Weigh in for going ape
Last week 153.8
This week 152.4
Loss of 1.4
Ltd 67
This week has been a bit off with my IF as working from home means food is too easy to get to. So my first meal has been earlier than planned for the last few days.
Continuing working on macros and adding protein. Have a good weekend everyone!5 -
Check in for Friday
Food-not bad but didn't log
Water-only 32oz-too many appointments and a long drive
Exercise-PT
Thursday was my last day of prednisone and yesterday(and so far today) was not a good day with the knee. I am back to the old-rest, ice, elevate and advil. I do have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday for it so hopefully this will get me through. I am at the shore now so I am just going to relax and read. I rarely get to do that. We went to dinner last night, no wine at all and I ate half of my dinner. I could have eaten it all and would have a year ago. I still overate a little but it still is a little mindboggling how much I used to eat. I obviously am still eating too much or I wouldn't be this big but it is nice to see how much I have reined it in.
Time to get going...where I don't know but I promise myself I am not going to be cranky. Compared to what others go through, I really have nothing to complain about.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
@lennoncpa Maintaining is good! Hope all is well with you. For the record(I am sure your counting lol!) My son is 3/4 for the CPA exams. The last one is the hardest, not sure if that is how he should have worked it out but it is what it is.
@kiane50 Awesome loss! You are doing great!!
@ljdanny I am glad that you are seeing an improvement from before surgery, it makes it worth all the stuff you are going through now. Isn't it funny how we appreciate our independence once we have it taken away a bit. It was a treat to run over to work but it probably would have been a PIA at another time. Lol! Your poor son with another surgery. I know he is lucky to be alive but I feel bad that there are still lasting effects from that accident. I hope all went well for him too. Hugs to you all.
@minstrelofsarcasm Oh YUM!! Finally Tesla working on something important Lol! Or maybe I should say something I could afford How did they turn out?
@pacsnc6 I agree, the time will fly. This time of the year always seems too. Hugs
@kandi3570 Wow! Those are all things I need to do! I swear reading your posts make me tired with all the things you fit in Lol! And I am just sitting here with my coffeee! Awesome loss this week too!
@KUMEcyclingteam Nice loss! Relieved you are in the woods hunting and not riding that bike! Lol!
@tryingagain5 Reading your post reminded me how I just got to a point in Nursing that I just couldn't do night shift anymore. It is tough and it gets tougher the older we get. I hope you are able to switch shifts but if not, you need to start trying to think of a plan since what you used to do isn't working anymore. Idk if forcing yourself to stay up in the morning would work? Or going right to sleep? I also worked with a nurse who just worked Saturday and Sunday nights and would take a benedryl and swore by it. Hopefully there are things you can do that will make it more livable for you. I know that sleep effects everything so I am not surprised your exercise and eating are off. Remember if you are struggling, make small doable changes. Just do something little that you know you can do, maybe increase your water by a glass, maybe leave a bite or two behind on your plate, stuff like that. You don't have to be "all in" to be healthy. Sending hugs!
@timibotkin Don't disappear! Hugs!
@debbiewsharpe I was pleasantly surprised to know the Covid testing wasn't the pharyngel nasal swab! Looks like some things are improving! Lol!
@Zumba_Luvah Great job this week! I think you were saying you were extra hungry last week too. Maybe you are working out more or maybe need some extra protein or fat in your diet? Might be worth taking a look at. You will be back where you were in no time!
@brown6267 You have really been doing well in maintenance! I know that isn't the easiest so great job!
@goingape Nice loss!! You got this!!2 -
@debbiewsharpe you are lucky with your covid test. When I had mine 2 weeks ago they shoved that stick up my nose right to my eye balls on both sides. I was crying. The same for my son the other day. Good luck with your surgery.
I just came back from my second walk this week. I went a little father today. My neck is a little sore today, I tried sleeping on my side, probably shouldn't have. I am going to try cleaning the house. My granddaughter went down for a nap finally. I was helping my son with her because of his surgery and his gf had to work. I thought my husband would be helping but he stayed out a little late last night with my other son and nieces. They went to a haunted house and then for drinks. The other adults were smart enough to go home after the haunted house but not him, he still thinks he's young.3 -
Check in
Food - okay. Didn't eat much today
Water - not enough
Exercise - Also not enough
Just did a little house work today and finished a couple of crochet projects. Still confused and upset over weight gain - I'm getting to the point where I'm afraid to eat, which isn't good. I need to take control and plan out my meals.3 -

Weigh in day: Sunday
PW: 250.8 (113.8 kg)
CW: 248.0 (112.5 kg)
Total lost: 28 lbs / 12.7 kg
So, this week I learned that I will be perpetually behind in reading posts in here, let alone responding. I am flat out at work with several major projects that will run into next year and thanks to Covid restructuring it's just me doing the job of three people. I've pushed work out on other teams, but I created a lot of admin for myself in the doing so!
I've settled in nicely to my routine of 45 mins spinning before work each day, and then an evening session on weekdays where I either lift or do cardio again. Not much lifting going on as I still haven't felt up to it, but I do what I can.
I've read some interesting research recently on Metabolic Suppression after extreme weight loss, and how it can last up to 7 years after losing a significant amount of weight. Probably even longer. It means that someone who has lost a lot of weight will burn less calories per day at the same weight/height/age as someone who hasn't, and it can be up to 300 - 400 calories less per day. This is why weight is easy to gain again after losing it, and why it can be harder to lose the second (or umpteenth) time around. I've figured out that I need to eat at least 1700 - 1800 calories per day or I feel like crap and am more likely to get a migraine, but losing weight has been so difficult even though that *should* be a calorie deficit for me. But adding in extra cardio is making a difference and suddenly my weight is moving downwards again. I guess losing 160+ lbs and then gaining a lot back has quite a few down sides.
I'm also continuing to 'clean up' the food that I eat. I noticed after not eating meat for ages that I ate some chicken this week and consequently started getting face pain/migraine symptoms. I have no idea why chicken would cause that, other than general inflammation in my body which is seeing a benefit from me eating mostly plant based whole foods. No way am I going fully vegan, but I'm leaning towards vegetarian again. I've been planning out meals ahead of time and really looking forward to the food I'm eating, and yay, the scales are moving down!
I went shopping today, had to buy some new togs (swim-suit, bathers - what are they called in your part of the world?) for me and three of my kids. It's getting really warm here now and we have both the ocean and the indoor pool near by. Us Kiwis are pretty laid back, but it's frowned upon to get in the water naked (in either place! )

Take good care, Timi. I've moved you to the cheer squad. Reach out by PM if I can help in any way. Hugs.2 -
I thought I'd share a couple of progress photos. Even while my weight wasn't moving much, changes were happening. We tend to focus on the scale, or do our waist/hips/thighs look smaller. So between July and now, the scale didn't move much at all for me. But I have been in a calorie deficit, and have been lifting as well as doing cardio. In July, the bottom photo of my back and arms horrified me. I normally don't care much what other people think, and I have a crap-ton of loose skin, but that photo had me thinking about covering my arms all summer. Fast forward to the top photo taken yesterday... I think I'll be okay to wear singlets in public!

OMG! I love the tank top!! Also...awesome progress!1 -
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx Those pictures are soooooo inspiring! Be 100% proud of yourself!
And where did you get the Adipose tank? I want one!
I had planned to start the day with a walk but it's raining hard. I think instead I'll ease back into exercise with yoga and ab work today. I've got to do something to get back in control of myself.

I was above 140 at one point mid week, so I'm glad I got myself back down at least a bit. I have to reset.4 -

I just did my first eye drops to prepare for cataract surgery Tuesday, not pleasant and a lot to do but I will set timers and reminders. Alexa and Siri will be my friends this week. I was up a bit with my weight this week but I know why. I cooked a meal for ME yesterday. I love our southern Chicken pastry dinner with sweet potato casserole and pecan topping, collards (of course cooked with ham hocks) deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, fried corn bread and I also cooked a lemon pound cake this week. I didn’t even ask myself why I weighed too much this morning. I vow to do better this week. This is why maintenance is hard for me. When I was in diet mode I would not have even considered this meal. Back to DIET for a few days or maybe all week. Water is needed as well, exercise is fine, and can’t walk anymore that I already do. Like all of us here, one small setback will not stop us or derail us. We will KEEP ON KEEPING ON ………..
@ Kandi3570 – Wow, impressive loss!
@Zumba_luvah –the scales sure are going in the right direction. Great week!
@brown6267 –nice weigh in step total
@goingape – looks like a great week and a good plan for next week – good walking week
@sleepymon5 – sorry to hear the pain is worse, sounds like you know what to do for it. Great that you are at the coast and can just relax. Prayers for continued improvement this week.
@ljdanny – 2 surgeries in your family, prayers for both of you. Just take your walks easy and one day at a time getting a little farther is good progress. Remember to not overdo it.
@GingerPwr- sorry to hear that you are struggling a bit with your weight. Let this week be your reset, eat enough but healthy stuff, stay active and try to get the water in. You know what to do, done it before, can do it again. I believe in you!!! Go for it this week.
@kristen11572 – up a little, plan for a good week ahead, you can do it!
@xX_PhoenixRising – nice loss. Sound like you have a good routine set up and a good plan ahead. Living by the ocean and a pool would be wonderful, enjoy it!!! nice walks and awesome transformation in those pictures. You look like a different person. I think you get the blue ribbon this week.
@1theresamcvean – MFP gremlin attack! I sent you a message to post on sole mates.

So far, so good. My weight has stayed the same for a few days under 160, Yay!!!
My eyes are slightly swollen this morning and I am itchy but not too bad. The hydroxyzine is slow in helping this time, guess I need to take it on schedule instead of when I feel the need.

@sleepymom5 I hope you’re knee issues get better. I admire your positivity. You inspire me.
@debbiewsharpe good luck with your cataract surgery. Keep us posted when you are able. And I have to say all of that foods sounds soooo good. 😁.
@Pheonixrising. You look amazing!!! Congrats!!1 -
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx you really do look great.1

Crazy day. The animals here are out of control. I introduced a stray kitten into the pack. So routines are out of wack. I’ve had some extra messes which is very discouraging. I have some ideas for solutions though. Today I got on the scale and was under 210 it felt so good. Yesterday I bought the cutest pair of boots. I doubt if they’re too many peoples taste though. I’m 56 but feel twenty sometimes and my husband doesn’t really care for my taste in clothes sadly. But I need to make myself happy that’s all that matters (a least with dumb stuff).4

Oops I’m 57 not 56 I just did the math lol3

I'll take it!! I kept up with my workouts this week and got back into maintaining a jog with no walking breaks, my ankles hate me but im still pretty proud of myself. Looking over my week and realizing I need to come up with some lunch ideas, usually in a class so starbucks and a protein shake are my usual go tos but I think I need to switch it up! Overall not a bad week even if I didn't lose as much as I wanted4 -
I didn’t log steps for Saturday or today. I’m sure I got plenty yesterday running around shopping bowling and the haunted house. Today I had a lazy day and made chicken parm for dinner. It was really good. Not thrilled that 350 calories came from butter but you know sometimes that happens. I needed a good meal. Back to it tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good week. The last week before we move over to November. 😁4
