Two questions. Is this group ever going to be more public? Also are there any good other groups like this one? This one doesn’t seem to have the movement it used to have from years ago when I joined under my other name.

We had a Group vote a few years ago asking if we should stay private or go public. The vote was unanimous to stay private. One of the major fears was that haters and trolls would join to cause drama, which isn't unheard of considering such activity eventually led to us becoming private in the first place.Admins forced us private temporarily to stop them from coming in here, to put out the fire and keep it out. We decided to stay private. We can ban from the Group those who refuse to follow the community guidelines and who harass low-carbers in here. Whether or not that is still necessary, I don't know. The Main Forums have improved regarding their stance on LCing since then. While private, people have to be approved to join, and you can't really search in here unless it's public using the Google work around. I don't really have a preference. But like I said, members voted.
We are only as active as our members want to be. Keto is more mainstream now and people don't feel as much need for the refuge we were during the rockier times. There are a billion and one FB keto groups and websites and podcasts now for people to get wrapped up in, too. AFAIK we are still the largest LC group. Some days we are peppier than others. I used to do a monthly challenge, but less and less people started. Then more and more didn't finish so that I was basically the only one posting in them.
If you all want to vote again, then we can do that, but I'm betting there are many members who still want us private. Or we could trial public for a month and then members could decide if we need to close again? We're listening.

I only thinking of the ability to find this group on MFP. Maybe I’m confusing it with Facebook. I knew what I was looking for because someone pointed me to this group, isnit easily findable by the average joe looking on MFP? Other than that I agree why go looking for a fight - even tho I agree low carb has received much more “status” and lessened “stigma” in evenbthe last two years.0

If they know to go to the Group page then we're one of the top ones featured in the left nav bar under "Popular Groups." The search feature on that page to search for a specific group finally works. For now. Well, at least last time I checked...
There are a couple of us who tend to scan the Recent Discussions, looking for those keto/LC folks who are new and c&p the link to this group and to the keto group into that thread. 3
