@AustinRuadhain - been thinking of you, glad to hear you are doing OK. And Yay You! for unfreezing that faucet! How many layers of clothing did you have to wear while the power was off? I hope it stays on and the water too!

@mlhopp93 - glad to hear you are taming the snack monster. That's a tough one!

    @Firefly743 -great loss! Wow! @itsmegina @digger61 @RYcare @apple852hk - You too! Yay!

@trooworld- zoom games and cheeseburgers sound like lots of fun!

@raleighgirl09 - love the emperor with no clothes analogy. Cracked me up!

@TeresaW1020 - I also think cauliflower is delicious! However, my sister posted a meme to Facebook about how it tastes like someone farted into the ground and it grew into a veggie....

    Have a good Sunday!

@apple852hk - I’m very impressed with your dedication to fight .
A simplistic way of looking at this is that the craving is the effect, and to solve the puzzle we need to also find the cause. Have you tried a food journal? When we compare times, quantities, personal feelings from one day to another, a different story may come out. We make 1000 decisions a day related to food.

My usual causes are boredom and my chronic conflict avoidance . Working to chip away on their power.

One more thing, your cubes are so very pretty!

:star:The Green Challenge :star: Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!! B)

@raleighgirl09 I love how you analyze your week and learn from it. Well done! Thank you, I am trying!

@TeresaW1020 Yes! Those burgers were awesome. We had fun with game night! We spent most of the time just talking but that was nice because we haven't talked to that couple in a while. I'm sure you did a great job on the church and you did it with love. <3 LOL I'm glad you found out about cauliflower. I never was too much of a fan until we did Keto and then I started to love it.

@apple852hk I'm glad the napping helped. I find a short nap during the day really helps me, too.

@Cornanda It was a great night! Have a good Sunday, too.

Hello all. It's a beautiful day outside so I think I will take a book and read on my walkway. The cheeseburger and fries from last night were more points than I anticipated and usually, I eat leftovers from dinner for lunch the next day. I'm not doing that since the points were so high, instead, we are making 2-ingredient dough pizza.

    @dignow96 Welcome!

I am back online now and back to work, so things should settle down back to normal. I find it hard to post from my phone so when I'm at home for a few days I tend to just not post (but I do read everything!).

It's Monday morning here now, I got in a 5+ mile, 20 minute ride on my bike this morning. Yesterday I made some chocolate-zucchini muffins (which I'm excited to try) and some egg boats for lunch for the next few days (basically beaten eggs with a dash of milk and a whole bunch of grated veg - I used carrot and zucchini - poured into those mini stand'n'stuff soft tacos that look like little boats, and baked until cooked through). I also planned out my house work for the week (let's see if I can stick to that!) and thought really hard about a morning routine that will work for me and get me to work on time so I mapped that out and tried it this morning - still needs a bit of refining but it did work, I was exercised, meditated, showered and off to work on time so I can't complain about that! Does anyone else have a morning routine? How did you go about curating a morning routine that works for you?

@dignow96 Welcome to the team!! Just feel free to jump and make yourself at home. :)

@Cornanda Ohhh I agree that cauliflower is very stinky but it’s so worth it. Plus, a blast of Febreze takes care of the odor. However, I did once make the mistake of cooking it in my Instant Pot, and that smell like to NEVER come out. I now steam it on the stovetop.

@trooworld Glad you had fun with your friends! Most of our friends are our church people and I was telling DH that I really miss our monthly potlucks where we ate, played games, and laughed. Maybe someday soon we can bring them back. Stupid COVID!!!

@TwistedSassette Glad, you are back! Wow, you have been busy getting yourself focused and organized. Good for you! Back when I had to be at work at a certain time, I found it best to get up two hours before I left for work. This allowed me to work out, shower, get ready, have coffee, and of course cruise social media. :)

Hi Team! Not much going on today. I didn’t work out today since my body needed a rest. But after church hubby and I did do our floors and a little housework. I then had some ministry assistant computer work to do and a menu to make for us this coming week. Next week I’m going to tweak up my plan. I know, big surprise, right? :D I’ve been reading up on the Protein Sparing Modified Fast (or PSMF for short). It’s basically a very high, lean protein diet with low fat and super low carbs. It’s supposed to really accelerate weight loss. I’m looking at doing 2 or 3 days a week and seeing what happens. I'm definitely not looking to do something too extreme so I will be taking it slow and I have no problem quitting if it's not a good fit for me. but it shouldn't be too difficult to do a few days a week with my current eating plan. I will just lower the fats on days that I do the PSMF. Has anyone hear heard of it or given it a try? Here is a website that seems to explain it all. https://www.psmfdiet.com/

@TeresaW1020, I am not familiar with this exact diet, but wanted to say 2 things:
    - it seems like most people fall short on protein consumption so you will nourish your body even if the scale doesn’t like it immediately, but it will catch up too
    - extra animal protein binds (see Dugan diet) so add a strategy there ( if one is missing)

So impressed with everyone’s efforts to find new ways/new answers/better results and love that you are sharing it here.

@TwistedSassette Wow, what a great ride, well done! My morning routine depends on when my husband gets up. If he gets up early enough, I will get on the computer for about 30-45 minutes and then I will do some exercise after that. But lately, he hasn't been getting up early enough and I don't want to make a bunch of noise so I haven't been exercising.

@TeresaW1020 That sounds like a lot of fun, I can see why you miss it. I've said it before but I'll say it again, I really admire how you keep tweaking your plan to make it work for you and your lifestyle!

@GabiV125 I do well getting in my protein but I know my fat macro has been higher, so my plan is to work on that. I love how everyone shares here too. :)

@trooworld Yup, I’m all about the tweaking! What fun to walk on such a nice trail. Were there many people out or did you have the place to yourselves?

@Jactop Wow, that is a great weigh-in you had! I agree that eliminating sugar is a game-changer and so much better for your health…and the health of your scale. ;)

Hi Team! We are very quiet around here. Hmm? :/ Not much happening here today. I did do a work out and hubby and I went to Sams for some needed supplies. I have my menu planned for the week and will go grocery shopping tomorrow. Yesterday, I had written about wanting to tweak my plan. I won’t be doing that protein diet as it’s laid out. It’s too strict for me. However, I am going to watch my macros, which I haven't been doing because I HATE tracking. But I got back on Carb Manager and will do my best to keep my protein higher than my fat and of course, keep the carbs low. Today, my carbs are a little high but that is because of the broccoli I’m eating for dinner. That doesn’t bother me because no one EVER got fat from eating broccoli. Just saying! :p

Beck Diet Solution Question of the Day
Day 22-Oh Well—the goal of today is to learn to say “Oh well” to foods that I might want to eat but aren’t on my plan. Such as candy and wine! Right now, I’m not eating those things, so when thoughts come to mind that I want them, I need to say “Oh well, those aren’t on my plan. Get over it and move on.” I actually like this approach. It goes with the, “not today” thought. Today, I can’t have candy or wine. Next time, maybe I can. If not…then OH WELL!! :)

    @Jactop That's wonderful!

@trooworld What a beautiful walking trail!

@TeresaW1020 I'm the same with strict diets, they just don't work for me. How great that you can recognise that before you start, and instead of setting yourself up for failure, you're setting yourself up for success by taking the concepts and devising a plan that will work for you!

Last night I made fritters for dinner, using leftovers from our roast pork the night before. They were delicious and, surprisingly, low in calories. I really thought I was going to have a higher calorie day but it didn't work out that way at all! I had a meeting and then a training session that ran from midday through to 2pm, so lunch was very late which meant I didn't eat the afternoon snack I'd planned. Then dinner was much lower calorie than I was expecting, so even though I wasn't hungry, it turned out I didn't eat much! I also did some yoga before bed which was nice.

This morning I followed my little morning routine again, doing another 20-minute bike ride and meditating afterwards. Got to work early, and didn't feel rushed. That's the main thing I wanted to get out of a morning routine - having a good, positive start to the day and getting to work feeling ready to take on the day, rather than rushing, feeling guilty for being late, or still being half asleep. This is much better.

    @dignow96 Welcome to the gang!

@TwistedSassette Sounds like a great mindset to start the day.

@RYcare Great to see you! I hope you had a great visit with your parents!

@TeresaW1020 If you get fat from broccoli I'd get a refund! Well, if it has cheese sauce or something then I'd be careful! How high is the protein with this diet?

@trooworld What a beautiful walking trail!

@Jactop congratulations on the weight loss and stopping sugar!

@Cornanda Thanks a lot, I just got cauliflower in my produce box!

Nothing really new here, trying some new things, still working out, and back on track with diet. I talked with my new therapist Friday and like her a lot, she gave me a lead to try to get help. I talk to a doctor this week to get referred to UC Davis pain clinic so hopefully that will go well. I'm still getting used to living with someone, it's easy to adjust to the extra cats but I've never lived with someone before and we're both home all the time plus I'm in pain so it's been challenging. I'm feeling better about how I've been eating, I'm doing better at keeping the anxiety down. Sent a couple cards to friends I haven't talked to in a long time and started a seminar on tapping, it's actually pretty interesting! It is relaxing in a weird way, it seems pretty hokey tapping on your head saying stuff but I felt less anxious afterward. It's going all week so I'll let you know what I think at the end. I started the medication for inflammation I ordered from a Canadian pharmacy and think I may already be feeling a difference but I'm scared to say it out loud! Have a wonderful Tuesday gang!

@Katmary71 I'm glad that you are feeling a difference with the new medication and that your new therapist is good! I was confused when you said you watched a seminar on tapping - I thought for a moment you were talking about tap dancing so I'm glad that you clarified! I don't know anything about tapping but now I'm intrigued!

@leonadixon That's a good pledge to make - I like to have a goal for how much to exercise too!

Well, I got home from work last night and felt unwell. Really lethargic and queasy. I couldn't even muster the energy to cook dinner so Hubby cooked some steak on the BBQ and made some veggies for us. Apparently I must have just been hungry as I felt a lot better immediately after dinner! Though I struggled getting out of bed this morning so I went back to sleep for a bit and put the morning routine on hiatus for the day. Which meant when I did get up, I was rushing around and everything took too long and I was a few minutes late for work. Which is not a big deal in my workplace as I can just stay a few minutes later this afternoon but I didn't have that same peaceful, stress-free feeling about my morning! I will definitely be trying to get back in the routine tomorrow.

Between being sick, Snowpocalypse 2020, and losing power for a bit, I did not catch up. I am still hanging in there. I need to catch up on my Beck work. Normally, I do those kinds of things during lulls at work, but work has been busy. I haven't even been logging my food! Eek! I've just been trying to watch what I eat.

@Jactop - wow! go you! So impressive.

@trooworld - love the walking trail pic!

To all- I see slims on the board and in the Honorable mentions this week. Way to go!

@TeresaW1020 - it's true that no one ever got fat from eating broccoli. :)

@TwistedSassette - what are fritters? I think that getting off to a peaceful morning is an excellent way to start the day. But sometimes it doesn't happen. Kudos to you for making it a goal. Hope you are not sick.

@RYcare - Hi! Glad to see you!

@Katmary71 - you enjoy all that cauliflower in your box. I think it's a delicious veggie..... too bad others do not agree. And oooh. Hope the new med works!

@leonadixon - down is the right direction, if it's slower than you would like, that's OK. You are doing great!

@buniphuphu - Hi, glad to see you too! We're here for you if you have time to talk while you are getting your train back on the track.

I think I have a tapeworm, lol. I have been SO hungry today. It's very weird, and I've tried to allow some extra eating while still keeping a handle on it. Looks like I'm going to come in under budget calorie-wise. I do not have a loss on file for the month and I think I may see one coming, so I'm trying to end the month on a win.

@Jactop Wow, that is a fantastic weigh-in, congrats!

@TeresaW1020 It was really nice on Sunday. There were a lot of people in the park but it is so big that everyone was spaced out nicely. No, I don't think anyone got fat by eating broccoli...unless they slathered it with butter and cheese lol!

@TwistedSassette It was really enjoyable. It sounds like you had a nice day yesterday, starting off the day right. I'm sorry you were feeling bad last night. I hate that feeling of being "off" from being late.

@Katmary71 It is, what you don't see though is that it is right by the freeway lol. It is also right by the San Diego Zoo and, a few years ago, there were 3 peacocks loose from the zoo near the trail. It was a bizarre sight to see! I've heard good things about tapping but have never done it myself. Learning to live with someone is challenging, I lived by myself most of my adult life so I had to do the adjustment when my husband moved in. I'm glad the medication seems to be helping.

@buniphuphu I hope you are feeling better.

@Cornanda Thanks, it is a really peaceful trail (besides being right beside the freeway lol). I hope your weigh-in goes well.

Hi all. We caught someone in the act of breaking into my car on Monday morning and it threw me off. I ate off-plan on Monday, emotionally eating, but I'm back on plan as of yesterday. It's amazing how violated I felt even though it was only my car. She didn't get anything since we caught her but it was still upsetting.

    Check in day: Wednesday
    2/10: 130lb
    2/17: 131.4lb
    2/24: 130.4lb

Since weight will swing up and down, actual success is when we just keep showing up, regardless where the dot is on the map.
I have to remind myself about this over and over. How is it possible to remember 20 things for work and 40 things for family every day, and forget the one for me?

Schools are opening next week for 2 days in person classes and I’m equally excited and terrified for my daughter to finally start HS.

@trooworld I'm sorry to hear about your car, I'm glad you caught her! It is very violating to have someone in your space like that.

@GabiV125 I definitely agree about showing up, it's easy to throw in the towel when the going gets rough. Good luck with your daughter going to school, it would be extra weird after being home for a year to start high school!

Hey gang, not doing as good today because I didn't get much sleep but my hopes are still up this medication is going to help. I talk to a doctor tomorrow to hopefully get into UC Davis Pain Clinic. I'm a little worried because doctors aren't that receptive when you TELL them what you want so I'll have to word it correctly. I talked to an old friend for a couple hours on messenger last night, it was funny to talk about how much fun we had as young adults, brought back some good memories!

@trooworld --- what an awful thing to have happen to you. So glad you caught her.

@Katmary71- I wish you the best in telling the doctor what you want. Some doctors are better about it than others. The way you approach it helps- I think they really hate fighting Dr Google.... Some are just not good listeners, they feel they always know best. It's fun to talk about old times with good friends. <3

@Cornanda Fritters are basically a batter made with eggs, self raising flour & milk, and you add in whatever leftovers etc. you like. We had leftover roast pork so I diced that up along with the roast veggies that were left, and added some other frozen veggies and a little cheese to the mix. Then just shallow fry or dry fry them. They're quite nice!
I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you, not sure what was happening with me a few days ago! I sure hope that you don't really have a tapeworm!!!

@trooworld Oh my gosh, I would not know what to do if I saw someone breaking into my car!! Not surprising that you were feeling emotional. But I'm glad you're back on track now.

@GabiV125 Great loss! Agree totally on the "actual success" - keep going and keep trying and never give up. Maybe you can write this on a sticky note for yourself and stick it in places where you need reminding - the bathroom mirror, your computer monitor, your fridge - or make it a background on your phone!

@Katmary71 I love reminiscing about old times with friends! Glad you got to catch up with your friend. Best of luck with the doctor tomorrow, I hope you get the referral you need. Maybe you can read up on some negotiation tactics before you go, so you can walk out with what you need even if they didn't want it!

Not much to report here, I had a good day for calories & exercise yesterday. I looked into calorie cycling and decided to give it a try, so I set up my MFP diary goals for that and also removed the setting where it lets me eat back my exercise calories since I'm trying not to do that so much.
You all know I weigh daily for data collection. This morning, I saw a number that I have not seen in at least 2 years! I have snuck in below 130kg - I hope it stays that way for my "official" weigh in tomorrow! I'm so happy to see that what I am doing is working. I can do this.

@TwistedSassette I make zucchini fritters all the time. They are my hubby’s favorite side dish. Congrats on getting a nice surprise on the scale! B) I had one this morning too and it’s a great thrill. We just need to stay focused. I think calorie cycling can be a great idea! I am a total believer that it’s important to keep the body guessing. I do that with my fasting hours and with how I eat.

@Katmary71 That is so much fun when you get to chat with an old friend. I haven’t done that in years. Fingers crossed that your doctor will hear you and do what is best for your health. :)

@GabiV125 Yes, weight on a scale is data and it is NOT representative of all we do for our health and it doesn’t take into account the fluctuations that can happen with our weight. It is something we all need to remember more often. ;) That is big news for your daughter. I wish you all the very best in navigating the ups and downs of high school in midst of this crazy epidemic.

Hi Team! It’s actually sunny and warm today! When I went shopping yesterday, I saw daffodils blooming. Spring is coming!! I was super happy to see my weight down to another all-time low this morning. I have also decided to go back to tracking for a while and bought the premium membership at Carb Manager. It offers so many great features plus thousands of Keto recipes. My only real goal in tracking is to keep my carbs low, and my protein higher than my fat grams. Mostly I’m using it for data and to be more disciplined. My trainer on 80 Day Obsession says that you have to become obsessed if you want something badly enough. So, that is what I’m doing. I’m getting obsessed in reach my goal weight and staying there!

DAY 23 Overcome Feelings of Unfairness
This has been a real struggle over the years. That feeling of unfairness and of being deprived of eating something I want because I’m on a diet.
The book says that we have these two choices:
    1) Feel sorry for yourself, stray from your diet, never end up losing weight, and continue to be unhappy.
    2) Sympathize with those feelings, accept what you have to do to lose weight, go ahead and do it, lose the weight, enjoy all of the benefits of that weight loss, feel strong and in control, and be proud of yourself.

This really resonated with me. I am choosing #2 and all that comes with it. I’ve done #1 for way too many years and it’s given me nothing but a bigger wardrobe, sore feet, and self-loathing. No more!!

@TeresaW1020 - i can’t seem to find Day 20 and Day 21. It’s a lot of typing for you, so can you only put the titles for those days?
    Sorry for the trouble.
