Ha, Ha! 😉I just had an age related screening this week too.1 -

I do try to make use of all the resources I have available. I've lived alone my whole adult life and am not much of a cook. A long time ago I used to make things on my George Forman grill, in the crockpot, or oven and portioned them out. I guess I was meal prepping and didn't know it. I need to get back to doing that.
The mason jar salads are pretty big but It would depend on what you put in it. I usually ate something else too but you could make a meal out of just the salad. You could eat it right out of the jar if you want to. I emptied it into a bowl. Since the lettuce or spinach is on top, other things in the middle and dressing on the bottom once you empty it out it will be in the right order.
The larger jar is used for the salad and the smaller one for the overnight oats. They're empty now but my fridge is full and the plan is to do some meal prep tomorrow.
At the make and take workshop we used skim milk for the overnight oats and it worked fine. I didn't care for them cold so I warmed them up, about 45 seconds or so in the microwave. I put them in a bowl first.2 -
@sleepymom5
Here's the pic of the jars that were used. Larger for the salad, smaller one for the overnight oats1 -
Thursday 1/23 check in
Food: didn't track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minute session with my trainer. It was hard but in a different way than Wednesday's session. It was more strength training and Wednesday was more cardio/conditioning
I was asked if I wanted to come in early or stay late for overtime. Since Thursday is my volunteer night, I opted to stay late. When we do that we get to take a quick 10 minute break first. After my break I went back in to find out where I was needed but was told they didn't have a spot for me. Apparently several machines were down so that didn't help. My OT ended up being 12 minutes, 10 minutes for break and 2 minutes to walk in and walk back out. I was tired so I was ok with going home. After my session with my trainer, I went to the church where I volunteer. The kids there are really adorable. There are several new families in the program. The little kids will play a while and then they'll come with their arms in the air telling us they want to be picked up. We only hold them for a couple minutes and then they want to go play again. After that I went to work.2 -
Friday 1/24 check in
Food: didn't track/not good
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: none
It was 3rd shift's weekend to work but they decided that we didn't need to work tonight but that it will be mandatory to go in at 8:30 on Sunday instead of our normal 10:30 starting time. I was asked if I wanted to stay late today but had to say no. I had a funeral to go to this morning. The sister of my family's friend passed away this week. She was 83. I was able to sleep about an hour and a half before getting ready for that. After the service and luncheon I went to the store and stocked up on groceries.
I made one crockpot meal so far and plan on making another tomorrow. I also plan on making some Mason jar salads and overnight oats.
I plan on going to bed early since I've only slept that an hour and a half since 2:30 yesterday. Definitely low on sleep.
The weather has been strange in West Michigan today. Temp around 40 with pouring rain.1 -

Sorry, everyone. I know we are trying to stay in the green this month. I was up and down like a roller coaster this week and netted out at 0.1 lb gain.
I'd also like to apologize for being mostly absent. I'm still having a lot of specialists' appointments and tests (for anyone new, I have a recent diagnosis of Meniere's disease which is moving quickly) and more next week. Plus still launching a start-up. My daughter's cancer came back and my mother is doing so poorly that she has to move from the retirement home to a nursing home. Usually, I have so many more happy things to report.
I did enjoy an outing yesterday to the Legoland Discovery Centre with my 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter, Pippa, and 8-month old grandson, Gilbert. I thought Pippa would like it the best, but Gil did. It must have been all the primary colours. To sum it up, we showed Pippa this pink and mauve Lego convertible car with a white Lego cat in the back seat, just the size for a couple of toddlers to hop in and pretend to drive. She got in and took the 'Lego' steering wheel. Immediately she noticed that it wouldn't turn, so jumped out of the car and looked 'under' it, saying, "This car doesn't drive," with a very perturbed look on her face. Really the look was, 'WTF.' When we left, she said in her little 2 1/2-year-old voice, "I don't like Legoland." Fair enough.
I've been so tardy getting back to you all. My apologies if I missed you this time or if my comments seem out of date. I think about you all the time and try to do better because you are all working so hard.
@KUMEcyclingteam Great loss! I hear you on getting old. I've been poked and prodded all month and will be back for more next week.
@lennoncpa Jimmy is so cute. I don't know how you can let the fosters go. Sharing my dog, Xavier (Xavy) here with his beer pong toys.
@GingerPwr Great loss!
@hope002 Same to you - what a loss! I love that you did a black diamond and your ski photos are awesome - before and after! But I see what you mean
@Cafelelia Congratulations on breaking your plateau and getting into the 140s. I hope to see that soon. I loved your post with the little dog in a bathrobe and sunglasses enjoying Saturday. Just show me a dog pic and I feel just the way that pup did in the pic. Ahhh.
@pacsnc6 Congratulations on your loss this week. I saw your question asking if our Smartwatch tracks biking. Mine does automatically. That automatic feature can be hilarious though. When I put my grandchildren to bed (they are babies), if I'm rubbing their back when they're in their cribs, which can go on for 30 minutes straight, my Fitbit records Elliptical. When I go for a good walk with the jogging stroller, it thinks I'm cycling. It has to do with arm movements with no distance traveled (Elliptical) and distance traveled plus heart rate up but no arm movements (Cycling). I hear you on the dizziness. I've got complex vertigo due to Meniere's Disease.
@rosieposiesrl Small loss, but what I'd give for your reading on the scale. I'm so close and yet so far. What scale do you have with such an accurate reading to two decimals?
@phoebe112476 Clementines are really sweet when you avoid sugar! Also peeling them is like opening a candy or other treat. Great congratulations on your loss and normal BMI. I loved looking at your charts. What an accomplishment!
@Fi45 and @Cafelelia Even though I would love to just rely on clementines, I do save calories so that every evening I can give into either a sweet or salty craving. Snacking means a lot to me. Some ways I do this are to divide all 4-serving recipes into 5 and then freeze the ones we don't eat immediately. Anything that's supposed to be a cup, I eat 3/4 or 2/3 cup. Lately, I've been making cauliflower rice and mixing one cup of it with two tablespoons of actual rice.
@nstephenson01 Even though I haven't been here, I have wondered how your barn building was going. I was wondering how you do it considering it's winter. Glad to hear your FIL is there to help. I love wine too and plan ahead to fit it in...dare I say, every day. Not too much, but still.
@amsandos I'm in Canada and we are pretty British in our lingo (heck, we now have one of the princes living here and I live just blocks from where Meagan lived when she was in Toronto), but I get the biggest kick out of the weight loss in stones. So lovely to be able to follow your journey!
@Mrsbell8well I hear you about the busy. I feel so bad when I'm not here and so soon after I joined. But don't you worry, you share so much of your awesome journey with us and I get so many ideas when you are here.
@jmilner89 Great loss and terrific activities this week. I thought I was on the wrong page when you mentioned summer school holidays but quickly tuned in.
@Freeglerock I'm so sorry to hear about your brother and then your step sister. Big, big hugs.
@twyla77 Great week 2 loss and step numbers.
@kirsten11872 I lost you at pudding shots. Just kidding. I hope you had a great birthday celebration!
@sleepymom5 I took my tree outside the same day as you. I felt a great sense of accomplishment, though I hate taking it down. I wish we had them up all year long. I'm sorry to hear about MK. I hope it reassures you to know that my wild child is the most responsible adult. Her medications probably don't help her handle her alcohol, but she needs them and she also needs to be young.
@JillyBT I try to sleep over 8 hours a night and according to my Fitbit this can take longer than 9 1/2 real hours. Drinking all this water/herbal tea can get me up in the night but I don't turn on the lights or look at the time. My doctor once told me not to worry if you can't get to sleep or wake up and can't fall back to sleep. As long as you lay there and relax (like meditating) your body is restoring itself. I love sleep and so does my daughter. Whenever we need a secret password, our question is 'favourite thing in the world?' and the answer is 'sleep.'
@tryingagain5 I'm glad you made it through the colonoscopy and sorry to hear you're dealing with an unknown. The good thing is that you're living a healthy lifestyle. It often takes two years to get to the bottom of medical issues. Stay positive!

I am working hard to live the level 10 life. I am doing good on health, exercise, home, and this past week, work and romance and family. It is so hard to get everything in. I’m loving my planner but I need time to plan too. Trying to figure it all out. Today we’re doing our lake hike. Had to postpone it with being sick on New Years.
Had to give up tv watching this week to stay productive. Food prep has been a game changer.
Hope to catch up on posts at sometime but we do what we can when we can. Keep setting our goals and priorities and work them.
Have a great weekend everyone2 -

Oh yeah down 1.8! I'm so proud of myself. I've been working hard to lose the weight and now I'm down 16 pounds since October. I'm getting so close to the 170s!! It has been about 4 years since I've been in the 170s. Oh I had a nsv yesterday as well. I was getting ready to go out dancing with friends and couldn't decide what to wear. So for the heck of it I tried on a pair of Jeans that I haven't been able to wear in about 4 years. I just wanted to see how to close to fitting me the were. Well I was surprised because they fit perfectly. So I'm super happy to be able to wear my favorite jeans again!!8 -
Nice loss @zumba_luvah and terrific NSV. Feels good, doesn't it??!
Cute dog @1theresamcvean !!
@Cafelelia Have a wonderful vacation. Being on the beach sounds heavenly! I'm living vicariously through you.
@sleepymom5 I'm right there with you re the good with water and exercise but overeating at night. We'll figure this out. We know what we need to do, we just need to do it.
FIL is back home and barn loft is mostly done. Life should hopefully return to somewhat normal next week whatever that means. Today's 24 hour plan is done and my agenda is purposely light as I need a mini-break. Going to spend some time this weekend meal planning for the week and try to regain some control over my routine/schedule.
Have a great weekend team! Let's kick butt on our goals!!3 -

I am not surprised with my gain. I am gaining and losing the same 2 lbs all month. I have a week to finish January strong. I need to get my head in the game. I have a quiet weekend planned. I hope to catch up on some things and plan my week. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
@Cafelelia Thinking of you! Hope you all got up and out and to St Maarten safely. Enjoy!
@lennoncpa . I never responded about your cute little foster dog. I love that the family is sending pics. That is awesome! It is so nice that you give your time and home for these little cuties.
@KUMEcycling Nice loss! This must have been the week for that test on this team! Lol! Glad it is over for you. Hopefully this will be a better week!
@tryingagain5 Thank you for posting the information. I think I am going to try start making both of them. I am amazed at your busy life. I don't know how you do it all. Hope you are catching up with your sleep now.
@1theresamcvean That is not a bad weigh in at all. Basically a maintain for you, which I think is good, especially after the week you have had. I am sorry to hear about your daughter. It is good that she was being followed closely. Will she start treatment soon? I am sorry to hear about your Mother too. We had a rough year or so with my Mom about 2 years ago. She declined so quickly and her level of care changed along with her condition. She is settled for now but it seems like her condition can change at any moment. Hopefully the transition goes smoothly for your Mom and family. It is hard. I was reading a post of your on the regular MFP newsfeed and you were saying the things you are doing for the Meniere's disease. That sounds tough. Just thinking about doing them made me dizzy. Hang in there. Many times the things that are the toughest to do make a difference. Hugs! Don't ever feel bad about not commenting or being on here. I don't want this team to be a stressful thing. It is supposed to be helpful. That story about Pippa is so funny!! Lol!! What a cutie! I feel like I would like Legoland. I can't believe they make things so big! I am glad that Gilbert liked it. I am glad you had time to catch up today, we missed you! Your dog is the cutest too! Those toys are so funny! Thank you also sharing that your child did turn out well. It helps to hear that. xo
@hope002 Wow! Thank you so much for posting those pictures. It is amazing how different your body looks even though you are at a higher weight. (you look amazing by the way) I just finished reading the obesity code so your post came at a perfect time for me. It explains why IF works. You can tell that you are losing fat. That's why the scale isn't the best indicator of what is going on. Maybe this post will give me the push to get started. Thank you again for posting this.
@timibotkin Wow! Nice loss! Hope you have another good week!
@brown6267 Nice loss and amazing steps as usual! You are doing awesome!
@Mrsbell8well Enjoy that hike! I hope you aren't due to get the rain we are getting. No worries, check in when you can. Enjoy your weekend!
@Zumba_Luvah Nice loss!! How exciting about your NSV too! You have been working hard and it is all paying off! Keep up the good work! xo
@nstephenson01 You will have to send a pic when this part of the project is done. I know you said this is a big project so I am assuming there is still more to do after this. It is amazing your husband can do all of this. You must be pretty handy too. Sounds like a good plan for the weekend, mine plan is similar. We got this!!
@kirsten11872 I am not surprised at your loss. It sounds like you are back in the groove!

I just want to take advantage of an opportunity to show how the scale doesn't always show the whole picture of how well we are doing. We all have had weeks that we have done well and the scale didn't budge or maybe even went up a little. There is so much that goes into our weight- fluid retention, stool, food in our system, hormones, muscle etc. Today @hope002 posted pictures of herself at 2 different weights. She actually looks thinner at the higher weight. This is because she is actually losing fat and building muscle. I just think this is such a good example to keep in mind when we are feeling that the scale isn't budging. It is important to not give up. Your body, and the scale, will eventually reflect your hard work!
Hope also used two different weight loss methods for the results above. I have recently read the Obesity Code by Jason Fung MD. There is a section in this book where he explains why with IF our body uses our fat as fuel. I found it very interesting. If you are interested in IF, you may want to read this or look into the many interesting articles on this method.
IF not for you? That is ok, we are all on our own journeys and have to do what is right for us. I didn't point Hope's progress out because of the method she used. I wanted you all to have a real life example of how our weight isn't always the best indicator of how we are doing.
Thank you @hope002 for sharing your progress with us!

@sleepymom5 I love Dr Fung. I haven't read his books, but I watched a lot of his videos. He is amazing!!!
I'm doing OMAD now(one meal a day), hunger is not bothering me anymore, I eat because I want to nourish my body. Carbs cravings - GONE. This was my biggest problem. I don't do Keto, but pretty low carb diet.5 -
@1theresamcvean I love your picture of Xavy! Obviously I’m a dog lover! When the first dog I fostered got adopted I cried and thought I had made a mistake but now I’ve fostered 10 dogs and I’ve had them anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. Usually if I have them for longer it’s because they have health problems. I had one that had double knee surgery and she could hardly walk. I wish I was able to see how she is progressing because she was just the sweetest little thing but was so deformed. She got adopted quickly after the surgery so I didn’t get to see how she recovered.

Had to cancel hike. I’m feeling really strange muscle fatigue, brain fog, heart flutters and feeling off balance. I was afraid it was this diet. My nurse daughter thinks I’m showing classic signs of B12 deficiencies. I will go Monday to check my levels and maybe get a shot. Looking for answers on my Facebook group as well. A certain amount can be attributed to detox but something feels wrong. I have lost 5 1/2 pounds in 13 days. I’m eating a lot. But Molly is questioning the calorie level. Who knows. Staying on course for now but holding off on exercise till I feel better5

Congratulations weight loss winners this week! There’s a lot of you. Cute dog pictures ladies!
Yes getting older does bring more screenings and more challenges.
Thanks for all those that continue to reach out with your love and support!
@Zumba_Luvah I remember that feeling vividly of going down the scale and fitting into old jeans congratulations!
@hope002 I’m on Day 14 of lectin free low carb. Down 6 pounds. But...the fat is most definitely coming off my waist, belly and under by bra on my backside. I do think this is a different kind of fat loss than I’m used to. Your pictures really show a difference. Thanks for sharing.
@sleepymom5 I will Ck out those podcasts from the doc you mentioned.
@Cafelelia I hope your holiday is wonderful. I love thinking of you and your family on the beach.
@1theresamcvean you always have the nicest things to say. I love having you in our group.
My daughter suggested epsom salt bath for magnesium. Going to do that this morning then begin my day of food prepping. Not sure how much endurance I have but will do what I can. Skylynn is with us today. She is a great assistant in the kitchen.
Have a good Sunday everyone!

Saturday 1/25 check in
Food: didn't track
Water: 32 oz
Exercise: none
Last night I slept from 7:45 pm to 6:30 am. I slept well except for waking a couple of times. Still tired after 10 hours of sleep. I made the chicken and veggie crockpot meal and had planned on making the Mason jar salads and overnight oats but was really tired so I slept from 2pm to 7:30 pm. I stayed up for a little while after that and went to bed around 9:30.
I'm not sure if I'm tired from the 3rd shift schedule or the anemia or both. I'm sure the 3rd shift schedule doesn't help but I've been on 3rd for 4 years and don't remember being this tired. Of course, I only slept 1 1/2 hours on Friday after work so I was definitely short on sleep and haven't been sleeping enough during the week. And the OT I did when I was in the other building was coming in early so I got more sleep then. I do more in the evenings now so I stay late for OT in the building I'm in now.3 -
Hi everyone, We arrived safely yesterday. This time away is doing us a lot of good already. We are renting a house & our host left us 2 bottles of Prosecco as a welcome! Did not log yesterday as it was such a long travel day but it should not be hard to stick to a healthy plan with all of the fresh fruits & vegetables (minus the Prosecco!) already done my beach walk for the day! My MIL is so happy & that makes all of us happy after a very rough time. Hugs to everyone! Here are some pics

I was really hoping to see another couple lbs down bc I ate and exercised really good last week, but I just maintained.
