Also heard about furs turned into rugs, pillows, throws. Some animal shelters turn then into beds for orphan animals or pet beds although some places are inundated with discards.
Shame to just toss them out - has to be some good way to reuse thoughtfully.

Even though I eat less meat now than I've done in the past (with a major reason for that being reluctance related to origin), I am most certainly neither vegan nor vegetarian.

I don't want to inflame and I am NOT taking the position that EITHER is "right". My honest feeling is that they're equally wrong and I am personally continuing to participate in the wrong.

But I sit here in an "environment" where "furs" are evil and "out". And in that same environment cans of fish are acceptable, tanks of live fish and crustaceans are seen in supermarkets and restaurants, leather goods and shoes and gloves are "in" and acceptable, and our freezers are full of various animal parts. Yet... "cute animal" fur is evil!

    Cuteness for the win!

You suggesting your pup will provide dinner for photographed over-sized pup????!!!!!!

Glad the eyeglass portrait is still viable :)

All the power to you, PAV. You are a good man, person, pup-lover.

Yes, I was cutting costs by having the pup eaten by the overgrown pups she thinks she should chase. Based on success with otters.....

So here is a visual for you.

Freeze in fear looking at the red "wafting" by your 💩 and going but I didn't eat beets yesterday omg omg omg 🙀🙀🙀🤯🤯🤯

Calm down enough to realize that salmon with veggie fries includes carrots, parsnips and BEETROOT "fries" 😎🤣😹🤣😹🤣

Yes, guys do stare at their 💩 before flushing!!! 🙈

Dog looks blissfully happy. Everything out there looks so green and cool. Real ferns 🌿actually growing out of the ground! And the guy is wearing three (!!!) layers of shirts in June.

Is it wrong to be sinfully jealous of the dog’s excellent vacation?

i was thinking of that - re feral cats - hate to say I was thinking that wildlife sanctuary type place might appreciate the furs too - for the wee babies. But that would make some people very upset maybe.

I've heard of that as an option. Not there yet. Maybe portrait lady will eventually convince me. Maybe not!

Alexandra my usual solution to the dilemma involves carefully squating on the offending cat or dog!!!!!!! In some cases this results in the desired one. In others your behind seems to hurt for a bit!!!!!! Still trying to figure out if the hurting behind makes a meowr sound before the blood shows! 🙀🤣😂😹😘

@bojaantje3822 since "one of these years" I *will* go on vacation come on, give some info on the kind of trips you've looked at if you feel up to it.

Also I'm pretty sure we can scrounge up adventures in Italy, Greece, and little British villages or moors, maybe even the south of France near Montpellier or the mountains of Bulgaria (if push came to shove) for something close by! 🤣

Right now I really want to go to Thailand. I got into thai pop music and their dramas last year and it just seems like a cool place to visit. The trip I looked at had you visiting the bottom half of the country, including the long appendage-like part. I've only been to Asia once and it was great so I wanna explore a different part now. This is the might-be-cancelled trip so I'm gonna check a few others to see if I can get a nice vacation there anyway.

I have an upcoming short trip to either Norway, Denmark or the UK that we're still deciding on and next spring a friend from the US is visiting Italy so I'm gonna travel down to meet her.

I like the sound of Greece for next year. I've had cancelled trips to France before so I've only ever been to Paris (which is not as great as advertised imo) so I'm a little apprehensive of getting excited for France again. I haven't been to Greece yet so that should be fun. Just not this summer.

Gym this morning. 🏋️‍♀️ Then dusting and cleaning in the house.

Hubby off to grocery store with promises to NOT bring home junk or iffy but irresistible sale items. The man cannot resist a sale - whether we need it or not! (But, but, but 🥺 - it was so cheap!)

@bojaantje3822 sounds like you're an experienced travel person! There used to exist organized tours for Greece.... not sure if they would be more or LESS safe than going at it on your own!!!!😹 The ones I'm thinking off were too party oriented for me today🤣

@PAV8888 it's easy to travel around Europe when many of the states in the US are larger than my whole country (4 hours across by train top to bottom 😂). I have family in Canada so that's an easier place to visit. And I went to South Korea for a semester in university so that's my Asia experience. Growing up my parents prioritised experiences over stuff so we went on a bunch of holidays. And city trips are quite nice to do and easy to plan even with a busy schedule

Yeah, the Greece party experience is infamous here. There was a TV show called Oh Oh Cherso that documented the Dutch party goer's experience in Greece. Very interesting stuff...

....the old self-destructive behaviours are still there, lurking under the surface, ready to re-emerge with a vengeance at the slightest excuse or opportunity.....
Just goes to show that we may learn how to control the monster, but he'll always be there lurking inside us waiting to wake up and go on a rampage.
Luckily today has been much better.....

So true! I’ve experienced this myself. Sadly, I cannot understand what triggers the monster. Out of nowhere I’m suddenly insanely ravenous and will eat anything well past hunger or even pleasure.
This has happened a handful of time since my weight stabilized. The only consolation is that, like you, its usually a one day aberration.

Bella - at least you recognized the fall from grace and finding your way back. Surely camping food can’t be too calorific. 😇 Maybe bring a few things you can eat without guilt?

Not a camping fan myself however. Never could enjoy primitive living when perfectly good hotels with nice beds, running water, flush toilets, and restaurants exist. Yes, I am a total city girl who visits nature in small doses. 🤗

Took son to the airport. His first real vacation in three years. It’s only a 4-day to New Mexico where he’s visiting friends. He started a new job only last month so he can’t take off for long yet. Happy for him!!
Did the gym early this morning. Picked up a few groceries as we don’t plan to venture out this weekend. Maybe I’ll work through some of those pesky sewing projects.

Mostly repair work. Shorten some curtains, hem pants, fix buttons.
