@podperson1 Whoops. When I lost my post and recreated it, I forgot my note to you. I hate that you're feeling like rubbish (though secretly love that you say 'rubbish' and that @Freeglerock says tea and pudding and doesn't mean Tetley or custard). I hope your week brightens up and that you enjoy the weekend. You'll hit your stride again soon! Hugs.

@ProfDawnLee I am the same about dinner time. I am "good" all day then I eat too much at and around dinner. I think by the end of the day I'm just tired and that contributes to my decisions. One thing I noticed was that I really wasn't eating enough earlier in the day, and once I started having a bigger lunch or a snack around 3pm, I did a lot better with not snacking while I made dinner. You've got this, though!

Y'all be sure to eat a rainbow today!

@pacsnc6 Thanks so much for your update, Patsy. I was wondering how your scan went. I'm glad your labs were good and that you get to miss this week's chemo session. It sounds like you have a good medical team too. Your positive spirit really shines through here and I believe that's your secret weapon. My daughter is like that. Sending positive thoughts to you as you head into the next six weeks of treatment. Hugs.

not much of a loss but at least it went down. been having a rough few days, a few personal problems. then at work the staff *kitten* about the silliest things ever, who cares if there is a lunch box on the floor, pick it up!!! let me tell you today is not the day and i am not the one. anyway i wont burden you with all my troubles, lol. i am trying to drink lemon water every morning and i have gotten fruit in the last two days. a girl at work says she found a diet that she eats all carbs one day and all protein the next and she has lost 7 pounds in one week. i asked her the name but that's all the info i got out of her, besides she found it on facebook. not very helpful. i would like to research this diet before i try anything. the gym opened back up to half capacity but the classes haven't started yet so no zumba. i am waiting, they said soon. not soon enough if you ask me.

@ljdanny Great weigh-in. You sound determined right now! I think you're right about the FB diet perhaps not being very helpful. I hope you can get back to Zumba soon. It sounds like fun. I think I might be hopeless at it. Coordination isn't my strong suit. I try to have two days a week with more carbs (I save the calories from the other days to fit more in on those days.) I find it's good for bulk, or as my grandmother called it, roughage. Plus, I'm not sure about this scientifically, it seems to kickstart my metabolism ~ either that, or it's something to look forward to and keeps me on track on the other five days. Have a great week.

Actually quite pleased with this weigh in as my biggest goal for June was to get into and remain in the 160's. It was higher in the week due to too much sodium but I worked hard to overcome that. Goal for July will be to get lower into the 160's.

Like many of you I am having such a devil of a time with this site.

Beautiful picture @sleepymom5. I miss the water
@pacsnc6 Thank you for sharing your update. Been thinking about you and send positive energy your way.
@podperson1 Welcome to the 170's!!!! Good luck with your counseling session.

    Wednesday check in

Yesterday was such a weird day. Twice this month where I've experienced chest tightness and shortness of breath. Symptoms last a day but go away as quickly as they appear and today I feel pretty "normal".

Hubby is at his dad's this week helping with a home project but was expecting to be home by my birthday tomorrow. He called last night to say the project was taking longer than expected and doesn't know yet when he'll be home. Its not like we had anything special planned but because of his job he hasn't been home on my birthday for a couple of years. I guess I was looking forward to him being home and not spending my birthday alone more than I thought. Oh well, now I have a few more days to be disciplined and eat well. Taking care of my health is a pretty good gift to myself I think.

    Daily goals
10,000 steps/day X Nope, only 5,306 steps but I did make sure to get my 250 each hour
    30 minutes of exercise/day X again, nope
Pre-log food and eat according to plan ✔️ Did well with food despite feeling bad
3 days of 14:10 IF, 2 days of 16:8 IF and 2 non fasting days (TBD & Sun) ✔️ 16:8 IF
50% of Dr Greger's daily dozen ✔️ It can be hard to get 50% on the days I do a longer fast but I made a big salad for dinner

    Wednesday check in
    Food - On target
    Water - 2l
    Exercise - 30 min walk, 9,574 steps!
It took me all day just to get on this thread! Busy day yesterday, but it was a good one. It is the last day of school today, hurray! We are having a distanced party in our backyard tonight for my older son’s grade 8 graduation. He has lost interest, but knows that cash gifts will be involved, so he is happy. I just had a huge, buttercream cake delivered for the party. I am totally saving a bunch of calories for a big slice!

@nstephenson01 - Happy Birthday in advance! I am so so sorry that you husband cannot be there tomorrow. I hope that you can do something fun on your own and am sure you will have a nice celebration with him when he returns. You are doing so well overall, and am very impressed with your IF in particular. And it is fantastic to stay in the new weight decade. Re the tightness in your chest, you may want to get that checked out if it happens again.

@podperson1 - Congratulations on the new weight decade! I hope that the online counselling goes well and it is a really good idea to do that. I am the same about opening up, but it can be done with time and the right counselor.

@ljdanny - I am sorry that you are having a rough time of late. I hope that the Zumba starts up soon because I know that you really like it. I have never heard of that diet before.

@pacsnc6 - Thanks for updating us and while the news is not what you hoped for completely, it is good news that the tumour did not spread. I will keep praying for you through this next round of treatments and please continue to keep us posted. Huge hug to you.

@1theresamcvean - Great job staying in the new weight decade and you are not far from goal! The city really does feel different in Phase 2, I agree. Thanks for that article on aging. Even though it is a way off for us, part of my 2020 goal is to think about what retirement looks like for me & my husband. I don’t have much of a recipe. Just throw a bunch of chopped frozen bananas in the food processor, put in a splash of any kind of milk, and put in a few teaspoons (or more of flavouring) like cocoa, vanilla, PB2. Or you can throw in a cup of berries. If you do it right, the consistency is like soft serve and is delicious!

@sleepymom5 - That photo is glorious! Enjoy your time with your family!

@melaniedscott - I am sorry about the gain and the GERD and that gain. I hope that you can find some relief by Sunday.

@Profdawnlee - Plateaus are the worst, but don’t give up! Getting suppers on the table can be really hard, and I am so with you on this. I try to keep it really simple in the summer. My ideas are not perfect but they all take about 30 minutes. Here they are: breakfast for supper with side salad or veggies (eggs cook fast); tacos (have ground beef or meat alternative in freezer, it does not take long to cook, use flatbreads if you don’t have taco shells, add lots of veggies); have frozen foods on hand like fish filet, chicken breast or fingers & serve with crudité (carrots, celery, peppers) & a dip like hummus (my kids love this supper for whatever reason); Stir fries (chicken, tofu or any proteins, with any veggies on hand, it does not take long, serve on noodles); quick fry cuts of meat like thin steak or chicken filet, put on a whole wheat bun, server with veggies or salad). Frozen meals like a frozen lasagna or meatballs also work well. I go to an Italian grocery and stock up from time to time, usually in the winter.

@tryingagain5 - The 28 day challenge is a great idea! If you decided to do it, you can post for accountability here.

@KUMEcyclingteam - Cool bike! I kind of would like to see a photo of that, but realize you cannot really do a selfie when you are sinking!

@GingerPwr - I am so sorry about you have to go to the ER, but glad that you are ok. You are right, it could be stress. There could be other things like mild asthma or an allergy too. Best to get it checked out further. And yes, you are absolutely an athlete and your awesome resting heart rate proves it!

@melaniedscott I can really relate. I had the worst problems with GERD. It got so bad that I was gagging and throwing up at the beginning of each meal. I finally realized that I was really having to battle it out when I ate eggs, chicken, fish, and turkey. After a while I thought, why in the world am I forcing myself to eat something my body is rejecting. I wasn't sure if it was gluten, garlic, onions, spicy food? I ended up on Prilosec with minimal relief. I saw a specialist and she wanted to start me on something stronger. I was dreading eating. I finally made a decision to go vegan. "All better!". It's funny that Molly and I were just talking about that this morning. My meals used to be nightmares. And now I love eating too much. I don't miss those days at all. And with no meds. But everyone has to find what works for them. Hope you find your answers soon.
@gingerpwr What a scare with your heart. I had the same "athlete's heart" label as well. It was such an ego boost lol. I am really glad to hear your doing ok. My daughter does a lot of running and her rate is consistently in the low 50's as well. Mine used to be in the 50's but my scare happened when it started hitting low to mid 30's. Mine is now set with a pacemaker not to go lower than 60.

@1theresamcvean whoa...that picture drove me nuts! You know I was gonna love all over that! So very pretty!!!
    @gingerpwr I always love a rainbow!
@Freeglerock I too loved your peas and violets pictures! So pretty. We got sugar snap peas with our CSA. I fixed them for dinner with nothing else. Sauteed them then drizzed some tamari and roasted sesame oil. So scrumptious.

I love to cook so much. Especially for people that I love. I made soup and Mississippi mud bars last week for my teams. One girl is a "float teller" that we borrowed from another branch. She happened to be there the day I brought food. She made my day. Sent me a note telling me it was the best food she ever had in her whole life. hahaha.
I wish I could cook for all of you! I fantasize that I hit my goal, then you hit your goal and I make you a fabulous celebration feast, even though we are not supposed to use food as a reward.
@pacsnc6 my prayers are with you girl! You hang in there.
@sleepymom5 beautiful picture! I think the shore is your happy place!

I am busy hanging in there dealing with branch team issues. But all part of the job. I am bringing chocolate cupcakes to work tomorrow for someones birthday.

I got my haircut yesterday by a pricey hairdresser that my mom uses. She is a pro. I love it. I will post pic when I can.

@timibotkin i cried when my first foster dog got adopted, but now I’ve been doing it for a few years and I am mentally prepared to help them get healthy, give them love and help them find a new family. Not that I don’t get sad! On the day I turn over a dog I have to plan an activity to keep myself occupied so that I don’t get emotional!
