Finally on the board at 3 miles out of 100.0

Sorry, I am a bit late to the party. Could you put me down for 75 miles this month please. Its really icy here so don't feel very safe walking plus the 'townies' have all come out into the countryside and my quiet spots are filled with people. This happens when we are in lockdown. Nowhere else to go I suppose. Just don't feel safe trying to keep out of their way. Sometimes it's impossible so, I may not do many miles this month0

4th Jan walked 2.95 miles
Total miles walked to date 11.60 -
... 11.5 miles logged so far! Weather not making it easy to get out and walk/run at the moment but trying to get out as much as we can!0

This year the Disney Dopey Challenge is virtual. Over the last couple of weeks I ran the 5k, 10k, and half marathon. Yesterday I completed the challenge by running a virtual marathon - many loops from my house to the beach - and it went better than I imagined in my wildest dreams. Given my lack of training I was prepared for an ugly run but I went slow and steady the whole way and I did it! So that's my 8th consecutive Dopey Challenge completed and my 9th consecutive Disney marathon. Feeling proud! I'm at 32/50.4

Wow I just looked at the spreadsheet. Somewhere in December I crossed 40,000 MYAC miles. Didn't even realize I did it!

01/02 - 25.0 miles turbo trainer
01/03 - 02.0 miles rest day walk

@Janet - That's amazing! Well done! That's a lot of miles (km) over a short amount of time, especially when the pandemic limits training. Bem Feito! Chapeau!0

Adding 21 miles for 33 out of 100. Looks like I should probably up my goal to 200. Sorry Dave and Janet for the extra work.0 -

FYI - Revising my goal down to 60 miles for this month because I'm going to focus on building my walking back up again.
Have a great day, everyone!

Had to drop my bike off for surprise service today as apparently I wore through my back brake so much the pistons holding the pads extended and got stuck. I had started sounding like the little engine that could... chhh chhh chhh chhh. New rotor, new pads & hopefully it'll be ready for me to bike home this evening!

@2essie - you have my sympathy. I live on the coast in the NW and we get mobbed by people coming to the seaside - regardless of tiers or lockdown.
I’m not sure of the figures, but it’s just been said on the news that cases have quadrupled in the region. . It has also become against the law to be outside your home without good reason.
I’m trying to stay motivated in my running. I’ve just signed up to a challenge to walk/run 874 miles by Dec 31st. 12.08 miles down, 861.92 to go

@DREAMPHEDRE - You must be getting a lot of use out of your bike then! And maybe you live in a hilly area.
@K80FLEC - Sorry to hear about your strict lockdown and high rate of cases! That has to be hard. Hoping it turns around soon!
So far my unofficial "Exercise every day in 2021" streak is still intact! It was a close one yesterday as my knee was barking a little after work yesterday. I opted to hit the stationary bike instead of the treadmill thinking that less pounding sounded like a good idea. It was still a little stiff when I woke up this morning, but a little ibuprofen and time and it feels better.
