    Your JANUARY chat page has just gone up!

    This is always a bit crazy at the end of our challenge month. We open the new one, where you can go and post an introduction, or whatever you want to say at the beginning of the new month. But keep doing your week 5 weigh-ins here, and discussions don't really have to move to the new one until Sunday. We just like to be prepared B)

    Just a quick check in-we are back from the shore. It was so nice to get a way for a little bit. The girls actually kept the house clean AND Shannon had all the Christmas lights on for me. I know, I do have to take them down soon but I love them so much. Today, I was able to actually walk on the beach. I was really tired after. I only walked for 30 minutes but I went at a good pace. I am disappointed that I am getting tired out so quickly but I really haven't been walking since before the summer. I am going to have to start walking more now that I am feeling better. I don't get out of breath, my legs just get so tired. I don't remember when I took advil last for my hip or knee so I am doing much better. I guess I just have to build my endurance up again. I can't believe it isn't even 8:30 and I am ready to go to bed Lol! I will check in again tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

    @nstephenson01 Nice loss especially if you had a lot of sodium yesterday-I bet you are even lower. I have to remember to check out those Jessica videos. I need to have more of a routine with strength training. I have just been doing random exercises and don't really have a routine. Sounds like you have a good plan for the day. Guess with the snow the barn project is on hold a bit.
    @Cafelelia I love those goal trackers above. Where did you get them from? I would like to print them out.
    @Freeglerock How cool that you have an allotment and you still are harvesting things from it! Is it close to your house? You are doing great on your bike. I need to get mine fixed, it is in the garage. You are really making me want to get out and ride!

    @ljdanny That isn't really bad at all. I am glad that you got the treats out of the house. They are just too tempting for me to have around. I believe I already saw you got to your zumba class. That is awesome especially after the first day back to work.
    @ljdanny and @Freeglerock I am too uncoordinated for zumba Lol! So many people love it and I am always in the back of the class doing the wrong thing :D
    @tryingagain5 I actually have been doing well the past few days with veggies and water too. Maybe after having a week of indulging more than usual, we actually wanted them more. Sounds like you had a really good workout today. I know it is hard while you are going through it but isn't it satisfying when you are done? Have a good night a work. :)

    Yesterday I had fruit and yogurt for breakfast and a pre packaged salad for lunch. It wasn't enough and I snacked too much when I got home from work.

    Supper was a large Waldorf salad, which was delicious, but then I ended up grabbing chips later, so yesterday had its ups and downs.

    I found an app that does 30 day training for different target areas. Did my first set of exercises yesterday.

    Today I had a poached egg on half a bagel with cream cheese and strawberries. Hoping a little protein keeps me more satisfied through the morning.

    Quick check in as I need to leave early for my yoga class because the roads are an icy mess.
    Food: Great all day until evening
    Water: Really good but lost track while MFP was down
    Exercise: JessicaSmithTV 30 minute total body strength training, 30 minute dog walk, shoveled snow; 10,210 steps

    I put together my 24 hour plan and did great all day until the evening. Hubby made ham & potato soup. It simmered along all day in the crock pot and smelled great. I went back for not seconds but THIRDS!!! I'm not sure why I'm overeating at night lately and need to examine the reason... Ugh. Hubby is a great cook but he's messy and he doesn't clean up. I cleaned the dishes, drank a glass of water, set my IF app (for the first time in a really long time) and went to bed. It was just soup, I told myself LOL. I'm pretty sore today, but in a good way, from the strength training. I took my measurements yesterday morning and they're slightly up. I think its because I'm less toned from not doing any strength exercises for quite some time. So far today my 24 hour plan is created... now to see if I can control my eating tonight.

    UPDATE! F2F's own Habit Tracker

    Everyone on any team is welcome to use our habit tracking spreadsheet. The tracking starts on Sunday, but please go in and set up your name and list of habits before then if you can. Here is how it works:
    1. open https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hGjC7OQrH9Cb8U5gmkeax8VXYm2wsTiSYg43Dg0s_LE/edit?usp=sharing
    2. go to the bottom, and choose your team from the tabs
    3. put your MFP use name in the column on the left (highlight "name" and type in yours to replace it)
    4. add up to five habits you want to track daily
    5. check the box when you do it!
    It is completely up to you to update your own tracking. Do it every time you finish, daily, weekly - however you want. Just be sure it is complete at the end of every Saturday so we can include this in the weekly winners circle!

    Food: not logged and over
    Water: over 64 oz
    Exercise: 30 minute walk, PT and stretching
    Not the best eating day yesterday. We decided to do a late lunch/early dinner with my brother and sister in law. It was last minute, we were driving home already. We met them at an italian place. I just overate. I left about 1/2 on my plate but I ate appetizers, bread and salad too. When I got home, I did have some candy that was around. I can't believe my weigh in was the same from New Year's day after all of that. I got to get moving. My PT just moved me up and hour so I have to go get ready.

    @GingerPwr That was a good start. I think to add more protein is a good idea. I like those salad bags and if I was taking it with me somewhere I would bring a tuna packet with me. I also like chicken on it.

    @nstephenson01 That eating at night is tough sometimes. I actually did well for a while with using the IF app. For some reason if I started a fast, it bothered me to have to start it over. I got away from it with the holidays but plan to start again. Have a good day today and be careful out there!

    Just a quick check in. My surgery went well on Tuesday. I can't decide if anesthesia is fascinating or creepy! lol All I remember is scooting from the hospital bed to the OR table (don't even remember laying back down) and then waking up in PACU. Haven't had to take any pain meds since the first day. I'm finding it really hard to rest though. The day after surgery, I walked a mile on the treadmill- only at 2 mph, so nothing strenuous. Yesterday, I took a few small walks and ended the day with 10k steps. I did an hour long walk this morning and hope to get at least 10k steps today too. So far, the scale hasn't moved much but it isn't from a lack of trying so I'll just have to be okay with whatever the scale says on Sunday.

    I started filling in the habit tracker....what weekly goals are everyone trying to hit? Would love some ideas!

    @1theresamcvean Welcome! Terrific first post and introduction! I read every word and really enjoy your writing style. My profile pic was also taken on a day my hairdresser blow dried my hair out. I’m useless when it comes to my hair and usually just let it air dry and be its curly self. We have very low humidity here in Montana so that helps

    This is just a quick check in for today as MFP has been so challenging! I said to Pam that the system is probably crashing because it is the beginning of the year, so more people are using it, just like the crowding in fitness clubs at this time! It took me a while today to get some introductory posts up on the January thread and I finally did it!

    @lennoncpa - Nice maintain and amazing steps!!

    @hope002 - Nice loss! The IF is working!

    @1theresamcvean - Welcome! Thank you for that lovely post & introduction! As you know, I am very psyched to have a Toronto “neighbour” on MFP! I updated your starting weight on the January spreadsheet to 152.0 so that you start Week 1 with your current weight.

    @amytriesww - I am so happy that your surgery went well! Cannot agree with you more about anesthesia. Look at you getting so many steps already! I have a paper habit tracker, so I am still deciding whether I will use that online habit tracker. I am tracking the usual stuff (exercise, water, logging). I will also track to my 2020 goals, some of which are not weight loss and fitness related like which are include being more creative and dressing nicely each day (I work from home most days).

    Ok so back to what I was 2 weeks ago. Lost what I gained from the holidays. I am excited for the next few months ahead. I have been doing great and will keep doing what I'm doing so I can reach my goals!

    Friday 1/3 check in
    Food: logged except for an unplanned supper out. Didn't look up the calories but had over 1000 left so I think I was pretty close
    Water: 40 oz
    Exercise: none

    I stopped at the lab after work to have some more bloodwork drawn. It wasn't too busy, only had to wait for one person. There was mandatory overtime last night so I ended up sleeping all day. At least this week it will be overtime pay as opposed to last week where it was regular pay for making up some time off during Christmas.

    I got the bloodwork results back and found out I have to have some more tests done. Apparently I'm bleeding constantly and have to have an EGD & colonoscopy combined to find out where and why. I do take aspirin everyday (and have for many years) but have to stop that for now . I had a lot of questions but the medical assistant who called wasn't able to answer any of my them. My doctor's usual assistant doesn't work Thursdays or Fridays. A referral was put in for a gastroenterologist so right now I wait for them to call me to get on their schedule. I see my regular primary care physician on the 10th. I have a long list of questions for him.😊

    I had planned on eating at home and possibly getting in a little exercise before work but I ended up going out with my dad and a family friend to let me know about the results.

    I see I have some catching up to do on the posts here and the ones in the January thread.😁

    1 day: 48 oz
    5 days: 64 oz

    Reached my goal on water and veggies Close on the fruit. Had I eaten at home I would have met the fruit goal too. Going to keep plugging along at this.

    @nstephenson01 I mentioned it & use it. Not sure if anyone else shared it. I started using the Simple app for IF, it’s $19.99/year, but has a lot more features than Life.😊

    My family let me sleep in yesterday, what a treat!! It has been wonderful to have a few days where I have not been running around!

    @tryingain5 - Great week with the water & veggies! I hope that everything goes ok with that blood test and the diagnosis. I know that it is hard not to worry. Drawing up a list of questions for your doctor is a really good way to address this. Try to stay positive and will pray for you.

    @Zumba_luvah - Great loss & way to get back on track!
