@buniphuphu Your chicken & veg meal looks great! I've never heard of buttercup squash  but it looks nice!

@Hilogirl2018 Sorry about your gain this week. Time to wipe the slate clean and start again. You got this!

@apple852hk You walked 11 miles?! I would die. Let alone two days in a row! :open_mouth: With the Zoom meetings, I know some people walk around their house while on the call - is that an option? Might keep you awake better than chocolate!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yay! Glad your son is back from his ship and able to link up with you!

    @judi_kay_4 A four pound loss? That's amazing!

Congrats to all our losers this week - you are all such an inspiration.

I had a very busy, active day yesterday. Started out with the 10-mile ride on my stationary bike. Then I helped hubby pull up a bunch of pavers across our driveway so we could re-lay them as we're putting in an automated sliding gate and the driveway was so uneven that we couldn't attach the track for the gate wheel! So we needed to pull up about 70 or so pavers, level the ground underneath and put some sand & cement mix down before re-laying the pavers. Such a tedious job, but we got it done in the end. It took about half an hour to pull the pavers up, and about four hours to re-lay them! All while wrangling a toddler who is car-obsessed and wanting to go out on the road. So today I am quite sore, especially in my hamstrings from all the bending over! But the driveway is good to go now and hubby will work on laying the track and setting up the electric motor over the next couple of days (he's a stay at home dad with our toddler so he'll be limited to a couple of hours in the daytime while kiddo naps, and a couple of hours after I get home from work).
But then I was starving and overate at dinner :frowning: so ended up with a small calorie surplus.

It's Monday morning now, so I'm aiming for this week to be an active one and to make some healthy choices!

Hey everyone. Congrats on all the losses, WOW!! Our group is filled with awesome people who are really inspiring!!!

    @buniphuphu you dinner looked awesome!!!

@Firefly743 What a week you have had. My goodness!! I know I am normally an every other week loser, lol. I don't know why - have always chalked it up to hormones. Tomorrow is a brave, new day! You got this!!

I skipped a day reading and realized I am so far behind. I have read through all the post and really like seeing how everyone is doing. Sunday's are so busy, I'm on staff at a local church, and I have to be up so early that I claim this a no exercise day. But I do follow my plan and try to at least get in 5,000 steps. I'm short about 600 steps so it looks like I will be walking the dog tonight.

Today starts a brand new week. My goals:

    Stay on plan with food
    IF 14:10
    Workout 6 of 7 days
    7-8 hrs sleep each night
Start my day with prayer and reading the Word

Hope everyone has an awesome week!!!

Went shopping today and came home with nothing off-plan. Yay!

Random pretty things: Does anyone else here love period European music? If yes, you might like the music of Christina Pluhar and L'Arpeggiata. I am currently stuck on this group's versions of some baroque dancing songs (like this one).
Sharing this with my teenager had him share this fabulous version of Smells Like Teen Spirit in classical Latin with me.
@Katmary71 - Would a medieval riff on a Black Sabbath song be up your alley?

    @EMJ90210 @trooworld @davidji82 Congratulations, go team!

@vegan4lyfe2012 It's Penzey's Medium-hot chili powder. I'm tempted to get more but don't want to order more than that so I may go with The Spice House and see what they have, they have spices they ship in flat packs so you're not paying to have just one spice shipped. I love going to the Penzey's store when I visit my aunt in Washington.

@AustinRuadhain I'm posting this BEFORE I click the link for a change, haha!

@AustinRuadhain LOL, that's hilarious! I'm surprised I haven't come across that, I get really weird recommendations from YouTube because of all the different music I listen to. Today I was listening to MC Hammer with an ad banner for Metalhead dating across the screen, I actually took a picture of it (lately it's been a Sees Candy ad which drives me crazy because then I want some!). I found a 2Cellos Smells Like Teen Spirit that I almost posted!

Exercise- usual stuff plus planks and squats (just started them again, I'll see how it goes)
    Calories- a few over

Hey gang, just wrote out all that's going on but it was too grouchy so I deleted it all. I'm still hanging in there, had more obstacles thrown my way so now I have to work at attacking them from different angles. Hope you're all doing well!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you! I hope you enjoy your linking time with your son and congrats on your loss, too. :)

@TeresaW1020 It's always fun to find a new podcast to listen to, isn't it?

@TwistedSassette That sounds like an intense workout (the pavers)! No wonder you are sore.

Hi all. I've really enjoyed my 4 days off. Now, it's back to work! :) Today is going to be a challenge: due to COVID, we have limited the amount of staff that is working at one time and I'm most likely going to be working by myself. I have to work 9:30-1:30 and I don't know if I'll be able to eat anything. :/ I'm really worried about it. I will eat something before I go, of course, and I'll bring something in hopes that I can eat, but in reality, I may not be able to eat until I get home (I live 45 minutes away from work), which will be 2:15!

@trooworld--- how did you day go? I get worried when I can't eat also. I do better if I can have a snack if I need one, because sometimes I get shaky, cranky and headachey if I can't eat. I also have a job where I can't always do that, so in that situation, I like protein shakes. You can stash it behind your computer and take a sip in between what you are doing. I like Muscle milk light- 100 calories and cheap at Walmart. And then maybe bring a little something to eat on the way home so you don't want to stop for food. Hope things went OK. I thought of you today!

@TeresaW1020 – Next March!?! What fabric did you pick? Something hand-woven by pygmy monkeys? Glad you’re getting what you want, though

@TwistedSassette – Installing your own motorized gate? Impressive! Are you adding for extra safety while your little guy is outside playing? You’ll have to share a picture of all your hard work when it’s done. I’m sure you needed those extra calories from all that work!

@Katmary71 – I hear such great things about Penzey’s but haven’t checked out their website. I thought maybe you had a concoction that you came up with  Anyway, hang in there!

I had a great, long conversation with my sister the other day. We talked about my weight loss obstacles and she mentioned something I never thought of…that maybe my daughter keeps bringing me fattening snacks because she subconsciously wants me to be like her Nana (who is 235 pounds). I had a conversation with my daughter. She got upset and said that wasn’t what she was thinking. Anyway, I told her that she needed to just STOP bringing me junk to eat. (When she buys me food, I feel obligated to eat it because she doesn’t have a lot of money to be buying things and I don’t want it to be wasted money.) I think I may have finally broken through her brain today. We’ll see how it goes.

Lunch today was leftover Israeli CousCous, Delicata squash, and jalepeno black beans with a tiny side salad (cause I’m out of greens now). I’ve consumed 40 ounces of water, so I’m well on my way to my daily 100 ounce goal. And I’m going to take a drive over to the State Park for a nature walk before the rains hit us.

I hope you are all having a decent Monday. If you’re struggling, come chat with us. Hugs to you all!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yes, we have a very long driveway that slopes down toward the road. The little guy will be getting a balance bike for his 2nd birthday in a couple of months so it will be perfect for him to ride around, but we worry about him not stopping before the road! We live on a main road on the edge of town, and there's a mine out that road so there are often trucks going past and the regular traffic does not go slowly! Hubby and I both grew up on farms so we do a lot of stuff ourselves - he is particularly handy with stuff like this, he does any work with plumbing, reticulation system, electrical work, welding etc. by himself. I'm very lucky!!

@buniphuphu Awesome loss - all your swimming is really paying off!

    @anido1 Great loss :smile:

Yesterday afternoon I took my son to the local pool for the first time this season. He cried when approaching the pool but soon settled into it. It didn't take long for him to regain the confidence he had last summer, soon he was diving in from sitting on the edge and kicking off from me to go over to my sister. It was fun, and I tried to keep myself moving in the water constantly - not much of a workout really but better than sitting on the couch! What is it about swimming that makes you so hungry afterwards?!

@TwistedSassette That is so much fun that you and your son got to go to the pool. And don't underestimate how much of a workout you get in the pool. Just look at @buniphuphu! ;)

@anido1 Yayyyy for your great weight loss this week! B):star:

@vegan4lyfe2012 HaHa, it wouldn’t have mattered what fabric I picked out. COVID caused major back-ups and then with the holidays it seems that the pygmy monkeys go home for Christmas. :D I will post a pic below.

@buniphuphu You are just crushing it week after week!! Truly, you are one of this group’s best inspirations. B)

@trooworld How did you do with work and your eating? Can you bring something like a protein bar and eat it in the bathroom? You are doing so awesome with your goals. You just need to sleep a little better and drink more water! ;)

@Katmary71 I hope your grouchy mood ends soon. If anyone can deal with tough obstacles you can! Hang in there! <3

Hi everyone! Well, today was a good day. I had a great workout today and then went over to Aldis for most of this week’s groceries. I will go to Walmart tomorrow. I fasted 21 hours today and only had a cup of coffee with heavy cream and for dinner baked chicken breast with roasted broccoli and green & red bell peppers. Today, I was purposely very low with my calories, and tomorrow I will purposely eat more. I’m planning to do this two or three times a week and see how it goes.

    100-Day Challenge Goals: Day 20
    1. Fast clean for 19+ hours, with 2 days at 23+ hours. Fasted 21 hours
    2. Workout six days a week (either BOD program, treadmill, or deep cleaning). 80 Day Obsession program-45 minute cardio.
    3. Eat at least 90% on plan, which means mostly low carb with one or two days of high-carbs. I did awesome today!
    4. Have quiet time with God through prayer and reading. Yes 😊

Here is a pic of my chair that I ordered. I have grey and gold in my living room and I think this fabric is going to work beautifully. The gold is metallic and will add a lot of movement and visual interest. I can't wait!! The only issue is that my little dog uses our current chair as a napkin after she eats dinner. We are NOT going to do that with this chair! :#

Any audiobook fans here? I am listening to American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and being wowed.

@adhmrh - I hope the funk lifts tomorrow. In the meantime, a huge hurray to being under calories! That's an e3ven bigger accomplishment on a day when you are blue.
This group does not require that you only be happy. Funks are also welcome here. 👐👐👐

@TeresaW1020 - I have some serious chair envy. That's gorgeous! And gray and gold just sounds wow.
(My living room couch is fun but less tasteful than that sounds.)

@TwistedSassette - You son sounds adorable. And for what it's worth,. I have the same experience of swimming. It makes my hungry. Fun, but yes... what is that about?

    @anido1 - Great weigh-in! Congratulations!

@vegan4lyfe2012 - Aww, wow to that conversation with your daughter. I am impressed. I hope she finds a new way to express her love that works for her AND you!

That food equals love wiring can be such a challenge.

I will just say I feel you. Me dad just sent me a huge gorgeous jar of his very own home-grown honey. It looks fabulous, but honey is not on my plan. So I thanked him mightily and have put the jar out of sight!

I want to do more catch-up but it is bedtime and Tuesday is a hugely busy day, so I will catch up after I get my class prep done tomorrow morning!

@vegan4lyfe2012 The relationship between people with food is complicated. My Dad shows caring through food. I was sugar free for months and he'd still put cookies he knew I liked on the couch next to me when I visited even though I was 10 months into my diet at that point. When I went to college whenever I came home he'd give me boxes of granola bars. My Mom told me once he was worried I wasn't eating enough, my guess would be because money was tight when he was young. Whenever they come here or I go there we bring each other food, I've just started putting my foot down if it's stuff not on my diet. Oh geez, I even text everyone if I see their favorites on sale so I'm pretty bad too. I accidentally texted a MFP friend the deals on produce instead of my dad and when she replied how much she loved peaches I was confused because I expected my dad to be excited about grapes! Anyhow, I don't know if it's always to keep us a certain way, to make us happy, underhanded, or to share together but it's complicated. Now when I visit my parents my Dad and I go to Sprouts for all the great produce deals then get coffee at Starbucks so it's a little healthier of a habit! I've really had to be strong about saying no about things I no longer eat, if they're wasting money it'll get through eventually.

@TeresaW1020 That chair is gorgeous, I bet you're excited!

@buniphuphu Congrats on the loss! And that's great that the weather is holding out for no wetsuit. We are having unseasonably HOT weather here as well. I don't like it lol.

@Cornanda It actually worked out okay, thanks for asking! I worried for nothing: There were two other employees there after all. I get the same way. I brought a snack but I was worried that I would have no chance to eat it. A protein shake would be a good idea. Now, I don't have to worry about it because I found out they changed the schedule to make it so 2 people are always working together (I'm so glad!). Thanks so much for thinking of me! <3

@TeresaW1020 It turned out fine (see above to Cornanda). I'm so relieved! :D I was able to eat a snack before I turned into a Gremlin lol. I do need to sleep better. I've been working with my doctor on that but making no progress. I've tried all sorts of things to no avail. :/ Water: the kink in my chain! :( I will get there. I'm glad you had a great day. That chair is beautiful!

Hi all. I ended up having a great day yesterday. Work was good, I was able to eat at work, I came home and dug down deep and found a little energy to ride our spin bike for a short time. The short time made a difference though: I earned enough fitness points from the bike ride to meet my daily point goal for the day! I hope to ride the spin bike before work today before I run out of gas.

@adhmrh What an awesome loss! You're having a great October by the looks of it.

@TeresaW1020 That chair is beautiful! Well worth the wait I think

@Katmary71 I think you're right, sometimes we can have habits that are ingrained in a relationship and they're so much harder to break than the ones we do on our own. I think of some of my brother's friendships that he's had a long time, built on a real party lifestyle. In his everyday life, my brother no longer parties a lot, and neither do the other guys, but when they occasionally meet up it's like they're 21 again (though their bodies don't agree anymore). It's just ingrained in them that when they're together, they must party. I think there are a lot of less extreme examples than this, like with your dad, which can be harder to identify and hard to break. So I'm glad that you're making some new traditions with him and hopefully this is what becomes ingrained now!

@trooworld Good on you for getting on the spin bike! Sometimes it's just convincing ourselves to start that's the hard bit!

@GretchenReine Sending hugs your way - I hope life has stopped kicking you now!

    A little check-in from me:
Took my son swimming again, he had the best time (until we all got too cold!). I had intended to ride on my stationary bike after he went to bed, but we ended up running almost an hour late on his bedtime, and then hubby wanted to look at some share market stuff to decide where to invest, so I just ran out of time. I ended up going to bed at 11:30pm which is far, far too late and I'm definitely paying for it this morning!

I came across an article last night which I thought was interesting enough to share with you. It is about the concept of "non-zero days". You know those times when you're feeling really down, and you're ready to give up? I think we've all been there at some point. The idea is that you aim for as many "non-zero days" as you can - so every day, do something (no matter how small) that works toward your goal. If it's 11:58pm and you've not moved off the couch all day, jump up and do 20 squats and that's a non-zero day. I thought this might interest some of you if you're feeling in a funk, or feeling overwhelmed with your journey. If you just do one thing that helps you toward better health, the day is not a waste after all.
There are a lot of other articles about it out there, I liked this one as well.

Yayyyy I am so glad to you returning to the group! <3 We have all fallen off the wagon and need some time to regroup and get back in the game. Just jump right in and make yourself comfortable.

I have messaged @Liselyn and she will add you to the spreadsheet. We have you down for your weigh-in day on Wednesday. Do you still want that day? Also, do you want to provide a starting weight that you were at the beginning of the month or you can just jump in this Wednesday and we will begin from there?

Exercise- usual stuff but less of it

I got my prescription finally for a medication, I was on it before for my pelvic nerve damage and it didn't help but I'm still going to believe it will with this situation just in case, gotta stay positive! Every night I type everything going on then delete it, it's just a bunch of complaining and while life is pretty crappy right now I'm still fighting, I refuse to crawl in bed and pull the covers over my head or break down over all of this, I have two more cases to fight and things to do. My goal for this week is to get that damn neurology appointment scheduled, I'm driving people crazy but I won my complaint against the insurance company and it's been weeks of trying to get a form from one office to the other so I can schedule the nerve testing. If I have to drive there to take it from one office to the next I'm probably going to lose it (I'll end up in the hospital or jail, my legs seize up within 5 minutes of driving and it's 25 miles from here so my pain will be insane and I'd be super grouchy). Ironically if you're a first offender they'll let you out because of COVID, treat you medically, according to the lab tech when I went to get my labs redone last week they'll give you injections, and you get free food and a ride home. Why does that not sound bad AT ALL? It actually sounds kind of interesting in a twisted way but I can't come up with anything to get arrested and I can't take things out on people without feeling bad so I'd make a horrible criminal. Last week I was actually thinking of what to pack for a day in the city! Have a great day gang!

@adhmrh Thanks! It is really hard for me to exercise at the end of the day, too. It took everything I had to do it! Wow, what a tremendous loss you had this week, congratulations! And 5 days of exercise is fabulous! Well done.

@TwistedSassette Thanks! I hate that #$$@! bike, so I'm impressed with myself that I got on it lol. Thanks for the articles, I'll look at them in a bit, I really like the idea of non-zero days and doing small things towards your goal.

@Katmary71 Yay for winning against the insurance company. And I'm glad you are able to get your medication. I hope it helps.

Hi all. I had a tremendous day yesterday: I met all of my goals I wanted to accomplish! I got on the spin bike yesterday for longer than the day before and I went for a walk. I ate on plan. Drank all of my water. AND I got 7 hours of sleep for the first time in weeks! It was fabulous.

    Calories: over/under: under
    Water: over/under: under
    Exercise: walk and spin bike

    - drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day - 100% accomplished
    - meditate for at least 15 minutes a day - 100% accomplished
    - get up from my desk every hour and stretch - 100% accomplished
    - put my utensil down between bites (CARRYOVER GOAL) - 100% accomplished
    - ask myself if I'm really hungry before eating anything (CARRYOVER GOAL) - 100% accomplished
    - leave at least 3 bites of food on my plate at each meal (CARRYOVER GOAL) - 100% accomplished
