Good morning Peeps. π€
Nothing crazy this morning... Managed about 45 minutes of light to medium intensity cardio. Started off with 100 x 20lb slam ball tosses of various varieties to the Medicine Ball Rebounder. Basically, a combination of Chest press throws, 2 handed over head throws, and left and right Oblique throws. Followed by a short break and another bunch of throws. I wasn't really sweating by this time, so I headed out the front door and did 2 laps around the Community. I slogged all the way up the hill both times. SO yeah, this means I'm pretty darn near slogging the entire laps. Then I came back in and continued to throw the 20lb slam ball. And then did a third lap, once again slogging all the way up that hill. And finished up with a few more rounds of Tossing the ball. π
OF course, there always needs to be some sort of fly in my ointment. It seems that catching the ball and continually raising my hands and having them under tension and then relaxing during each throw tends to throw off the Fitbit off entirely. And it practically kills my heart rate even though I can feel my heart beating in my chest and as soon as I stop throwing the ball my heart rate immediately starts to rise. Whatever!!! I'll fool with some different ways to wear the Fitbit over the coming weeks as I use this Rebounder again and see if I can find a happy place? π
Forgot to start my Fitbit until after the initial 100 throws... So, I'm just going to estimate and say 500 calories burned this morning. That's good enough for me, for my first day back since getting sick. The good news is, I find tossin the medicine ball passes the time quite quickly. You need to pay attention to what you doing, cause a 20 pound slam ball to the face will actually hurt a lot. And when you're throwing the ball with some gusto double overhand it basically flies right back towards your face with equal gusto, so you got get out in front and catch it with both hands and shoot it up over your head for the next windup. Takes a wee bit of concentration or pain will ensue. lol Other than that it was nice to mix in with the laps around the community or perhaps rounds on the Elliptical in the future. ππ
Time to drag my *kitten* to work folks. You all have the most amazing day... π€π₯°π€π
Did I mention we now have an unplanned trip to Ottawa this weekend, (So I can get my Dumbbellls)... NOooooooooo then another trip to Manitoulin the following weekend. It's none stop busy busy for some time to come. ππ
PS Lynn is in full on Cold mode. ππ€5 -

Really like your positive thoughts especially the first one. Awesome NSV!

Thatβs some pretty good cardio this morning. Watch out for your fingers also. I sprained my finger doing Medicine ball slams. I am pretty clumsy though. Hope Lynn feels better soon.1 -

Had a binge last night. This meant a jump in the scale this morning as it was all carbs last night. This is something I need to get a grip on. For those that are new, I have binge eating disorder. I did therapy and do pretty good for the most part. No hugs please as I am proud of the progress I have made in this area overall. I am going to try and bump up my appointment with the dietitian who works with people with eating disorders. Workout yesterday was ok. Not sure if today will be a rest day. I am pretty sore so it may be a good idea.
Happy Hump Day!3 -

Endurance hiking. I love to just go out and explore new trails plus it is great training for the Bataan!3 -
For transformation Tuesday...
Me around my heaviest, about 185 (I don't have many pics from then):
Me at my lowest weight, about 125, after a year of doing keto with zero cheats: (December, 2018):
Me at my current weight, about 140:
My goal weight is 132 pounds, which is a good maintenance weight for me. Weighing 125 was a super challenging weight to maintain. I want to be able to live life and not obsess about my weight, and enjoy the occasional treat!
I'm a little late to the party, but Starbucks has never looked so good. πππ5 -

Both swimming and cardio workouts in the pool. I love swimming not only because I can keep my heart rate in the cardio zone but it is relaxing at the same time. The cardio/weight workouts I do in the pool are so much fun.3 -

I love to Paddle. Kayak or SUP. I also love swimming and scuba diving. I guess I love anything to do with the water. Water is soothing and restoring to me. I did grow up with an in ground pool from the time I can remember and Cousteau was my childhood hero. I even wanted to be a Marine Biologist. As a child growing up in south Georgia I spent just about everyday of the year in my pool. I have felt like a fish out of water ever since I left my parents. Maybe I need to invest in a pool...7 -

Water offers so many ways to exercise. I want to get some headphones I cam wear in the pool so I can listen to music while doing laps.3 -

Tell us about the Bataan?
So the Bataan is a memorial marathon that honors the men who survived and those who didn't the original Bataan Death March that took place in the Philippines during World War II. The march is held in the New Mexico desert and includes hiking up the side of a "small" hill and walking through 2 1/2 miles of sand pits while wearing a ruck that weighs between 30 and 40lbs. The march is held at White Sands Missile Range in southern New Mexico because a good portion of the men who were forced on the march where part of the New Mexico national guard. I could go into more history but I will spare you. (I use to be a history teacher). Also the march is known by its saying #morethanamarathon because you get to meet the survivors and hear their stories.6 -
