Just finished yoga and ab challenge. Also made 2 pie crusts. Getting up early tomorrow to bake 2 strawberry rhubarb tarts for work tomorrow. 1 is for employee just had a baby. We’re making them dinner. I’m known for my seasonal fruit tarts.
I bought some extra ingredients to make a vegan one for me tomorrow night. I just love rhubarb!

I love rhubarb! My mom used to make wonderful lemon rhubarb and strawberry rhubarb pies. Alas, no one in my life shares my taste for the stuff. Enjoy!

Food - overall good choices except for 1 item which was a bad choice (trying to look at the good hehe)
    Water - great
    Steps - 10,000+ plus yoga

Except for an afternoon "treat" today was a pretty good day. Started listening to PhitnPhat podcasts - she has quite the potty mouth and hope it doesn't rub off on me as I don't want something to slip out in front of the grandkids :), but definitely good conversation happening!

@cyndiesstuff - I would call back to the counselor again since they haven't called you back..even if you need to leave a message. Totally unacceptable in my humble opinion.

@Mrsbell8well - your tarts look amazing - can I come work for you? :) I am between sizes 8 and 10 and when I was my lowest (137) I was between 6 and 8. All clothes are slightly different in sizing so I guess it just depends on the brand. My body composition is different from yours - I have most of my weight in my stomach area and less everywhere else. I have the bad unhealthy fat I guess :)

Now...time to work. Greeting to everyone!!

    CAPTAINS AND TEAM MEMBERS!

There has been a bad link posted where you can go to look at the MAY Spreadsheets. I just corrected it (I hope!) so all the information should now be visible.

For more details, captains please check the Captain's Lounge thread for my last message. The link is there, and if there are ANY problems, please leave a message there ASAP.

I'm sorry for the problem - I'm not sure where the bad link came from or how it got there, but it should be ok now!

Food - logged and on track
    Water - 80 oz
    Steps - 30 min walk, 11,229 steps

I am happy I have really been on track lately with all that has been going on. Usually this craziness would be a reason I would spiral downward. I did finally break down and go to see the doctor about this hip. I have bursitis and am on steroids. I have to dial it back with the walking. No more than a mile at a time so I need to keep an eye on my steps though out the day to make sure I am hitting my goal of 10k. I did get MK last night. I thought I would be the only one there at 9pm moving someone out of the dorm but it was busy. I was ready to strangle her because she wasn't completely packed because she wanted to come back today to say goodbye to everyone. I made her finish it up and had her say goodbye while I tried to figure out how to fit everything into the car. I am glad that drive is over for now. I was doing it 1-2x/day for at least a week. I found out my niece is moving out Friday am and my nephew is moving in Friday pm. I actually think that will work out well. I have a plan and now that my daughter is home I think I can do it since I don't have to be worried about having to run out to get here. Driving alone is 1.5 hr round trip. On top of that...my husband's bar is going to open very soon so he has to be up there a lot. "All hands on deck" time. I am so bad on FB, I posted a link to it and then had so many comments I got overwhelmed and didn't go back Lol! My friends' say I need a social media assistant. Lol! MFP is really the only social media I am active on but I have all the accounts Lol! Got to get moving. I have a lot to do in the next two days. I actually have a lunch date with a friend from when I worked in the ICU that I was going to cancel tomorrow. I decided to keep it, it probably would be a good thing for me. Have a great day everyone!

@hope002 Lately you have really been kicking it with the exercise and it must be so awesome to not only see results but to actually be stronger and fitter! You should be so proud of yourself! I get plantar fascitis (sp?) . I find if I wear good sneakers it really helps. You are doing great! Keep it going!!
@amsandos I am in no way and expert but also have problems with sweets. I have been chewing sugarless gum. After a meal, I always want something sweet so lately I have been popping gum in my mouth instead. So far, so good. I know some people don't like that artificial sweetner but I really don't use it otherwise. I still keep track of calories because I have to but my goal is to be able to just eat to +2. I am still trying to find +2, lol! some days are easier than others. You have a good plan and you have been doing well. Keep it going!
@gottagetthisdown Wow! Amazing water and steps yesterday!! You must have an interesting job! My daughter's friend works for the FBI and can't say what he actually does. My daughter was interviewed for his character before he was hired. It was weird having FBI agents in the house.
@cyndiesstuff I can't believe that you are still waiting to hear back. That is so unfair, you are reaching out and no one is helping. Is there any way your primary doctor can speed things up for you? I actually can understand why you are off track with eating. You have so much on your shoulders. I wish you could just be having fun, planning details to the wedding celebration and honeymoon. Just stick with your plan today-just today. You can do this. I am glad your Mom is doing a little better. How does your dad do through all of this? Hope you have a good day, once you have one, it is a little easier to have another. Hugs to you my friend xoxoxo(<--gave you a few extra ;))
@shirin_K Looks like you are back on track girl! When I see your amazing step count I always envision you chasing little ones around Lol! Let's keep kicking May's butt! Looks like you were the first one to notice that glitch with the spread sheet! Thanks for pointing it out. In my very little computer knowledge, I think we have a different link so we can add to the spread sheet so I guess the captains and moderators use that link and didn't see the one posted wasn't right.
@lenka1 There is something going around. I was telling my daughter in college it was probably allergies and it ended up being a cold too! Sounds like you caught it in time and are feeling better. Hope your little one is feeling better too. You no lifting day seemed pretty hard to me Lol! After leg day I am usually hobbling around for a day or two.
@Mrsbell8well I was going to joke that maybe your financial plan wants you to stay the same size for a bit ;) I know you will figure it out, you always do. Just remember that maintaining isn't bad and sometimes there is a reason. You could be losing fat but retaining water. It could be a fluky hormonal thing... I know you look great, you say you feel the best you have in years and you have lost a lot of weight in the past year. There is no rush, you are doing well, the scale will catch up. I was already wanting that tart even before I saw the pic! Lol! I think you are in driving distance from Philly Lol! Notice how @carlsoda wants to work for you and I just want to eat everything you make and your dad's pinto beans lol!
@carlsoda Lol! Yes, her language is pretty bad but I do love her message. It hasn't rubbed off on me yet. I just hope the more I listen, the more ingrained in my brain it becomes. Also-it is more important to focus on the positives and not beat yourself up with the negatives. You really have been doing awesome!
@nstephenson01 Amazing steps and water. I rounded your water to 87 btw. Love your Keep, Stop, Start! Keep doing what you are doing, the scale will catch up I promise. I feel the same way with the spring. All the sudden you see all that needs to be done. We went to the shore for Easter and I felt like all I saw was all the cleaning and outside work I need to do. I also am better when I write it all down and plan. For some reason I like to freak out first before I remember to do that lol!

@Mrsbell8well It might be your body telling you it is at a comfortable weight. You look great, are wearing small sizes etc. I get it that you want to be at a certain weight, but your body might be telling you something different. We support you no matter what you decide! You are amazing! Also, your tart looks amazing!

    Tuesday check-in:

Food: Calories were under, ate well
Water: I drink all day, I never keep track of my exact amount
Steps: 23,236 - gotta love the elliptical

Hello all! Yesterday was another successful day! I am in the zone! I started the elliptical on level 5, but it was too easy, so I increased it to level 7. I also realized that you can incline the elliptical as well, so I was on level 7, incline 10. Was covered in sweat when I was done. 18:6 IF has been going well, the scale seems to be moving in the right direction. I have a loss, even if it's ounces, every day. I should see another pound or 2 off by Saturday!

@cyndiesstuff sorry you are having such a hard time getting a counselor. Hopefully they will get back to you soon! Hang in there! I have been in the place you are in where you just do not care about what you are eating, it will pass, hopefully sooner than later.

@sleepymom5 sounds like you have a lot on your plate. At least your daughter is home and you do not have to drive back & forth to school. Sounds like you were in the car a lot! The things we do for our kids! One is moving out and one is moving in, you are very generous having all these family members stay with you, I hope you have a big house! Good luck with the new bar, is it in PA?

    Have a wonderful day!

I have been off this week, packing up MIL's clothing (Wyfe has finally come to grips with the fact that she is never going to leave the nursing home) and cleaning closets and cutting grass. Got my brother on the plane today, headed back to Arizona. Back to real life for both of us!

Brother is a very healthy person. He has been talking to me for three days about using a keto diet to manage diabetes. I have to do some reading on this. Do I recall that someone in this group is doing keto? If so, any pointers to RESPONSIBLE reference material on keto would be appreciated. Based on his summary, I am not sure its something I can manage. But it's worth a look.

@eyesopennow and @cyndiesstuff I’m not sure if we did it right, but my son and I tried it for almost 2 months. I think we were were in and out of ketosis. Mostly a low sugar and very low carb diet. We started with watching the movie “magic pill” and then the YouTube videos from “mind over munch”. There is even a site that explains how to adjust MFP for your keto goals. Got Swerve to replace sugar, almond flour, coconut oil, sugar free chocolate chips, etc.. it was really hard to find everything at first. After a lot of bacon, chicken wings, burgers no bun, avocados, cheese, nuts, we couldn’t keep going. We even brought keto chocolate chip muffins to school - kids were very curious. So far, I still miss the wing nights and muffins.

@kirsten11872 I was wondering the same thing. @sleepymom5 your absolutely right about the financial part of losing anymore weight. I am still in awe that I wear size 6. I can't imagine wearing a size 4 and not really sure I want to. That could be part of my "stuckness".
Even though the last 4 weeks have been 149 it is a little more complicated than that. I did lost 2.6 in April total. And since I weigh daily...I know that I have been 151-150 and barely have managed to hit the 149 at weigh ins. At least the first 2 weeks. So I was always overjoyed to see 149 on the scale. But now the opposite is happening. I am seeing 148 on the scale more days than not and end up 149 on weigh in even with skipping dinner. So who knows. But I definitely feel that I am now on the lower side of 149 which is a positive thing and it matters. I would like to lose 3 more pounds this month and I would really like to be in the "normal" weight range. so for now I will still work to see 142 on the scale.
Thanks for all the support team!!

    Food- on target

    Exercise - physio & walking

I am going to try to get back to daily check ins for May. Am back from Florida & had my physio gait analysis today. It went well! I am cleared to run but on a two month plan that is incredibly gradual, with run/walk sequences. I lost a lot of muscle tone during this long injury, but I am so looking forward to getting it back! I just completed my first run & photo below is the finish line in new shoes!

@cyndiesstuff - You mentioned wanting to do a gait analysis and I highly recommend it! This was my first in a very long time. This time they videoed me on a treadmill from multiple angles & distances. I learned so much from the video review!! I am having another further into my running plan & am interested to compare to this baseline.

@sleepymom5 - So sorry about your bursitis & wishing you a speedy recovery!
