    Sunday check in

    Food - logged & 50 cal over
    Exercise - 7 k steps
    Water - 1.8l

I am just about to get on the road. Do you know. that scene in Home Alone, where the family is scrambling to pack, get into the airport vans and rush to the airport? Well, I just lived that! I never got it how they could forget their child in that movie, until now! Don’t worry, the kiddies are accounted for! I am driving with my teen, so the music in the car should be interesting! I may not be able to respond to everyone’s posts, but I will hope on as much as I can. I hope that all of you are able to stick to your plans and minimize stress in these days leading up to Christmas (Hanukkah is already underway!). Thank you Pam for continuing to post the weigh reminders and amazing Christmas tips!!

Hello all & Happy Holidays! I can't believe Christmas is in 2 days! I am all finished shopping, I just have to wrap, which I hate, lol.

Sorry I have not been on here much, been so busy with work and getting ready for
Christmas, glad it is winding down. I had a gain on Saturday, but I am ok with it, it could have been worse. I was actually up 3 more pounds a couple days before, so I actually felt good to see the weight drop even though I was up from my previous weigh-in. I have been doing well with my food & exercise, I worked out yesterday for the first time in a while, it felt good! I am going to the gym tonight. I won't workout tomorrow or Thursday. I have to work tomorrow & when I get home I have to make some adult pudding shots & bake butter cookies. It is very busy for us at work, so I doubt I will get out early, I am hoping by 3:00, but we will see. It is just a very busy time of year!

@CassieGetsFit2013 I am sorry you are leaving us! I am glad WW is working for you! I am not sure who made you feel like you did something wrong, but you did not! You are allowed to feel how you feel & we are here to listen. Take care of yourself! If you have any WW questions or want to reach out, please feel free to message me!

@sleepymom5 thanks! I agree, it is not as bad as it could have been! I was looking at old pictures from Christmas 2012 and I was so thin, I was in the 140's. It definitely motivated me to get back on track and back there in 2020. I felt & looked good! Being a mom & trying to get everything done is a lot, but we get it done!

I will try to catch up with the rest of your posts and touch base tonight if I get a chance.

    Have a good day!

first off I want to thank @sleepymom5 and @Cafelelia for all you do as captains of this team. You both do a spectacular job and your efforts are greatly appreciated! I know it is time consuming and sometimes tasks are not the easiest to do. Especially with the Holidays and everything you both do for your families. Thank you for always looking out for the welfare of our team and our members. Bless you both!
@sleepymom5 I limped into the living room yesterday into my recliner and turned on a Hallmark movie. It was about the Jewish woman and the party she had to plan lol! I caught it 1/2 way through but thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't watch too many Hallmark movies.
I spent yesterday mostly relaxing but I did end up making a pot of red lentil "sniffles" soup. It was really good. I just ate a huge bowl for lunch. I am thrilled that my weight is still right on target. I feel so little. Huge difference from last year. Huge difference from just about any time in my life. I also made some interesting seeded cookies with maple syrup. They also had fresh rosemary I used from my herb pot.
I am back at work trying to regroup. I am still a bit congested but sooooo much better!
this is it Holiday crunch time. Thanks for the tips @sleepymom5 Pam! I am planning to do a bit more baking. Planning to finish some grocery shopping tonight. Should not be too much.
I bought a pretty vest at Old Navy size large thinking I could wear it over sweaters but it is too big. I am going to try to exchange it after work.
HO HO HO and Happy Holidays everyone! Is anyone else excited about opening presents??? I can't wait!

    Check in for Sunday
Exercise: Hiked with the dogs but it was too icy even with my ice cleats on so we did kind of a figure 8. Not sure of the miles but steps for the day were 15,678. 15 miles for the weekend!
Food: logged, consumed a lot of calories but didn't snack off plan for once
Water: OK but not as much as I had hoped as I painted my nails and didn't want to have to use the bathroom while they dried. Such a silly problem to have LOL

@sleepymom5 For no particular reason I was a long time skeptic of Chiropractors but experienced terrible back pain a couple of years ago and was unable to find any relief. He fixed me up and has been treating me for a year and a half now.

Did the big grocery store run Friday and the short one today after my yoga class. Man, the stores are crazy. My weight has been going down all week until this morning but I always have a big gain midway through my cycle so I'm not too worried. A loss for December would be nice tho. For the week, I'm focusing on increasing my water and the servings of fruit and veggies. Christmas only comes around once a year and I don't want to deprive myself too much.

    Happy Holidays all!

I fell behind on last week's challenge because I wanted to take time to reflect on what my word would be for 2020. I gave it a lot of thought and finally came up with "Embrace".

    Embrace
    - life
    - challenges
    - laughter & playfulness
    - change
    - fear
    - whatever 2020 may bring

Our family outing yesterday was painting. My daughter and her husband and his mother (Sue), my grand daughter and I (about half the family) went to a place called Pinot Pallette. We painted a winter forest with a deer in the scene. It's strange how different each painting looks when we are all getting the same instructions.
Today we all went to Drive Shack - a driving range with a computer screen that tells you how far your ball went or how many of the "monsters" you hit. It is a cold rainy day so not the best for that kind of activity. Fortunately you are standing just inside the building and the overhead heaters keep you warm. No, I don't play golf but it was fun to try to hit that little white ball and get it off the ground! My son did really well, grandson got frustrated especially when the club head went flying with the ball!
Tomorrow we will exchange gifts and spend the afternoon playing games or whatever. Christmas Day they are heading to Tennessee to take Sue home then head to the beach for New Years - their annual celebration with friends.

I tried a new class at the gym tonight that my zumba teacher was teaching. She tried to kill us. It is supposed to be zumba strong but she added to it, there were weights and pushups, burpees, jumping jacks and i'm sure you get the picture, She was very excited i showed up so i can be her moderator. I am happy to do it because there are some things my body can not do. So after taking that class and having some nightquil i am hoping to sleep through the night. This cough is killing me and i still do not have my voice back. I migh have to eventually see a dr. I am now on vacation which i am loving. Today i finished getting ready for christmas, I just have to finish cleaning the house and i am done bedsides the food that has to be made but that can't be made until it's time to eat.Very excited for baby Athena's first Christmas. I tried not to go too crazy with the gifts because she is still little, theres always next year and then there will be 2 of them.

Actually, I don't think I am going to leave. I love it here and I love all of you...This is my home and family! I will cut back on my posts, since apparently I share too much or not very appropriate for here, but I still want to do my weekly weigh ins...😊

I woke at 3:30 am and was too excited to sleep. Roasted beets, cooked potatoes to make apple cinnamon rolls, made lemon coconut balls (half are a gift for an open house tomorrow), roasted walnuts for beet salad and made roobios tea for a sauce I’m making. Slept from 6-7:30 am now need to work until 2 and start cooking again.

    Monday 12/23 check in
    Food: logged and over
    Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 20 minutes on treadmill, 45 minute class at the gym

Didn't do much with my day. Got some laundry done. Took a nap in the afternoon, I must still be catching up on sleep since I slept for quite a while. I had planned on getting a lot done while I'm off work but sleep has been winning out. I might as well listen to my body and get as much sleep as I can before I go back to work.

I've been eating too much but I've decided I'm not going to worry about it too much. If I maintain that will be great but even if I gain some it's ok. Stressing about losing weight during Christmas isn't very helpful or healthy.

    @sleepymom5
One of my friends and I watched the Hallmark movie about the Jewish lady planning the Christmas party. It was pretty good. I stayed awake for the whole thing. We watched it in the afternoon so that probably helped. It seems when I watch anything when it's dark, I end up falling asleep. Of course, usually when it's dark, I'm up and moving around at work.

@tryingagain5 It is a hard time of year to stay on track. I think it is smart to plan for some goodies. For some of us (me included) it is unrealistic not to have them on our plan. Maybe portion out what you were given instead of sitting down with the whole tin, bag, box or whatever. Also plan it over a couple of days. I am not sure how long you have been at this but I am sure you remember Christmases that the whole month of December was a loss. I always had a huge gain at the end of the month. Now you are still eating healthy for a majority of the time and exercising. This holiday season is going to be a good one for you! :)

This is a hard time for me and it seems when I'm home and not in my regular routine it's even harder. Yes, for me I need to have a treat now and then, I'm not the person who can say I'll never eat such and such again. That's just too restrictive for me. I did a restrictive eating plan in the past. It worked for a while but it was not sustainable for the long term. I try to portion the goodies out but it seems once I start it's like I can't stop. Kind of silly but that's what happens. I ate pretty much everything I was given already. What is left I'm taking with me to a get together this afternoon.

It seems I've been working on getting healthy forever but have been working much harder on it the last few years.

Thanks, I think it will be good for you as well and everyone else here. Just having the extra support helps a lot.

    Check in for Monday
Exercise: Yoga class; 5,567 steps. My day was too busy to make it out for a walk but I don't focus on steps as much on my yoga days
Food: Was OK, some off plan nibbling but overall the day was good
    Water: 78 oz

Got an inch of snow last night so we'll have a white Christmas after all. Menu is planned for today and tomorrow. Have some last minute chores to take care of today and some dishes to prep. Hubby wanted me to help him with the barn project but because of the snow I'm off the hook now Yeah!! LOL Hoping to have some time to catch a Hallmark Christmas movie. Continuing to focus on my water intake and eating plenty of fruits & veggies.

    Good reminders @sleepymom5!! xoxo

Better get moving with my day.
    Take care everyone! Happy holidays!!

    Monday check in

Food - logged & on target
Exercise - 5 k steps (too much driving for Christmas)
    Water - 1.5l

Yesterday day was not bad, other than the Home Alone chaos and a long, driving trip. I am not a big drinker, but I have alcohol through the holiday week (a glass of wine, some Bailey’s) and it is in my plan each day this week. It is a tough Christmas this year, but we are keeping traditions and making it fun for the kids. The kids are all on a big hike now and will go ice skating outdoors tonight. My husband’s family live in a smaller university town and it is very pretty at Christmas. Everybody walks and hikes here, so I can get my exercise in easlity. My husband’s family tradition is to do a large Christmas Eve vigil meal with a huge number of meatless dishes. We are scaling it back slightly this year, and my husband is doing all of the cooking. We are hosting at our Airbnb house and I am prepping the place now. We even have a large LED Christmas tree that the kids love. Tomorrow is stockings, church and to change things up a bit this year, my husband and I booked a Christmas dinner for everyone at one of the nice restaurants in town. I miss my mom as she joined us in past years, but she is hosting my brother and family at her house this year. My brother keeps sending photos of the mountains of Italian food she is preparing. One Italian tradition that I do every year is a visit from “La Befana” who the Italian equivalent of Santa. In Italy, she visits on the eve of January 6 for Epiphany, but in my house stuffs the stockings for the kids, which they open on Christmas morning.

Happy Holidays to all of you!!

    @nstephenson01 - Love your word for 2020!
@CassieGetsFit2013 - You just gave us all a great Christmas present by deciding to stay!

    Tuesday 12/24 check in
    Food: started logging but stopped
    Water: 56 oz
Exercise: 15 minutes low intensity at home

I had originally planned on going to the gym this morning but forgot I had a
chiropractor appointment at 10:30 and he doesn't want me to do any intense exercise after the adjustment. Also, I wanted to get some laundry done before I went to my appointment so I exercised at home today.

I went to my appointment and then napped for a while before my get together. I picked up my friend from her house and met some of her family at church for a Christmas Eve service, then back to her house for dinner and visiting. Her kids are about my age (one of her daughters is 6 months younger than I am) I've been considered part of their family since I've known them, about 16 years or so.

Of course there was lots of food and I ate way more than I should have. At least I was able to send my leftover cookies home with someone so I didn't need to take them home with me.

The weather was really nice here today, mid 30's to low 40's. Last Tuesday it was about 19 degrees and we got a couple of inches of snow. It looks like it's going to be pretty mild again tomorrow, partly sunny and about 50 degrees.

    Weigh in day Wednesday
    Week: 4
    PW: 193.0
    CW: 193.6
+ .6 not too bad considering all of the sweets and way too much food that I've eaten in the last week.
