Hi @goingape - So great to find you here! I am newish too. We have room on our team Mind Over Miles MFP, if you want to join. We could use your miles. @shanaber assigned teams at the start so she may also chime in here.

I hadn't logged into the RTY site in a bit and team Getting it Run has crossed 100 miles!
    Yay! @lannakin @Faebert

I’m so sorry I’m behind the pace ladies. The first half of the month was a total bust for me due to the Covid. Off the mark now but it will be a gradual build-up!

You guys are smashing it though - thank you!!

Keep in mind everyone that we are only 22 days into this. There is plenty of time left in the year to go and we will all get there despite the ups and downs in our running ability due to injuries, sickness, weather and life getting in the way!
We'll get there, some faster than others but that is ok!

@shanaber yes, I am set up with mind over miles and just got in my first run the other day.

@martaindale thanks I bookmarked the thread!

Looking forward to getting in at least three runs this week.

How is everyone doing with this now that we are 2 months in?
Has Team bONmot finished the year yet?

Team LeftRightLeftRepeat passed the 400 mile marker yesterday primarily due to @eleanorhawkins awesome mileage!

My team is amazing! They finished up the year in Feb while I angrily was stuck in the house during the Tx arctic vortex fiasco trying not to poison myself with carbon monoxide (had to use the gas range to keep the house out of the 30's) and stay warm. Lost power from Sun the 14th till Thursday the 18th with temps in the single digits and roads and all outdoor surfaces covered in 1/2 inch of ice followed by 6 in of snow with another 1/2 layer/crust of ice on top. My poor trees. It did not get over freezing until that Thursday but we lost water pressure on Wed for another 4 days. I managed to slip and fall twice bruising my ribs. Then when I could start running again I pulled a thigh muscle somehow (wonder if the carbon monoxide in my system effected the muscles). A

Anyway enough whining. We are back on track and I am recovered and running again. I just feel like I missed out on the last final push to finish the challenge. :(

Wow @SummerSkier You really had it tough. Glad things are back up and running and hope your thigh muscle heals quickly.

thanks @quilteryoyo now imagine MILLIONS of people all going thru the same thing in Tx. It wasn't rolling but ROLL over. I am glad to see that you were able to start running again yesterday. I am lurking on the Mar thread a bit to keep up with folks :)

@SummerSkier - I hope your ribs are ok, they are so easily broken! I can't imagine what you all have gone through in TX and some are still dealing with the aftereffects of the freeze and then pipes bursting and ruining everything. I hope you will be able to got out for a run soon! Also no need to lurk on the March challenge. There are several of us in the injured reserves that still participate when we can and respond to others.

Hi all. I disappeared for a while. Ankle injury recovery was slow and I’m still struggling a lot with getting back to feeling fit after Covid - I don’t think it’s long Covid but I’m pretty wrecked. Just so frustrated with it, I’m afraid I got pretty down about everything.

So I’ve done a terrible job for January and February for Getting it Run - I’m so sorry. I just didn’t see this start of the year being as hard as it was.

8 days into March and I’m finally in a groove. 4 miles every couple of days is my plan for March and hopefully build that up.

I am determined not to let you guys down. X

@Faebert Glad to hear you are getting into groove. It has been a rough beginning of 2021 for a lot of people!

@Faebert - you'll get back into it! I think we all thought 2021 was going to be so different from the end of 2020 and then... just a continuation. But it will get better we still have 9 months of the year and plenty of time to get all the runs in so no worries about letting anyone down. Things happen and we pick up and keep going!
Also I really hope you don't have any long COVID symptoms hanging on!

I think Mind over Miles MFP is the team with the greatest need right now. They were hit pretty hard with injuries. If you look that team up and ask to join, it should notify the team leader and she can let you in.
    Welcome!!

@RisingAboveIt - Thanks, I accepted that request to join so you are now in the team. @skippygirlsmom - Just go to the team tab and scroll down to join team. Search Mind Over Miles MPF and request to join. I can make the team public later. Thanks!

@vs_shine These are 3 of the 4 members of that team. In case you need to reach out to someone!

@vs_shine - Let us know if you don't get added to the team and I will see what I can do.
