Sunday Check In
Food - Logged & on track
Water -1.3 l
Exercise - 12910 steps
We are back from our weekend away & I stuck to my plan! I caught a bad cold though & am feeling quite awful. Today is definitely a rest day from exercise and am hoping to try to prep for the week this evening.
Congrats to the Week 2 winners!

Had a pretty good day yesterday,
6,777 steps and only a little over on calories. I need to stick to one snack/dessert per day.
I did better on food choices as had almost no stomach upset/gas. My vegetable yesterday was corn on the cob so maybe that helped. I'm wondering if it could be milk so I have been drinking less of that.3 -
Today's commitment - one dessert unless it's fruit3
-
Didn't paint yesterday. I need the heavy desk out of the way. I noticed they bought a few clothes for the baby. Maybe Friday when I'm home I can get a few more things moved out. I just got back from a walk, it's really hot today but I am not complaining. I'm happy it's not raining. Now maybe we can get the pool opened. Usually we are getting ready to swim this weekend. I really have to get back in the routine of getting up early in the morning. Hopefully with the nice weather coming I will feel more motivated in the mornings.3

weekly check in
User ID: amsandos
Week Number: Week 3
Weigh Day: Monday
Previous weight: 136
Current weight: 139
I am not going to cry and moan. I got the result I deserved. If anything I got off lightly. I had a 2 day migrane and didn't work out and comfort ate. The migrane is mostly an excuse. I got the devil in me again and ate and ate. A minor few things have gone wrong for me life wise. I have given myself a stern talking to and I have decided that the rest of the month is for me to get real and serious about:-
my weight loss
finishing my course
my triathlon training
I will get more out of these things the I put more in. I have been reminding myself of a verse in a letter Paul wrote to the Ephesians or Colossians - i can't remember exactly but he chides them for being luke warm. This is how I have been trying to have it all do it all but in a really laissez faire way and getting no where. Sometimes to succeed in life you need to knuckle down. so this is it for the next 6 weeks until I do my triathlon on the 29th. I am knuckling down. Today has gone really well. I have laid out my running kit for tomorrow. Sticking to the basics
water, sleep, eating to +2, exercise. Good night lovelies. I plan to carve out time to check in with everyone too. I am gung ho!8 -

Daily check in (back at it) for Monday May 20
Logged: yes, over since Friday
Water: not bad, but not enough (I find I need more water in order to make the vitamins I am now taking not hurt my stomach. It does come with strict instructions to drink more water, now I know I need more because I really feel thirsty and need more water even when distracted.)
Exercise: zero (Had a plan, but wasn’t a good one)
Steps: wow, 3,713 lowest ever.
Had a good long weekend with the boys. The boys had a golf day yesterday. And today we had our year end hockey celebration for my oldest’s team, which I organized. I don’t love party planning, although it was stressful, it is done now. No more worries. And no more skipping exercise to get that party done.
We got very sad news today about a friends’ son who died tragically, which derailed my eating (again). My husband and I shared a bottle of wine with dinner, not very expensive, but we set aside for a special occasion. We drank it all, my fault since I suggested it, but life is so short, so we celebrated in a way, we were both upset and sad, but we were both so grateful for what we have in this moment, I thought it is worth celebrating and appreciate today. My standoffish 11 year old may also be annoyed he got too many hugs today from his mom.
I know I went off track this long weekend, so my plan for next 2 weeks: Log every day, get vitamins and water in. Keep working time in for my exercise. Keep planning, keep trying.7 -
Ate a McDonalds biscuit yesterday morning and felt like crap the rest of the day. Plus TOM is looming.
Today's plan:
Stick to the food I have planned
Walk/ jog at least 1 mile
Drink 80 oz water
Black coffee only2 -

@eyesopennow
now repeat today buddy! you made your step goal. awesome!!
@Cafelelia ohhh yea. look at you go. you building that new you and she is awesome!!
@pacsnc6 have you tried writing out your 24 hour food plan and posting it where you can see it everyday? it only takes a minute. you see my food plan above. i write it here and i write it on a sticky note and stick it to my phone. my food plan is aways front and center. it will be hard at first. you are going to really want to snack but just keep reading your note. i promise you won't die or get pregnant. the discomfort only lasts for a little while. find something to busy your mind while it passes. you can do this.
@ljdanny you are right. getting up early sets the tone for the day. get up... make a plan... and go!!
@amsandos it looks to me like you need to really spend some time and journal about why the over eat happened. this is all about changing behavior and it you don't know why it happened in the first place it is really hard to change. i promise you... it was not the devil. you did it. you put the food in your mouth. listen to the phit n phat pod cast from may 11. might help. and above all remember that you are the only you you will ever have. and for crying out loud, smile about it. your amazing!!
@Julie8468 i have to take my vitamins with food or they upset my tummy. and you have been doing really well. you have been monitoring what your doing and you know it was just for the weekend. but remember, there will always be more weekends just like this one. the changes you are making in your life are for all times not just sometimes. and grief is hard but when you apply liquor it becomes harder. and you know what the take away from all this is? life happens and you are an amazing human being. Now, what is your next best step?
@GingerPwr ohhh and mcdonalds breakfast makes me feel yucky too. lol. lesson learned. at the end of the day, do you take 5 minutes to go back over your plan and check things off your list you accomplished? then give yourself credit? it is very motivational to cross things off after completion.

Daily check in Monday
Logged no but good
Water fair
Exercise yoga 30 abs challenge
Steps 5307
We chose to relax yesterday. Lots of reading even a nap.
We started the morning with a heart to heart talk about grief and porcupines. It was really helpful. For our big romance focus we played 3 rounds of backgammon instead of watching tv. Sat outside again reading in the breeze.
I am counting down the days to retirement. Suppose to be 5 more years...but we will see. Really nice to have time off. We sat outside and enjoyed our pasta dinner with Skylynn. Today she finishes her SOL tests. She is staying with us so she can be fully rested and well fed. Made her chia pudding brain food for breakfast.
Saw the first fireflies last night. Summer time is cocktail time. I miss my gin n tonics and Pinot Grigio. I had the teeniest sip of Molly’s wine last night. At goal I will allow myself occasional cocktails but not yet.
@cyndiesstuff really proud of you.
@sleepymom5 I love that you rode your bike to the bike shop. I love the details of your life. Hope your feeling better.2 -

Daily Check in: Monday
Food: didn't log...prob over
Water: 64 oz
Exercise and steps: 20 minute walk and 9200 steps
Sorry I was MIA yesterday but I was super busy. I left the shore and was home by 12, did a ton of errands-mail, dry cleaning, pharmacy, got glasses fixed and went food shopping. Then cleaned the hallway and hall closet and then it was time for dinner. I was going to grill and my nephew said he would. I just love him and his son being here. They are a pleasure to have around. He and my husband made a financial plan for him. He actually will be fine. He has had some bad luck in the past which included getting scammed by someone who was supposed to be refinancing his home. My husband said he is going to be fine. My nephew actually had tears in his eyes and hugged us last night. He didn't know where to turn and said he couldn't thank us enough for letting them stay here. I think the plan is one more month and he will be good to get an apartment.
Today-I need to hit my small goals. The only negotiable thing is steps. If my hip isn't feeling it I am not going to push. I really think it is related to how I sleep. I had a bad night last night with it. I am doing all I am supposed to be for it, I think this will take time. I need to get back into logging food, for some strange reason if I don't log, I don't hold myself accountable. So today I need to log food, drink at least 64 oz of fluid, 8K-10k steps and 30 min walk. I also need to get powder room and back room spring cleaned. Bonus if I get kitchen cabinets cleaned and organized. I can't spring clean in there yet, we had a leak on the opening day of the bar so the ceiling needs to be repaired. That will be a mess so not worth cleaning in there.
OK-I am ready to rock this day! Have an awesome day everyone!
Congrats to last week's winners!! Awesome job!! @cyndiesstuff also got 3rd place over all with percentage lost AND pounds lost! Whoo Hoo!!!
@cyndiesstuff You are doing great!! Look how far you have come. I am so happy you were able to get an appointment with the phone counselor! Sorry I didn't have time to get on again yesterday.
@carlsoda Not a bad weekend at all! What a good idea to listen to the meditation app when you are craving. Maybe I should do the same. It takes you totally away from what you want to be doing...
@Mrsbell8well I hope it helps Molly, it really helped me. It was like having a set time to think about my dad each night. Sounds like a perfect day and night last night. I am trying to think of a cool, refreshing drink without alcohol for the summer. I had that peppermint tea in the winter that substituted for wine, now I want something similar for the summer. Glad you got a heart to heart talk in about porcupines, I think that is a neglected topic Dinner looks delicious and Skylynn couldn't be any cuter!!
@nstephenson01 Sounds like you are doing well being away. Remember the days that we used to go away and just eat whatever? I know that is what I used to do. You are doing great! Don't worry about that scale. It is not your usual one so that makes a difference. You also a retaining water so I bet once you are home and drink your water you will do great. I retain fluid when I travel and fly. Safe travels today.
@jedaschultz Welcome to onderland!! Awesome job!
@kirsten11872 I didn't have the greatest week last week either. Let's kick butt this week!
@eyesopennow I read you hit your goal! Are you going for it again today?
@Shirin_K Keep it simple is right! It is the simple things we do every day that add up! Glad your daughter is feeling better
@Cafelelia Nice job on Vacation! Hope you feel better soon. Hugs!
@pacsnc6 Maybe you should cut out dairy for a few days and see how you feel. Glad you are feeling a bit better.
@ljdanny I swear if I got up earlier I could do so much more! I am thinking of doing that this summer so I can workout before it gets too hot out.
@amsandos I love how you take accountability for your gain AND make changes! I didn't have a good week last week and let a lot of things slip. I am with you-let's rock this week!!
@julie8468 I am so sorry to hear about your friend's son. How horrible. My friend's son died at 17 almost 3 years ago. He died during a sledding accident. It just is heartbreaking. I will keep them in my prayers. On a positive note, I love your plan for the next 2 weeks, I am going to follow your lead and do the same!
@GingerPwr Isn't it funny how once you start eating healthy, if you go back to what you used to eat, you feel sick? That happens to me. Love your plan for the day-you got this!!
@phoebe112476 Awesome loss! You have come such a long way and have been so successful!5 -

Hi friends! Recital #1 is over... I'm so happy it's done with... there's 6 of us at that studio and 4 of them are leaving to start their own studio this summer... and they haven't exactly been handling the situation with grace... It was a very very awkward weekend.
Recitals #2 and #3 are June 1st and 2nd with rehearsals all week leading up.
To throw another curveball... my brother in law moved in with us yesterday. It's just for the summer (he's a college student)... he found a decent job that is closer to us than his parents. It's ok with me.. I just spent all evening cleaning out the guest room that has basically just been storage and a bed since we bought the house in February '17. So I guess it's a good thing since I finally got that turned into a livable space for the most part.
I checked my weight this morning and added it to MFP (I usually only log in happy scale) and it was exactly the same as my last weight on 3/28/2019. Of course I'm not satisfied with that but I guess it's not a gain. I've got big goals this summer so I need to get it together.
I FOUND MY BELLA BEAT! Not really. It appeared on the floor in my bedroom/in a pile of stuff. I still don't know where it actually was LOL but I started wearing it yesterday I got exactly 4,000 steps... mostly running around the office and cleaning the guest room. I'm shooting for 5,000 somehow today!
Working on summer goals on my lunch break today, more on that later Hope everyone is ok.. I just wish it would warm up! It's not even 50 here today.

@cyndiesstuff well done on your 3rd place and I am so glad you have someone to talk through your stuff with.
Daily checkin
yesterday I rocked it. I did a session on my indoor bike (turbo trainer). Went for a quick swim. Avoided the mountain of sugar in the kitchen. I am just firmly telling myself whatever is in the kitchen is 'Not for you'. That seems to be working. This morning I had a bumpy ride I woke up to late to go for my run so I did some study instead. I managed to dump my midmorning snack in my lap. I had some leftover buffet a filo parcel and a sausage roll. Still shunning the sugar though. I am still eating to +2 though.3 -
I’m at the airport ready to fly back home. I must say, I did enjoy much of the great Memphis food and I ate things that I normally don’t. Today is a new day and as @cyndiesstuff said, I just need to get my head back in the game and take care of myself.2
-
@Mrsbell8well I am so glad you talked to molly. grief is difficult. and you are helping her thru it by listening! and Skylynn's face is angelic!! sooooo cute. and your meal looks delish! I just love diet food!!
@phoebe112476 nice loss. how are you doing? are things settling down for you? I have been thinking about you. take care my friend.
@sleepymom5 ok lady. it is time to regroup and recommit to your plan. listen to the podcast above. where is your 24 hour plan? write it on a sticky note and put it where you can read it. you can do this pam. today is the day to stop the back slide and get the momentum moving back in the right direction. and don't you worry about me. you get back to basics.
@Shirin_K thanks for checking in. what happened yesterday?
@DananaNanas phew one down. ohhh no. unexpected house guests. and it really sounds like you need a plan. have you worked the 4 circles of goal setting? it will help you create daily action steps to help further you to your goal. I think it was last months team challenge.0 -
@Cafelelia I am sorry you are still feeling under the weather. hope you feel better soon.
@amsandos Thanks lady!! and the not for you thing works for me at work all the time. I have a candy dish full of yummy stuff for my clients. and it is "not for me". good job on the continued path. looks like you have taken charge of your situation. yes!!!
@lennoncpa yes yes... you are the only you you will ever have

@sleepymom5 I have a big jar of peppermint sun tea brewing on our patio. We love it with ice and mint leaves1

@Shirin_K Don't let yesterday get in the way of today. Hit those goals!
@DananaNanas That stinks about the other dance instructors. That is a shame they aren't acting professionally. Are the other two recitals with them too? I can relate with the boarding situation, I had my niece for three weeks which was awful and now have a nephew and his son staying with us. They have been a pleasure. I hope your brother in law is more like my nephew. I am glad you found your bella beat. I bet you get a ton of steps on your recital days! Hope everything else is going well. I think maintaining is a good thing with everything that is going on.
@Cafelelia I hope you feel better soon. I have been thinking of you with my spring cleaning. I need to get back to the Marie Kondo book and shows. I need to be prepared for my fall cleaning.
@cyndiesstuff It is 5:30pm and so far so good....
@amsandos Sounds like you are back at it!! Good job!
@Mrsbell8well That sounds like a perfect way to bring my peppermint tea into the summer season!!
@twyla77 No worries about the late weigh in. You have a good day to weigh in. Sunday starts the new week so you always have wiggle room. I would call that a maintain, not a gain. Hope all is well. I know you get busy!3
