^insightful & hug worthy...but it would not let me click both...stingy MFP!

I am really going to try and just have the cherries when I get home.

Also, you are so good to log everything...I have no patience...maybe I need to find some. :s

Hi Ladies... glad this week is over. I brought home lots of work and will be busy all weekend, but at least I'll be home. Our secretary is on vacation next week which sucks for me. I'll be answering the phone and all that fun stuff. Ugh.

I read some of your links Austin... you write well I appreciate you sharing.

Hope your day went to plan and continuing to feel better, Magic.

Tonight is baked tofu, salad, steamed cauliflower.

I have to get serious about working out. I just feel weak and tired lately and I need some serious strength exercises to get myself back to firm. I feel all jiggly and gross right now!

I haven't mentioned, but I have my eye on a rescue dog. I haven't heard back yet, but my boy has been an only dog for several years now, and I think he would like some company. If this dog doesn't work out I'll continue to keep my eye out. I'm in no hurry and not 100% committed to getting another dog, but I think since I've decided to stay in my house for at least another 10 years we might be ready for a new addition to the family. :)

Thanks so much for your support you guys...you are terrific.

I just filled out my diary for the first time in forever...I estimated on some things...but it is mostly veggies. It's open to you two only...key is 0404.
I am not interested in any of my other "friends" asking me about PROTEIN! You are my only plant based friends...and your opinion is what matters to me. I feel good right now...and am HAPPY I LOGGED TODAY!

I have nothing planned for dinner as I get off at 7 tonight and tomorrow...we go back to 8 closing next week. Sundays I can eat later...but Fri/Sat I think I am better off just having fruit.

Ok, I am going to try this for a month and see how I do.

Oh, how exciting Mihani...a new addition to your fam! I need to do that. Will be interested in how your boy does...Lulu has been an only child...and I think she needs a sister.

Ok...back to contemplating my next move on getting these 20 - 25 pounds off my body!

I am going to go to our little gym and see if I can ride the recumbent bike...my knees do not bend that well...I am lucky I am not in pain most of the day...can't walk all that much...but not in pain...(it's the diet...low inflammation)...but I sure would like to work up a sweat and ride ride ride).

    Ok, later, dollies! <3

HOME...made a tortilla and black refried beans burrito...small amount of cherries...and now I won't be starving, trying to fall asleep. My calories were pretty light without the burrito.

    night all.

The tortillas were vegan and GF...and they taste funny. Going back to Ezekiel...you just can't go wrong with any of their products. I should have learned THAT by now.

Oh, yes! This will be fun to read at work, Austin...thanks so much for putting up the links.

Day two of no creamer, no no no. To be honest, I feel better (even though it is not as tasty) just knowing I am doing what I can to make me healthier. NO short cuts for sure...darn darn darn. :p
Day five of celery juice...here's what I am taking to work.

    celery juice
    carrot/orange
salad with a side of steamed veggies
two corn tortillas with bean/corn salsa I made (added onions, cilantro, celery, jalapeno juice)

Have a super day everyone. <3

    Make it delicious! B)

Yay, Magic! It is so powerful, when you know you are making a choice that works for you! I always feel like I have superpowers when I am doing that!

If you are interested, I can send you some links for no-legs workouts. I have an MFP friend who loves to exercise and is having leg issues, so she has been shaking down YouTube for the best arms-only and legs-in-a-chair workouts.

Mihani, not sure what kind of strength work you want to do, but I have been enjoying 10-minute arm workouts on Sydney Cummings's YouTube channel. Search YouTube for "sydney cummings 10 minute arms" if that sounds interesting! She also has a bunch of "no equipment needed" videos, which might be fun.

And ooooooh! to thinking about a rescue dog. What fun!

Since we are talking exercise, my workouts yesterday were:
    - One of Sydney Cummings 10 Minute Arms videos
    - Jenny Ford Marching/Floor Aerobics (she has a whole series filmed across the U.S>, which I am enjoying)
    - Some platform stepping (I have an aerobics step/bench)

Well, shoot! I left the beans and corn and all the good stuff for my salad AT HOME. It was so juicy, didn't want it soaking my lettuce all morning...so I used two containers.

    Darn Darn Darn.

Had some almonds in our drawer...had about an ounce...15...roasted salted. That should last me a bit...will eat my salad later...then watermelon and juice.

We are kind of busy at work, so that will help.

Still no reply from the dog rescue. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. She was awfully cute though, and just looked like she should be my dog. Sigh...

Made it to the grocery today. Got a watermelon yay! Also got stuff to make lentil soup and I will put together my salads for the week tonight, as well as make a salad dressing. And I got chard and collards. I need to get more cooked greens in addition to my raw salads. I like pretty much all greens so I just buy whatever looks most fresh and pretty. The kale looked a little sad today. I tried mustard greens for the first time a couple years ago and love the peppery taste, but usually mix them in with other greens like kale and spinach since they are a bit much alone.

The chair arm and leg exercises that Austin is recommending sound great for you Magic. A friend of mine did a course in exercise for people with mobility issues and it is very cool how much movement and fitness you can get from a chair. Sorry you forgot your salad but hope your day went great otherwise.

Austin, I usually do exercises from an old book called Strong Women Stay Slim or I have older videos from The Firm and also the 30 day shred. I know Jillian Michaels has had some bad press, but I have to say when I have committed to doing 30DS the results are ahhhhmazing. I have never progressed beyond level 1 which is quite sufficient to kick my butt! How are your projects coming along?

I better go get to my cooking and prepping. I had a sinus headache today and didn't do much but feel sorry for myself and nap until I finally forced myself to go to the store. I am feeling a bit better now, but going to have to work all day tomorrow to make up for not getting anything done today.

I think I might have had 2 ounces almonds. Not more than that for sure.

3:45 hours to go. I am going to try and make my steamed veggie plate with sweet potato when I get home.

Hope you continue to feel better, Mihani.

Oh, no, Magic! I hope you get more watermelon soon! In the meantime, I love your delicious food plan, including those delish-sounding oat waffles!

    4arxptpu81hk.gif

My adventuresome fruit this week is papaya. I had never bought one fresh. The flavor is much more subtle than the dried papaya I have eaten in trail mix or by itself for years.

    Today's Plan
    Food on plan
-- B-green smoothie, goji berries & almond butter, fresh papaya
-- L-steamed spinach with white beans; zucchini, onions & tomato; mushrooms & carrots; steamed butternut & cranberries
    -- S-apple slices & Brazil nuts
-- D-big salad with diced fresh beets, homemade mustard-y dresssing
    Exercise to make me sweat
    Life some weights
    Work on my office
Work on Scouts project (did a little yesterday)
    Gardening

    Sooooo cute...those watermelons!

I am getting into logging. And not dreading it. :)

Feeling better each day and beginning to feel like I am not spinning my wheels.

The 149 Starting Weight is for just this new attempt at getting to a better place.

Moving the almonds out of receptionists drawer... none today.

Have a great day you two...stay safe. Loved the song you posted in your newsfeed, Austin.

The waffles were sooooooooooo good. I made them this morning...doubled the water to make them thinner...batter goes farther...next time I am going to add spinach to the batter...I ate two cold with Nature's Hollow strawberry jam. They are kinda like bread. Very satisfying.

The banana is what sweetens it, so if bananas don't work for you, just use something else. I actually made this batch in the blender...works better than the food processor. I am excited about this. Portable breakfast but also, if you need a something something sweet...this would totally work.

I brought everything today...next up, my salad. Already had my celery juice.

So for the batter today I used...

    two cups oats
    4 T flax meal
    2 t vanilla
    2 bananas
    16 ounces water
did not have orange zest...so used lemon...orange IS better

all in the blender...nice and smooth, kinda like pancake batter...in fact you could make pancakes with this stuff.

    highly recommend

Oh...it made four waffles today...and I have a ton of batter left...enough for 6-8 more I suspect. I stored in a lock and lock bowl.

this is my waffle maker...it does not stick: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MVWGUS6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I like papaya, Austin. Your plans sound good. I did some shoulder and neck exercises today when I was feeling really tense and stiff at my desk. I used to make sure I did that several times a day at the office and going to get back into that habit. I carry so much of my tension and stress in my neck and shoulders and I am certain it contributes to my headaches. I will also do a P.M. yoga session before bed tonight.

The oat waffles sound delightful, Magic. I am going to try the recipe as pancakes one of these days. I got that cookbook last year and have tried a few of the recipes. I like your idea of adding some baby spinach to the batter. I really try to add some greens to most anything possible.

I have been doing a lot of work today and will continue working into the evening. Just taking a break for a late lunch/early dinner.

B - ezekiel toast with arugula, slice of tomato, avocado
L/D - big ol' salad with punchy mustard dressing, 1/2 a baked potato, peach

Last night, I ended up having to have a mission tortilla with refried beans...I could NOT fall asleep. Weight the same this morning.

    Plan today: (at work)

    black coffee
    celery juice
    carrot/orange
    oat waffles and strawberry jam
trader joe's herb lettuce and romaine with all my toppings

    home:

Ezekiel air fried corn tortillas and trader joe's cowboy caviar
baked sweet potato, steamed broccoli -- maybe some plant based nacho cheese, green beans
    cherries

Hope everyone is safe...we had to close early last night and move a lot of 2020 Escalades into another location for safety. The police were here and giving all the businesses in the area a heads up that they had info that the area and mall would be looted. Lots of proactive stuff when on to prevent. It ended up being a quiet night...there was a police presence everywhere. I work in Glendale AZ and live 3 miles from work in Peoria. AZ

Like I said, I hope you are all safe. My heart is just sad for our country.

Glad you are safe, Magic. It has been a hard few days. I cut myself off news for the day.

But I had a good WFPB day.
B - oatmeal with blueberries and walnuts
L - Dr. McD hot and sour, a peach
D - big ol' salad, a couple lundberg rice cake thins

Baking a couple potatoes to have for lunches the next few days. Will top with salsa and veggies.

I am glad you are both safe. I hope you are both continuing to find ways to cope and to take care of yourselves.

Unrest where I live, too. Lots of talking with upset friends and family, here and elsewhere in the country.

On the plus side, I got to the 7 AM church service this morning and then got grocery shopping done and all the veggies and packaged items washed and disinfected. And I made a nice vegetarian meal that my son loved. So small homey goodness there.

And I had a good WFPB day:
B-green smoothie, gojis and almond butter, some sliced papaya*
L-turnip greens (so excited to find these in the store today!), white beans, mushrooms & carrot, steamed squash with onions & tomato
    S-apple slices & pb
D-big kale, romaine & spinach salad, homemade WFPB dressing, steamed acorn squash with diced apple & jicama

*I am going to try adding lime juice to my papaya tomorrow. It's supposed to make it smell and taste better. I don't find it awful, but I do find the smell odd.

Hey guys...well, I just pray you all continue to be safe. I have tried to write like five times, keep erasing. I am worried. Really worried. The bad guys seem to be in control. I worry for the safety of all the good guys...the shock of some of the images is beyond comprehension.

My heart is just terribly sad for our beautiful <3 country...I am just so angry at those that wish to destroy it.

Ok...I hope that was all ok to write.

I am going to take a trip to Sprouts...I need to do something normal today...going to get a watermelon or two to help get my head out of this bad place it is in. Funny, how food truly is medicine...especially now.

I was thinking of making spinach and mushrooms AND hash browns for breakfast. I have seen it made, but never tried it. Might do that.

Going to try and use my french fry cutter today. Also, still no creamer nor Alexia fries in the house. Maybe a little too many Amy's refried low sod black beans. But that is all. No weight loss again. I need to stop weighing daily, but I think I may be addicted.

Oh, and our "complex" gym is back open. I am going to see if my knees will bend enough to use the recumbent bike. You guys, I used to have my own upright Lifecycle...not sure if I told you...and when I was teaching, I was up at 4 am...an HOUR on that thing...a totally drenching sweaty workout, which I loved, and then get ready for work. No more. But if I could just use the recumbent again, I would be happy.

My menu...not sure. There will be a leafy greens...and beans...and mushrooms...and blueberries...and flax...and onions...HEY, I am a Fuhrman Superstar, without even trying...it is so ingrained in us, eh?

Ok, my lovelies...I wish I lived close by to you all...we could have a driveway get together. My very sad heart could use that right about now.

    Later, my dear sweet peas!

Made mushrooms onions hash browns and spinach

    Not so great

In fact not great at all

    Big disappointment

    Lunch...waffles and salad!

Getting a pedicure...heart is just so sad

I went to pay a bill in person...practically broke down in tears!

Next ..will check out my gym

    Later dollies

    Hey Magic,
I am sorry the recipe was a bust. That happens sometimes, but it is always good to be engaged in trying new things, so hurray for that. I hope you score another watermelon non your shopping trip. As you say, food is medicine.
If it's not too hot, maybe spend some time outside? I am trying to get outside every day, and find that wonderfully soul-restoring.

Mihani, I hope this finds you well, and as peaceful as you can be.

    Best to all,
    Austin

Loved that you both chimed in...well, I did not have waffles and salad...I had Gardein burger on ezekiel...ketchup, LTO. It was very good. And some cherries.

    Dinner...hmmmmm...not sure. Maybe tostadas...who knows.

I went to get a new ID card for our gym...(I can't find mine...haven't used it in forever)...well, so many hoops to jump through because of COVID...re-DICK-u-lous. Probably be another week before I have the ID in my hands to go inside.

I did get a watermelon...will open it up tonight. Nothing else. Hot outside. Pedicure was good...they use a lot of precautions at my salon...so I felt completely safe. And my poor 71 year old feet needed help.

I hope the night's rest helps you out, Mihani.

Thanks for suggestion, Austin...morning is still ok to be outside...will do that tomorrow. Our temps are pretty crazy right now.

I think my sadness is actually turning into depression. That's why I really wanted to get to that gym. I have a little portable recumbent thing...but not able to peddle. I still need the ID to get into the pool...so hopefully, I can do both next weekend.

Maybe dinner will be veggies platter with potatoes and vegan cheese sauce. With a side of cukes. I don't know.

Ok, that's it. I'm done. Sweet dreams all.

    Morning, glories...

Well, I tried to put the darn french fry cutter together...but it seems someone already screwed in one bolt that the arm was supposed to thread through. And I cannot get it apart. I posted a question on the site on Amazon. But I am tempted to take it all back to Kohl's today. And forget the whole thing. Sooooooooooo disappointed.

I was looking for a YOUTUBE on how to put it together...cuz the it looked odd to me...why was this bolt already IN. And sure enough, it was not supposed to be. Putting it together would be quite simple if someone had not secured the bolt without the arm.

I am going to go with my waffles today...Gardein burger for lunch and salad (fresh and seamed ingredients) and potatoes for dinner. I also might make a green smoothie - spinach, banana, pineapple, water.

Watermelon, cherries to round out the day.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Magic, I am so sorry about your french fry cutter. Definitely sounds liker it needs to go back to Kohl's! Enjoy the watermelon and waffles!

Mihani, I hope you are doing well with work, yoga and your WFPB menu.

I got in a bit of walking. I am about to go eat my WFPB lunch, and then on to some work on a Scary-Behind Project.

    Take care, all.
