Happy dance time! Woohoo! Mihani, that is GREAT news!!!! I hope she turns out even better than you expect.
Just got back from PT. I haven't had much improvement, other than a temporary increase in range of motion if she does a massage. It is leading me to believe that massage therapy might be the way to go, or maybe a combo. I'm not sure if I can do both with my insurance, but I might spring for a massage or two on my own dime if I need to.
I tried to resist but couldn't help myself. I signed up for a 2nd textile class, this one about dyeing with Indigo. Class and kit ordered. I may be biting off more than I can chew, but since the classes remain available for 3 years, I can do one after the other if I decide to.0 -
Carla, as addictions go your artistic pursuits are healthy! Sorry to hear your shoulder isn't improving much.
I'm so tired today. I am going to bed super early. I feel like I didn't sleep well last night although I don't recall waking up a lot.
Still eating lots of greens, salad, potatoes. Nothing exciting to report on the menu. Enjoying the smoothies in the morning. The ninja makes it so much easier to have smoothies.

Congratulations, Mihani...so happy for you!

Carla...oh gosh...sorry bout the shoulder...hopefully, the massage therapy on a more long term basis will be the ticket. At my PT place...lots of shoulders are being worked on. Joints, so difficult sometimes.
Having coffee...
menu will be
fresh juices
French fries...love that gizmo I got...makes fries in a snap
salad
watermelon, blueberries
I had my final appointment with the surgeon yesterday...he was more than pleased...in fact, he did not think it was possible that I would be doing as well. Told him my left knee was so happy that we MUST meet here next January and do it all again...Right Knee is standing in the wings.
I go back to work Friday...thankfully, I need a paycheck after three months.
The sauna is working miracles. I had been so restless at night ... could not settle down...more like restless leg syndrome. NOW, just very little of that and better each time I use the sauna.
Just once a day but maybe tomorrow two times...morning and night so I, hopefully, get a REALLY good night's sleep Thursday. 12 hours of work Friday.
Alrighty then, girls...time to skeeeeeeeeeeeee daddle. Later, my sweets.

Hahaha! Great video clip Nanc! I am so happy that your recovery has been relatively easy and going so well. Your menu sounds great and I'm happy to hear the sauna is helping your sleep too.
Another loooong day. They are all long lately. I hope I can get in a full weekend of work to do some catching up. Last weekend I had a concert on Saturday and got together with the family on Sunday so my work time was a bit limited. I have nothing planned this weekend so I hope to get a little caught up.
Counting down the days to the new gal starting. I really have a good feeling about her that she's going to be a huge benefit to the office. I hope I'm not wrong. Just from talking to her she seems to be all about let's get work done!
I did eat a few crackers today which definitely aren't on my list of things I should be eating. I went on Amazon this morning and ordered some new varieties of ready to eat shelf stable foods. I don't need something totally delicious for lunch but I do need something filling, nutritious and easy to keep me out of the crackers and pretzels, so we'll see how these are. If any good I'll report on the brands and varieties. Most of these have small amounts of oil which isn't ideal but given my current situation with work whatever works is my goal. I passed on the ones that were higher in fat or had oil as one of the first few ingredients. There are some brands and websites that offer 100% compliant but they are so expensive. Once the new gal gets established I can get back to cooking my own darn food again but it's too much for me to deal with right now.

morning sweet peas!
had coffee already...just getting my "stuff" together to head over to the gym and sauna for 20-30 minutes...I take 32 ounces of water in there with me to stay hydrated.
Taking lunch (vegan Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches , grapefruit bubbly, Later July cilantro and l lime chips for the four fabulous people at my Physical Therapy place to say THANKS for all their hard work.
I will continue two days a week for four weeks starting next week...Tuesdays and Thursdays.
But this is my official end of therapy.
Prepped veggies and fruit last night to make a big batch of carrot, apple, celery, cucumber, lemon, ginger juice. I might have mentioned this before but I used to just make carrot apple...well, the cukes and celery thin it out so much and I know those two additional ingredients are totally hydrating.
It will be interesting to see what you came up with from Amazon. I just put in my second order for Daily Harvest. I ordered just flatbreads and soups. I'll give you a list later. I like the flatbreads cuz I am such a carb lover...and this is a way to get a controlled amount without me eating a whole loaf of something or other. (insert eye roll here)
Nothing much else to report...busy day gathering myself and getting ready for tomorrow.
today
coffee
juice as described above
canteloupe and blueberries
plant based burger on dave's killer bread...with LTO, ketchup.
that's it for me...you lovely ladies have a fab day.

Hope you have a great first day back at work, Nanc. Your juice sounds really healthy and tasty.
My Amazon order arrived today and I tried the farro and quinoa cup with roasted veggies and herbs for lunch. Not 100% compliant it does have some oil but it was surprisingly tasty. https://www.cucinaandamore.com/pages/kitchen-love
I wish someone would come up with something delicious, compliant AND affordable. I'm dreaming, aren't I? LOL
Oh well, just need to make some compromises to get through the next few weeks. The new gal starts a week from Tuesday. I am counting down the days! Then I will get back to cooking my own food.
B - smoothie
L - as said
D - hummus, power greens, pickled onion, cucumber in an ezekiel tortilla

I'm up...and I am ready to go back to work...well kinda. I set my alarms...I use Alexa.
Alexa, please set my alarm for every Friday and Monday at 4:50am to Toby Keith, Courtesy of the Red White and Blue, The Angry American. And golly gee...Mr. Toby Keith woke me up this morning. Thank-you, darlin!
My sleep was pretty good...bout 5 hours which, for me, is very good. Now, the test will be no sauna until Tuesday. Usually, I could go on Sunday, but they are closed for Easter.
Mihani, we are so happy for you...yay to be getting a REAL EMPLOYEE...I just know you are going to be a new person with this change in your life.
I will be checking out your site of food ... I'm always on the hunt. I put my Daily Harvest order on hold...my freezer is TOO FULL. I have to work through it. So lots of frozen, not so great choices...but I will have a quart of juice a day to hopefully zero out some of that...won't get me ahead, but maybe won't do too much damage.
Today
coffee
quart juice I just made
plant based burger...simple...dave's killer bread, burger, ketchup and lettuce.
grapes
OUT OF Melons...
Oh My Gosh...the cantaloupe was sooooooo good...watermelon was just ok...maybe a C+
Alrighty, my sweets...off to finish my coffee, peacefully...then jump in the shower and go go go.
Later, mates!

Oops, left the page and lost my post. What a doofus!
Hope you have a great first day back, Nanc!
Mihani, a bit of oil in order to have easy to prep meals seems like a good compromise for now. i'll be interested to read your reviews
My food is still not on track, but I'm getting a lot of greens in my grocery shop tomorrow. I'm going to make a batch of the tu-no, which I didn't get around to yet, and I'm going to go back to smoothies only for breakfast. the oatmeal makes me crave carbs all day.
Happy Friday!0 -
Made it through another week juggling both jobs. Not too bad but definitely looking forward to week after next and the new gal starting. I have been going back and forth whether I am going to the office both days this weekend, but now that I realize I basically have almost nothing clean to wear tomorrow guess I'll stay home to work and do laundry and a little housework tomorrow and go to the office Sunday.
Carla, I was just thinking today it has been a long time since I have had oatmeal for breakfast. I was doing ezekiel toast for a while and now smoothies. But I am planning some oatmeal this weekend.
Nanc, hope work went well today and that you get a good sleep even without the sauna. You just reminded me I have one of those little watermelons that I need to cut into tomorrow. Hope it's good, but I think summer is the best time for it.
B - smoothie
L - Teriyaki bowl
D - big ol' salad with some beans added

Morning, girls...thanks so much for the cheer!
Have a good, healthy shop today, Carla...go early...I am sure it will be busy...day before Easter.
Hang in there Mihani...HELP IS ON THE WAY...you can do it...try not to stress...do what you can... do not do what TWO PEEPS SHOUDL BE DOING...you're only one person...no longer a person and maybe a half, doing work for two WHOLE PEEPS. Hope that made sense.
work went fine...and I slept pretty good. I was tired. Man, about 2 ish, I was hey, time for my nap. LOL My eyes wanted to close. But I made it. No pain at work.
I need salad stuff...will not be able to shop until Tuesday...no time today and they are closed tomorrow and no time Monday.
Glad I made enough juice ... good through Monday.
today,
coffee
quart carrot/apple/cuke/celery/ginger/lemon juice...lots of ginger
not sure here...
grapes
Have a lovely day, sweet ones.

Good morning. Yay for a good first day back at work and NO PAIN, Nanc!
Laundry ready to into the dryer and then I'm off to the grocery. I was thinking they may be mobbed today with tomorrow being Easter, but hopefully it won't be too bad. I just need greens for my smoothies, dog food, some household supplies. For my smoothies, I fill about half the ninja cup with baby spinach then a handful of power greens, plus 1/2 cup frozen berries and half a banana, half a scoop of amazing grass powder, cinnamon, and 4 walnut halves. I will try to get away from the amazing grass and try oats and chia/flax seeds to thicken, plus a drop of vanilla for flavor boost since I use water rather than plant milk.
Plan for today...
B - smoothie after I get home from the grocery not hungry yet
L - ezekiel avocado toast with sliced tomato, cup of veggie soup
D - big ol' salad with beans added, watermelon

The end!
ETA: I’m just looking over this menu and it’s a lot of food… so I’m not exactly sure what I will have…but those will be my choices… I’ll let you know how the day goes!

Happy Easter ya'll.
Went to the office for about half a day today. I am exhausted and didn't have it in me to stay later. Yesterday I worked a few hours then went to take a quick nap and slept for 4 hours. Yikes!
Got home today and baked some sweet potatoes. Made E2 hummus. Also made a big stir-fry of onion, sweet peppers, mushrooms, kale and spinach. A pot of quinoa. I read a tip that sweet potatoes thicken up a smoothie so I will try that this week and get away from the amazing grass powder. I think the Mary's Mini-McDougall did a lot for me, but... while I truly love potatoes, after two weeks of having them for lunch and dinner, I was honestly feeling a bit queasy at the idea of eating more potatoes.
This week the plan is smoothies for breakfasts, cooked veggies and quinoa for lunches, ezekiel tortillas with hummus and loads of lettuce and cucumber for dinners, along with a salad. I have cantaloupe and watermelon for fruit, in addition to the frozen mixed berries and banana in my smoothies. The bananas I found were too big so I sliced them up and froze so I can just use a few slices for smoothies.

Up and at em...having coffee, then it's into the shower and get to it. It's my Friday.
I finally get to really enjoy my weekends...my schedule changed last year...from Fri -Mon to Fri, Sat, Mon.
So, while yesterday was a holiday and we were closed, I would have been off anyway.
Now, while I am off, I will be able to do stuff, since I have a brand, spanking new KNEE!
I do have Tue/Thu PT still ... for four weeks. But now, I get to enjoy the sauna and I am pretty good at getting to the pool, now. Have my gear all ready to go.
Coffee
quart juice, making new batch tomorrow.
ezekiel, Chao, mustard, lettuce sandwich
bean and rice burrito
corn on the cob when I get home tonight.
Have a good one, ladies.

Joe and I had a quiet Easter here. My parents were planning to come over, but my mom wasn't feeling well. We filled our weekend with a nice mix of yard work, cleaning, and lounging.
I had a smoothie for breakfast, and I made an impromptu curry with garbanzo beans, onions ginger and garlic for lunch. For dinner we have leftover mac and plant provolone cheese with steamed broccoli and baked tofu.
PT first thing tomorrow morning.

Hi Gals..
Nanc, glad you enjoyed your weekend! That's excellent you are getting in swims. Great exercise without taxing your joints.
Glad you had a nice Easter, Carla. Hope your mom is okay.
I made it through tax season. Yay!!! I'm so glad that is over. It has been rough trying to deal with all that in addition to doing my work plus the secretary's job and answering the phone etc. Next Tuesday can't come soon enough for me! Hope the new gal will be as great as we anticipate.
MUST get back on the morning treadmill habit. I have slacked off badly.

Yay! grats on making through another tax season, Mihani. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's never again as chaotic as this year.
I need to get into a TM habit again too. I have been doing some yard work but only light stuff that requires 1 shoulder. Our dog walks have morphed back to yard meanders, with us equipped with clippers and spades (happens every spring when there's lots to do). All good stuff, but I need a walk in there too. I'm thinking of going for a walk before I can have my 3rd cup of coffee in the mornings.
It is a lovely spring day here and our neighbor released their dairy cows into the pasture. Every spring I'm happy to see them back with all their little babies. So cute.
After PT, I'm going to put blinders on to avoid the yard work and take the doggos for a few loops around the property. I want to get some wildflower seeds planted, or at lease pick out some spots and start to prep the soil.
I'm also working on designing and carving blocks for printing on fabric. I have some bandanas and tea towels for dyeing on order.
Made it through yesterday without sweets !
Breakfast - smoothie
Lunch - curry
Dinner - if I don't make anything, I'll default to curry and a basic side salad

I just love hearing about your "farm life", Carla. Everything sounds so idyllic there. Another new artistic pursuit? You are a making maniac... I mean that in a good way of course!
Nanc, how's work going? Hope you aren't overdoing it.
My boss is off for a weekend trip and will be gone Friday through Monday. Woohoo! I really need some quiet time to work on some things and catch up a bit before the new gal starts on Tuesday.
B - ezekiel avocado toast with sliced tomato and arugula
L - quinoa and cooked veggies, half a baked sweet potato
D - hummus wrap with lots of veggies, couple clementines
0 -
It has been a creative frenzy over here. I've carved lots of blocks since I last posted, and I ordered a scroll saw so that I can cut plywood shapes for one of the upcoming natural dyeing classes. The tea towels and bandanas arrived so I will be trying out some block printing this weekend.
My food has been pretty good this week. I'm happy to finally be able to say that again. No sweets, no snacks, and eating in my fasting window.0 -
Way to go, Carla! I have been contemplating trying intermittent fasting lately. Do you find it helpful?
Four more days until help is on the scene. Two more work days, both of which my boss will be gone so it won't be as hectic, at least I sure hope so. Also hope I'm not building this poor woman up into some sort of savior of the office that she can never live up to. LOL
I'm going to spend most of the weekend working, probably from home Saturday and at the office Sunday. I want to get a lot done while the boss is away, although he will throw everything on his desk onto mine tonight which sucks because I haven't seen any surface of my desk in a couple weeks as it is. I'll spend most of tomorrow sorting through the piles of crap on my desk and trying to get everything organized and prioritized, and put the easy tasks aside for the new employee so I can get her started on some things while she gets familiar with the cases and how we do things.
I am definitely planning a vacation maybe mid-June, or staycation really, but I haven't had an entire week off in at least 6 years. I've barely even taken weekends off. I just want a week to chill, do some shopping, read lots of books. I don't think I've bought any new clothes in 2 years.
Next week I'm going to get back to ETL and more GBOMBS. I have been eating far too many starches lately.
0 -
oooh, a vacation Mihani! I'm so happy you are doing that for yourself. (of course, I'll believe when I see it!
)
You mentioned getting sick of potatoes and it reminded me about the potato diet where all you can eat is potatoes for an entire month!...a couple on youtube did that and it kickstarted their plant based diet but I don't think I could stand it.
Intermittent fasting works really well for me. I am not usually hungry first thing in the morning, so I can hold off until 10 or 11 without really noticing. That's breakfast. Then before dinner a small lunch or snack if I want, and dinner at 4pm.
Happy Friday!0 -
I'm holding myself to it, Carla! I will take a week off in June just not sure when yet. And I decided I'm going to hire a cleaning company that is highly recommended by a friend to come that week as well. I keep up on the basics but the nitty gritty cleaning not at all. I don't want to spend my first week off in forever cleaning baseboards and light fixtures! LOL
If I am happy with them I will likely hire them to come in once a month so it doesn't get so far gone in future.
My salad prepping friend is out of commission this week so I just got lots of baby spinach and spring mix on the way home tonight. I'll get my raw greens in with smoothies and wraps. I will throw some carrots through the food processor with the shredding blade and chop up some cucumber to add to the wraps. And make a batch of E2 hummus for the wraps.
I really hope once the new gal is up and running at the office that I can get back to better weekly prepping.
Yeah I could eat potatoes every day I think, but not every meal. That got old fast!
Tonight is a splurge. A daiya grilled cheese sammich with tomato soup. That was my favorite meal when I was a kid except back then it was actually cheese... if those processed american slices are actually cheese?
I brought lots of work home. Will see what I can get through tomorrow. I'm sure I'll run down to the office on Sunday for at least a few hours but mostly planning to work from home this weekend. I want to hang out with the old pup plus the weather is supposed to be lovely and I want to be around windows that open.
I'm doing a lot of babbling this evening but I guess I better go get on dinner. I got out of the office late then had to run to the store so everything is behind schedule. I do think I'll give the intermittent fasting a try starting Monday.
0 -
Mornin' ... up and at 'em. I got laundry and some cleaning done yesterday plus a fair amount of work. Getting ready to make Engine 2 hummus and roasted broccoli for this week.
I think I've settled on my plan for intermittent fasting this week. The ninja came with 3 cups and a couple to-go lids so I'm going to take my smoothie to the office and have it around 11:00. Then something light around 2:00 like some raw or cooked veggies with a yogurt or a baked sweet potato and fruit, small handful of nuts or sunflower seeds. Dinner around 6:00 which will be 2 ezekiel tortillas with E2 hummus, lots of lettuce, cucumber, pickled red onion. Another half serving of nuts or seeds. Going to get away from the amazing grass in my smoothies and use a tablespoon each of hemp hearts and chia/flax.
I plugged this plan into the food diary to see how it worked out and it should be right around 1200 to 1300 calories per day.

Just glimpsed ... need to take time and read...but gotta keep moving...been off the rails since back to work.
Saw a vacation in the near future for Mihani...wooohooo!
Yay, for Carla and her creative FRENZY...really good for the soul!
Just finished about 15 min walk with Lulu...could go more but right knee says no.
Making a batch of juice this morning...then off to the sauna for 30 min and then pool for 45.
That is my schedule on my four days off...walk, sauna, pool.
Now, to eat properly along with juicing.
coffee
tofu scramble
juice
big salad
juice
other half of salad
fruit
the end. TTYL, sweet peas.
Three more weeks of PT...two times a week...Tues/Thurs.0 -
UP way too early...darn...was doing so well with my sleeping and boom! last night, sleepless in Arizona.
I think today you get your new gal, Mihani. Yay for you! Here's to a brighter future.
coffee
48 ounces juice throughout the day...day two of really trying to stick to something...and the work munch-a-thon is my problem right now...16 ounces extra
salad...very basic
gardein be'f burger (four in a bag)...the very small one ... not the new giant ultimate...on dave's killer bread...just ketchup and lettuce
later, mates

Oh bummer! Sorry you didn't sleep well, Nanc. Hope your sauna helps you sleep better tonight.
New gal starts tomorrow. Woohoo!
I did okay today with the intermittent fasting. I took my smoothie to work and got so busy I forgot about it until noon. Was still hungry after that so half hour later I ate some of my broccoli then I was full and didn't eat my yogurt or fruit. Came home and having my hummus wrap. I had planned for two but might only have one and an apple.
If I can keep this up then maybe I can get the scale moving again, but I need to watch I'm eating enough food. I've done this before skipping breakfast and it wasn't long before I was off the rails because I hadn't been eating nearly enough to fuel my days.

I know it is too early to say after one day but the new employee seems like a perfect fit and I like her. She's funny and very nice. I gave her some fairly easy things just to get her started and she cranked them all out, and she's great on the phone.
IF went well again today. And second day in a row morning treadmill.
