I'm missing most of my step days, so I'm not going to bother posting.
Sorry to be late. I've been having technology issues. I got a new phone and the transfer didn't go smoothly. Of course that had to coincide with laptop problems as well. Anyway, I'm connected again. I have loads of reading to do to catch up here.2 -
Top of the Tuesday to you!
I had a crazy afternoon yesterday - a friend had 3 baby chimney swifts fall down her chimney on Sunday. They were shrieking like nothing you ever heard, so she made a comfy box for them and left them in the fireplace, hoping that mom would come down to rescue them. She never showed up, so she called a refuge not too far from us, and they agreed to take them. My friend doesn't have a car at the moment, so she asked if I could drive her and the baby birds yesterday afternoon (in exchange for dinner!). We tried feeding and watering the little things, without too much success, but there were still alive and squeaking, so off we went. They got some hydration and hopefully will survive. Dinner was good!
@zlauerMom - good to see you back! and well done on the loss for the week. And, yes - we are a terribly gabby bunch. Although quieter than usual lately!
@leni1us - good going on tracking and going to circuit training. Those can be brutal, but I swear by it for getting strong and burning up lots of calories. Keep at it and don't push TOO hard - build it up steady and you'll be wowing them soon!
@Terytha - did you get the link OK? Here it is if you still need it. And your friend(s) can request this team if you want them along with you! https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10754679/aug-2019-fat2fit-weight-loss-challenge-support-group-registration-page#latest
@fourathomej - beautiful photos, I agree! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip, and you have a fantastic "took a wrong turn" story to tell forever, even when you are an ol' grandma! (still hiking, I'll betcha)5 -
@jugar I did get it, thanks. I just wanted to link someone in the newbie board who mentioned wanting to join a group.
Lately it's hard to eat because my house is infested with fruit flies and I'm very grossed out. I put out vinegar but they sit on the edge, they do not go in and drown.
So frustrating.2 -
@micki48 I’m hoping 1.5 pounds a week will happen until my birthday! But maybe I should go for 1 pound a week. 😁
I have noticed I get full faster now. Last night I cooked Parmesan potatoes, they are addicting, crunchy, so tasty and just overall DELICIOUS! I couldn’t finish my portion and normally I can eat them until I’m miserable!
I feel better.
I love reading everyone’s stories, struggles, defeats....everything! No competition just love!5 -

I played tennis last night and I will be playing again tonight. My steps are pretty good, I’ve been logging everything and staying under, but still trying to get my calories down a bit more and not use exercise calories if I can. I’m drinking my water. However, I need some now! I have been under 200 every day this week, of course, that’s unofficial. Hopefully even lower by Saturday weigh in. Hope you are all having victories today. ❤️🙌👍🏻4

Hi gang! It seems like I've been MIA forever! My summer break has ended and I've been back to work since July 17th. Lots of all-day meetings and eating out since the 17th. However, this week is going MUCH better. Ironically enough, I haven't tracked anything in the various MFP threads I'm on since July 17th; that's how crazy life got. But I have been tracking-ish in my MFP food diary everyday. (I don't want to lose my streak!) Exercise has been sparse...up until this morning. I was determined to get in a workout before going to work. I am amazed that it took less than 2 weeks before the old sluggish feeling returned. Thankfully, I referred to past successful weeks to remind myself of the valuable lessons I learned this summer. These are the things I need to do consistently in order to get the desired results I want:
15,000 STEPS/DAY
64+ OZ OF WATER/DAY
6+ HOURS OF SLEEP/NIGHT
60+ MINUTES OF EXERCISE/DAY
So I am officially back in the saddle.
Oh yeah, in other news, in the midst of all the crazy I've had 2 more interviews for principal jobs. Found out today that I didn't get one of them. Still waiting to hear about the one I really want. If I could Velcro my phone to myself, I probably would. I'm expecting the call any second! I'll keep you posted.6 -

It's progress, but it's not enough for me to meet my green challenge! Sorry guys -- but there's always August, right? Vacation got me, so I'm posting a day late... I've been eating late at night (we go out after swimming with the pup, and the beach we take her isn't available for dogs until after 6... then we have to shower and all.... so anyway, the "one" meal a day is a late one -- and then there's wine -- but it's the walking/swimming that has saved me this week! Have great weeks -- see you in August!

Quick note before heading for some zzzzzzzzs
I'm visiting my sister briefly - she just sang in a lovely choir concert tonight in Lyme, New Hampshire. Very small choir of 6 women, with a wonderful harpist. Afterwards, because it was so hot today, they served ice cream. I managed to limit myself to a very small helping!
@evangsimmons170 - I love the image of you with your phone velcroed to your sleeve, out walking your 15,000 steps, and GETTING THAT CALL! Hope it happens - and it is great to see you jump right back on the saddle and not let the big bad back-to-work schedule sidetrack you for long. Inspiring!
@juliemargaretkim - thanks for the update! sounds like you're having a lovely vacation - and as long as there is swimming and walking to balance out the eating schedule and those lovely glasses of wine, you're golden! Those pledges for the green challenge are tricky to make, but you were close! And yes, there is always August
@AmyRobF and @micki48 - there is a fantastic feeling of determination and energy happening! And isn't it wonderful when something that used to get you BAD has lost a lot of its power? Keep up the good work!2 -

Struggling a bit with portion control. Eating healthy food, but..
Thinking some delicious natural peanut butter I discovered last week is a new trigger food. Why can’t we just eat a bit of these delicious things?2 -

I know exctly where that 1.8 lbs came from. Just glad it is below 175. Not quitting just need to keep recommitting!6 -
@jugar
last thurs 219.6, fri 220.4, sat 223.04, this am still 223. there's no way I'm coming close to my green challenge.
Don't worry - your weigh in is tomorrow, and if you're still around the same, you'll get back to it! It is always discouraging when this happens, and you know what you need to do - and what not to do! Let us know how we can help, ok?2
