Belated Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! We have been hammered with snowfall the past few days. The last two days were light and accumulative, but what hit us Monday was the heavy wet stuff. I really needed chiropractic on Monday.
    Adding: 30.25 miles walking
    Dec 21: 3 miles walking
    Dec 22: 8 miles walking
    Dec 23: 6 ,75 miles walking
    Dec 24: 7.5 miles walking
    Dec 25: 5 miles walking
    TTD: 182.25 miles
I guess our tracker is down for the count.
@k80flec: Hope you are hanging in there as well. I hear it is pretty rough across the pond. It is here as well. I lost a friend from our church whom we had been providing a meal for each weekend. His wife has dementia and they had a Meals on Wheels program providing during the week. It was pretty bland. So we have done this since March. He ended up in the hospital with emergency surgery the beginning of November and everything went south, He was rehabbing in a facility and just about to be moved to a nursing home and someone brought in Covid and he ended up back in the hospital twice and passed away Wed. His wife’s daughter was taking care of her mother, his wife and now had to put her in an assisted memory care facility. So truly sad. I will miss him and will not see her again until things hopefully improve. Stay well folks!

Merry Day After Christmas - or Boxing Day for @k80flec. Did TRX and then walked 3.8 miles just now. It's in the 30s but with the sun it was pretty nice. Had a nice Christmas with my brother and his family.

    Hope everyone is staying safe.

Congrats to @cpanus as she cruises past the goal line! So glad you are back in action, Chris.

I did a half marathon today, mostly walking. I haven't run a race for a whole year and my fitness has really suffered. The Disney Dopey Challenge is virtual this year, and even though they aren't requiring proof of completion, I want to log the miles. I'm not getting up at 3 am to do the races. I'm not doing them on consecutive days. And I'm not sticking to any time limits. But I will do the miles. That's the 5k, 10k and half marathon done. "Just" the marathon left now. Here's hoping that we're able to run real races again before too long, and that I can get my fitness level back up enough to complete them! This stupid pandemic has made me realize how much running races contributes to my fitness.

My goodness I'm on a roll. I had a really great short run this morning and according to Garmin I logged my fastest mile. That's not actually true but it's true for the past 3 years. Hooray! I'm at 102 miles this month, which is the most I've logged in long time. It feels great to be able to focus on my fitness instead of all the other problems that have been plaguing me this year!

It may be a struggle to make goal :'( ... stationary bike, I’m looking at you!

I’ve not run so much in the last couple of weeks - pain in the trochanter area of my left hip, radiating into the small of my back. Let it be said, I sobbed and took STRONG meds. Spaced out, but pain free for the 3 days I took them. :)

Belated Seasons Greetings to you all.
@Janet - I miss races too. They are available virtually ... but I miss the camaraderie. I can’t see races returning too quickly here in the UK.
@clepant - it is pretty dire here. In the North West we’ve been living under tight restrictions forever. We got a few months in Tier 2 in the summer for good behaviour. Other than that we’ve been in lockdown or Tier 3. We anticipate going into Tier 4 in the New Year (which is effectively lockdown). The irony is that the S and SE (London etc) have had vastly higher infection rates and been in Tier 2 .... lots of disgruntlement. Our PM has been more concerned about not upsetting his buddies than taking a firm stand to take control of the virus, at the end of the day, we are a relatively small island, other relatively small islands have managed to take control.
So far my family are staying safe. I have a bubble that I run with, socially distanced of course. It hard to stay upbeat which I think is why I just feel tired all the time.

Sorry my post is so long :'(

@k80flec Glad you're staying safe. One of my friends went home to the UK as her Mom was undergoing surgery, she was lucky enough to get there for that and some recovery time, but then the worsening situation made her come home before Christmas, since her job is here. She hated to do it, but at least got to see her Mom through the important parts.

@k80flec - sorry to hear about the trochanter - had to look that up! I don't blame you (or anyone) for being weary - this has been a long ordeal. I'm in Florida where there is no lockdown, or any other regulation. Last I checked, there is a 10% infection rate where I am. As a result, my husband and I don't go out except to exercise and buy groceries. Not meaning to complain, just saying that even given the freedom to go about your business you might choose not to. So far isolation is working for us. And I learned my 93 year old mother gets her first dose of vaccine on Wednesday. Can't come soon enough - they've had six deaths in her home. Stay well, everyone!

    Adding 1.

My medical assistant got sent home at lunch since her cousin called to say she was Covid + and they spent Sunday together at a party. She's out for the week. I had to do her job today and it was a mess. I'm scheduled for the vaccine tomorrow. I have to drive to the bigger hospital in the system as they have the freezer for it. I'm going before work rather than sit in rush hour traffic going after. I'll also be doing some fetal monitoring tomorrow on a patient who's husband is positive. She's currently negative but that was a few days ago. I just want to get these vaccines in. The amount of patients we 're seeing like this is rapidly increasing.

    Stay safe!
