I am finding walking hard to do right now. I have been doing aqua aerobics for the highly motivated. This class gets your hair wet and you move. I am going to a walking meetup for the first time this week. I have also been putting in a fence and sweating. It's not walking but I am moving.

OK I am back home from S.D. so now time to buckle down and get the weight off that I put on. No exercise for 5 days and I feel like a fish out of water right now. Did have a wonderful visit with my mother in law and very hard to leave knowing she is dying and this was goodbye. But so glad we took the time to do this.

Friends, I stubbed my little toe this week really hard and thought it was broken! The pain was shocking! It looked terrible, too. Ended up having an X-ray to be sure I wasn't causing more damage with all my walking. Well, turns out the doc thinks it was dislocated when I hit it, but it popped back into place when I grabbed my foot and went down on the floor. He cautioned against HIIT training for 1-2 weeks, but told me to buddy tape and I could continue walking, elevate after, ice when needed. He thought I was a runner by well-developed calves! Nope, I just "walk like a runner" as Leslie likes to say! I am modifying workouts for now as side stepping and step-tap hurts my toe and of course, no boosted walking for another week or so. All of this because I had moved my ottoman out of the way for walking and then tripped over it later without shoes!

I hate that for you! Glad you went in and had it looked at. And congrat's on that great compliment from the doc!

July has been a busy month in many ways. Mostly good, but also some challenging moments. The most difficult one being something going on with the outer left side of my knee, starting the last week in June, especially while doing the Walk DVDs. It was hurting, but not enough to see a doctor, but definitely enough to slow me down.

I began using my hinged knee brace from an old work injury from many years ago. That gave me stability in the knee and really helped with the pain management. Also the usual elevating with ice packs while binging some on NetFlix 🤩.

I was determined to remain active, but not actually injure my knee to the point of having to go to a doctor, while allowing it to heal and hopefully avoiding it becoming worse. So every day I purposely did things but not the walk/ exercise DVDs or extended fitness walking on the concrete streets.

I will post my July activities later on this evening.

I also finished reading through your posts. Of course I can't write personal comments about them as they are numerous, but you all were awesome indeed!

Thanks @AnnofB ~ I seem to be more prone to accidents the older I get!

Take care of that knee @texasgardnr! I empathize with you! I've hurt my knee a few different times and if you keep walking the way Leslie does, it can make it worse. Be careful. Good job with the elevation, ice and knee brace. Best wishes for speedy healing!

@VeggieGirlforLife, I'm so sorry that you stubbed your little toe. That most certainly does hurt! I'm thankful that your toe popped back into place! Ouch  I also empathize with you about injured little toes. been there and done that back in the day. Thank you for your kind words that you wrote.

@damselfly7981, you certainly are moving a lot! Good for you. How did the "walking meetup" turn out?

Well clearly, I did not reach my goal as it was a crazy July!!! My husband broke his dental plate on July 5th and we had to make an emergency trip back to Michigan so he could confer with his dentist and figure out what they wanted to do to fix it. When we got back, we were behind on the remodeling of our house so I spent a few days holding up sheet rock for nailing, handing my DH ceiling boards and other non-walking tasks. Then, my son and granddaughter were here for 2 weeks and it got blazing hot up here in the Adirondack Mountains, so we spent more time in and on the water canoeing, water skiing and swimming. As a result of all this chaos, my walking miles were dreadful. It has cooled off now, the house is back on track and my kids are back in Netherlands so I'll be back to Leslie for August ... I hope ... pending the next Zicha disaster!

Congratulations to all of you who met your goals!!! Hopefully, I will join you in August and meet mine!!! :smirk:

    Walk Strong Everyone!
