Barb, I found this make ahead mashed potatoes restaurant trick for you:

    https://www.recipetineats.com/make-ahead-creamy-mashed-potatoes-restaurant-trick/

Wow, Hing is getting close to her due date! Her mother Amy in Hong Kong is still a ways from us. I just checked for flight time from Brisbane and it is 8 hours and 40 minutes. Lol! The world is a big place.

Linda, yes, it is starting to save me money to groom my dogs myself now. It used to cost me $70 - $80 per dog before. It cost me about $1000 to get all the equipment I needed to groom them at home and on the road. I bought all that around October last year so now I have groomed them many times, the equipment has been paid for. They need me to finish detailing them today. We washed, dried and clipped their bodies yesterday so I need to do their heads, feet, tails and tummies today. They get fed up with having constant unwanted attention so we gave them a break till today.

Judith I am so sorry your medical appointments were again so hard this week. Thinking of you and praying for healing and strength. The Lord be with you, always. I'm praying about the storms too.

Susan, love love the Cards you and your class made, so Pretty! How did your Dog Grooming go, were you able to get both Archie and Jasper all groomed. I am sure they look so good as they are Handsome young Boys!

Barb, our weather has been very stormy and rainy but wind is not as strong as last storm. I had my appointment on Thursday, Surgeon removed diseased tissue and I return in 2 weeks. He will remove the tissue each visit until I see specialist to find out about Laser surgery. It’s on January 22nd that’s January 2025! Tonight’s temps go down to 39 degrees, storm is worst on island but we are told to keep watch on mainland.

Linda, glad you enjoyed your visit with your friend and the food she made for you. As you see above my comment about appointment and storm. I keep moving forward and hope when I see Specialist in January I am approved for laser surgery! Thanks for your prayers and of course I am praying for you for your recovery. Trust you are doing better and your mobility is stronger.

Oops look above: came back to finish post, left at word hope…

    Update on Storm:

Thank you all for your prayers, I am safe. A lot of rain but so far we don’t have the strong winds 💨 we have wind 🌬 but it’s not Strong Heavy Wind 💨

They say overnight the island could be dealing with severe storm. We are told we could have it as severe here on the Mainland but one thing they said is to watch the reports so we can all stay safe. Our overnight temps are 39 degrees. I will keep you posted. 😇

Will say Good Night & God Bless 😴🙏

Today our grandchildren, Victor (12) and Etta (10) came over to stay while their mother was at work. We made hat decorations from toilet paper rolls and yarn. I am making them for my Bible study group and the grandkids had plans to give some to their friends. Here is a picture of what some of them looked like.
    5t9gllpyppjq.jpg
They also helped Glenn rake up the leaves in the front of the house. Finally the trees are almost done dropping leaves. They seem to be slow some years and there are still leaves on the trees when spring comes and new buds are here. Glenn is taking them out for ice cream as a payment for them working so hard. It is the same place we went to earlier in the week where you pay by the ounce and get lots of toppings.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Glad you are safe, Judith. I'm praying for all in the path of the storms. Sounds like you had another tiring and challenging appointment. Praying you'll get what you need. The Lord knows what it is. 🙏

I did finish grooming the dogs yesterday. There was a whole bag of fur at the end. The picture I posted yesterday showed them with shorn bodies. Here they are with their faces, tails, tummies snd feet done.

    They are good boys!

We have church this morning as it is Sunday here so I better get moving. Your Sundays are coming up snd I hope you all have a blessed day.

I had a sunny day but warmer day & warmer tomorrow. Monday it will get colder & Thursday be in the 30,s
Today we set up, our humidifier as I can get bloody noses on one side due to dryness. Then Evan 2, has eczema so having the humidifier should help.
No damage to my sister & niece in BC Canada. Thank you for asking.

Our church has pancakes for breakfast on Thanksgiving so we may try to go to that. I may leave peeled potatoes in water in the sink so I just cut & cook then I’ll put in crockpot to keep warm. Such a great idea.
Tuesday I will make a salad, cranberry with pineapple in jello & Wednesday clean house.
I raked today & Harry mowed some our back has a lot of leaves, so I raked some but my right hip hurts. So glad Tuesday I get my Prolia shot for osteoporosis. They come again to vacuum leaves 12/16-12/21. I’m sure we will have more leaves for them to, vacuum up.

Judith prayers for you with all you do & all that is going on with you. God knows. He is the healer. Praying.
Stay warm if cold & having another storm.

Susan. Trust all well with you. You are already in Sunday so trust your service was good.

Hope all have a general good night & are blessed with God’s word.
    🙏🏻🙏🏻
    Prayers for all.

Susan, the Boys, Archie and Jasper are so sweet, love their dear faces, they look so handsome with their Shorn bodies free from all the excess fur. Enjoy your Sunday, Blessings as you attend Church sitting under God’s Word!

Linda, I love the hats your Grandchildren Victor and Etta made with you. That is so nice you are making hats out of yarn and toilet paper rolls for your Bible Study group, it’s amazing what one can make with just two items. So nice they helped Glen take the leaves, it’s hard work, so nice they are going for ice-cream as a reward for their help. Thanks for your prayers. I hear you about all the leaves, we have so much here too, with the rain and winds I have a yard full of many red leaves.

Barb, I join you with your raking up of the leaves you are doing. Nice you have the pick up of your leaves. The yard is a mess, if my daughter and family come tomorrow they might be able to clean up the yard a little. It’s good you have a humidifier, hopefully it helps Evan and you, you mentioned bloody nose due to dryness, since my last surgery I get a nose bleed on the one side, my Surgeon said it’s from dryness. He suggested putting Vaseline in the nostril. It does help some. The salad you are making with cranberry, pineapple and jello sounds like what my Mother made, she also made it in a jello mould and would put it out on a plate of lettuce leaves for presentation. I have that jello mould that I kept after Mom passed. I like the idea of Pancake breakfast at your church on Thanksgiving. Hope you enjoy!

I’m so thankful in spite of the storm there is no damage, it’s rainy so everything outside is slushy in water and leaves everywhere. A little muddy too but Hallelujah no damage or floods in my area. So glad your sister is safe Barb and no damage either.

Have a Blessed Sunday: enjoy your Sunday Church ⛪️ Services! God’s Blessings to everyone. 📖✝️🙏

P.S. I left a detailed report on the Storm that rolled in today in my area on the Prayer Request Thread.

Archie & Jasper are so cute.
Thank you for sharing them with us.

    Linda
Neat we both were raking yesterday. Maybe same time. I did a bit today, as it’s trash day. I try to get the leaves from the street along the curb too.
Tomorrow starts the cold. I think Thursday, Thanksgiving day the high is to be like 37*. When you have had 60’s it will be cold. Oh well.
I loved your picture of the hat decorations. The colors are very neat.

Judith. Prayers. I guess we all have the leaves but maybe Susan as it’s spring there.
    Praying for you Judith.

    Prayers for all.
We will be going to Andover, this Saturday for a bday party grandson who turns 10 that day. Then baby girl is to be born 12/6. So between the 2 we will be busy.
HH mom comes in from Hong Kong 11/29.
My bday is in there too. Plus trying to order family picture Christmas cards & making cookies. Oh well it will all be ok. All in God’s time.
I get my Prolia shot early Tuesday, for osteoporosis.

We had a record high of 71F yesterday but it is down to 64F today. We expect a rain/snow storm on Wednesday so maybe we are getting some of your storms Judith. It will not be a bad windy storm though because we are protected with the mountains.

We had a wonderful sermon on Romans 17:17-21 talking about our relationships with others. The main emphasis was on verses 17-18 "Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." That can be a hard one to do. I want to defend myself when someone says something that hurts me. I really need to watch saying things without thinking about what it could mean to the other person or the hurt that it might cause. We can ask for forgiveness after saying something but the words were still spoken and can cause damage in relationships. As I have grown older, I have become wiser and am more careful but there are times when I had to bite my tongue to keep quiet.

My granddaughter has a job at a store as a cashier that she just started about a week ago. She mostly works evenings after school and Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Yesterday she went to work for her first 8 hours. She was so tired when she got home and then she went to a friends house who was having a movie marathon. Their movies were over at 12:45am. She was even more tired (if possible) when it came to going to church. She got there late but came home to take a nap then go to work for 4 hours today. She jokingly told me she did not like "adulting" and having to work to pay for things. She is very social and having this job of working with people is really good for her as a social outlet.

Barb - You do have a lot of birthdays coming up! What day is your birthday. We want to wish you greetings on your special day. Your Thanksgiving food sounds delicious. I used to make Jello a lot but have gotten away from doing that. My children used to ask for a poke cake for their birthdays. In case that is new to anyone, after the sheet cake is baked, holes are punched in the cake with a fork and jello is poured over the top of the cake then it is iced with whipped cream. The jello goes into the holes of the cake to give it a nice fruity flavor and pretty colored vertical stripes. The cake is not too sweet with the whipped cream on the top.

Judith - with all of the rain you have been getting, I would think that getting the leaves up from your yard would be a really heavy job to do. I am glad that your family can help you with this. What kind of tree do you have in your yard. We had huge sugar maples in our yard growing up and I loved the bright red leaves.

Susan - You have such cute boys. Do you cut Colin's hair also? During covid I trimmed Glenn's hair but I was glad when he could go back to the barber because I am not an expert at haircutting at all! I pray for your friend in the hospital. I am sure that you are a comfort to him and his wife.

Susan my prayers are with your friend and his wife. I am sure you are a comfort as you visit and pray for them, and bringing encouraging words as you stand with this dear couple. Your Boys look so good, you do such a wonderful job grooming them. Their dear faces are so sweet, such cute Boys.

Barb, you do have a busy time with Thanksgiving just around the corner, you said you were travelling to Andover to celebrate your Grandson’s 10th Birthday. Please wish him a Happy Birthday from me, thank you. And I don’t think we have your Birthday written down, we don’t want to miss it. I always loved baking cookies at Christmas with the grandkids, hope you enjoy. Love the idea of Photo Christmas cards of the Family, that is so special. Safe travels to Andover, praying for HH who arrives on the 29th getting ready for the new arrival. December 6th is coming quickly.

Linda, you brought back some happy memories, my Grandma and Mom made Poke cakes for Birthdays and just for any occasion. They used all colours of jello sometimes they almost made what you would call a Rainbow Poke cake. I love those cakes, not sweet at all. My grandma would let me use a big Fork and make pokes all over the cake and then she poured jello in a small measuring cup and let me pour jello all over, what fun. The Sermon taken from the Book of Romans you shared sounds like it was such a good message and so needed in these days. You mentioned the leaves and all the rain we’ve had, yes heavy and very dirty. The kids came today took down the hanging baskets. No other work was done as it was raining buckets. Hope we get a dry period soon. You asked about the trees I have. I have 7 Azalea Bushes, Evergreen and Pine Trees and out in the courtyard there are Maple Trees, and another kind with red/orange colour leaves. There are Pine Evergreen and Cedar trees all through the property where our Condo and Townhouses are built. We are in a Park type setting. We have one of the largest complexes in the area. Some of our trees out back are protected by the city as they are over 100 years old.

Well it’s late now. I was posting last night and MFP crashed and I lost my post so came back and it has turned into Monday at 12:47am. Off to bed I go. Good Night God Bless. 🙏😇🤗

Good morning all. I am back from dropping Colin at the hospital for his appointment today. I'll pick him up later. He's fine - just needs some routine procedures done.

It's good to hear from you all. Thank you all for praying for Joe and Eileen. They let Joe go home on Palliative care. Hopefully we will see him today or tomorrow. He is inspiring, showing his faith in the Lord every step of the way. He is cheerful and relaxed. He'll shed a tear with us but he doesn't stay down. His wife is the same. It's almost as though they are ministering to us, not the other way around. They were missionaries in Niugini and Joe is of course still a Pastor. I hope I am like him in my demeanor when my own time comes.

    Hugs to you all.

Good eve here not for Susan
I think we get your weather Linda a day later or so.
We are getting the cold in the 40,’s today after a weekend of being in the 60’s. Tomorrow a bit colder & then it will be in the 30’s & just below freezing 31* on Sunday. So our way home Sunday will be cold.
We went to see the movie “Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” It was good. We went with our SS class.
I get my Prolia shot tomorrow. Harry will watch Evan. He has a fever. We are hoping it’s his 2 year molars. He has a runny nose. So maybe. I like to get a family picture of them on Thursday as all I have is a Halloween pic of the family or one with a grumpy Blake.
    Making the salad tomorrow too.

Susan. Hope all went well with Colin. Prayers for you guys be careful driving your golf cart.

Linda. Stay safe & warm with the up & down temps. Plus will you get snow. We may but it seems more east of us later in the week.

Judith. You got some nice plants. I have 3 azalea bushes 2 rhododendrons & 3 lilac bushes. I have some peonies & one hydrangea bush.
    Prayers for your health too.
    Prayers for all.
Stay safe & well all. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I got a lot of exercise today. We went to Planet Fitness for 30 minutes of recumbent bike and then I walked a mile to my doctor appointment. The appointment was for my yearly Medicare physical. It is mainly talking about keeping up on procedures that need to be done, vaccinations, hearing, memory, etc. It was supposed to be a question and answer type of appointment but my doctor says that if I come in, he wants to make sure I am healthy otherwise too. He checks my heart, lungs, reflexes and abdomen. He wanted me to do a balance test but my new hip did not want to do it yet. It is pretty sore just trying to go up and down the stairs right now.

Susan - prayers continue as you minister to your friends. It is a beautiful things that you can experience his sadness and joy and contentment with his circumstances. I agree that they are ministering to you also. I am sure that he is more comfortable to be home in familiar surroundings.

Judith - It sounds so pretty to have a condo in a "park" with all the flowering bushes and trees. We want to bring some wild roses from our mountain property to our home in Grand Junction but are trying to figure out where to put them. We do not have a lot of space for them since they spread so quickly. They also have sharp thorns but they smell so beautiful. We would have to keep them trimmed down to avoid getting pricked by the thorns.

Barb - I'm praying for a safe journey to see your family. It sounds like a really fun time and very delicious food.

Susan, hope the routine procedures that Colin had were all ok and his Doctor found him to be in good health. You are welcome for praying for Joe and Eileen. I agree, from what I have heard about Joe he sounds so inspiring to all who come to visit him. I too hope I can be so inspiring when my time comes. My prayers continue for Joe and for his dear wife Eileen. 🙏

Barb, hope your vaccine for your osteoporosis goes well and you find it helps you. We are having cold temps like you in the 30’s and 40’s. Stay warm Barb. Glad Harry is watching Evan while you get the shot. Will pray for Evan, no fun getting in molars and having a fever. The Christmas Pageant sounds like it was a good one to see. Thank you for your kind comments about the flowers I have at my place.I too have had rhododendrons, they are so pretty. Lilacs are beautiful and the fragrance is beautiful.

Linda, you sure got a lot of exercise at the Planet Fitness and then you walked to your Doctors office. You amaze me with the progress you have made since your surgery. I am sure your next visit to the Doctors you will be able to do the balance test. Yes it is such a beautiful setting here, outback of the complex we have outdoor play area and equipment for the Children who live in the Building and in the townhouses. Roses are so beautiful, what I did when I lived back East I lined both sides of our long driveway with Roses, we got a lot of comments as people walked by. Not sure if you have space like that to plant your roses.

Blessings all, it’s getting late so this gal is heading to bed.Good Night 😴 God Bless 🙏

Hello everyone. It's a cloudy day today but feels like it is going to be hot and muggy already. We have lots to do today so I will dress cool.

Judith, yes, Colin came through his procedure just fine and is back to his usual self today. He rested a lot yesterday. Thank you for praying for him, Joe and Eileen. Colin will spend time with Joe today while Eileen goes to her own Dr appointments. Colin has a Physio appointment himself today.

Linda, it's amazing to me to hear how much you can already do with your new hip. Balance will come with time, especially now you know what the Dr is looking for. You can do brief practices within your pain boundaries at home! Thank you also for praying for our friends. You are right, Joe being home is much more comfortable for him than staying in hospital is.

Barb, thank you also for praying. You are right, it is morning here now on Wednesday. I hope your grandson is just teething. Praying for you all and for safe travels too. I'll be careful on my cart. I drive slowly around here! Colin and I went in it to make some deliveries of craft supplies yesterday. It is so convenient to have it here.

I'm off to start my day - working on my Christmas cards, doing a Zoom call, house cleaner is coming, the dogs need grooming, and we have a dress rehearsal for Saturday 's Christmas concert starting at 2pm.

We got all of our presents wrapped today except for the two that are being delivered to our door in the next few days. It feels good to have our shopping mostly done. My D-I-L asked that I make the apple pies I am making gluten free. We had to go to multiple stores to try to find them. I don't know if there are a lot of people who want the pie crusts or if they do not order many and were out. It seems gluten free is becoming more popular among a lot of our friends.

Judith - thanks for the gluten free recipes you have been posting. They sound delicious. That is so convenient to have a play park in your complex for children to play on. It would be so convenient for parents to not have to walk far to let their children play. We do not have room around our driveway to have flowers but I do have some nice roses near our front door. My mom had white and purple lilacs planted the sides of our driveway when I was growing up. They were so pretty and fragrant.

Susan - it sounds like you are getting a lot of use out of your golf cart. Is it battery powered or gas powered? How exciting to do the dress rehearsal for Saturday's performance. Are you all dressing up in Christmas colors? It would be strange to have hot weather for Christmas but I guess you are accustomed to it and might think it is strange that we have cold weather for Christmas.

Barb - We saw "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" last week and really enjoyed it. It was funny but had a good moral in the end to not make assumptions about people. I hope Evan is feeling better soon.

Susan, thank you for letting me know that Colin came thru the procedures well. Good he rested, I will keep both Joe and Eileen in prayer. Hope your Zoom call goes well and you get your Christmas cards made. Hope you ha e a good practice preparing for the Christmas concert on Thursday. Hope the Boys get groomed and everything else you needed to do gets done.

Linda, glad you got all the presents wrapped and ready to go. I am sure the apple pies will be good. You are right it does seem many are going the gluten free recipes. You are welcome for the recipes I have shared. They come from Bea who makes these recipes available. Thanks for sharing what your Mom did with having Lilacs lined on the sides of your driveway, they are so lovely and have a beautiful scent. Nice you have
    Roses around the front door.

Take care everyone, it’s nearing Thanksgiving Day that comes Thursday for those in the USA.

Will try and post another recipe tomorrow in case you need another for your special day!

Susan you are way ahead of me. I hope next week to start Christmas cards & get my sister packages in the mail. But Canada still has a PO strike. So, may have to mail it to my niece who has a business in Vancouver but has a USA address. Praying that it comes to an end soon. I remember when I was a student at Moody Canada having PO strikes back in the 70’s.
So glad Colin made it through his procedure well prayers for your friends as you help each other.

Linda. Happy thanksgiving. May all be good for you. Will you get the snow storm? This morning it looked like the whole state of CO would get it.
Yes, the movie has a very nice moral.

Judith prayers for you. Your plants sound neat. Praying for you also, that your strike, post office, gets solved quickly.

I got the house cleaned, mashed potatoes made & Harry made chilli. We watched Mariposa as her mom, Hong Hong had a Dr visit all good. She will have her last ultra sound on Monday a& all will go, including her mom.
Her mom starts her way out Thursday afternoon. Friday for arrival.
Happy 🦃 to the USA group.

Stay safe all as temps may drop.
We had cloudy then rain this afternoon & now. Clear tomorrow & real cold his weekend. Sunday our high will below freezing at 30*.

Susan maybe you can send some of the humidity the extra up a north west for us. Ha Ha.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US. Australia doesn't have a Thanksgiving celebration and I know in Canada you celebrated in October. Our worlds are all different!

Judith, thank you for praying for Joe and Eileen. Yes, the Zoom call went well. I did finish my fan card.

    s13j78nceizc.jpg

The dogs got groomed except for Jasper's nails. I'll do them today. Rehearsal was long. We went from 2pm to 5:30pm. They were getting the lights, sound, props and running sheet ready. Starlight Entertainers is singing 25 songs, Uke Jam sings 3, the Guitar Gems sing too, we have various Dad joke skits, and Santa and Mrs Claus make an appearance. The concert is Saturday night. Here's a picture of some of us from where I mostly stay on stage. We perform this Saturday night.

    l2v4im7eeuyc.jpg

Yes, it is hot here at Christmas so we women wear colourful t-shirts and skirts or shorts. The men have Christmas shirts and shorts or slacks. We're wearing Christmas attire in the photo. Most women wear something sparkly like earrings, headbands, light up necklaces and pins. The t-shirts have something picked out in sequins normally.

When I was a child I lived in North America so it was actually an adjustment when we had hot Christmases in Australia. My mother never felt Christmassy again, which was sad. I'm used to it now but cold Christmases were what felt right for a long time. It isn't about the weather though, right? It's really about Christ's birth and about having family time.

Linda, yes. The cart is getting a lot of use. It is run by four car batteries. I just charge it in the garage when I return from my jaunts. Colin fitted it out with a clear rain cover yesterday. Now I can take it in the rain without the seats getting wet while it is out in the open. I am glad we got the cart. You are certainly organised with your gift wrapping! We still need to do a little Christmas shopping and wrapping. We've done everything except for one family's gifts.

Barb, I guess you are travelling. I hope all goes well and Evan got over his fever. Take care and we'll hear from you soon I hope.

We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland of snow. We got about 3 inches but once it stopped, it started melting off the trees. When the water from the snow was about the drip off the ends of the branches, the drops glistened like diamonds in the sunlight. It was really beautiful. I made three apple pies for tomorrows dinner today. One is gluten free for our son. The texture of the pie crust was grainy from the rice flour. The taste was fine but I prefer the texture of the regular crust. If I were gluten free I could get used to it though.

I am doing a overhaul of the student records for the school as we move forward with the changes in the next few months. I am trying to get them more organized and to match what the Spanish student files look like. I have found a few errors but I am also having problems with my computer not having what I need then it suddenly appears. It gets a bit frustrating! I can't be on here too long. We have people coming over for a prayer time. Their schedule is pretty full so I must be sure that I can meet them when it is convenient for them and not to make them wait.

I started last evening and ended up with the last few posts being on Thursday early morning, way after Midnight!

So from my House in Canada I wish all the families here who Celebrate this Special Day a very Blessed & Happy Thanksgiving!

Linda and Glen and all your family may you be blessed abundantly! Have a Blessed Thanksgiving with your families. We have so much to be thankful for. We serve a Mighty God!
Please be careful Linda and be safe as you travel through the snow that fell overnight. Hope you get all the Student records done that you are working on. Have a wonderful Prayer meeting!

Susan, glad you have a rain cover Colin made for the golf cart so when you are out in the rain you stay dry. Your Fan Card is lovely. Thank you for sharing. I am starting to think about what design I will do for my families cards. I love making cards but with my ongoing treatment I only do handmade cards for my Son and Family and Daughter and family. I have bought lovely Scripture cards for friends I give to. Sadly this year due to our postal strike I can’t send to my Brother in Boston and to the rest of my family in Canada. I can only hand give to those I see in person. Love the picture of those from the dress Rehearsal you had preparing for the Christmas Concert. I see a little red thru the picture. I look forward to hearing all about the Concert and Play.

Barb, I am praying for Amy as she is travelling today from Hong Kong to be with her daughter and to be here to see the birth of her grandchild. I am excited for you Barb, having another precious little one in your midst. I am sure Mariposa is so excited. How is Evan? Hope he is over his fever and feeling well again. As I read when you were living in Canada and we’re attending Moody, was that Moody Bible College? Yes we have had our share of Postal Strikes. But at Christmas is sure not a great time. I hope you can get a card to your sister in Victoria via sending to your niece who has a USA address and also has business in Vancouver. Hope it all works out. So glad you got your mashed potatoes made and Harry made the chilli. Sounds like you are all set for Thanksgiving Barb and Harry and the Birth of another little one.

Well it’s now 1:00am Pacific time here in BC Canada. Good Night all; God Bless!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to my Fellow North American's. It is true we have so many things to be thankful for. Even things that are hard can be a blessing from things learned about ourselves and others. I am thankful Judith and Marilyn for your tenacity in fighting for your health. Both of you have very serious health issues but are still finding things to keep your faith strong and praising God for what you do have. I am thankful to you Barb for your example of serving your family and your love for your grandchildren. Not everyone is able to be as involved with their grandchildren as you are. I am grateful for another grandchild that will become part of your family very soon. JC I am so grateful for your fervent prayers you put on the prayer thread. Your prayers show that you have a very close personal relationship with the Lord. Sandy - I am grateful that God has spared you multiple times from damage done by hurricanes. I appreciate that you post when you are able. Susan - I am grateful for your love of Colin and your joy of travel adventures. I love to travel with you in word as well as in pictures to areas we will never have the ability to visit. I also appreciate your talents of making cards, playing the ukulele and flute and singing that you share with so many people.

My granddaughter wanted to watch the Thanksgiving Parade on TV so I got up early to make breakfast for everyone. We had bacon, eggs, and waffles. My granddaughter likes to put any leftover apple pie filling I have on her waffles so I made extra yesterday as I was making the pies. Today my daughter and I are making the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, an olive and pickle tray, and deviled eggs plus the pies from yesterday. Other parts of the meal are coming from other family members. We will be eating at 4pm then come home and put up the Christmas tree since we are leaving tomorrow back to Grand Junction. The roads should be fine on that day. Today they are dry and snow is not expected in the mountains. The ski areas really liked the snow they got yesterday. Many of them have already opened or will open soon.

I need to go start getting ready for our celebration but may be back later.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all celebrating. I always remember my early childhood family times when I lived in California and celebrated Thanksgiving. It isn't celebrated here but my memories live on.

Linda, thank you for your heartfelt gratitude post. I love that you put in words the blessing each person is. You are slso a blessing to us all. I love that you share your life with us here and obviously care about each one of us. I'm grateful for your friendship and prayers.

Judith, may your day be a nice one. I know you celebrated Thanksgiving last month in Canada. Yes, the Saturday night Christmas concert will be full of music and skits. The fractured fairytale play happens Feb 1st.

I have a sound check with the Uke Group this morning so better get ready for the day. Thinking of each of you.

So Amy is here in Kansas! Thank you for the prayers. She didn’t eat while in Los Angeles I’m not sure why. Pls pray as she adjusts to, central time ; plus she is very tired. Monday will be the last ultrasound. She will go with Hong Hong that will be nice for them.
We leave tomorrow to,Andover near Wichita for grandson’s bday. Then home Sunday right now 3 siblings and families are there. Jean the youngest is there & James, Branson, family are there too. It is nice for the cousins. Our oldest, Harry 3 won’t be coming with a baby coming & Amy needed to get adjusted to our time.
I got our Christmas cards & will start getting them plus packages together next week. I also hope bake make some Christmas goodies.

Judith. Glad you are all ready for Christmas. I got some decorations out. . I will get some more, like our lighted wreath & 2 candle lights. I figure with going away to wait on them.
Tree will come out, maybe next weekend? I do it by myself. Thank goodness I got a lighted tree so that makes it easier.

Trust all are having a good weekend.

Thank you JC for your prayers.
Susan I hope you are having a good day.
    Prayers for all.

We had a safe trip over the mountain to our Grand Junction home. I am so glad that this house does not have stairs! My hip was very tired of trying to climb up the stairs at the Westminster house. It was good exercise but very tiring. I am fine walking on flat ground but for some reason, trying to haul my body up tall stairs was more difficult. LOL I have my physical therapy session on Tuesday so we will see if all that stepping up the stairs made my hip stronger.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving at my son's house. They had really rearranged their furniture and had everything decorated so nicely. As usual we had lots of leftovers so I will not need to prepare new food for a little while.

As we were driving today, we were listening to a Christian radio station. The preacher said that when we lift our hands in praise, we are in the humble state of a child who lifts their hands up asking for their parent to pick them up. I had never heard that.

Judith - I am glad you were able to celebrate with your friends. Sometimes our schedules do not match the holiday and we have to do it early like you are. that is what we are doing with our family Christmas. Our daughter will be in Kansas on Christmas day so we are doing it early.

Barb -I pray that Amy made it safely on her flight. I am glad that your Thanksgiving was a fun time.

Susan - thanks for sharing your card. As usual it is so pretty.

Glad to hear you all had nice Thanksgivings. Family time is so special.

Barb, it's good to know Amy arrived safely too. Jet lag is a real thing. It can take a long time to get over it.

Our Christmas concert is tonight so I am having an easy day. I want to have energy for tonight.
