Magical March

Happy Saturday!
Sounds like you are making good decisions/plans for protecting your health as much as possible, Magic. Hope you are sleeping better also.
Had a talk with my boss this morning and we're going to lock the doors as of Monday. We have some solid plans now for how to minimize traffic through the office and facilitate everyone working from home so we only have to have one person at a time in the office. I feel better now that we're not fumbling around and have real plans for how to best try to protect ourselves and our clients.
I admit my eating has been a little off. Two glasses of wine last night, and too heavy on the starches the past couple days. Back on track today concentrating on the veggies and fruit.

Yay, so happy you have a plan @Mihani at work...that is comforting.
I just typed for ten minutes...and lost it by hitting some stupid key.
Just know we are still open...will take a declaration made by the governor to close this joint...so I am being smart, safe and doing my best. I am sleeping better. Watching caffeine after noon...that is my cut off...and I am only having two cups of coffee...2 T each 8 ounce water in my French press.
Later dollies...TC and be safe out there. Hugs.
Thinking of you @AustinRuadhain0 -
Happy Saturday, friends!
@magic71755 - You are so smart, the way you are taking care of yourself. Give Lulu a cuddle for me.
@Mihani , big wow to you for having that talk with your boss and making sure your office gets managed as safely as possible. Even if your eating has been a little off, you are getting lots done, and your "off" diet is still really healthy. I hope today you got in as many veggies and fruit as you were aiming for!
I had a busy day working on a volunteer event and doing family things. I just took an hour for myself to do a fitness video, so I am sweaty and feeling calmer. I may go out for a walk later, too, if the break in the rain continues.0 -
Well, the governor issued a stay at home order effective at midnight tomorrow so I guess it's just as well we made plans. There are exceptions for minimum operations so my boss and I will alternate days going to the office to check on everything, get the mail, etc. and the rest of the time we'll all be working from home.
Things are so crazy, but I'm going to take this as a perfect opportunity to catch up on work. I just want everyone to stay healthy!
Today was all about the veggies. Steamed greens for breakfast, salad for lunch, stir-fry veggies for dinner. I'll also have some cantaloupe or an apple.

Hey there! I have been stress eating a bit, though healthy stuff. I weigh in every Monday, and am up this week. So I am looking to tweak intake just a bit, and get in a little more movement! Nothing huge.
Plan for today:
Movement: I am looking to get in an outdoor walk plus something else yoga-ish, maybe a Classical Stretch session.
Breakfast: green smoothie, almond butter & gojis, coffee with unsweetened cashew milk
Lunch: steamed greens, beans (need to cook some more today!), steamed zucchini with tomatoes & onions, steamed acorn squash & turnips
Optional Snack: a couple of Brazil nuts, and a few apple slices
Dinner: big salad, homemade dressing
Hey @Mihani - great job staying ahead of the curve!
@magic71755 - How are you and Lulu today? Hanging in there?
Keep taking care of yourselves!0 -
Ahhh... that stress eating is so real, Austin! I have friends who can't even eat when they are stressed. Wish I was like that. LOL
Glad to hear you are getting in some movement. I am doing my yoga regularly again and it helps SO much to relieve all that tension in my shoulders, neck and back, not to mention getting my brain to stop working overtime. Your menu today sounds delicious.
We've implemented our new policies for the next couple weeks. No access to office without an appointment, and no in person appointments unless absolutely necessary. Reduced hours and rotating days so only one or two of us in the office at a time, and mostly working from home for everyone. Honestly the actual order by the governor has so many exceptions I'm not sure it even means anything.
Magic, how are you and Lulu weathering the storm?
I am so back and forth with eating healthfully. Yesterday was perfect, today not so much as I indulged in some pretzels, but nothing for it but to keep on trying! I am having a big salad tonight and going to bed early. I'll be working from home tomorrow so I think I'll get up and exercise first thing since I won't be rushing around getting ready to go. I am going to use this couple of weeks as an opportunity to catch up on work while things are in slow motion around me, and to focus on my own mental and physical health.

Yay, made it to my weekend. I worked six hours overtime yesterday...so my work week was 46 hours in four days. But I did it. Home now...so happy.
All food these next three days...FRESH...no plant based Amy's nor Dr. McD. I appreciate that those options exist but now I have time to make everything fresh. Made a Sprouts run this past Sunday, so I am set.
On the menu for sure, my oatmeal AND a massaged kale salad. Really looking forward to that...making enough for three days.
Steamed veggies and rice...oh, and Ezekiel toasted with avocado and cukes and tomatoes...and Everything But The Bagel seasoning.
Fruit for dessert.
WE are still open...STILL. Service is busy and we are selling a few cars each day. Only a declaration from the governor will close us.
Wishing you all a great day...back to chat later. Hugs.1 -
They let my supervisor go today...we are expecting a receptionist back Monday, who has been out with knee replacement...
So far my hours are the same...
They let at least two salesmen go...maybe more...not sure.
I am feeling a bit sick to my stomach...my supervisor always went to bat for me...I am so going to miss her.
Today I had:
oatmeal with flax meal, raisins, cinnamon, blueberries, almond milk
baked potato with dark leafy green salad and avocado 1/2 and SOS dressing
Think dinner will be...oh gosh, not sure...at this moment, no appetite.
Now, I am worried about my job.
Later, mates.1 -
Oh, @magic71755 , that all sounds so stressful. I hope things settle down and that all goes well for you. There's so much uncertainty. Hang in there. Sending you a virtual hug. I hope Lulu is extra cuddly this weekend.
@Mihani - I hope today was a good day for you, too.
I stuck on my food plan today -- all good stuff and calorie count where it should be.
My victories today were successfully working on our dryer (specifically, cleaning the vent, as drying had started to get slow, which means the line is likely getting blocked with lint) and then getting through a grocery store run.
Take care, friends.1 -
So they let go...
Customer Service Rep & Supervisor of the Receptionists
Finance Advisor (There were four, now three)
Three salesmen
One Service advisor/writer (last one hired)
And a couple lot attendants
At this moment, I still am working, I go in Friday...regular hours. Hoping it stays that way.
Had avocado toast (Ezekiel sesame) for breakfast
Lunch, thinking potatoes and steamed cauliflower and broccoli
Dinner, may use Amy...not sure...with tons of fresh spinach
Did not sleep well...so going to go take a rest...made a market and Walmart run, early, got toilet paper...they allow one package...which is totally fair.
Got some caffeine free Bigelow Lemon Ginger tea with probiotics.
That's it ...really was just checking in... going to try and nap and then up and shower and feel like a human being and make that fabulous lunch.
Then it's laundry and ironing my blouses for work.
Take care everyone. Later, sweet peeps1 -
Oh geeze, Magic. So sorry for the folks you work with being let go during this. I hope that your job remains safe. This is a very fragile time for business, and I know many with small companies who are seriously stressing about how they can keep payroll going and they really do care about the people who work for them. I know some companies don't care, but those I know with small businesses are really troubled.
Good to hear you are staying the course through this, Austin. I have been so stressed the past couple days I can't eat much at all, which is good and bad!
I was in the office today and it was so quiet. Nice not having the phones go crazy all day, but another part of me is thinking eek... we need the phones to ring! I had the office to myself today which was actually pretty great.
Tomorrow I'll be working from home and I need to be more disciplined than I was when I was home yesterday. I've been in a bit of a funk and I just couldn't get myself motivated yesterday, but I think I'm settling into the "new normal" now.
Stay safe and well all.
1 -
Oh, @magic71755 - I am so SO sorry. I am sad for you, the people let go, and your coworkers. This sounds so hard for everyone. 👐👐👐
@Mihani - Take care of yourself. Yes, we will all find a "new normal" rhythm.
I am sending you both all my best wishes for health, peace and safety in these trying times.
I did well at food today. I got snippy with my husband, poor man, and got myself out for a walk, and came back feeling better. A little bit cabin feverish, I think. We all need to have so much patience and compassion with everyone right now. I think we are all tired and anxious and it seeps out sometimes. 😵 I will work to do better tomorrow. 🧘🏽♀️

Oh my dear sweet friends...you are so very kind. Everyone is having a difficult time; except, of course, the idiots that think this is a party...and end up passing the virus on to unsuspecting others.
I always am so grateful when I wake up symptom free...lord, I just can't say that enough. But sometimes, I think I imagine symptoms...do you guys do that? I go, what's that...is that a fever...am I swallowing correctly, is that a sore throat? Driving myself batty a bit.
Crazy, eh?
You both sound like you are doing well...albeit the rough spots that jump up here and there. But stress and anxiety are part of the package...we just have figure out a way of dealing.
Another horrible restless night...I did manage to get some sleep in the latter hours of my wake up time. It took forever to fall back asleep, once I was up at 1:30. Anyway, having coffee now.
Yesterday, I had Ezekiel avocado toast...a Dr. McD soup with loads of extra greens and cauliflower and broccoli with rice for dinner.
I need to make some almond milk this morning so I can get back to oatmeal. But man, is that Ezekiel toast good. Might make the milk later this morning (almonds have been soaking for two days)...and have the other half of the avocado.
Then, I am making massaged kale for lunch...and more rice and veggies for dinner.
Wishing you a safe day ... I have no plans to go anywhere at all...just around the block with Lulu...love you guys...take care.

I'm still working...only thing different is closing at 7 not 8.
Working on getting my meals ready right now...cooking up four days of rice, steamed veggies, and making my almond milk for oatmeal.
Thinking of having the oatmeal for lunch and making a green smoothie for breakfast. So many bananas that are frozen...easy to get greens...easy to make almond milk...loads of frozen blueberries and flax meal.
So, making my life easy...
green smoothie
oatmeal
rice and veggies and tofu...I have to check and see if my tofu is still ok...otherwise I'll add beans to my rice.
Stay safe dear ones.1 -
Mornin' all.
Austin, I have found myself getting a bit snippy with people too. Fortunately, I'm not around too many people right now. I am not all that social anyway so this isn't a big adjustment for me. I think it's just stress and anxiety with so much unknown about when we get back to "normal" and worrying about people getting sick.
Sounds like you have a good plan for the weekend, Magic. I haven't tried making my own almond milk, but I prefer water in my smoothies and oatmeal so I really only use it for recipes. I may try to stop at a store on my way home from the office to pick up a few things, but I don't really need to so it's probably best not to stop. Hope you get a better sleep tonight.
Today's plan:
Oatmeal
Big ol' salad with some beans
Stir-fry veggies with brown rice
Apple
Cantaloupe

Good Morning Beautiful People...
Hope everyone is doing well under the circumstances, of course.
Not much to report...they let go of another person yesterday, which was sad because she is a good friend of mine...she's actually back in the service area, not in sales.
So far, I do believe my job is safe. However, only thing certain is nothing is certain right now.
I put a sign up at my desk...SIX FEET PLEASE...no one was offended and actually were light-hearted about it AND respectful. An A+ for my co-workers.
Nothing else going on...wishing all of you a safe day.

Hi y'all... had a rather lazy day here. Got a few things done around the house and some work. Heading to the office tomorrow and planning to put in a full day. The past week has been so off kilter and I have to get some things moving along again at the office since I'm almost sure things aren't going to be back to normal anytime soon and we're going to have to figure out how to overcome obstacles.
Wow Magic... sorry to hear more people being let go.

Morning all...I woke up feeling good again...no symptoms. That is how I view the day...no symptoms and lord, thank you so very much. Forever grateful.
The biggest thing that I took away seeing a doctor speak what that WE SHOULD NOT TOUCH OUR FACE...that is really the GIGANTIC NO NO. The virus will get in through nose, eyes and mouth. I don't think that truly sunk into my pea sized brain until yesterday.
I am going to do short Sprouts run this morning...didn't want to, but I need some frozen veggies to use in my Hot Logic with my rice. Cheap meal, easy and totally healthy.
BBL...love you guys!
ETA: NOT going to Sprouts...will use up what is in the house...will go on my day off, Tuesday.
I did make an appointment for Lulu for a groom. I think that should be ok...any advice?1 -
Oh brother...can't make up my mind...did end up going to Sprouts (not busy and no cars on the road)...got lots of broccoli and spinach...cuties, frozen mixed veggies and edamame ...cucumbers, ... hmmm, what else...frozen potatoes...actually to be honest, french fries...lol...cook them in the air fryer...you know, I have to have some kind of treat...this seems to be a pretty good one...organic. LOL
I passed up all the chips and gluten free vegan cookies, at least. For some reason, I can control my french fry obsession...but not my chip or Enjoy Life chocolate chip cookie one either...had to throw the cookies out before I ate them all. Thought I could have just two. Uh, that did NOT work.
Anyway, I am totally set for the week...I may have to go shopping on Thursday for veggies again...but that would be it.
Off to get ready for work...
Stay safe dear ones. Later!1 -
At work...
Carrot Juice
Amy's Breakfast Burrito...this burrito is so good, I just have to have it...just took a picture...will post:
1 -
I also brought rice and veggies plus edamame...and cuties! I’m set!1
-
Good morning! Today is my day at home working so I plan to be at my desk by 8:00 and be a lot more disciplined this week. Last week I was so off kilter, but I'm going to have to develop some good work from home habits this week. I am going to take a walk and do a little yoga on my lunch break so that will be nice.
Steamer bag of veggies for breakfast today. Salad for lunch. I made baked tofu last night so I'll have some of that for dinner with sauteed greens.
1 -
My Friday! The receptionist who had been out with knee replacement comes back today. I hope she can do the job cuz I am leaving at 2. I’m tired and I need a weekend. Last a Monday she was supposed to be back and I worked her shift, so 13 hours. Not today!
I am eating loads of spinach and broccoli and rice today. Berries and oatmeal. Cuties and pineapple!
Have a safe, healthy day everyone!1 -
Receptionist came to work...late but she made it...I did not stay...I wrote notes on a sticky on the desk top...also, for her to call or text if she had any questions. Enjoy your first day back.
Then I was gone when she clocked in.
Hope with Lulu...having lemon ginger tea with probiotics...making rice and broccoli for dinner...that's it.
Fruit for dessert.
Night all. Stay safe.1 -
Hello, peeps!
@magic71755 - Hurray! Enjoy your weekend and some quality time with sweet Lulu!
I am SO glad that work is going okay for you.
Also glad that "don't touch your face" is something you are working on. It's a big thing at my martial arts school, and to the degree that you can work on that, you'll get sick less often in general -- not just the particular virus we are all worried about right now.
Oh yes, and super glad that you are minimizing shopping and other outings. Me, too.
@Mihani - Discipline is such a great thing for working at home. Starting at 8 sounded like a great kickoff for the day. I hope work went well, and that you enjoyed your midday yoga session!
I am puttering along here. I had a good food day in terms of choices. I am about to log my dinner in MFP and then maybe go for a date walk with my husband. That or soak in the bath and make an early night of it.
Remember my mentioning the Tiny Habits book? Some of the coaches who work with people on Tiny Habits are offering free webinars this week on topics that relate to staying at home and staying healthy. The sessions are all short and all talk about quick, simple, practical tiny actions you can take. If you are interested: https://www.tinyhabits.com/expert-help0 -
I signed up, Austin...that looks great, but I might be back asleep. Had a horrible night. We had a manager that was out a week ago for several days...he did not get tested. Came back, said he was fine. Well, they sent him home yesterday and not to come back for two weeks.
Great, just great...he did not touch me nor cough on me, but he stood close to me to show me pics of his new puppy. I knew I needed to step away, but I just could not figure out how to move away. NEXT TIME I will say, nope not now. Show me pics when this is over.
So, all last night I was freaking out...I have a slight headache at the moment...and I don't get headaches. But I think that is because of lack of sleep.
NOT going anywhere for three days. I may put in an order if they can deliver it by Thursday...I have insta cart for a year.
I was going to take Lulu in for a groom, I canceled that because of urging by my niece. I called my vet...if her nails become a problem for her to walk, bring her in and they will come to your car to get her and then put her back. But no groom for now.
Eating as clean as possible today...
oatmeal
cuties
potatoes and spinach and broccoli for lunch - my niece suggested that...I love spinach and potatoes...so will add broccoli to it.
pineapple
soup...will try and make my own broth with miso and who knows what else...OR Dr. Mc D's...and lots of spinach to it.
air popcorn and tea for dessert
I may just be imagining I have a headache...even now, I think I feel better.
Too much news...need to tune in to Tiny Habits.
You ladies take care...say safe.

Magic, hope you got some more sleep and that your coworker is okay.
Austin, I'll check out the tiny habits thing. I'm finding yoga to be the most helpful to me right now. Gets my mind and body calm and releases tension.
Got a new lawnmower yesterday, electric self-propelled. I charged up the battery when I got home yesterday and was excited to get out and mow today, but of course it rained and it's cold again. Grrrr. I think mowing the lawn would be therapeutic right now. Maybe later today or tomorrow after the office. Today I'm working from home but I haven't got started yet.
I have no inspiration for an April thread so if anyone has a good idea go ahead and get it started.
Today's plan:
B - oatmeal
L - salad
D - chickpea and greens stew over quinoa
Also a banana and an apple somewhere in there.
