Thanks for sending; since week 1 ends on Sunday when Ashley runs the weights, I can't update this weight in--hopefully that makes sense. Just be sure to send your week 2 weight on time, so you don't get dropped (2 weeks without weights). Thanks!

    mid-week check in:
Today, finally, I swam!! It's been one month since my surgery, and my incisions are all healed. I wasn't sure how far I'd be able to swim, but I swam 900 yards no problem. I feel so much better now than before I swam. I will slowly build back up to ~1,800 yards and add walking, resistance training and yoga.
    Have a good week, everyone!

It seems like there’s quite a few in this group that enjoy lap swimming as a favorite exercise. Chime in if you’re one of the swimmers.

Sorry I didn’t mean to go missing, but my father is 93 and hasn’t been doing well lately so I have been focused on helping my siblings with him this week. Usually when I get stressed out I emotionally eat, but I have actually done pretty well sticking to my meal plan. I don’t always track on this app, but I am tracking and staying close to my calorie range. My carbs have been a little high on some days, but definitely better than what I used to do. My life is about to get busier as school will be starting and so I go back to work tomorrow. I hope I can keep up with my meal planning instead of resorting to fast food and pizza.

I am definitely one of the swimmers. Over the past year, I worked up to swimming ~1800-2000 yards a day. Yesterday and today, I swam only 900 yards, but my recovery is going well and I plan/hope to be back up to 1800 by the end of month.

How long does it take you to swim 1800 yards?
According to my fancy new Fitbit I am doing around 1300 yards in 40 minutes. I’m going to try to increase my pace today. Off to the pool in just a few minutes. I’ll report back. 1500 yards today?

I'm not a fast swimmer. I swim mostly breast stroke with a snorkel, at an average pace of 3:20 min per 100 yards.
I was swimming 1800 yards in an hour. The last two days, I swam 900 yards in just over ~30 minutes, and today I swam 1200 yards in 42 minutes (a slower 3:30 min/100 yds pace). I've never swam the crawl properly (I was a head flopper!), and now it's too much for my neck, so I swim breast stroke, side stroke and back stroke. I am trying though to learn proper breathing technique for the crawl. I think I could go further, faster, and burn more calories doing the crawl.

There is no better exercise for me than swimming. It's low impact, I don't sweat, and I can do it for over an hour no problem.

I was way over on my calories today. It was my son’s 14th birthday and he wanted to go out to eat. I decided to enjoy the meal with him, but I will be back on track tomorrow.

It’s FRIDAY! weigh in day for me. It’s not going to look great because my body has decided that what goes in is staying in! Prunes and fiber and coffee are not doing their job! I’m hoping that my system doesn’t make me resort to breakfast at the local greasy spoon!
I will swim this morning for the 4th time this week, I had a really good week of calorie control. Sooo, soon I will have a magic day of 4-5 pounds lost. And it will feel sooo good!

    Friday weigh in day
I was doing sooo good -then Wednesday happened I COMPLETELY OVERINDULGED in the alcohol department. Which means that Thursday I required vast amounts of fatty, sugar laden food in order to survive. Ugh! But today and tomorrow are another day.

This chart from Fitbit app reminds me that one day will not be my undoing
Now. Off to swim those laps.
