Getting on the board with 6 miles. I can't believe I've gotten sick again! I swear the apocalypse is going to come from an elementary school, not a military lab. I should have had kids when I was younger and better able to fight off all the bugs.0

Last night was my night-riding bike club, then today I walked because it was too hot to run. Time to go north I think! I'm at 18/75
@dean - oh no! Sorry to hear you're sick again. Darn kids.
Calling all runners! Runner's World magazine is once again having its "streaking contest." No, you don't have to run naked. What you have to do is run at least 1 mile a day from Memorial Day (May 27th for those outside the US) to July 4. I'm going to give it a go. Is anyone else in? (I'm not proposing we'll track the streak here. You'll track your own streak and this is just a friendly place to report in on how you are doing.)0 -
@anaconda469 If anyone can do that, it's you.
3.1 miles. Ran the local Susan G Komen Race For the Cure 5K this morning. It was very humid and I was just about to let myself walk for a few seconds when one of my gym friends who was there with her daughter and their group doing volunteer work, jumped in front of me and gave me a high five. Couldn't walk in front of her, so I kept going and just finished.

TTD 43 miles
Happy May folks! For those that want to read, here is an update of my past month and the reason I have not been on much.
I am almost afraid to say this, but my meniscus has stopped catching for several weeks and I can actually kneel on my knees without pain. First I give this praise to God. I also have been consuming Welleses Liquid Extra Stength Joint Movement for two full months. I went back to my Protalus Orthotics and bought new pairs and have been wearing them faithfully. These are the only two new changes that have occurred. So between God’s grace, the joint compound and my orthotics aligning my knee and hips, I have not had swelling and pain in my knees. I am not pushing it and I am still hesitant of taking alternating steps on stairs but I can do it pain free. I found repetitive turning like mowing grass for a long time seems to fatigue my knee a bit but so far so good. I am biking more flat area with some slight grade and keeping my gears low for easy peddling. Still a bit hesitant on pushing hills. A PT told me to avoid 90 degrees or more on the knees. With the swelling down the cysts on both sides of my knees have reduced. I am sure hoping this is a turn for the good. Just kneeling without pain is a blessing.
I do need to see a hand specialist. Picking up my 60 pound lame dog several times a day for her to go keep her front legs strong, have her eating while standing and urinate has caused cysts to develop on my left wrist and the base of my thumb on palm side from her ribs repeatedly pressing on it. I also have developed trigger thumb. I could suppress her bladder but she does not seem to empty it that way and develops UTI’s. So far making sure she is up has stopped those from occurring.
My dad finished eight weeks of wound care because my other pup scraped open his shin with a nail while trying to squeeze by him. He still sleeps a lot but has been some what better. April 25th when removing his last leg wound wrap exposed a red ankle. We landed in the ER on Sunday and back to his PCP on Friday, The ER put him on antibiotics for cellulitis and possible gout with no relief and his PCP put him on a higher dose of prednisone because he also feels he has Pseudo Gout. He had his first night of decent sleep last Friday night in the last 12 days and the redness has let up. So the course of some steroids seems to be helping.
Miss checking in on all of you but I am grateful to be squeezing in some exercise each day.3 -

@clepant - That’s a lot to deal with! Glad things are finally looking better. Sorry your dad needed to up the steroids. I know how those can affect people. However, sometimes they are necessary. Hope things keep moving in a positive direction.0

@Dean: Thanks for your kind word. It’s all good here. I am very fortunate to be able to be here for my dad. While some days are hard, the blessings out way the bad. Hope you are feeling better.
@Janet: How I wish I could do the run streak!
@anaconda469: I am cheering for your goal girl.
@Lovemyalex: I wanted to tell you how much I like you the new photo of you.
@Kar: Good job on your run. That is the problem with big crowds...there is usually someone who knows you and the crowd keeps you going.1 -
