@VeggieGirlforLife- You inspired me to take out my Walk Slim DVDs as I have not done them for awhile! They are fantastic walks that is for sure. I have missed them and am going to add them to my rotation again so thanks!

@AnnofB, thanks Ann, This year the garden is really turning out to be quite beautiful. It's been four years since I cut everything back and re mulched and did a lot of work on it. Four years ago was the winter when my brother was in the accident, so that spring, as well as the next three spring times I was either still taking care of him or my wrist was fractured, or my husband's medical things or other family things were going on, so the garden was on the back burner. We had three winters with little to no freezing temps so it kept growing rather wild, but colorful. I'd say, with all reverence, that God was taking care of the garden for me when I couldn't. This past winter it did finally freeze back some, and then we had the record breaking high temperatures, then another freeze. So it was really time to cut it all back and let it start back fresh. So it's been a lot of hard work, which is good for me. Much of it has come back, some not, but that gave me extra room to put pansies out, and relocate some plants. We've had an actual spring this year and some extra rain also, so that also has helped a lot. The back fence garden has gone through many transitions and growth from a tiny forgotten space where someone used to have a couple of tomato plants and an huge, really old shed off in the back when we moved in 25 years ago, when the children were young and would garden with me.
The bags of mulch are getting lighter, or else I'm finally getting stronger

@zichab Awesome! I love the Walk Slim series!
Thank you @texasgardnr! and I'm having fun on all these walks!
@Deeder522 Fitbit awards badges, but they are few and far between and they are kinda strange I think. I recently earned the Russian Railway badge which represents a lifetime of my Fitbit distance of 5,772 miles - the same length as the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia. I wish it had smaller goals beyond hourly steps or a daily step goal...I love a challenge!
Congrats @PinkyPan1 on reaching your goal...and with days to spare! Well done!3 -

Lots of paper grading today and this is the end of the long grading sessions!! Yeah!!! The semester is coming to a close and I can walk strong every day now!! I love teaching, but I also love the end of every semester! Tomorrow is my rest day because I will be on campus all day, but I'll be back on Wednesday!

April 20: 5 Miles of 5 Day Slim Down
April 21: 5 Miles Walk It Off, Tone It Up + Pilates
April 22: 6 Miles ~ 2 Miles Walk at Home Super Walk + 4 Miles Fast & Firm
April 23: 5 Miles Advanced Walk + Pilates
135 of 155 miles
Pilates are still making my muscles scream! I'm doing every other day because I'm afraid of overworking muscles and causing an issue, but I'm wondering if I'm spacing it out too much...?
I finally got my hummingbird feeder out yesterday and I already saw a little hummer! And I noticed a bird's nest on a gutter on the front of my house. Little birdie signs of spring!5 -

Hi! Great job with your workouts!
About Pilates. I have been wondering about this too. I looked at Gaiam's website. There's an instructor, Ana Caban. She's been in doing Pilates umpteen years. She said the following. -
"Pilates is safe enough to do every day. Initially you may want to do it every day so you get a rhythm and become consistent; then a good goal is to do it every other day. Joseph Pilates used to say to do it three times a week."
We saw our first Hummer on the 9th! Only had 2 so far, but I expect the others won't be far behind. I hope! A wren has built a nest in one of my potted plants. I hope they won't mind a "bath" twice a week.2 -

Hi @AnnofB! Thanks very much for the info! I will try to work in Pilates more often. I used to do it every night a few years ago. It's the lower body that is so challenging, my thighs and glutes are protesting and it really hurts! I have GOT to get some muscle strength and tone, other than my calves, everything else has become...lose? wobbly? :laugh:3

April 24: 3 Miles ~ 2 Miles of Intervals The Big Burn + 1 Mile Walk with Nadyia + Pilates
138 of 155 miles
Okay, I'm going to say this even though it may be unpopular, but I was super disappointed with the new walk on YouTube and I won't be doing that one again. I was unclear where that video comes from, but if it is part of Walk 15, I won't be purchasing the set either. Nothing against Nadyia, she was great, but all of those videos so far (1 Mile Leslie, 1 Mile Nick and now 1 Mile Nadyia) start out way too slow and have had the same 3 music tracks which drives me up a wall - I can't do them in a row because I would be completely bored with the same music. Also, while I understand the reason behind including people of different abilities in the "walkers" group, I have an extremely hard time trying to stay on step when so many people I am watching have zero rhythm, are too busy dancing or making up their own moves or are just really bad at following directions from the walk leader. It doesn't work for me, I like to see good examples of what I should be doing. Okay, rant over!4 -

Boy, can I relate! I know it gets harder as we age to maintain, much less create more muscle. But I wasn't expecting what muscle I had to simply vanish and be replaced by that "wobbly" stuff! After upping my workouts from 2 to 3 a week, I did lose a few inches. But, what remains in no way looks like muscle, except for my biceps. But, can't even show them off because my poor triceps are hidden deep inside my "bat wings." Ugh! Very frustrating, but I'm not giving up. I may never be svelte, but maybe I can at least be strong!
Keep up the good fight!2 -
