Brought my dog Rudy to the Emergency Vet and we thought we might need to put her to sleep. She may have Cushing's disease which is a tumor. We brought her home and she is walking, eating and defecating and being her loveable self but we are seeing a steady decline since the spring lockdown. It was a real emotional roller coaster yesterday. She is blind, hearing impaired and is wanting to eat all the time and has liver disease. We now have a reason why. The tumor is in the brain and effects everything.
I’m so sorry. I had a cat die years ago because she had a rare tumor in her inner ear. Her balance got so bad she couldn’t walk or jump on the bed anymore. It’s so heartbreaking. My prayers go to you and Rudy. 💕0 -

Thank you to the soldiers and sailors of Pearl Harbor. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.1 -
Question: What is your focus this week?
For me I do better with routine and structure and I have been getting back in to planning as a tool and I've come to the conclusion that to be successful I have to make my goals a priority so I schedule them! This week, my focus is scheduling and sticking to the schedule.
My focus this week is drinking more water. I’m just not drinking what I was. Also to stop late night snacking. Emotional eating? That’s me totally. 😒0 -

@Kin59vara I'm so sorry to hear that. It's really really hard when you have to make those decisions and it's quite literally the hardest part about having and loving a pet. I am so sorry.
Thanks she is still home and we will listen to our own vet's advice but we know we are not having surgery. We know that we will need to say good-bye soon.0 -

Thanks so much for your concern. She is such a good dog. Many years ago when she was a pup she saved my husband's life. I was out of town as my dad was ill and my daughter, husband and Rudy were at home. My husband was asleep and Rudy started making a racket. he shouted at her but she kept it up. He went to get up to put her in her crate and then he realized he was having a cardiac situation and called 911. So she is a very special dog.1 -

I need to figure out either a gym and/or greenway walking schedule. Last summer and fall, I had a great schedule going for the gym. That stopped when I got sick over the holidays, and except for my almost-daily walks during the lockdown, I haven’t had an exercise schedule in months. Any advice? I’m in grad school two nights a week and work three days a week, two of those nights. (I had work two jobs but lost one at the start of COVID. Never found another one that would work with my library job. They wanted me to quit the library to work at their business part time. I wasn’t going to quit a job to work one where I’d get less hours or less pay per hour, and I’m in grad school for library science. Library school + library job = makes sense to me.)1 -

Question: What is your focus this week?
My focus is to avoid late afternoon snacking by having a midday meal that has enough protein and is nutritious enough so that I am not tempted to fill up on empty calories before dinner.0 -

@walk4today This is going to sound strange, but for me, having a cup of warm chicken broth helps curb any snack cravings I might have, its warm and it fills my stomach and its literally like 5 calories....it's worth a try if you're struggling with overcoming those cravings.2 -

Uh oh ! Wrong direction! Sorry everyone! My snacking is way out of control. I was diagnosed with a binge eating disorder about a year ago. So I know better than to have in the house. I need to get back on track.
