Needed more motivation than just walking today so I switched it up with a HIIT workout of sorts combining several short routines with boosted miles by nick. Basically jogging and a little walking and a lot of jumpy aerobics and then a little time with my foam roller at the end. OUCH I really should do that more often.

Has anyone else ever walked with nick?

I’ve never walked with Nick, I prefer Leslie and Rockie.

Before I post my exercise for July I do want to thank everyone who has kept this July monthly challenge going. Overall July has been another difficult month, and again I let posting slide 😧. I am sorry.

I skimmed through some pages but I really wanted to read them much more carefully, but if I did so I would never get around to posting my update, and so I skipped to this last page and started working backwards just a bit.

@AnnofB, as I started backwards, I quickly skimmed back several pages because you were noticeably missing 😥. Now I know why. I will be praying for you and awaiting an update dear friend. Hugs are being sent to you 🙏💖🌸

Everyone is doing amazing exercise and miles 🏃‍♀️. Well done y'all!

I am still struggling with my L. ankle, and now my other one seems to be joining in. Because of the different kinds of, and locations of, the pain I sometimes almost stumble when I get a burst of shooting pain, and then it sometimes feels like I'm going to lose my balance. The diagnosis has been osteoarthritis. I need to continue to experiment and learn how to manage it.

Lately my focus has been just doing anything that I can to keep moving since I cannot do aerobic exercises yet. I do a lot of working, in any way I can find to, in the house but especially in the yards or the flower garden to keep moving, and to help maintain my emotional health. Not aerobically exercising, along with the severity of the pandemic in Texas can play havoc with my thinking or emotions if I don't get outdoors or keep busy.

So when you see what I write for my exercise in July do understand this is definitely not intense or hard work. Well... once in a while it actually has been hard work 😅 such as when we were fixing up the side yards.

I decided to start some very easy walking outside the past two mornings. I don't know if it is a good idea or not to try again, but I need some sustained movement unlike what I can get in the garden. If it is not good for me to try at this time, believe me I will soon know 😵.

Again, thank you all for continuing our monthly walk challenge.

    💖

Hi Mary! Thank you much for your prayers. 🌺

Hate to hear you are having a time trying to manage the problem with your ankles. This is probably a stupid question, but can ankles be replaced? I'm sure it's a big thing and not undertaken lightly, but I know you have a lot of gardening left in you to do. 😉 Maybe you can be referred to a rehab center that specializes in osteoarthritius Seems like there would be some guidelines for building up the muscles in that area. Hoping you find a plan that gives you release from the pain and gets those ankles strong again.

So true about taking care of our emotional health especially now. While I would whine from time to time about working out, I know now how much it did for me mentally as well as physically. I'll never take good health for granted again. Stay strong, Mary! We are with you, cheering you on. 👟👟

Thank you, Ann 🦋. I don't think I'll take much of anything for granted any more, especially with all that is also going on nowadays.

I've wondered the same thing about ankles being replaced. I've not heard of it but that doesn't mean it's not happening somewhere.

I used to whine about about working out from time to time also, I never realized how much one could miss it 🤦‍♀️.
