Sunday weigh in:
PW - 187
CW - 187
But this could so easily have been a gain, so I'm extremely grateful!
Just back from a long (90 minutes) walk in the forest, so my Trek training plan is holding up.
Happy Mother's Day to all the UK mothers in the group.

Our Week 3 Challenge is up and ready for you! A bit of spring cleaning, anyone?

I guess it wasn't a fluke last week. :0
Not that I'm complaining! I'm less than 10 pounds from that border between overweight and not, so that's exciting.
My tax refund came in this weekend so we booked a high end hotel for our anniversary in June, and a trip to Vegas for October to see a concert. I really hope we can go! Fingers and toes all crossed.6 -

Amazing! You have broken through that barrier - was it 169? And just about to cross another border - both in weight and in October! Better uncross those toes when you're playing VR games or going for a long walk, though Don't want you hobbling around!4 -
Snow snow snow! We are getting quite the little storm today. Yesterday I had a great snowshoe trek, so today it will be even better Then I just have to stop munching on nuts all evening...
The Spring Equinox is this week - Saturday, the final day of our Week 3. Let's try to hit at least 15 pounds lost as a team, and come up with some great food swaps, or some other kind of spring cleaning that we need at the moment. You in? A green week for all?
Not very green here outside, but some of the summer's vegetables are getting planted this week, so that counts!4 -

I entered it yesterday...sorry you missed it.
@sunny9847 Congrats on your second shot. You're amazing getting all of those steps in and being so tired you're almost in bed. Take it easy! The 2nd shot can certainly give you a more vigorous reaction because the immune system recognizes the spike protein and is telling you just how much it's there to protect you. Enjoy the system's warriors and sleep well. By Sunday, you'll feel much better.
You were right. I feel much better today!5 -
On to Week 3. Beautiful Sunday here. I must get out for a walk. Never had that Cosmo. But ate some yummy pizza.
Please get those steps in so I can do the step report before the end of the next week.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
Happy Mother's Day to our friends in the UK.
@jugar Snow????? Ahhhhhhh3 -
The Green Challenge Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!!

Had a call with Mom (and sister) today - got to watch Mom open her mother's day gift of some new Ugg boots which she was very excited about, so they were worth the extra expense compared to what I'd normally spend. I have.. 7 pairs of Uggs myself, including a worn out pair of Minis (which I use for DIY) and my Shorts (current slippers) with the rest being smarter styles (one of which is a killer pair of heels that I must practise walking in). I look on eBay for lightly used or heavily-discounted new pairs - UGGs are about £130-170 a pair in the UK typically so it's a bit of an expensive habit.
We've done some DIY then I ran this evening, 55 minutes/6.7km and the longer run was challenging but I got 6 'medals' on Strava, including a PB for the route by quite a bit. Afterwards I did a hip mobility workout on YouTube, then I did a glute stretch/exercise video but I didn't really rate that one and will look for a better alternative. I do get less pain when stretching and contracting, but the longer run also showed me that the right glutes had fatigued so maybe I'm dealing with weakness as much as anything, and I know how to target that:
Hip flexor stretches
Bridges - 1 x 10 (keep hips level, both feet on floor)
Donkey kick - 1 x 10 each side
Fire hydrant - 1 x 10 each side
3-Way Hip Circles - 1 x 10 each side
Banded Clams - 1 x 10 each side
Banded squats - 1 x 10
Banded abductor lifts - 1 x 10 each side
Kickbacks - 1 x 10 each side
Hip hikes - 1 x 10 each side
I've been trying out various podcasts on Spotify over the past week, mostly mental health/mind related, and between that and my passion/values course, I seem to have had a positivity boost. I've started reading at lunch time too and I'm currently reading Can't Even: How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation by Anne Helen Petersen. It's giving me lots to think about in even the first chapter. I feel like I've fought off burnout a few times over the past 3 years, but now I'm wondering if I just fought through it instead... Short of taking a sabatical which I can't really afford to do, I'm not sure how to 'fix' it, so that might lead me down another path.
I find it slightly ironic how in 6 years on WW I never really nailed it. Yet "on my own", I've met all my food goals since the new year, I've kept up the exercise (and even increased it) and now I'm getting the mindset boost too. The reality is that I'm not on my own, of course, and the support on here, particularly from the WaistAways team, is immensely helpful.5 -
Here are my step and workout stats for this past week:
7th March - 11680
8th March - 5612
9th March - 3773 / 15 mins Yoga /26 mins Circuit Aerobics
10th March - 8675
11th March - 4298 / 13 mins Yoga / 26 mins Circuit Aerobics
12th March - 2688
13th March - 5171 / 8 mins Yoga / 31 mins Circuit Aerobics
This coming week I shall do more of the same, but try to up my steps even more on the days that I'm not practicing for my London Bridges Trek.
Water is still an area that would benefit from improvement so I will make it my focus this week.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, everyone!3 -

Congrats to our top 3 wonderful losers for this past week - Amber, Maija, and Sam you aced it!.
@DD265
Great glute series - I'm sure that will help get you back to form. I like your comment how you are doing much better on a less structured (or self-structured) program than you did with WW. Sometimes WW is a good gateway to finding your own path. It is interesting to hear about your "mindset boost" because that is where it is so easy to lose our grip on the usual diet and exercise stuff. It is slippery and difficult to hold on to the mindset we need, and it keeps changing. The flexibility, resilience, and general stubbornness are also helpful with burnout. I don't think we can ever completely avoid (or fight off) feelings of burnout, but the resilience and mindset work you are doing will certainly help you hang on to the positive as you go.
@YinxFed
Your trekking prep work is going well so far! I saw that program, and it is pretty intense. You're going to be feeling amazing as you work through it
I had a good snowshoe session today - there is still some more winter to enjoy, it seems. I may have to take it easy again for a few days - Tuesday the dreaded drain will be removed at last, unless something changes between now and then. It will be great to have that thing gone - my daughter calls it the vampire's hip flask - and then the healing can finish up and I can get to work on my left glutes. Katie (@DD265) and I will have to compare notes on that! Between us, we will ace the glute development and recovery moves

Maybe not for losing weight, but I'll bet there was something good happening. Get the "one perfect day" if you can really soon. Track everything, stay absolutely on your plan for food and exercise, and you'll go to bed that day feeling amazing. The next day it will be easier. You've got this!1
