can't put that much pressure on that knee. After 2.5 yrs it is maddening. I want to be able to do the floor for the abs but have to work on them other ways. I am not far behind you in age, only about 8 yrs. but we are doing GREAT for old gals.... LOL WALK ON MY SISTER2

@annofB I know... It is upsetting to find out you don't have the strength you once did for certain workouts. I'm sure we can get there again, I'm just having trouble finding time with all the walking I do!
@texasgardnr and @knjstolt I also like additional cool down time and stretching. I like more time spent on stretches because my calves really get knotted up! I really like the ones where she does shoulder rolls and yoga types of moves. I am known to pop out a DVD after a long walk and put in a different one just to get a better stretch. I also prefer calmer music for my cool down, otherwise my feet want to keep walking fast! :laugh:3 -

I did Pilates again tonight and I think it was harder this second time! I forced myself to finish, but it was really challenging and my thighs and glutes were screaming!

Walk Slim 3 Fast Miles was the first DVD that I was able to keep up and finish straight through a 3 mile walk! I had borrowed it first from the library then I found mine on eBay because I liked it so much. You got an amazing deal on yours!!!

Thanks Mary-I am in training to keep up with my 5 year old granddaughter, who my son says "Does not listen!" Hmmm, he's 38 and still has this problem! :laugh: I also need to walk my 1 month old grandson around the canals, so I need to be in great walking shape! The more miles, the better!

Walk Slim 3 Fast Miles was the first DVD that I was able to keep up and finish straight through a 3 mile walk! I had borrowed it first from the library then I found mine on eBay because I liked it so much. You got an amazing deal on yours!!!
Thanks @texasgardnr! I don't know if it is determination or stubbornness to stick with the Pilates! :laugh: I am loving the 3 Fast Miles, it's a great calorie burn and fun music! In fact, I have really enjoyed every one of the Walk Slim series that I've tried. They're much faster than some of her newer ones. The 3 Fast Miles also came with 2 Miles Fast Start which Leslie says is for beginners...but oh my goodness, if that would've been my first Leslie walk, I may have given up!

@texasgardnr & @AnnofB -With this walk in both of your line-ups this month, I could not resist it!! I should be grading, but it is nice to walk with Carol and Linda and Jo isn't it. I like the new walkers, but they are all getting so young! Leslie is beginning to look like the "old lady" instead of the walk leader! :laugh:
I did the 2 mile Fast Walk in 30 minutes on You Tube yesterday and all the comments were along the lines of "Glad you are back," "I missed you," "Finally you are back-I am so happy" etc, so she must be scaling back a bit? I use my DVD's mostly, so I did not realize she had been gone.
