@Sue - I hear you on that struggling to get miles leading to worsening mental health issues. The folks at work know when I haven’t been on my bike. When your wife says, “You need to go get on your bike.” You know it’s a real thing. Hopefully with the increased vaccinations in Portland you will be able to get outside soon. Hang in there.

Sadly Oregon has re-prioritized how the vaccines will be distributed. School Teachers have taken the place of senior citizens on the list. So I am told my age group had been moved to October. Unless the new administration comes up with a huge load of vaccines for the states. School teachers/instructors definitely need the vaccines so being moved way down the priority list is ok. It just means that I will be locked up for 2021 as well and living alone just makes it worse and more lonely.

@SUFFERLANDRIAN - Sorry to hear you're getting bumped down the list. At least it doesn't sound like it's for a bad reason. Hopefully it won't take until October for you to get yours.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

@sussexbythesea - congratulations on making your goal. That is amazing dedication. WELL DONE!

To all my MYAC friends. This has been a long slog. Winter is always hard, but to be 11 months into a pandemic, there just doesn't seem to be any reserve left in the tank to handle the challenges anymore. Many of us are dealing with issues that would be hard under any condition, let alone these conditions. I know this personally. I have had multiple challenges to face. Among other things, I lost my dog in October. I couldn't even post about it at the time. There were too many other terrible things happening all at once. But thankfully right now things are good for me. My mother has had her second vaccine - hooray! So clepant, I was thrilled to read about your dog sitting. I hope you will get another dog in good time. I know I will but my husband isn't ready yet.

@anaconda469 - I am sorry you are struggling with your bi-polar. Mental health problems are real health problems, and when one of us has a health issue we all support our team member. I have had a surprisingly strong month, and so I am donating to you my bonus miles to get you to goal. Hang in there and make sure you get the support you need. You can do this. You are amazingly strong.

To everyone else, we are a great team. I wish each and every one of you well. This is almost over. It's always darkest just before the dawn, right? Spring is coming (except to those in the southern hemisphere like @leanz LOL), and so are better times. Stay safe and keep moving your @$$.

    Janet

P.S. The February thread is up. Thank you Dave! https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10823050/february-2021-move-your-challenge#latest

4 mile walk with a neighbor and her foster dog, he's a Stafford/Pit mix and has coloring like a Dalmatian. Very cute but glad I went over to the cat side and don't have to walk animals in the middle of winter. Although today is litter box cleaning day x 2

@JTH11706 Yes we are southern hemisphere but crazy weather Tues was 38.4 C Thursday 15C and new snow on the hills. And boy are we having some wind!! The plus for us is our movements are not being restricted and I am very sad for how hard it is for all in USA.
I don't have many but please give my extra kms to @anaconda469, Thank you

@JTH11706 - I’ve got extra miles to donate to @anaconda469.

I get my vaccine on Tuesday. I must admit I’m surprised. I think my GP is ‘infilling’ the list. I wasn’t expecting to get it for at least another month

@anaconda468 - I’m sorry you’ve now got longer to wait, but it is for a good reason. I wish they’d re-prioritise teachers here in the UK. But as you say, who knows what the new administration might bring.

    Stay safe everyone

@Janet: I am so sorry to hear about your dog. Jeff and I would so love another dog, but we don’t even know if we will survive this pandemic and would have no one to take care of it should we not. Horrible thought, but in truth it is reality.
My sister finally spoke to me in person two weeks ago. We have not talked since my dad died in Nov. 2019. Both she and my brother washed their hands and left my husband and me to deal with my dad’s home and belongings. I guess she figured we may not be here and decided to end the silence. How hard going to my dad’s funeral without her there. I forgive her, but I can relate on how hard things are. And here in PA, we can’t get vaccines. My husband over 70 and high risk with weekly infusions and his mother in assisted living and age 98 has not even gotten one. I am glad that your mother has gotten hers. Please hang in there. If I didn’t believe that there was a better life coming I would have given up long ago. I at least look to my Lord each day for strength and he provides. I pray for all of you on here as well.
@Jean (anaconda) you are welcome to my few extra miles or anyone who may need them.
@Dean: The dog has brought us lots of laughs and love. Except maybe today when she decided to prune my Bottlebrush Buckeye prematurely. She goes home tomorrow. It will be quiet here again.
