Hi all. I've been doing this challenge for about 2 years. I've slacked off a lot in the tracking and am trying to stay motivated. I initially lost about 78 pounds but have put 9 back on. My weight has been hovering in the 180 area for a few months and I'd feel more comfortable if it were back in the low 170s. Thinking about getting a bicycle..... any thoughts?

If it’s easy for you to use it, I think that’s a great idea! Can you easily retrieve it, get it to your destination and put it away? Those are the questions I would ask myself if I was considering purchasing any type of new exercise equipment. I personally need exercise to be easily accessible or I’ll make excuses not to do it.
    Let us know any updates!!

I was also looking at getting a bicycle so thank you @krysless2 that's a really helpful point, I am going to find a super easy place to store it first! I am also very much a person who needs to make things as easy as possible. My tolerance for frustration is very low haha.

I’ve been bouncing around a bit, probably water weight, and this is the extremes of the bouncing. Yesterday’s weight was exactly a pound higher, so please take this number with a grain of salt.

I loooove biking. It’s not that stressful on your knees, and you can just about do it anywhere, and you get to see so much! It’s true about the butt being sore at first, but for me that stops after I’ve been riding for a few weeks (butt calluses?)

If you do get a bike, I strongly suggest you ask for a fitting. They’ll make sure the seat is at the right height, the bike is the right size, etc.

Also, you can look around to see if there are any local bike clubs you can ride with....if you’re new, start out in the D-class rides. It’s a great way to make friends, get encouragement, and all that good stuff :)

If you’re using the phone app, you should be able to click “Quote” directly under that person’s post.
Then go to the bottom of the page and the normally empty text box will have that person’s post in there. Just start typing underneath to start a conversation.

Thanks to everyone for the comments on bicycles. I have been going back and forth in my head on whether it will sit in the garage and collect dust or not if I get one. Good luck everyone!

I couldn't figure it out neither. Thanks! Still pretty new to the message board part of MFP 😅

    DAY 4!
What are your goals you'd like to achieve by the end of the month?!

    Mine are:
    • Be able to go 4 minutes on Bowflex Max machine (currently able to do 2 min)
    • Fit loosely into a 3xl shirt (current size is between a 3xl-4xl)
    • Be able to do 100 squats
    • Walk 3 miles without stopping (currently able to go 1 mile)
    Thank you for this post.

I’d like to accomplish these goals before July:
    • Complete 3 Boxing Sessions a week(currently doing 2)
    • Walk an average of 9000 Steps or 3 miles Daily
    • Lose 4lbs and/or stay under 140 (even with a planned girls trip weekend on 06/17 - 06/20)

    Wednesday 2nd June

    Tracked - Yes
    Under cals - yes
    Exercise - yes
    Steps - 12574

I think I am going to try and keep this months average to 12000 steps now, last month I managed 10500 average so hoping this is an achievable goal! My husbands going away for a couple of months now so hoping less temptation to eat out now too.

    Average 10500? That's awesome!
I've hit 5k a couple times otherwise it's far less than that. :#

Honestly shout out to my clutch going because if it weren't for that it'd still be 7000 haha!

Yesss! It’s pretty fun too! It works out allot of muscles that regular weight lifting doesn’t really get to. It’s awesome that way but I also have to space out the sessions quite a bit due to my very long history of back spasms. I just have to be very cognizant of what my body is trying to tell me or else be put out of service for a week! When that happens it’s like I have to start my journey all over from scratch!
