    Good morning all!

Happy March! I totally forgot we were starting a new month. LOL Thanks for getting us started, @KateNkognito

Thanks for the kind words! Feels great to be back in the 160's again.

Good news here - I am wearing my size 8 work trousers today! Last time I wore them ahem comfortably was two years ago. Today they feel fine and I don't think I will have an issue with them feeling too tight after lunch. Last time I wore them they felt tight in the AM and then they were ready to burst after I lunch. LOL

Hope everybody has a great day and a good week ahead!

Congratulations, Meghan! That must feel FANTASTIC!
Today was a bit high for a fast, but still pretty low calorie. Darn stress eating and evil little chocolates! Must resist their wicked Siren song. >:)
I hope everyone else is having a great week, so far. :) Shout out to all the lurkers!

    Good morning everybody!

Thanks @KateNkognito! Everything went well with the smaller pants on. They were not screaming after lunch. LOLOL

Forgot to mention yesterday that we made sugar free / low carb organic yogurt, home made in our Instant Pot this past weekend! It came out AWESOME!

Hope everybody is well and having a good week. See you soon.

What? Homemade yogurt in an instant pot??? Holy ok that’s cool!

Happy March! And great news Meghan, re the size 8 pants!!! So proud of you.

Kate I hear ya on the stress eating... I’m gonna have to give myself a strict talking to!!

Friend coming to dinner Friday, so I’m a cleaning & tidying machine today! That should burn a few calories!

“Stay away from treats and wine” is my new mantra!!!!!! I MUST repeat this in my head!

^ ****friendS coming.... there’s more than one, there’s 4! :# Shishkabobs on the bbq is on my menu, marinating chicken with colorful peppers added, thinking of some Mediterranean type theme, adding hummus & tzaziki, spicy olives, and looking for a Mediterranean type rice dish on Pinterest and some sort of Greek salad with romaine included... also making a sangria! Should be healthy & yum! But lots of work prep!!! Haven’t entertained in a while!

    Good morning all!

@mamainthekitchen something got deleted out of your post, do tell us what it was! LOL A Mediterranean BBQ sounds fab! Have fun! Pinterest is my go to for recipes! As a matter of fact, it is where we found our sugar free keto yogurt recipes!

Here is one that is pretty much what we made:

    https://youmakeitsimple.com/2016/12/greek-yogurt-in-the-instant-pot-thick-creamy
We used three ingredients: half a gallon of organic full fat milk, two tablespoons of organic full fat Greek yogurt, and one tablespoon of vanilla extract.

Let me know if you have any questions on anything. I can recommend the Instant Pot that we bought as well if anyone is in the market for one. :)

Things are good here. Eating clean, drinking my water and taking my vitamins. Can't say we have been to the gym lately, but we'll get there in time.

Hope everybody is doing well. Sending positive vibes to all!

Hi! I'm new to 5:2 but not new to MFP. I recently listened to the audiobook of The Obesity Code, then watched the BBC Documentary on 5:2. The blood work benefits are fascinating. I'm going to give it a try for 6 weeks and see what happens :) I'm all for a longer, healthy life.

    Tips?

    Thanks

Oh and I make instapot yogurt all the time - so good!
I found some really cool euro strainers to make it extra thick.

Welcome @soleico1 we are excited that you are joining us!

Definitely check out the various FAQ links on here about 5:2 for lots of great advice and tips. My tips are to try not to do two back to back fasting days - i.e., Mondays and Thursdays work nicely. Give your body a good full day of calories before you reduce calories again. No science backing that comment, just hunger. :) Easier to have a little more food in your tummy to get you through or at least that is what I found. I also would practice my version of Intermittent Fasting when I was doing 5:2. Typical day for me: coffee with milk or cream in the AM. Lunch was a salad with a little protein, and dinner was a simple soup or stew that was low calorie. I would finish my day at around 500-600 calories. Lots of water too!

Too funny, I have the same strainer, but with a black lid! Works awesome! We let ours sit in the strainer for a good 24 hours in the fridge. So yummy! Can't wait to make more this weekend. :p

Sorry @solieco1 apparently I still have issues with "i before e". LOL

Hey, all! Went a little over fast day calories at lunch, so I am powering through until bedtime. I am going out tomorrow evening with coworkers to pasta dinner and then a musical. I am going to attempt to skip breakfast and have a very small lunch so I can binge at dinner. I have been doing really well with alternate day fasting. I think I have found my groove. :)

@Meghan509 One of these days I am going to get an instant pot... my husband has been making a lot of rice and I would love to be able to have dinner ready in less than an hour.

@mamainthekitchen I hope your cleaning and entertaining go well!

@solieco1 Welcome to the group! There are so many great benefits to fasting! Definitely check out all the links on the main page, like Meghan said. There is also a lot of solid research available online, as well. There are also a lot of different ways to fast, as well. I am currently doing alternate day, some people have a limited time during the day that they eat, others do the 5:2 method, and some do a little mix of everything with keto diet, as well. Feel free to ask questions! I want to get my blood work done some time and see what it is like after fasting.

Off to go find a beverage to tide me over until tomorrow. Have a great rest of the week! Happy fasting!

Last time I posted I said I was gonna fast thru the rest of February... I did not :/ But I decided Monday that I'd aim to fast to the 15th, to get back on track for my Healthywage challenge. After the Disney trip this past weekend I was over 10lbs behind projection to reach my goal. This morning is day 3, down 7lb from Disney. Got 4 more to go to be on schedule, another 4lb to reach my goal for Marth 15th.

    Good morning everybody!

@KateNkognito congrats on your fasting schedule! Sounds awesome!

@cgcrutch definitely don't be hard on yourself about not fasting the rest of Feb. Life happens! Hope you had a nice time in Disney! Hope you make your March 15th goal - you GOT THIS!!

Things are rolling along pretty nicely here. Friday AM is my weekly weigh in day! Hoping that goes well. I would like to be in the mid 150's by mid May. That is around 15 lbs away. I tend to me a slower loser but I think my changes are good!

Water, water, and more water on tap for today. Sticking with my 1200 calorie goal and Keto WOE and that's pretty much it.

Have a good Thursday. See you soon.

    Good morning everybody,

I weighed in this morning and I am down 1 lb. Heading in the right direction, for sure. :) Things are good here.

Hope you have a great weekend. See you soon.

Broke my fast with eggs yesterday, and again today. Guess I'm doing OMAD? LOL no, I have to get back to fasting to the 15th. Gonna do dry fasting to kill my appetite, then switch back to water. Something about drinking water makes my stomach growl if I haven't eaten, like my stomach expects food. But not when I dry fast. Just gotta get past 3 days for the hunger pains to stop!

    Hello! And happy Saturday’s

My dinner party went very well and my Mediterranean them was perfect! Skewers of colorful peppers & marinated chicken then grilled... plus Spanish rice, Greek salad, hummus & tzaziki, spicy olives and sangria!!! I had very little rice only plate so I did pretty well. Good news is my house is sooo clean as I had to give a tour, so all rooms are clean & tidy!!! Today, I’ll flakes out and may just do nothing at all!!!

    Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!!

    @Meghan509 Congratulations on the loss!

@mamainthekitchen Glad your party was a success!

@cgcrutch Keep going! You got this!

    @orlcam You still out there?

Yesterday we had to put our cat to sleep. He had a tumor, so we knew it was coming, but it still was so hard to do. :'( I ate my feelings and I am regretting it today. Off to fast and clean house. I can't lay around and be sad all day again.

By the way, tomorrow is the full moon. It is the week before Spring Break. Friday is the 13th. The children will be crazy! Pray for me!

Went about 42 hours dry, except morning coffee ;) dropped 3lb I'm that time. To break I ended up eating a carnivore meal, not because I was hungry, I actually felt fine. I just kept thinking about how I wanted to eat something! My willpower is lower than it used to be :( even when I'm not uncomfortable with hunger or thirst I still break the fast. Haven't overcome mental hunger yet. Even looking I'm the mirror to remind myself I don't NEED food right now, still WANT food and cave. Smh

So sorry about your kitty cat @KateNkognito, that's so hard even if you know it's coming. Thank you for loving him so well <3

Had a quite luxurious weekend away with my Husband that included 2 nights out with friends and Sunday brunch. I enjoyed it without guilt and am up just a bit today that is likely mostly sodium. Doing 5:2 on Monday and Th this week. Today will be the hardest I think just because my body wants more brunch LOL!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning all!

Hope everybody had a nice weekend. Happy Monday... *grumble grumble* :s

My weekend was good. Little bit of down time and some errands, all that fun stuff.

Good luck with your fasts, cg! You got this!

Glad your party went well, Mama! Sounds yummy!

Ugh, Kate I am so sorry to hear about the cat. Sending hugs your way...

Things are same here. Plugging along. Planning to stick to my Keto WOE and do my version of Intermittent Fasting (I drink coffee in the AM with half and half and Monk Fruit Sweetener).

We made another batch of sugar free Keto Yogurt in our Instant Pot overnight. Now it is sitting in our fridge in the strainer container. Looking forward to tasting it tomorrow. :) We used a different type of organic milk and a Fage yogurt.

Speak to you all soon. Have a great day.

What a Monday! Today was a normal day, but I stayed under my calories somehow. I am exhausted. Thanks for all the "hugs". I appreciate it. Off to bed. Hoping I can fast tomorrow. I am feeling kind of weird tonight.
OH! I discovered Home Chef heat and eat meals at Dillons (Kroger)! I got the chicken alfredo and another chicken and pasta one. Really good and really quick. There were also low carb meals, too. One was roast with veggies and there was a pork chop one, too. A little pricey, but I had a coupon and one of the small ones made dinner for me and I will have the rest for fasting lunch tomorrow.

    Good morning all.

    Happy Tuesday.

@KateNkognito hope you feel better! Those quick meals sound cool! Hope you enjoy! We are in love with our new Instant Pot. Easy to have a meal ready in under 30 minutes with hardly any hands on time!

Not much going on here. Things are quiet. Lots of people flipping out over the Corona Virus. Which is understandable due to what's been happening lately. We have a case near by, which is scary. Been washing our hands and trying to avoid large crowds and groups of people. Have not been to the gym and don't plan to for now. That place can be a germ pit and one of us can't afford to get sick or come down with the virus. Sorry to be Debbie Downer today. Just on my mind is all...

On a positive note, we did book our vacation to Montego Bay, Jamaica in May. Hoping by that time all of this Corona Virus stuff is in the rear view mirror. My profile picture is the beach in Jamaica, from when we were there last year. :)

Have a good one and see you guys soon! Healthy positive vibes. <3

@Meghan509 I plan to book some trips while flights are super cheap because of the virus LOL! Yesterday the 1st positive case was reported here in Louisiana... I didn't think it would make it here, let alone be in my city :/

    A haiku:

    Spring is in the air
    So are very nasty bugs
    Wash your germy hands

I need to make copies of this and post them around the school. :D
