    Mindful eating results:

    Dinner was amazing. when we started to prepare i was at a -3 on the hunger scale. by time the food was ready i was really hungry at least a -4. i forgot to notice my feelings when i first started. i just dug right in. the food was delicious. my first tostada was half gone before i remembered i was suppose to be paying attention to how i was eating. i have one and a half beautiful tostadas on my plate. the food was fresh and home made. the smell of the cilantro and chives filled the air. the shell was cruncy and all the flavors went together perfectly. i was half way thru my second and i thought i was still hungry. but was i really? i decided to give it a minute and take a drink and ask jim about his day. he couldn't talk his mouth was full! lol. he is such a cutie. i put my fist up to my tummy and held it there tight. i really was not hungry any longer. i ate one more bit and savored every last flavor and then gave the rest to jim. so proud i pushed my plate away when i was satisfied at a +2.

    what this experience has shown me is that food is meant for nourishment but also enjoyment. i thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and it was in calorie goal. if i feel restricted, i am more likely to eat compulsively.

    Instead of saying to yourself, I will believe it when i see it say.....

    I will see it when i believe it.

    I did okay yesterday, but I’ve got a lot of work to be a mindful eater! Today’s goals: Get my water back up to 64 oz, log food and under calories, and 10,000 steps. I also need to come up with a plan for meals for the weekend and next week.

    Have a great Friday!

    I have my little routine on MFP, I look at my newsfeed first, then come on here and make comments on everyone's posts, then I write this above the comments I make. I forgot this was weigh in day when I started the comments so I am going to post about my weight before I actually post my weight Lol! I am up about a pound and a half. I actually never got back to last weeks low and have been way higher too. This was a weird week with the bar opening. I didn't have a plan for dinners at all, I didn't cook once, I didn't log, I over indulged one day and I have been way less active due to my hip. So there are a lot of things I can work on for next week. I also have so much going on, spring cleaning both houses, I will be finished next week in PA, Memorial day we will have a full house at the shore, I am going to Ga to see my friend and Fl to see my Mom the Wed after Memorial day, I am trying to set up a plan for MK so she can manage her anxiety, plus a bunch of doctor's visits and appointments. Once again, I am trying not to get overwhelmed. I am making a plan and sticking to it. I will get it done, I always do. Today, I am finishing my bedroom and bathroom and then the entire second floor will be spring cleaned. Shannon promised to do the 3rd floor and I am going to hold her to it. So next week I have the first floor to do. After I am done today, I am heading for the shore. I will be good down there, I am just going to take the weekend off and enjoy the beautiful weather. I am not going to start cleaning unless I feel like it. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

    @Moarrein Welcome Lilly! Try to come on daily and check in. Even though you aren't in the challenge until June. You are more than welcome to jump right in with us now. Looking forward to getting to know you!
    @cyndiesstuff You are amazing! What an awesome day! You can do this weekend. You have a few good days under your belt. You are always super busy on the weekends between the farm, your parents, prepping for the week and all the other things you do. I know it is more difficult being home but just make a plan. You got this!!
    @Mrsbell8well You are always researching and tweeking your plan. I love it! I am sure that life/work balance will come. You really haven't been in the new position very long AND already gotten promoted. I am sure you will hit your stride with all of it. Hugs to you!
    @lennoncpa With all the traveling you have done, I don't think this is a bad weigh in at all. I also remember you saying you were down a pound so this actually may just be water retention or one of the many other factors that effect your weight. Just think back on your week, if there is anything you can change, do it, if not, don't let it derail you!
    @pacsnc6 Maintaining isn't bad, better than gaining. Sounds like you are doing well so don't let it worry you. Just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will eventually catch up.
    @lenka1 Nice loss! I was just thinking how nice it is to have you back on the team! Hugs!
    @Shirin_K It is not easy! I think it takes a while to get the hang of it. I am working on that myself. I am glad that you are checking in daily, I think that makes a difference. You have really been doing fantastic!
    @Cafelelia Nice loss! Looks like you are back on track! I love your plan for the weekend. It makes things easier. I had a feeling a sports massage wouldn't be the same Lol! I am glad you feel good today.

    I almost forgot to post my intuitive eating for dinner! We ate super late, I was at -4 which is trouble. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that I love. I also had baked lays. The baked lays are also trouble. I actually can eat the entire chicken sandwich and feel satisfied. However, throw in the lays and I really should probably stop at half (I have this meal a lot, can you tell Lol!) . More trouble, end of bag, lots of broken pieces so hard to count out how many chips. So I ate the entire sandwich and chips and thought I was satisfied and not full. However, later I was STUFFED so I guess I ate over satisfied. Then I don't remember if I finished the chips off after....So, I have to get into the habit of stopping at 75%. I have to start leaving food on my plate. Obviously I still have a lot of work to do in this area.

    @eyesopennow I am glad you got an appointment with the doctor. You have always been accountable for gains if it is something on your end. I know it is frustrating to be doing everything right and have the scale not cooperate. Please keep doing what you are doing. Don't give up. Come on here and rant whenever you want. We are here for you Mike .
    @carlsoda . Nice loss!!

    Howdy everyone! Been a crazy few weeks around here - looks like lots of great things happening for everyone. I suspect I inadvertently dropped a lot of water weight this week, I ate less for a few days owing to being on the road and other factors. I've been hitting the weights hard and making progress there, which is really my focus. Onward and upward!

    Thursday check in

    Great day!!!
    14,000+ steps
    Food perfect!!
    Water a'plenty!!

    Today's plan:
    Another day of great food choices
    10,000 steps
    20 minutes yoga
    pay bills tonight (my financial health!)

    We have a wedding shower on Saturday, so I'll need to pre-plan for that. It starts at 11:00 am so I think I will eat a late breakfast and make it huge and fulfilling so I won't be tempted to eat crap food. I'll bring snacks and water. Other than that it will be a very raining weekend here, so no outdoor work. Maybe hit some consignments shops on Sunday and finish up my grocery shopping. Oh and preplan my food for next week....what can I prepare ahead of time to make my life easier?

    @Moarrein - welcome Lily! We're a fun little group here within a HUGE group. I look forward to getting to know you!

    @sleepymom5 - I have a window that needs cleaning if you feel like coming to Minnesota. Somehow our front window has Lucy sized nose prints on it. :) Good job getting everything done and just keep plugging away at it and keep the stress down. Stress doesn't help get everything accomplished!

    @Cafelelia - gosh I so miss living by the great lakes. Yeah yeah yeah, we have Lake Superior 3 hours away and "10,000" lakes in our state but it's not the same thing as living by Lake Ontario or Georgian Bay - my gosh I so love Grey and Bruce counties. That's where my family is now and could easily move back there in a heart beat!

    @cyndiesstuff - well I failed on your challenge yesterday. I did pretty good with breakfast and lunch but failed with supper. Totally forgot - ate supper while watching BBC Antiques Roadshow while eating!

    Hope everyone has a great day!!

    @Mrsbell8well yes!! yesterday was self love at its finest. you have been so busy. good job with your self care in this stressful time. how is molly feeling? it has been crazy here too. as you know. last nite was wonderful. I picked the first oregano that we will have with dinner tonite and the chives were soooo good last nite on my dinner. grab your scissors and come and get some girl. wish we were closer!!

    @lennoncpa that's not bad for the vacation and such. don't let it go to much on this next trip. make a plan lady!! it will be a valuable tool.

    @pacsnc6 maintains are good. you keep working on it.

    @lenka1 ohhh yeah lady!! another pound down. the word only implies it is not much. but in reality it is huge for you at this point in the game. be careful of the words you say to yourself. and smile! you are a success!!

    @Shirin_K sounds like you are going to be busy planning for success. don't give up on the mindful eating. it is a practice. the more you do it the better you become at it.

    @Cafelelia I hope your holiday is filled with joy! watch the extra food but it sounds like you have a plan going in. you are down this week! and that is fantastic. lets keep the momentum going!!

    @sleepymom5 you know there are so many things that play into the small gain. you sodium was probably up too and not to mention the stress! you know what you need to do. did you listen to that podcast? are you making your 24 hour plan? it is easy to slip back to old behaviors. nip it in the bud!! ohhh and your relaxing trip this weekend. what beautiful self care. you deserve it!!

    @eyesopennow glad you have a doctors appt. but in the meantime that does NOT mean you quit what you are doing. you made me a promise. you need to keep working at it.

    @carlsoda woooo whoooo another loss. good job. casseroles are always good. soup. I make soup once a week so if I don't have time to cook, there is healthy food to eat. I like stir frys reheated as well. ohh I love that show. but just because yesterday didn't go as planned doesn't mean your done. you should eat mindfully every meal. practice practice practice.

    @hkfleming woooo whoo you made it to the 170's! that is fantastic!! you keep working your plan girl!

    Mindful eating Thursday:
    I posted about breakfast yesterday.

    Lunch was a Smart Ones pasta - was a little spicy for me and good for something different. I had to eat it quickly because my husband called for me to bring his lunch to where he's working this week just as I took the first bite. He is building a new shed for our church and because of my volunteer activities every day I drop him off there in the morning. Anyway, I decided to cool my mouth with a Klondike bar after that spicy - for me - lunch. Mmmm.

    Supper was homemade meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli. This was the third day in a row that I felt totally bloated after supper. I've been eating bigger portions of vegetables and I think that is causing the bloat. I am sure that I am not eating too much at the meal but the vegetables do cause extra gassy bloat. The meatloaf - about the size of a meatball - was yummy.

    @cyndiesstuff The tostitas look amazing!
    @hkfleming Nice loss! Sounds like you have been working hard!
    @carlsoda I will be right over! I want Lucy to have a good view! Lol! Sounds like you have a good plan for the weekend. Have fun at the wedding!
    @hope002 How are things going?
    @pacsnc6 Maybe you can experiment with the types or portion of veggies and see if that is what it is. I makes sense if it is the veggies since they can do that and you are increasing your portions. Hmmm.....

    @pacsnc6 great job with your mindful eating. many times you get that gassy feeling because of the way the veggies are cooked. try experiment with different forms of cooking. you can boil, steam, fry, and roast. i personally love roasted veggies. they seem easier on my tummy!!

    @sleepymom5 and @Mrsbell8well the tostadas were amazing! so fresh and good for you too. delish!! lol diet food.

    @Julie8468 ohhh yea girl. look at that 2 pound loss. good job. i started my day saturday with a happy dance for you. keep that up.

    @lenka1 ohh i so agree with that meme. and ... you can't out exercise a bad diet!!

    @GingerPwr ohhh girl sounds like you had some serious self love. i hope you had a great time!!
