Hi all. I've been doing this challenge for about 2 years. I've slacked off a lot in the tracking and am trying to stay motivated. I initially lost about 78 pounds but have put 9 back on. My weight has been hovering in the 180 area for a few months and I'd feel more comfortable if it were back in the low 170s. Thinking about getting a bicycle..... any thoughts?
If it’s easy for you to use it, I think that’s a great idea! Can you easily retrieve it, get it to your destination and put it away? Those are the questions I would ask myself if I was considering purchasing any type of new exercise equipment. I personally need exercise to be easily accessible or I’ll make excuses not to do it.
Let us know any updates!!1 -

I was also looking at getting a bicycle so thank you @krysless2 that's a really helpful point, I am going to find a super easy place to store it first! I am also very much a person who needs to make things as easy as possible. My tolerance for frustration is very low haha.

I’ve been bouncing around a bit, probably water weight, and this is the extremes of the bouncing. Yesterday’s weight was exactly a pound higher, so please take this number with a grain of salt.
I loooove biking. It’s not that stressful on your knees, and you can just about do it anywhere, and you get to see so much! It’s true about the butt being sore at first, but for me that stops after I’ve been riding for a few weeks (butt calluses?)
If you do get a bike, I strongly suggest you ask for a fitting. They’ll make sure the seat is at the right height, the bike is the right size, etc.
Also, you can look around to see if there are any local bike clubs you can ride with....if you’re new, start out in the D-class rides. It’s a great way to make friends, get encouragement, and all that good stuff3 -

Now that I am back from vacation, I am ready to get to work!!!1 -
And here is my introduction! My name is Kim and I am a mom to 5 so I keep pretty busy. I just beat breast cancer and I am trying to get to a healthy BMI so I can lessen my chances of cancer reoccurrence. I have to take medication for the next ten years that makes it harder to lose weight so I need to be as motivated as possible. I am excited to lose weight with you all and cheer each other on!5

I’m wondering if someone can tell me how to respond directly to a specific post? I can’t seem to figure it out0

Then go to the bottom of the page and the normally empty text box will have that person’s post in there. Just start typing underneath to start a conversation.1 -

Thanks to everyone for the comments on bicycles. I have been going back and forth in my head on whether it will sit in the garage and collect dust or not if I get one. Good luck everyone!3

Average 10500? That's awesome!
I've hit 5k a couple times otherwise it's far less than that.2 -

Honestly shout out to my clutch going because if it weren't for that it'd still be 7000 haha!

Yesss! It’s pretty fun too! It works out allot of muscles that regular weight lifting doesn’t really get to. It’s awesome that way but I also have to space out the sessions quite a bit due to my very long history of back spasms. I just have to be very cognizant of what my body is trying to tell me or else be put out of service for a week! When that happens it’s like I have to start my journey all over from scratch!

I’m surprisingly excited for week 2. Got back on my bike after skullsandskeletons really well-timed question about biking. Been out every day since (my foster dog got adopted that same day, which made walking a lot less fun) and yep I’m still really loving it. Doing a little bit longer or a little bit faster every day as I try to recover my form.
I hope I still manage to do good for the team after last week’s large posted loss, but I’ve been and will be pulling both oars regardless. I think I will share my median weight for the week in addition to my particular weighing day weight from now on. Bouncing around is annoying, and I need to reinforce/remember that the trend is down even if I’m 2 lbs up one day, 3 lbs down the next, back up another 2 the next....yeah it’s not humanly possible to gain or lose fat that quickly.
It’s really nice to have you guys to go through this with!!! I have friends also trying to lose some weight, but it’s weirdly much more difficult to talk about it with them...too much comparing one person’s progress with another’s when we’re all so different and aren’t comparable at all.
Have a nice weekend! And thanks to all you daily posters for keeping me on point!6
