Dinner tonight is a big Southwest salad. Tomorrow I was thinking about lentil chili with cornbread top?2

Clearly Thanksgiving was more fun than it should have been. It's time to get back on top of things before the next round of holiday festivities really starts.6 -
I have been nursing my sick pup this week. Most of you know that I love my dog, Tucker, more than most people. He is doing much better and should be back to 100% in another day or two.
Below is my yesterday. I thought it was pretty funny, but did the spoiler as it is totally skippable. My routine has been a bit hectic lately with the extra dog duties. I left for work yesterday feeling good with what I had accomplished within the 30 minutes of waking up and running out the door. I had a dinner plans in my head and plans for putting dinner in the crock for tonight.
I really felt like I had my stuff together!!!
Got home and started green beans for dinner. I was prepping my crock meal as they cooked before I grilled the pork chops that were to accompany the beans. After getting my crock meal prepared (btw - it is cooking in my office and smells delicious!) I opened the pork chops that I had bought (marked down) on Monday. UUUUGGGGHH - they were spoiled! SERIOUSLY? In just 2 days??? Now what? The chicken I had is now in the crock covered in seasonings for today and all I have is green beans. <Insert your favorite 4 letter word here>
Now what? Cheese sandwich and green beans? GROSS! I open my fridge- nothing appealing, cabinet... same. Freezer - everything is frozen. FISH STICKS!!!! I called an audible and made all 6 fish sticks for K and me. Not the big ones, but the little skinny ones Dinner was not exactly what I had planned but it turned out okay. We feasted on 3 fish sticks and green beans
The best compliment was K's response. He said "I know you love me... because if you didn't you would have made the stinky chops and said 'you know, I think i will just have beans for dinner - you take the second for lunch tomorrow' and sent me on my way with the rancid pork and laughed at my food poisoning."
On the weight loss front - I still have not weighted from thanksgiving. I have not been logging properly, but I have been doing well. My snacking has reduced significantly and I feel my choices have been better. Retraining the brain can be so difficult, but it will happen!!!
Does anyone have an awesome weekend instore that they would like to share?4 -

Of all the things about weight loss that makes me crazy is sticking to plan and having these weird water weight fictionalizations. Intellectually I get it but argh!7 -
@lindamtuck2018 dinner tonight was a lentil marinara sauce over zoodles from the Cookie and Kate website, adding Parmesan. I used a jar of Rao’s tomato sauce to make the sauce rather than making the tomato sauce from scratch to save time. It is basically a meatless Bolognese.2

@CharlesScott78 could not agree with you more! It takes all my strength on those days even though I intellectually know it is just the water weight.2

Binge eating got me this week. I have been slipping into taking my meds earlier in the evenings. This makes me super dopey and drowsy so I am more likely to binge. So I think between the binge eating disorder and the hunger from the meds I am creating the perfect storm.
My daughter comes on Monday from Scotland. I know there is eating out on the menu twice next week. That is usually good for a few pounds of salt weight for me. It will be all worth it to see little Stella.5 -

Reflecting back on the week, lots going on. Holiday stress, hubby out of town, and most importantly, I’ve been staying up too late. Mindless snacking, holiday excuse, I deserve this, etc. Part of this is water, because we ate out last night and I’m up two pounds over yesterday. My goal is to journal everything and to come up with simple healthy meals for the next week. I’ve got to nip this in the bud!7 -

I had a stressful few days...my kitty who is 9 mos old became anemic and almost died; $2300 later w/transfusion and bone marrow sample for testing to see what caused her to become that way; she's home now and seems fine; however, for lunch yesterday, we were at vet for 4 hours and I had a cappuccino, flaming hot cheetos and swedish fish, no restaurants around and didn't think it would take 4 hours before going home....😞4 -

I would say I am struggling a bit. November I put my blinders on and worked pretty hard. This month is going to be tough. Sodium is going to be my enemy. Even if I stay within my calories, the water weight will be awful.
With that said I have changed my goal to maintaining my December start weight. I am going to do that by
1. Trying to stay under 2300 mg of sodium
2. Walk, walk, walk
3. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

Monday, Week 2
PW: 156.3
CW: 153.7
I weigh every day but only 'count' the Monday weigh-in, which is always higher than the Sunday weigh-in (I basically lose most my weight during the week, and then have a minor bounce back on weekends - because of my intermittent fasting schedule), so while I can't quite 'count' it yet... yesterday my weight was right on 50kg lost. This is the original goal I set for myself at the beginning of the year, to lose this amount, and I gave myself until Feb 2020 to get there.
So hitting this milestone yesterday prompted my partner and I to get out the New Year's Resolutions we made at the beginning of the year, as well as the more refined goals we decided at the end of January when I bought us all goal themed diaries (and I started working on losing weight), and reflected on the progress we've made over the year so far. While I haven't hit all my goals for this year, I have hit several of them, and they have been really life-changing. While this year hasn't been easy, it has been a really good "it's getting better" after many years of a lot of struggle and stress. My partner felt a bit worse because he hasn't hit any of his goals, but we were able to discuss what he had achieved - the things he didn't think to set as his "goals" but had done anyway, and how much they had improved our lives. For once we feel 'ahead of schedule' reflecting on how we will continue to improve on things next year, and have a couple weeks to reflect some more before setting our 2020 New Year's Resolutions.
It is really hard for my partner to make changes in his life because he has quite low levels of self-motivation, and is more likely to make excuses about obstacles than try to find a way to overcome those obstacles. He is always quite a few steps behind me, which can be frustrating for both of us. But I feel like I've had quite a lot of 'uhuh' moments this year, and he has seen the results of these, we have talked about what I am learning, and what a difference it makes, and it is slowly sinking into him. I think next year he might have a real go at hitting some of his goals.
I hope you all have had a similarly good journey this year (despite the ups and downs that are inevitable in life).5 -

Sorry for MIA. Getting back on track after a hiatus of 14 days break, no tracking of food and no access to scale, of which includes 10 days visit to home city for brother in law's wedding, 4 days of falling sick due to weather change. Cough and cold is still there but managing my calories intake from today. Not feeling well enough to exercise but hope to start soon.
Got on scale on Saturday my weight was up 5 lbs!!

Fantastic @Luciicul
I think many of us have the 'SO Struggle'. For me it was the realisation that this way my excuse to fail. Just because my SO, or anyone else I started a journey with, dropped out or waivered it was not my reason to do the same. I would love Sharon to join me though only if she really wants to. She makes the same rumblings regularly and then doesn't follow through. I want her to be happy and if this is what does it for then she should stick with it. For me I want something different and I will achieve it.
It does look a tough time for many and I hope everyone comes out on the other side quickly and in good health. Comfort food is a real thing in the mind, I am guilty of it as well especially when tired or under pressure. The question I would ask is how did this help in the past? When I couldn't run for that bus, when I couldn't wear the suit I wanted to, when I finished that bowl of chips and still wanted more... did any of that actually help me? Does any of it help you? Food can be a crutch to support you, who wants to be on crutches their whole life?
There seems to be a lot of 'not' talking - sound off here, we are all experiencing difficulties and we can learn from each other.3 -
Oh, must I post?
CW: 233.5
I finally got batteries for my scale and I have gained 9 pounds over the last 3 or 4 weeks. Usually I struggle with either meals, or snacks, but I have been struggling with both. But I am here posting and not going to run away. We shall see what this week brings. Well, this is me being accountable, so I shall now slither away into my hole. Not giving up though!9
