My strawberry rhubarb tart warm from the oven. My team is already eating it for breakfast4 -

I bought some extra ingredients to make a vegan one for me tomorrow night. I just love rhubarb!
I love rhubarb! My mom used to make wonderful lemon rhubarb and strawberry rhubarb pies. Alas, no one in my life shares my taste for the stuff. Enjoy!

Tuesday Check In
Food - overall good choices except for 1 item which was a bad choice (trying to look at the good hehe)
Water - great
Steps - 10,000+ plus yoga
Except for an afternoon "treat" today was a pretty good day. Started listening to PhitnPhat podcasts - she has quite the potty mouth and hope it doesn't rub off on me as I don't want something to slip out in front of the grandkids , but definitely good conversation happening!
@cyndiesstuff - I would call back to the counselor again since they haven't called you back..even if you need to leave a message. Totally unacceptable in my humble opinion.
@Mrsbell8well - your tarts look amazing - can I come work for you? I am between sizes 8 and 10 and when I was my lowest (137) I was between 6 and 8. All clothes are slightly different in sizing so I guess it just depends on the brand. My body composition is different from yours - I have most of my weight in my stomach area and less everywhere else. I have the bad unhealthy fat I guess
Now...time to work. Greeting to everyone!!4 -

CAPTAINS AND TEAM MEMBERS!
There has been a bad link posted where you can go to look at the MAY Spreadsheets. I just corrected it (I hope!) so all the information should now be visible.
For more details, captains please check the Captain's Lounge thread for my last message. The link is there, and if there are ANY problems, please leave a message there ASAP.
I'm sorry for the problem - I'm not sure where the bad link came from or how it got there, but it should be ok now!1 -
Daily Check In: Tuesday
Food: Logged, under
Water: 86.9 oz
Exercise & Steps: 6 mile hike with the dogs; 23,062 steps
After a morning hike with the dogs, spent most of the day on outside chores. Spring has finally arrived following the winter that would never end. Feeling a little overwhelmed with everything that suddenly needs to be done outside. It helps if I write things down and schedule them out. Keeping active and eating pretty well but scale isn't moving yet.
Been thinking about my Keep, Start and Stop @sleepymom5...
Keep: Plan exercise out for the week and schedule it in my calendar as an appointment first thing each day to keep with myself. Also pre-plan dinners several nights out. In other words... plan, plan, plan LOL.
Start: Getting back into Yoga
Stop: Over eating. Need to listen to my body better.
@cyndiesstuff I still haven't figured out my new "why" other than I want to be thinner and wear a smaller size. Not exactly as powerful a why as my initial why's. Maybe its enough for now... still trying to come up with something ultra-motivating.
Heading out to a yoga class this morning with a new teacher. Not feeling overly optimistic for some reason. She's the owner of the yoga studio after all so hopefully I'll be surprised.
Wishing everyone a good day!5 -
Tuesday Check In
Food - logged and on track
Water - 80 oz
Steps - 30 min walk, 11,229 steps
I am happy I have really been on track lately with all that has been going on. Usually this craziness would be a reason I would spiral downward. I did finally break down and go to see the doctor about this hip. I have bursitis and am on steroids. I have to dial it back with the walking. No more than a mile at a time so I need to keep an eye on my steps though out the day to make sure I am hitting my goal of 10k. I did get MK last night. I thought I would be the only one there at 9pm moving someone out of the dorm but it was busy. I was ready to strangle her because she wasn't completely packed because she wanted to come back today to say goodbye to everyone. I made her finish it up and had her say goodbye while I tried to figure out how to fit everything into the car. I am glad that drive is over for now. I was doing it 1-2x/day for at least a week. I found out my niece is moving out Friday am and my nephew is moving in Friday pm. I actually think that will work out well. I have a plan and now that my daughter is home I think I can do it since I don't have to be worried about having to run out to get here. Driving alone is 1.5 hr round trip. On top of that...my husband's bar is going to open very soon so he has to be up there a lot. "All hands on deck" time. I am so bad on FB, I posted a link to it and then had so many comments I got overwhelmed and didn't go back Lol! My friends' say I need a social media assistant. Lol! MFP is really the only social media I am active on but I have all the accounts Lol! Got to get moving. I have a lot to do in the next two days. I actually have a lunch date with a friend from when I worked in the ICU that I was going to cancel tomorrow. I decided to keep it, it probably would be a good thing for me. Have a great day everyone!
@hope002 Lately you have really been kicking it with the exercise and it must be so awesome to not only see results but to actually be stronger and fitter! You should be so proud of yourself! I get plantar fascitis (sp?) . I find if I wear good sneakers it really helps. You are doing great! Keep it going!!
@amsandos I am in no way and expert but also have problems with sweets. I have been chewing sugarless gum. After a meal, I always want something sweet so lately I have been popping gum in my mouth instead. So far, so good. I know some people don't like that artificial sweetner but I really don't use it otherwise. I still keep track of calories because I have to but my goal is to be able to just eat to +2. I am still trying to find +2, lol! some days are easier than others. You have a good plan and you have been doing well. Keep it going!
@gottagetthisdown Wow! Amazing water and steps yesterday!! You must have an interesting job! My daughter's friend works for the FBI and can't say what he actually does. My daughter was interviewed for his character before he was hired. It was weird having FBI agents in the house.
@cyndiesstuff I can't believe that you are still waiting to hear back. That is so unfair, you are reaching out and no one is helping. Is there any way your primary doctor can speed things up for you? I actually can understand why you are off track with eating. You have so much on your shoulders. I wish you could just be having fun, planning details to the wedding celebration and honeymoon. Just stick with your plan today-just today. You can do this. I am glad your Mom is doing a little better. How does your dad do through all of this? Hope you have a good day, once you have one, it is a little easier to have another. Hugs to you my friend xoxoxo(<--gave you a few extra )
@shirin_K Looks like you are back on track girl! When I see your amazing step count I always envision you chasing little ones around Lol! Let's keep kicking May's butt! Looks like you were the first one to notice that glitch with the spread sheet! Thanks for pointing it out. In my very little computer knowledge, I think we have a different link so we can add to the spread sheet so I guess the captains and moderators use that link and didn't see the one posted wasn't right.
@lenka1 There is something going around. I was telling my daughter in college it was probably allergies and it ended up being a cold too! Sounds like you caught it in time and are feeling better. Hope your little one is feeling better too. You no lifting day seemed pretty hard to me Lol! After leg day I am usually hobbling around for a day or two.
@Mrsbell8well I was going to joke that maybe your financial plan wants you to stay the same size for a bit I know you will figure it out, you always do. Just remember that maintaining isn't bad and sometimes there is a reason. You could be losing fat but retaining water. It could be a fluky hormonal thing... I know you look great, you say you feel the best you have in years and you have lost a lot of weight in the past year. There is no rush, you are doing well, the scale will catch up. I was already wanting that tart even before I saw the pic! Lol! I think you are in driving distance from Philly Lol! Notice how @carlsoda wants to work for you and I just want to eat everything you make and your dad's pinto beans lol!
@carlsoda Lol! Yes, her language is pretty bad but I do love her message. It hasn't rubbed off on me yet. I just hope the more I listen, the more ingrained in my brain it becomes. Also-it is more important to focus on the positives and not beat yourself up with the negatives. You really have been doing awesome!
@nstephenson01 Amazing steps and water. I rounded your water to 87 btw. Love your Keep, Stop, Start! Keep doing what you are doing, the scale will catch up I promise. I feel the same way with the spring. All the sudden you see all that needs to be done. We went to the shore for Easter and I felt like all I saw was all the cleaning and outside work I need to do. I also am better when I write it all down and plan. For some reason I like to freak out first before I remember to do that lol!

@Mrsbell8well It might be your body telling you it is at a comfortable weight. You look great, are wearing small sizes etc. I get it that you want to be at a certain weight, but your body might be telling you something different. We support you no matter what you decide! You are amazing! Also, your tart looks amazing!1

Tuesday check-in:
Food: Calories were under, ate well
Water: I drink all day, I never keep track of my exact amount
Steps: 23,236 - gotta love the elliptical
Hello all! Yesterday was another successful day! I am in the zone! I started the elliptical on level 5, but it was too easy, so I increased it to level 7. I also realized that you can incline the elliptical as well, so I was on level 7, incline 10. Was covered in sweat when I was done. 18:6 IF has been going well, the scale seems to be moving in the right direction. I have a loss, even if it's ounces, every day. I should see another pound or 2 off by Saturday!
@cyndiesstuff sorry you are having such a hard time getting a counselor. Hopefully they will get back to you soon! Hang in there! I have been in the place you are in where you just do not care about what you are eating, it will pass, hopefully sooner than later.
@sleepymom5 sounds like you have a lot on your plate. At least your daughter is home and you do not have to drive back & forth to school. Sounds like you were in the car a lot! The things we do for our kids! One is moving out and one is moving in, you are very generous having all these family members stay with you, I hope you have a big house! Good luck with the new bar, is it in PA?
Have a wonderful day!2 -

@phoebe112476 great job on the continued dedication to your goals. nice loss. I know you think its to fast. intuitive eating takes practice. there is a lot of exercise you can do to help you practice. keep at it. you will figure this out! you look great by the way. nice that you are pampering yourself.
@sleepymom5 I always make a list when I start to get overwhelmed. if things on the list are time sensitive I put that on the list. the other things go on with out a time. I scratch them off as I make my way thru. it makes me feel good to see the list with things scratched off. accomplished. and then I can relax knowing that I won't forget anything. and thanks for the suggestion about just one day. I forgot how that has helped me in the past. and thanks for the extra hugs. I sure can use them right now. my dad needs me. I am his rock too. he is like a lost puppy.
@carlsoda a few other podcasts along the same lines you can search is Cookie Rosenblum, Weight Loss made Real and Thinner Peach in Menopause and Beyond with Dr. Deb Butler. they all use the same concepts as PhitnPhat. I listen to them all. and get something from each. I agree with calling back and I did and left another message. it is unacceptable, I am reaching out for help and apparently they are not serious enough. maybe it's not a good fit because of that.
@Shirin_K baby steps will get you to your goal. and meeting your water and step goals is a great accomplishment. good job keeping at it. and I love your start, stop and keep. you are putting in the work. put those goals on your frig and lets may it happen in may. ohhh that is awesome. you are getting it!! yoga, walks and water! awesome.
@Mrsbell8well ohhh and your day of comfort and rest sounds amazing. I can't wait till things settle down a little in my life so I can take some time. and that is exactly what is happening. I wake up in the morning with a strong conviction that just for today, I will stick to my plan. and then I just stop. feeling blue is tough. don't let it drag you down a rabbit hole! you are making that new Angelina, she needs you to be strong. I love love love strawberry rhubarb. we use to have a rhubarb patch when I was growning up and the neighbors had strawberries. we would swap and make YUMMO deserts. your tart sounds just devine!! and I said it last week and I will say it again. maintains are good. you got this.
@kirsten11872 I am so sorry life is so difficult for your son. I can't even imagine the struggle he must go thru every day. and my heart goes out to you too my friend. one day at a time. just for today.
@nstephenson01 lol isn't it funny that sometimes when we get more sleep we are more tired. makes no sense. and I agree with you I love our team. We rock. love your start, stop and keep!! hope you find some joy in your yoga class.
@GingerPwr I am glad you checked in. sure hope you are feeling better.
@Julie8468 vitamins that taste like Cheetos? ummm good luck. I take a multi vitamin with no coating on it, vitamin d, omega 3. I have to be really careful with the multi vitamin, I have to take it with food or it upsets my stomach. I believe they help but the data can be contradictory. I would just like the pills to be smaller. my why is the reason this weight loss is so important to me. I have lost the importance, the urgency I once had. so it is very hard for me to commit to my program because I can't figure out why I should. I mean I know the obvious. like I want to be healthy, I want to feel good in my own skin, but those whys for weight loss don't seem important enough for me to quit doing what I am doing. that is the why I speak of. the why should I not eat a big mac, large fry, large shake, and an apple pie and then go home and eat dinner too so jim doesn't know I stopped at mcdonalds.
@hope002 yay you! you starting running. that is awesome. make sure to stretch your feet before and after your run. it will help.
@amsandos I have two water bottles that I fill every morning. one is 35 oz and the other is 25 oz. that makes 60 so at that point I am good. I feel. helps me to know where and how much I have drank. ohhh yea girl. sugar is like crack. I agree. there is a whole scientific reason behind it.
@gottagetthisdown no fitbit? wow, do you know why? that's weird.
@lenka1 chicken soup and rest is the best thing for a cold. nice self care girl!!
@pacsnc6 that is a very good idea, I will do that this weekend. thanks for the advise!! and it is so funny you say that, I have been seriously thinking about becoming a life coach.
I am loving all the input from the team. you guys are doing great. this is the 8th day of may. what are you doing today to further you to your goal?

I have been off this week, packing up MIL's clothing (Wyfe has finally come to grips with the fact that she is never going to leave the nursing home) and cleaning closets and cutting grass. Got my brother on the plane today, headed back to Arizona. Back to real life for both of us!
Brother is a very healthy person. He has been talking to me for three days about using a keto diet to manage diabetes. I have to do some reading on this. Do I recall that someone in this group is doing keto? If so, any pointers to RESPONSIBLE reference material on keto would be appreciated. Based on his summary, I am not sure its something I can manage. But it's worth a look.2 -
@eyesopennow you remember Deb that use to be in our group? she is still on our fitbit challenges? I think she did keto. and @carlsoda had done atkins, and that is kinda like keto. anybody else????1
-
@eyesopennow and @cyndiesstuff I’m not sure if we did it right, but my son and I tried it for almost 2 months. I think we were were in and out of ketosis. Mostly a low sugar and very low carb diet. We started with watching the movie “magic pill” and then the YouTube videos from “mind over munch”. There is even a site that explains how to adjust MFP for your keto goals. Got Swerve to replace sugar, almond flour, coconut oil, sugar free chocolate chips, etc.. it was really hard to find everything at first. After a lot of bacon, chicken wings, burgers no bun, avocados, cheese, nuts, we couldn’t keep going. We even brought keto chocolate chip muffins to school - kids were very curious. So far, I still miss the wing nights and muffins.1
-
@kirsten11872 I was wondering the same thing. @sleepymom5 your absolutely right about the financial part of losing anymore weight. I am still in awe that I wear size 6. I can't imagine wearing a size 4 and not really sure I want to. That could be part of my "stuckness".
Even though the last 4 weeks have been 149 it is a little more complicated than that. I did lost 2.6 in April total. And since I weigh daily...I know that I have been 151-150 and barely have managed to hit the 149 at weigh ins. At least the first 2 weeks. So I was always overjoyed to see 149 on the scale. But now the opposite is happening. I am seeing 148 on the scale more days than not and end up 149 on weigh in even with skipping dinner. So who knows. But I definitely feel that I am now on the lower side of 149 which is a positive thing and it matters. I would like to lose 3 more pounds this month and I would really like to be in the "normal" weight range. so for now I will still work to see 142 on the scale.
Thanks for all the support team!!2 -
Tuesday check in
Food- on target
Water 1 l
Exercise - physio & walking
I am going to try to get back to daily check ins for May. Am back from Florida & had my physio gait analysis today. It went well! I am cleared to run but on a two month plan that is incredibly gradual, with run/walk sequences. I lost a lot of muscle tone during this long injury, but I am so looking forward to getting it back! I just completed my first run & photo below is the finish line in new shoes!
@cyndiesstuff - You mentioned wanting to do a gait analysis and I highly recommend it! This was my first in a very long time. This time they videoed me on a treadmill from multiple angles & distances. I learned so much from the video review!! I am having another further into my running plan & am interested to compare to this baseline.
@sleepymom5 - So sorry about your bursitis & wishing you a speedy recovery!

@Mrsbell8well my shirts/tops are usually a medium or a large, and my jeans are 27 waist/30 length...i don’t know dress sizes or anything though!
Got an email from my gym this morning with a good midweek reminder in it, thought i’d share as it motivated me when i read it!

Laziness has officially taken over my day. From sitting in a cold office all day to now laying on the couch ready for a nap. I haven't eaten much today 3 halos and a hand full of cheez its, only drank half of my gallon of water....sheesh, what a day.4

exercise - walked 2 miles while little man practiced soccer. Easiest 2 miles to date since having really bad tendonitis last summer. Might actually be able to run consistently soon.

Trying to hit 143 next week!6 -
Wednesday:
ate - under calories
water - over
walking - under, will be around 8000 by the time I walk upstairs and put it away for the night

I am sorry, I am not going to be able to comment on everyone’s posts. It is a struggle to write this lol! Hopefully, I will catch up tonight. I needed a hard drive replaced, I got an email that my computer was one that was effected. I may be nieve and not realize what a big job that may have been OR that I am not their only customer Lol! I really thought I would have it back in a few hours @cyndiesstuff I can’t even find the spreadsheets on this but no worries. I will fill them in this evening.
As far as yesterday. I did make a decision not to exercise, I actually am starting to feel better so decided not to push it. I wish I had planned better because my steps were so close and I didn’t think it would be wise to “catch up” with almost 4K steps. I am going to take a rest day today too. I have a lot to do today so I have to make sure I plan my steps better. I did well with food and water. A pretty good day overall. I also got a HUGE dent in my to do list which feels awesome. Lol! Back at it today. I have a lunch date with a friend. I already know what I am getting so I have no worries about that. It is actually nice to not stress or feel like I have to cancel plans because I am afraid I will go off plan. A year ago, if I had a little streak of good days like I have now, I would have canceled lunch today. It is nice to see l am really making life changes. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
