Hey kids...still here...work week is moving right along...sales are down...but what isn't, except hand sanitizer and TP!

The GM is tired of hearing about salesmen talking about Corona and put his food down to get busy and start making calls and bring some people in.

My food is ok...using Amy's a lot, but adding loads of spinach to it and having carrot juice as well. I had bought grapes the other day...they were not organic and I threw them out. Was that stupid? I would have bought organic ones, but they did not have any.

I have a fresh pineapple in the house...will cut that up for tomorrow...wish I had some bananas...anything that is pretty sealed sounds like the way to go, if you can't get organic.

I am feeling totally fine (knock wood)...and with the help of my Alka Seltzer plus, sleeping pretty good. Last night I had 2 1/2 hours of deep sleep according to my app. Wow!

This weekend, working on cleaning and laundry and making food from scratch. Still will use Amy's but not as much.

Hope you are all ok...and that you are surviving all the craziness.

Love you guys. Later, mates!

Hey there! Happy Saturday!

I am hanging in there. I am about to go to the gym to do some easy-on-the-knees time on the elliptical (I am taking nitrile gloves to wear!), then home for a salad.

With all that is going on and with how my local store looks, I am not worrying so much about organic and being grateful I can get fresh fruits and vegetables at all. I'll be grateful when life calms down again, but think that could be a while.

It's been a wild week.

I am doing more meditation, and trying to remember to breathe from my center multiple times during the day.

Stay well and healthy, peeps!

Yeah, you're right...I just got a little paranoid I think. I am taking the elderberry gummies...which I think are helping ... trying to not be close to the people at work...keeping a distance.

Working on making the house sparkle this weekend. Stay safe everyone...breathe and don't watch too much news. Later, dollies.

breakfast burrito
celery and hummus
amy's frozen with 2 cups extra spinach
carrot juic

Hope all of you are doing well...be sure and make today DDDDDDD licious! B)

Hi All, busy with work as always. I ran to the office this morning and grabbed some things to work on at home because I'm just feeling kind of "home" right now. Of course I always do. I've been joking with people that I've been preparing for "social distancing" my whole life!

We only have 4 people in our office so I don't think we'll be shutting down or anything. I think we should probably encourage clients to interact via phone and email rather than coming in for the time being though. I know several people with small businesses that are going to be hurting and are really stressed. This is all so crazy.

Plan for today (and the coming week) is simple... oatmeal with berries for breakfast, stir-fry and brown rice for lunch, salad and fruit for dinner. I am going to use things I have on hand in the pantry and freezer as much as possible so I'm not out running around at stores. Hopefully my salad prepper friend will still be coming through for me.

Stay safe and well!

Back from the market...two stops...

Walmart, people look shell shocked actually...remember it's just a bit after 8 here. All I got was bananas (there were plenty for everyone) and a few Amy's plant based breakfast burritos. Love em...think they are a great way to go on my very early days at work. Heat them up in the Hot Logic.

But I am going to play around with making my own and freezing.

On to my Fry's (Kroeger market)

Also, another tub of spinach and a few Amy's GF plant based mac and cheese. I add so much spinach and zucchini to it...easy and I think, pretty healthy for crazy, long 13 hour days at work.

Two Nut Pods hazel nut for coffee. Got a heater/frother for valentine's day and now I am obsessed. Probably not the healthiest.

That's it...having my second cuppa now, then off to work.

Hope you are all having a good Sunday. Later, folks. Do let me know how you're doing.

Just saw this...sorry I missed it. Sounds like a fantastic plan, @Mihani! With my weekend coming up, I am finally going to use my insta pot and make up something fresh for the week. Not sure what yet. I need to get to Sprouts, early on Tuesday morning to pick up salad fixins. That is my usual routine anyway. Workweek, 7 am...I think it will be fine.

Time to get ready for work. Have a good day. And stay safe out there. <3

Yay! Now that sound like a plan!

Hi there @magic71755 ! Congratulation on scoring some bananas. There were none at our grocery store this morning.

@Mihani - Your comment about preparing for social distancing your whole life made me laugh. Me, too!

Off to work on lunch, and then going to make bread for my husband and son. It's a fun craft project for me, and they both would love some fresh bread.

Have a good day. Stay safe and clean! Wash your hands often (have you chosen a 20-second song to sing in your head? mine is "Stayin' Alive"*) and don't touch your face!

Morning all...my Friday...looking forward to this weekend to do lots of batch cooking and cleaning the house.

Right this moment, when I wake up, my knees are feeling great so I have about an hour of upright time to get things done...then I stop, rest, ice and regroup.

That will be my plan for the weekend. And I need a run to Sprouts for fresh produce.

I don't watch much news...really just catch up on the headlines...trying not to stress myself any more than is necessary.

This past year, I cut the cord on cable TV...I am on my niece's plan for Youtube tv...but something has gone wrong on the TVs and I can't get it to play. It will be a while before I ask her how to fix it...in the meantime, I have

Prime video, Neflix and YOUTUBE on the tv (I love watching the plant-based youtubers)...oh and IMB...

and the Apple TV YOUTUBE app works on my phone and ipad, so if I need to watch something on TV, I can.

I deleted my Facebook account and I had been in one online group other than this one, and not connected with Facebook, for weight loss ... I opted out of that group as well. They were not plant-based and really I found little support for the lifestyle I was following. In fact, they even had posted but where are you getting your protein...just seemed like a waste of time since there was no one aligned with my philosophy of eating plant-based.

I just have you guys for support. And you're the best!

More time to focus on my Lulu and me and making our home beautiful again.

Have a very healthy, deeeeeeeee licious day, sweet friends.

Hi all, a lot of really stressed out people right now with businesses being shut down or restricted. I feel like I shouldn't complain much as I can still go to work and I have food in the pantry and freezer, and I'm not scrambling for child care. I'm going to avoid going to the store for a couple weeks other than maybe a quick stop for greens and lettuce if my salad prepper takes the week off. I just can't believe this situation, and wish it was well over but seems like we're going to be dealing with it for a while yet.

Menu today was pretty basic... oatmeal with goodies (blueberries, spices, chia seeds), Dr. McD minestrone, salad, a slice of ezekiel toast. I made a yummy stir-fry last night so I'll be taking that for lunch starting tomorrow. Forgot this morning so I had one of the Dr. McD soups I keep on hand at work.

Back to oatmeal and my usual add ins tomorrow: oatmeal, flax meal, blueberries, cinnamon, raisins...

veggies and hummus

Dr. McD's Pad Tai with extra noodles (rice ramen) and spinach and mushrooms.

Steamed veggies and rice for dinner

Fruit: pineapple, cuties, bananas, grapes from which to choose

Maybe a carrot juice thrown in.

I think I should order more soup from Dr. Mc D...I never did get any coupons...oh well.

I need a good recipe for broth actually. Make my own.

I think my brain is on overload from this as I am sure yours is as well, my dear plant based friends.

Love you guys...be well and safe. Hugs.

Well, I woke up in the middle of the night with a bit of anxiety...pretty normal I guess for these times...but for some I just totally freaked. I put on Jim Gaffagan on Netflix...it helped a little but I did not fall asleep for along time. Just five hours of sleep.

But I am up, having coffee. I got a French Press for Christmas, finally using it and giving the Keurig to charity. Yum, on the coffee.

Today, I am going to get back to oatmeal for breakfast...thanks for posting that's what you're having, Mihani.

Probably use help for lunch...either Amy or Dr.Mc D...

But dinner, I am hoping to make some kind of homemade soup with veggies...OR, just steamed veggies with rice. Depends on how much knee power I have left. It will be something fresh, however.

Dessert...fruit.

I found this good immunity soup (last night when I was scaring myself from too much news) from Clean and Delicious ... Dani Spies...sweet mom and You tuber, with a following of 1M...yowzers...just a couple of substitutes and it becomes totally vegan.

Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-MTiXBCCHc&t=226s

Stay healthy my friends. Later, mates.

Sleep 😴 well everyone!

I got really sick to my stomach after lunch today and had to leave work. Not sure what hit me. I went to bed for several hours and feel okay now but I think I'll be sticking to oatmeal and water for the next couple days until I'm sure my stomach has settled. My salad prepper friend is on the case so I will have my salads for the next week tomorrow. I am heading back to bed soon.

I hope you sleep better tonight, Magic!

Oh, Mihani, I hope your stomach has settled down today!

Magic, I hope your knees are feeling a little better, and that you slept well!

I am about to head out on a grocery shopping trip. Wish me luck!

I did a walmart run and got everything I needed...no TP or santitizer still...but I have enough...it's just me. I did get some green tea, Yogi brand, with kombucha...kinda good. I think it is important to sip on water all day and or tea.

Hope you are doing ok...school is out? Your son is home, Austin?

We are still open for business ... not busy...but still open. Cadillac dealership...I'm the receptionist Fri - Mon if anyone doesn't know.

Just trying to remain healthy and symptom free right now.

I cancelled my nail and hair appointments. What else? Knees feel pretty good, considering I did a lot in the kitchen yesterday...so much more to do...but will listen to my body and not over do.

I got an email from Dr. Mc D ...they are getting slammed with orders..so there is a delay in shipping. I guess I will put an order in today.

That's it from my little corner of the world. My Lulu is keeping me company and safe. Love you guys. Take care.

Feeling better today but stayed home and spent a lot of the day sleeping. I was taking stock of what I have on hand here and I am sure I will be just fine for a couple weeks. I can make soups or stews from canned beans and frozen veggies, plus I have rice, quinoa, pasta, and plenty of oats, so I am going to try my best to stay out of the stores and go nowhere but work and home for the next week.

I wondered about ordering more Dr. McD soups, Magic. I have quite a few on hand already though. They just shut down nail and hair salons here. I sent a note to the gal who does my hair telling her if she needed help through this I'd send a check now for the next time I have an appointment.

Austin how'd your grocery trip go? I miss my frequent stops at the grocery. I usually make a big trip every two weeks but I stop several times a week for fresh produce, odds and ends.

Just ate some oats, a plant based protein shake, and some toast throughout the day. Taking it easy on my stomach.

Just got a call from my supervisor, because I had been asking her about us closing...fluid situation...they are in meetings right now at work...GM and Ford are suspending production until the end of March...so it will trickle down to us...and service. I will know more later.

Just like most everyone...I depend on my paycheck. I am certainly not working for the fun of it at this age. But everyone is being affected...and I get it. Better to be safe...totally on board with that. Just have to move things around a bit to make sure I keep everyone happy.

I'll tell you one little girl who is happy about the possibility of me being home for awhile: Little Miss Lulu

Luckily I have not used my vacation days yet (10)...that will help for sure!

In the meantime, breathe and have a cuppa tea.

Staying home the rest of the day and all tomorrow. I'll know whether I go in Friday, soon enough.

I did order three flavors...and that is it. No more spending. Now that I might be out of work for awhile.

Hang in there girls...stay safe and healthy.

Morning all...hope you are all doing well.

Having my green tea with kombucha...(after two cups of coffee...gotta have my coffee)...making lunch in a bit in my Hot Logic with extra spinach and zucchini...tonight, veggies and rice. Sticking to oatmeal, flax and blueberries oh, and cinnamon with almond milk.

Rip Esselstein and his brother in law (Jane's husband) had a great talk this morning...I will post it here. Much better than Dr. McD. These two had a lot of good stuff to share. Can listen as you work.

We are still open...but I will be wearing gloves at my very busy desk and people must stay back from me...my supervisor is totally with me on these points. I need the paycheck, but I was hoping we would close for a few weeks. I have vacation time coming and would use that. But oh well.

So today it looks like this:

oatmeal
homemade beans, tortilla, corn, cilantro in hot logic and salsa
rice and steamed veggies
banana for dessert

veggies and hummus

lots of tea...beginning at 12 noon, switching to caffeine free.

Later, mates.

Hey there, plant-based friends!

@Mihani - I did pretty well on my grocery store trip. It was a 2+ hour expedition, so there's that. I have a teenagers, and I have a small stockpile, but feeding a 14 year old will burn through that more quickly than I would like. This is someone who can eat 5-6 bananas in an afternoon and then be ready for dinner. (Think it's a growth spurt.)

I am so impressed at your thinking about the woman who does your hair.

@magic71755 - I totally get that you have to work. I am glad you are taking care of yourself with gloves and with paying attention to that social distance.

You are both probably thinking about all this, but the precautions to take around spreading HCoV-19 / SARS-CoV-2 are are similar to those for the flu:
https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/new-coronavirus-stable-hours-surfaces

We are hunkering down at home and taking all this very seriously. When I came back from grocery shopping yesterday, I stripped down in the laundry room and got clothes into the washer, showered (including a very thorough scrubbing of hands and shampooing my hair), and then disinfected my phone (as I had used it at the store). I don't feel hysterical, but do feel very motivated to do what I can do to avoid spreading this.

So, we all continue to east as best we can -- awesome choice for a healthy immune system!

I have also, in the course of this, become a regular meditator at long last. Resources on mindfulness and meditation, in case that's of interest: https://www.mindfulnessbell.org/be-mindful-online

Thanks for sharing the links, Magic. Glad you are taking steps to stay safe at work.

I am taking this seriously too, Austin, but I am unfortunately seeing way too many people who don't seem to care at all. I do wonder if there's going to be a full shut down here soon.

I need to keep busy, lots of work to tend to tonight.

Having coffee...gotta say, I love this French press...much better coffee than the Keurig. Lord, I have been using a Keurig since they first time they were on QVC...maybe 15 years ago...no sure. But a long time and over ten for sure. Anyway...

Just enjoying the quiet moment right now, with Lulu cuddled up next to me...heading to the shower soon and will get that hair dry before I go outside...still can hear my mom saying ... don't go outside with a wet head...(at least not in the winter)...and put slippers on...she never liked our feet on the cold floor. I actually think there is something to that...in any case, I love that little things our parents told us growing up, still are with us.

Made up a my lunch last night...I'm taking with me on my 13 hour day...

Oatmeal with my usual add ins
Dr. Mc D's soup with extra ramen (rice ramen from Costco)...and extra spinach.
Amy's frozen with extra leafy greens heated through at the end
celery and carrots and hummus (maybe a little PB, as well)
cuties and grapes

And lots of tea...I have been stopping any caffeine at noon and it is helping...but will have loads of green tea before then, at work.

Remembering to take a Clorox wipe to open the door when I go in...wipe everything down..use elbows to open doors...keep people away from my desk...and hopefully there are gloves for me to use to do all the checking of paperwork that comes across my desk. It has been to so many people's desks before mine. EWWWWWWWWWW!

I ordered gloves and they will arrive Monday.

That's it. I feel good, I feel strong, I feel positive and I am not worried ... my mind is in a good place to get to work, do my job and get home to my Lulu.

Everyone, have a great day.
