@Katmary71 day 3 was the only really bad day so far because I felt so nauseous but it passed after a couple of hours. It is hard but I still have a limited amount of fruit 1-2 portions max. I actually sliced a apple yesterday and had 100% peanut butter to dip it in but I found the peanut butter quite sweet even though it’s made from just the peanuts which I haven’t noticed before. My husbands still shoving chocolate in his face which is annoying 😭

@TeresaW1020 Thank you, sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be here because lately, I've been gaining instead of losing. I appreciate your kind words! I'll be thinking of you today and hoping your root canal goes well. I've had several. They aren't too bad if I remember right. Best of luck!!!
@Katmary71 My husband got me this meditation cushion for my birthday and I take it out on the walkway outside my condo and I lean my back against the condo (I need to support my back or it will hurt). I use the Headspace app to do guided meditations, I'm on a program right now that is called Mindful Eating. It gives a helpful tip at the beginning and end of the meditation. Is sitting on the ground too hard? Have you tried a meditation cushion? Mine is about a foot thick and really helps. It allows me to sit cross-legged (and that is something I usually can't do) and I'm really pretty comfortable. Yeah, medications are the worst for gaining weight...and it's not like you can go off them. I'm glad the steroids are helping.
Hi all. I had a pretty bad day yesterday as far as my goals were concerned: I wasn't feeling well at all and just sort of laid on the couch like a lump. I didn't even meditate and that means I broke my meditation streak which bums me out. I'm still not feeling very well today but hopefully, I can accomplish most of my goals.

I went to visit my daughter for the week. I was expecting to be up a little after the 8hr drive last night. I always gain some water weight when I travel. I'm not sure what causes it but I'm happy it was only 2 lbs.
I didnt track or have a food plan while I was gone but tried to stick as closely as poss to how I normally eat. It's always more challenging when I'm away from home. That's something I need to work on.
Except for the first day and a bit of walking, exercise was nonexistent. I'm looking forward to getting back to my routine. I always like the fresh start of a new month and October is my favorite.3 -
@Jactop - sitting for a long time, leads to water retention, but sitting in a car or a plane have even more obvious results. Glad you got to spend time with your daughter and also minimized the travel impact on your body. Good work!

Hello new members!2 -
Hi, I'm Lisa and I live in Jacksonville, FL with my hub of almost 29 years. Struggled with weight most of my life- have removed pounds several times and then they come back. This round seems especially challenging as I have been working hard for awhile now, but still testing ingredients until I find the "secret sauce" recipe that keeps me going in the right direction.
I think we have a new member from WI? That's where I grew up!4 -

Happy dance! The cold water really burns through calories as your body tries to warm up. I've done two wetsuit swims now, too, and it burns through some calories, too. It is a completely different type of swimming. There is a LOT of drag, and I am SWEATING when I get out of the pool now and completely wiped out. It's really increased the challenge level without changing the duration of my swim. I'm loving it!
@adhmrh Denise, I'm glad you made it to Slimpossibles! I hope you enjoy it here! I know how the weather can put a damper on enjoying the water outdoors. I just invested (and it was an investment) in a wetsuit to keep enjoying my pool. It has kept me sane during the pandemic. Right now our water is a brisk 68 degrees, and it is very swimmable with a 5 mm wetsuit. If that's not possible, maybe there's an indoor water option that is pandemic appropriate?
@gharvey2753 Nice loss! Welcome to the Slimpossibles! Tell us about yourself.
@apple852hk Good loss! What a great accomplishment to be approaching maintenance. It must feel amazing!
@emj90210 Welcome aboard, Emily! It sounds like you have a solid plan. I look forward to getting to know you better.
@GabiV125 You're killing the 100 days challenge. Way to go!
@marmar1977 Welcome to the group! I hope you enjoy it here!
@davidji82 Glad you've joined us, David! It's always nice to have new faces.
@judi_kay_4 I think a lot of us can relate to commitment issues! I never committed to an exercise program until this summer. I was the queen of donating my money to a gym and never going. I just had to find the right thing to commit to, and now I can do it. I'm not saying that some days I don't have to talk myself into it, but I do it.
@miriammuhindi Oooooh! Another new face! Welcome to you, too!
@Megan_smartiepants1970 Congrats on the promotion! I hope you have a successful October, too! Onward and downward!
@itsmegina The people here are fabulous and will really help you when you are struggling. I can have a bit of a sweet tooth, too, at times, especially for snacking. Snacky fruit (grapes, cherries, berries) helps me a lot with this. It still has calories, but there is food value instead of being empty sugar.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Hang in there! Next week is going to be better!
@Firefly743 Days with no obligations can be so restful for your soul! It sounds heavenly!
@Katmary71 The snakes have more sense than I do...they know the water is freezing...lol
I'm glad the steroids are finally working for you. You deserve some relief! I always have to take potassium and magnesium when I'm on steroids because they give me horrible charley horses, so watch out for those.
@trooworld I'm sorry you are in so much pain. Chronic pain can really leech the energy from every part of your day. That cushion sounds great though! I hope it continues to help.

I thought last week may have been a fluke but happy I lost another pound!! It was a slow last week since my eczema flared up and it was irritating me so much. Feel much better today so I’m motivated to keep going on my journey! Have an awesome week everyone😘6 -
@anido1 Yayyyy for another great weigh-in! You are on a roll!!
@miriammuhindi Wow zero carbs!! That is a very ambitious goal that you have for yourself. Are you doing a carnivore or a strict Keto diet?
@buniphuphu Wow!! You are doing so great and making me wish I had a pool nearby to take a dip in.
@Cornanda Yes, if only we could find the “secret sauce” to permanent weight loss! You just keep on trying and you will find it!
:star I LOVE seeing the celebration post of all the hard work that the F2F members have done!! It shows me that if they can do it so can I. :grin I hope you all feel the same!
Well, this hasn’t been a very good day. I went to get that root canal done and the doctor told me that my tooth was so severely cracked and has to be pulled. So, I have to go tomorrow for an extraction and then I have to pray that getting an implant doesn’t take all my money! I stayed on plan today except for working out. I plan to get that done tomorrow morning before the dentist's appointment.
100-Day Challenge Goals: Day 13
1. Fast clean for 19+ hours, with 2 days at 23+ hours. Fasted 21 hours
2. Workout six days a week (either BOD program, treadmill, or deep cleaning). I took today off.
3. Eat at least 90% on plan, which means mostly low carb with one or two days of high-carbs. I was right on plan today.
4. Have quiet time with God through prayer and reading. Did my Bible study for 30 minutes.

@adhmrh Welcome! Congrats on your progress so far
@apple852hk Woohoo! Congrats on reaching maintenance - that's amazing. Definitely stick it out in the group for support, it's easy to slip back into old habits!
@TeresaW1020 Your new screened-in porch sounds lovely. I need to get some indoor plants to liven up my home! I do not have a green thumb whatsoever, so I'll need to find some low maintenance plants! Sorry to hear that your dental appointment didn't go as expected. Hopefully the extraction will give you some relief in the meantime until you have the implant.
@Firefly743 Sometimes we all need to take a step back and do NOTHING for a while! Definitely don't consider it a lost day, your mental health is important too and it sounds like you've been stressed with all the work lately so taking a break is just what you needed.
@buniphuphu I had never thought about how wearing a wetsuit could change the intensity of your workout! You're doing amazing, keep it up!

Hi all, I'm Christie (or Twisty) - I live in rural western New South Wales, Australia. We're well into spring here and the weather is really heating up now. Our local pool has just opened for the season so I'm hoping to get there a few days a week with my son, who is almost 2. We often go for walks after work, and he loves to explore!
I work as an accountant at a gold mine, which is interesting work, but means that I'm sitting at a desk for 9 hours a day! My hubby is a stay-at-home dad to our son (childcare here is limited and EXPENSIVE so this was our best option as the childcare places aren't exactly world class...).
I've always been overweight, and bullied for it at school. I've been a yo-yo dieter forever, and tried all kinds of different fads with varied success. But I always gained it back. I've now learned that's because I was always looking for a quick fix rather than finding ways that I can live for the rest of my life! So my focus now is on building up the lifestyle that I want to live. I am getting more consistent with exercising and tracking my calories, but that's where my focus remains for now. I know I will see results if I can get myself eating the right amounts and moving enough!
My aim for October is to become even more consistent with these habits and continue my work on reducing portion sizes. I would like to lose another 2kg in October, but I'm not setting this as a goal since my focus is on building healthy habits, not losing weight. You can see from my 100-day challenge goals below, that this is definitely where I need to be focused!!
100 DAY CHALLENGE GOALS

@emj90210 Try cocoa powder on fruit, OMG it is so good! I actually had to NOT buy it I was eating so much fruit with it, it's really good on frozen bananas or grapes. Don't know what to tell you about your husband, the guy I'm seeing drinks all my favorite things (Diet Pepsi and coffee cream). I swear one day I'm going to snag the coffee creamer container and a can of Diet Pepsi and lock myself in the bathroom and drink both of them! I'm too embarrassed to break in front of him so it hasn't happened yet!
@trooworld It sucks to break a streak but do some deep breathing instead and you'll have still done a relaxation technique. And think of it as a break from on ongoing routine, not an end to anything!
@Jactop I hope you had a great visit with your daughter.
@GabiV125 Great job meeting your goals!
@petrocoetsee @trooworld @TeresaW1020 Slimpossible Rockstars, way to go gang!
@Cornanda If you ever find the secret sauce do share! I don't think I'll ever have it all figured out!
@buniphuphu Way to go on the swim, I'm glad it's wearing you out in a good way! I'll keep that in mind about the steroids, I was taking magnesium but just ran out, to be honest I'm having charley horses with the nerve pain, it would be hard to tell a difference at this point but I'll keep an eye on my macros and see if there's any association.2 -
@mariammuhindi Great job on sticking to your goals today!
@anido1 Way to go on the weight loss!
@TeresaW1020 That sucks about the root canal, I'm so sorry! Good luck with the extraction. Dental work is ridiculously expensive. One of my newly crowned teeth is killing me today and I know what that means but I'm trying to ignore it, I'd have to borrow money to get it taken care of but may not have an option. Prayers it's as painless as possible!
@TwistedSassette Sounds like the pool will be perfect for you! Keep marching toward those goals, you'll get there!

Not much new to report, had a busy day that was mostly frustrating. Every time I think my health care is getting somewhere there's another road block so I'm waiting for legal to call me back to advise me. Everything big I think of to make a difference lands me in the hospital or jail and frankly in both cases I'd get more medical care doing that than I am now. The only thing stopping me is I'd miss my cats and I'd rather not have a record. I'm sorry but when you can't see a specialist for multiple serious situations or get a drug approved within 6 months there's something wrong with the medical system.5 -
@Jactop Traveling makes me gain, too. I have the same problem (not tracking) when I travel...I'm just too distracted and out of my routine to think about tracking. I love October, too!
@Cornanda Thank you, I appreciate that.
@buniphuphu Thanks. It really does. The cushion is great, it allows me to sit in positions I am unable to sit in without it. Congrats on another fabulous weigh-in, you are so consistent! And you are doing wonderfully with the swimming, woot woot!!!
@TeresaW1020 I'll be thinking of you today, wishing you a pain-free visit!
@Katmary71 Oh that's a great idea to do some deep breathing, thanks.
Hi all. I got some allergy medication yesterday and took it and I'm feeling a bit better. I think I'll feel even better in a few days as the medication builds up in my system. I've not been eating to comfort myself, that's the good news (that's my usual mode of operation).

I'm excited about this loss. My parents live with us and it was my mother's 80th birthday. So my house was filled with family, cake and other fun foods. I stayed with in my goals. I also got exercise in 4 days this week (wanted 5).
My goals this week are to eat healthy within my goals and increase days and length of exercise.7 -
Welcome to the new members and Haaayyyy to my old buddies! My name is Jennifer and I am a single mom of 3 adult children - son is 25 and in the Navy, oldest daughter is 23 and lives with her husband about an hour south of me, and my youngest daughter is 20 and engaged. She lives at home and is attending the local community college (online) and working. I work in Community Development for my county in Michigan (been there over 15 years now) and work at home 4 days per week and go into the office on Tuesdays. I also love love love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards and (rarely) scrapbook. I'm an active member of my church (Board member), but also love horror movies and books. I've been vegan for over 8 years, but fell into the usual junk food/fast food/convenience food trap and need to lose about 45 pounds. I had lost 60 pounds several years ago, but 45 of it reattached itself to me like a sea lamprey.
I've been in this group for several months now and love the camaraderie. I’m recovering from my second ankle surgery in which a torn peroneal tendon was replaced. After months of casts and boot and brace, I am finally free of ankle contraptions. I am thrilled that I can get back to walking and building up my strength so I can hit those dunes! I go to my local State Park and walk the trails. I am not ready for the dunes yet, but I have that as my goal.
I am one of those that really struggles emotionally with weight loss, so I’ve been losing and gaining the same few pounds these past months. I am still trying to find my path to wellness...8 -
Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well so far this month. Keep up the hard work! Welcome all new group members.
My name is Leona. I am taking a brief break from logging/weighing in, but this group is so wonderful and supportive! Stay strong!6 -
Hi everyone - my name is Annie, 54, a Brit who has been living in the US since I got married in 1991. We have 2 sons, our 23 yr old lives in Asia & the 20 yr old is away at college, so we are also empty nesters. I am getting close to my initial goal of 160 and when I get there I'll re-assess. According to the "experts" my "normal" weight range is 126-170 so I may aim for the middle which is 148, but we shall see. One step at a time!
September was a complete bust for me, so let October be a fresh start. We were on vacation last week to celebrate 29 years of wedded bliss so I haven't stepped on a scale for about 10 days. I'm not looking forward to the weigh in on Thursday...ah well.
Last month & this month's daily goals:- drink more water than tea & coffee
- go to bed before 11pm each night
- 10,000 steps a day
- do some form of additional exercise 5 days a week
- only drink alcohol at the weekend
- log my food on MFP

Hey Team! I’m just going to do a quick check-in, but I did read all your post. I had my tooth pulled today and now that the Novocaine has worn off I am sore and my face is swollen. The oral surgeon agreed that because I had most of a root canal yesterday that I would be a little extra tender for the next few days. I am staying home from Bible study tonight and will from church tomorrow since I would have to be super active with all those five-year-olds. I did workout this morning but my diet was pretty bad. DH bought me a Chic-Fil-A shake and a chocolate chip cookie, which took me forever to eat. I also had a non-fat Greek yogurt with some peanut butter powder mixed in for dinner. Hopefully, the scale won’t be too bad tomorrow.
100-Day Challenge Goals: Day 14
1. Fast clean for 19+ hours, with 2 days at 23+ hours. Fasted 21 hours
2. Workout six days a week (either BOD program, treadmill, or deep cleaning). I did a 30-minute booty workout.
3. Eat at least 90% on plan, which means mostly low carb with one or two days of high-carbs. NO! I was super high carb and sugar today, but that is OK.
4. Have quiet time with God through prayer and reading. No, I didn’t today.
8 -
@TeresaW1020 Rest up!! Dental work can be so painful and really restricts what you can eat! The greek yoghurt is a great idea though.
Hi all, I had a quiet day yesterday, busy at work and exhausted when I got home so I didn't exercise. Slight calorie deficit though so that's something. And I've made myself a salad for the rest of the work week for lunches so hopefully that will keep me on track a bit. I'm struggling with the start of daylight savings, it's taking me ages to adjust to the earlier start and then I'm not tired at bedtime so I'm just not getting enough sleep. I know it will settle down eventually so I just need to tough it out till then. I really hate daylight savings, it actually makes no sense where I live as even without it, there would be daylight until around 8pm! I struggle every year! Sorry for the rant
Today I am aiming for another calorie deficit, plenty of water and doing some exercise of some sort!
100 DAY CHALLENGE GOALS

2. 20 mins exercise: No - 5/14
