Magical March

Watching Harry Potter while I do some chores so Magical March sounded good. And it's like a shout-out to our sweet member Magic!
Worked most of the day now home and started laundry, made salad dressing, set up salads, cleaned chard and kale ready to cook with onion, garlic, mushrooms, and I think I'll add some pinto beans too. Whole bunch of GBOMBS in one pot.
Planning to get back to 100% plant based and cut out the pretzels, crackers, etc. that have crept in lately. My back is bothering me from 4 nights on the couch. Hope my bedroom will be back to usable in another couple days.

Love ❤️ u guys!0 -
Doing the Daniel Fast, so 100% whole foods, no added sugar, yeast or caffeine. Batch cooked yesterday - 1# of vaquero beans, 4 cups of brown rice, 4 cups of pico, batch of sour cream and a batch of mayo. Cut up all my salad fixings. Gonna make a batch of nacho cheeze sauce tonight. Ready for the week!1

Hey vegan4lyfe! Good to see you here. I haven't heard of the Daniel Fast and will check that out. I haven't even looked at my newsfeed in a couple years so I lost track of my old friends here on MFP and I'm happy to see you.
Glad all is well at work Magic!
Great WFPB day today!
B - some of my GBOMBS concoction... made a LOT so I think that will be breakfast for the week
L - leftover stir-fry... bok choy, peppers, cauliflower, carrots, water sauteed and added a splash of coconut aminos
D - salad, fruit

Afternoon all...
Well, I am finally making progress in the kitchen. I changed game plan in there since whatever I had been doing was NOT working. I was just spinning my wheels. It is quite a mess and needs total cleaning, top to bottom.
The Little Cleaning Monk book got me going...have not read it all, but the intro really made an impression on me to finally get me started. Thanks so much for the recommendation, Austin.
Today's looking like this:
coffee
oatmeal with all the goodies: cinnamon, flax meal, raisins, blueberries, homemade almond milk
Amy's Frozen GF Vegan Mac & Cheese with two cups of baby spinach wilted in...excellent!
Trader Joe's Herb Salad
Dinner: Jasmine rice with steamed broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus
TEA...lots of it
Dessert, maybe one ounce of Enjoy Life mini choco chips
Have a great day my sweet peas!
Mihani, do you have your bedroom back yet? I am so happy for you to be getting a whole new house! You deserve it! Your menu today is stellar!
Hello to vegan4lyfe...I am kinda new...not even a year, but I love this group. April 4th will be my 1st vegan-anniversary!1 -
Love the idea of wilting spinach into your Amy's meal, Magic. I try to add some greens to most things if possible. And yes!!! I got my bedroom back, he finished it today and it looks beautiful. I got all the clothes and etc. put away that had been piled on the bed and put fresh sheets on it. Can't wait to sleep in my bed tonight. My bedroom needs a good cleaning now, some dust and debris from all the sanding and painting, but I will get that done tomorrow. Just now eating dinner.
My menu today was same as yesterday. Makes me happy to eat so healthfully!

Yay, for being able to sleep in your own room...sweet dreams @Mihani and everyone!0
-
Morning all...having my oatmeal...I think 30 min soak with the frozen blueberries is a good time frame...oats get soft and there is zero slime!
Did a bit in the kitchen...had to sit down and rest my knees. May make a Costco run...or wait til tomorrow and just pace myself here and get the kitchen done.
Lunch will be either Amy's frozen gf vegan lasagna with a ton of greens wilted in...and maybe even poured over chopped romaine. OR
Chipotle inspired Buddha bowl ...rice, beans, corn, tomatoes, romaine, salsa...air fried corn tortillas...yum
Dinner will be more steamed rice and steamed veggies...
Dessert 1 oz Enjoy Life mini choco chips.
Hope everyone has a deeeeee licious day. Later, mates.0 -
The buddha bowl sounds delicious Magic. You have a recipe? Glad you are making progress on the kitchen project.
I came home to a nice surprise... painting is done other than the doors so I can start putting my office back together tonight. Yay!
No breakfast today
L - GBOM bowl, 5 Mary's Gone Crackers
S - cashew cookie lara bar
D - big ol' salad
Not eating my fruits this week, not sure why. I will eat some berries or an apple after my salad.
1 -
@Mihani, no recipe...just plop all that in a nice big bowl and go at it. Probably needs avocado, as well.
But I had the lasagna...it was so good. I made a Costco run and picked up more spinach...probably got 3 cups in there...I layerit in a glass casserole dish, small kinda...and the heated lasagna goes over it...and then casserole dish top on and back into the hot logic...maybe heat for 30-45 minutes...and yum!
Tonight will steam broccoli and roast some zucchini and then make some jasmine rice. Low sod tamari and all is right with the world.
Didn't do as much in the kitchen as yesterday...working on a new sleep aid...it's natural...it's in the other room. Got it from Sprouts...a combo of several things...I fall asleep ok...just end up waking up at about 1 or two and then I need some help getting back to sleep. This kinda worked last night.
I had been taking Alka Seltzer plus nighttime cold...for years. Ugh Two a night ... probably need to stop. So I am on to a natural something or other to help me. More details...wait, I will just stand up and go get it. I'm so lazy!
It's by ...wait I will take a pic and post. Told you I was lazy!

Here’s the stuff I’m taking . I woke up at one...fell back asleep at 3:15. Sleep 😴 App on my Apple Watch gives detail.0

Hey there!
I keep thinking of you guys and getting interrupted when I start to type up a post. So squeezing this in before I go get some ZZZZZZs!
@magic71755 , it's so great you are paying attention to sleep. It's a challenge for so many people. I am a huge fan of the sleep podcasts on the Headspace app. So if you feel adventuresome, you might give that a look? They even have one/some sessions for waking during the night.
And I am with @Mihani -- that Chipotle inspired Buddha bowl sounds delish!
I had a good ETL day. I got in some weight lifting and some living room walking (Leslie Sansone video).
B - green smoothie with broccoli, spinach, blueberries, ACV, spices; almond butter; goji berries
L - steamed mustard greens & black beans; zucchini, tomato & onions; mushrooms with carrot & parsnip; steamed turnips & butternut squash
S - apple slices & pb
D - huge salad with homemade plant-based dressing (riff on that mustard-y one, @Mihani ); steamed acorn & butternut squash with turnips

Hey there Austin! Your menu looks great...hope YOU got a good night's sleep!
I, on the other hand...zero sleep last night...well, that experiment went nowhere. Can't understand why I did relatively well the night before.
Going back to my Alka Seltzer Plus Nighttime Cold tablets...I would not survive my workweek like this.
Today, gathering tax papers. Nothing crazy. Had I had a good night's sleep, I was going to make carrot/apple juice...but without sleep, my body just will not handle that...especially my knees. And the kitchen still needs work before I make juice.
Menu today...
Oatmeal...
Amy's Lasagna with added two cups spinach
Dr. M's soup with extra veggies
Snack: hummus and veggies
no dessert
Later, mates...have a good day...hope you are enjoying your bedroom, Mihani...and sleeping well!

Taxes have been faxed and received by my accountant...yay!
Menu changed a bit:
Today's Menu is looking good!
oatmeal breakfast with the usual suspects...flax meal, cinnamon, blueberries, raisins, almond milk.
lunch: same as yesterday lasagna and extra spinach
dinner: burrito Buddha bowl...so much yumminess in there...beans, rice, tomatoes, onions, romaine, corn, salsa, air fried tortilla strips...looking forward to this!
Snack of hummus and raw veggies.
Dessert: grapes
Hope your day is just as deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee licious!1 -
Sorry you aren't sleeping well Magic. Might take a while for the new supplement to kick in and help so maybe try it a few nights in a row when you aren't going to work in the morning. Your bowl inspirations sound yummy!
Glad to see you Austin. Hope you are getting caught up a bit. After all that reorganizing that I did last year I have to start from scratch because everything had to be torn up and moved around for painting. Ugh!!! But it would have been far worse if I hadn't already pared down a whole lot of extra "stuff" upstairs. I have done a few of those Sansone videos from YouTube... kind of fun.
It has been a frantic week at the office. Today was a lot better than the last few days though. People seemed exceptionally crabby earlier this week.
B - skipped it
L - leftover GBOM concoction, a few Mary's Gone Crackers
S - almond milk yogurt
D - asian slaw, butternut squash ravioli (carry-out from a local health food joint)
Going to try to make some progress on getting my office back into some semblance of normal tonight.

Happy Friday, Plant-Loving Peeps!
I had a good health & fitness day yesterday. Did the Leslie Sansone 4 mile interval video again, as it had been fun and was a good get-me-sweaty workout, and also did some martial arts work.
B - green smoothie with broccoli, spinach, blueberries, ACV, spices; almond butter; goji berries
L - steamed mustard greens & black beans; yellow summer squash, grape tomatoes & diced onions; mushrooms with carrot & parsnip; steamed turnips & butternut squash
S - apple slices & pb
D - huge salad with homemade plant-based dressing (mustard-y one again!); steamed carrots & cabbage; steamed acorn squash, turnips & apple1 -
Happy Saturday, peeps!
Magic, how are you doing today? Sleep okay?
And a big congratulations on taxes! (I need to work on that. Not today.... *sigh*)
Menu today:
B - green smoothie with broccoli, spinach, blueberries, ACV, spices; almond butter; goji berries; apple slices
L - steamed turnip greens & garbanzo beans; yellow summer squash, grape tomatoes & diced onions; mushrooms with carrot & parsnip; steamed turnips & acorn squash
S - apple slices & brazil nuts
D - huge salad with homemade plant-based dressing (may go look around for something new to try); steamed carrots & green cabbage; steamed acorn squash, turnips & apple1 -
Hi All... Austin your meals sound so good! I am still on a very simple salads, stir-frys, oatmeal, etc. kind of life. Work on the upstairs should be done soon then work on the downstairs will start probably next month, and then I will have a brand new kitchen and I will be a lot more excited about cooking!
Today was so busy... ran to the office for the morning, grocery, then home to some projects and it was 3:00 before I realized I hadn't eaten yet. So my "meals" were a piece of toast at 3:00 and getting ready to eat a BIG hummus and veggie wrap.

Today's Plan...
Late start to work on my Sunday...love that!
Breakfast is going to be oatmeal...gotta stick with it...best way to gobble up the bad guys in our blood
Lunch is homemade bean and rice burrito...Ezekiel tortilla...sprouted big one.
Snacks are hummus and fresh veggies...well, carrots and celery ... and 16 ouncer of carrot juice straight up! Carrot juice is another gem in my arsenal of bad guy fighters. At least, from what I have read.
Dinner is an Amy's frozen GF plant based selection with three cups of spinach wilted in, heated in my hot logic.
Dessert is going to be fruit...grapes unless I get to the store and pick up a pineapple.
Plant buddies...you are all so sweet. Sleep last night was back to much better. But I have been taking the Alka Seltzer Plus Nighttime Cold fizzes again. Just two. Never more. Jeeeeeeeez, I have been taking them for so long...I also take something from Andrew Lessman that helps your liver...so I am thinking it possibly counteracts the bad stuff. Who knows. But I do think the carrot juice does help cleanse the liver so I am back to drinking 16 ounces a day ... and you know what, I think that is helping my knees...so that is an indication it helps the liver. It for sure is reducing the inflammation.
I loved Leslie's dvds...but reallyl too hard on my knees anymore. My walking has to be straight ahead with no stopping...and not too much of it. For example, just standing kills my knees more than walking. Anyway, great job, @AustinRuadhain on a super exercise regime!
Look at you go, @Mihani ...your home is coming along so nicely. And wow, I don't think I ever forgot to eat. LOL 3 o'clock, when the toast happened. You're funny.
Well, today is the eve, once again, of my Friday. Seriously, folks, life is zzzzzz ooming by.
We might even get rain this week...so I am totally jazzed that it will be on my weekend. LOVE LOVE LOVE that.
Alrighty, then. Time to get my second cuppa and get this show on the road.
BTW, everything is back to normal at work...I am happy again and that is just super in my book. Later, dollies!1 -
Magic, I just gave my juicer away. I tried it a couple times but it just wasn't for me. Hope you have a great day at work and glad to hear things have settled there.
I took a long nap this afternoon and now need to finish laundry and get up to my desk to get some work done. I made a pot of the glowing spiced lentil soup this morning and had a big bowl for lunch. Love that soup and it's so simple to make.
B - avocado toast, grapes
L - soup, small salad
D - not sure yet, probably another hummus and veggie wrap (I swear I could eat this every day no problem)
1 -
@Mihani what do you use for the wrap in your hummus and veggie wrap? Sounds divine!1
-
Magic, I throw whatever veggies I have in a wrap, but my favorite is hummus, peppers, onion, cucumber and romaine. I don't consider it a successful wrap unless it's so stuffed full of veggies that I can barely roll it!
B - oats with blueberries and chia seeds
L - Dr. McD hot and sour soup, a few Mary's Gone Crackers
D - glowing spiced lentil soup, small salad, an apple
Waiting for someone to come for an estimate on windows... tremble to think what this is going to cost. I have embarked upon home improvements with a vengeance, have I not?

@Mihani I meant what kind of wrap? Ezekiel? I can't find a good tortilla GF that works...except Ezekiel large sprouted and it is so tough. I have warmed it up a bit to get it to be more pliable...but still not great.
0 -
Oh sorry Magic... I use the Ezekiel brand.0
-
-
Today's Plan:
oatmeal, carrot juice
carrots and hummus
big salad
bean tostadas
air popcorn and tea
HAGDE! Make it deeeeeeeeee licious!0 -

Hey, Magic -- Your plan sounds great!
When I warm up corn tortillas for my son (who continues to be mostly vegetarian - yay!), I use a bit of spritzed oil on them and warm up in a skillet, flipping it once partway through (5 minutes? he likes long enough to brown a little bit; you may not want to do it for so long). I get hugely different results than a microwave oven. That could be a thing to try with your Ezekiel wraps?
Mihani -- windows went surprisingly quickly when we did them. I hope things go smoothly for you. You sure have a lot going on!
My menu is petty standard today, as there is tons going on!1 -

Thanks so much for the 411, @AustinRuadhain ...will definitely give it a try. Yay and wtg sweet boy...keep up the healthy life...you're so lucky to have a mom that cares!
Later, mates. Love you all!0 -
I am suffering sticker shock on the windows quote. Eek! I am going to get some more quotes. When you are expecting bad and it is worse than bad... eek!
Busy week at work. Haven't had much time to think about eating which is nice in a way, but not optimal as I am not eating all the good stuff I should. Going to eat a big salad tonight.
Need to keep moving, will catch up more later.

Hey @Mihani ! We had our windows replaced about 10 years ago, and it was a shock. I so sympathize! We got double-paned windows. We have loved having them!
Magic - let me know if the wrap warming technique works for you. I kinda love playing with the
Busy week for me, too!0 -
Yeah, I may be putting off windows for a bit Austin. I have so many projects going on at once I think I need to slow down and think about priorities and finish what is already started before taking on more projects.
Magic, how's your week going?
I indulged in some wine last night and will have the rest tonight, then I'm going to buckle down and I think do the full on Dr. F 6 week plan. I need to shake things up and get moving in the right direction again.
Hoping all are healthy and staying safe.
