@deevan451 Great goals, you got this!
@19shmoo69 So glad you're back my friend! Yes coffee tastes amazing and is great for when you need something without calories (I drink tea at night too). You have a blessed day too!
Hi gang, another month is here, how are we doing so far? I'm whimpering in, had an upset stomach most the day and wasn't feeling well but hope to wake up feeling better tomorrow. I went on my first dates in the year 2000s last weekend, isn't that a completely freaky thought that I hadn't been on a date in the new century? Yeah made me a nervous wreck for them but they were fun even though my pain went nuts from anxiety, we went out to dinner Friday, to a concert Saturday, then he stopped for lunch on the way home Sunday. He was great about making sure I had disability parking and acted like it was normal to go out with someone who had a machine on for pain the entire time and was a complete gentleman. So as far as today did my workout and ate enough to close my diary but nothing else eventful to report. Have a great Tuesda5 -

My name is Bethanie. I've been on MFP for awhile although I did take a break and go with WW for about a year. I'm a 911 dispatcher who works permanent night shift (1730-0530) in Central NC. My highest weight was 255ish and probably a little more. I've been stuck between 225-235 for about a year, back and forth on the same 10lbs. So I'm starting over for the millionth time. But definitely excited to be back on my favorite team.

Hi everyone. I’m Jackie, 58 yrs old and live in Ontario, Canada with my husband. We’ve been married 32 yrs and have 2 grown children. Both kids have been engaged for a while now but haven’t set dates yet with Covid so I need to be prepared for the possibility of them springing a last minute wedding on us.
I was 225lbs at my heaviest, lost 30 and have been bouncing around at that weight for the past 2 years. It seems I’ve hit the point where the autoimmune disorders and chronic pain are starting to pile up. I can hide fat under some baggy clothes but the health issues aren’t so easy to ignore especially the chronic inflammation. I’ve been eating mostly low carb and do well for small stretches but can’t seem to stay away from the sugar. I’ve had so many restarts it’s ridiculous. A few weeks ago I went to the movies with some friends for the first time since Covid, loaded up on junk food and ate it all. It took a week to get the feeling back in my hands and another to drop the rest of the water retention. That was a real wake up call. I decided I need to get serious and fix my body. I’m attempting to stay in ketosis for 3 months and see what happens. I feel like I’m in the mindset to stick it out this time and checking into MFP regularly should help keep me accountable.
It’s feels good to be back. Looking forward to keeping up with what everyone else is up to5 -

I hurt my lower rib on the right side doing something stupid. When I couldn't get the lid off of my water bottle, I laid over it to twist off the top and my rib popped. It's not broken or fractured just really tender making it hard to breathe and bend down. I do own an electric jar opener and I should make room on my counter for it since I've been having so much trouble getting things to open and re-opening them afterward is difficult too.
My husband said my shirts look tiny now! ♥ I did find some comfortable underwear, and now I need a smaller bra size too. Time has gone by so quickly, it just seems like 3 months ago I was buying new clothes, now I'm needing smaller clothes again. I don't regret it, because I felt good wearing my new clothes and it boosted myself image. And my husband said that's why I gave you money for new clothes. ♥ I'm sure glad he did.
Just for the record, I'm a Tea and Cold Brew coffee person. I drink equal amounts of both. But plain Iced Tea is what I reach for when I'm hungry, instead of reaching for cookies or something with sugar. I don't know if it's possible to eliminate emotional eating, I just think switching to no-calorie, low-calorie options worked for me. I still eat emotionally. But now I stay within my calorie budget on most days, and I always plan on those day's I go over so I know exactly how many extra calories I will be consuming. I had to take the guess work out of my eating habits.
We are having a heatwave 100-degree temperature so I'm staying in the cool house doing housework, reading and gaming. My new computer is being shipped out this week, I can't wait to set it up, but it's a bit scary too since it has Window's 11 Professional that I must learn.3 -

Something I could do is make post in a group and then it could open up the door to friend requests. Just need to figure out which group.0 -
@bethanie0825 Welcome back, it's great to see you with us again! You were our top stepper back in the day!
@Jactop Wow you're real sensitive to sugar too, that's what I tend to notice the biggest flare-ups with as well. I'm so glad you're back with us, I missed you! I'm curious how you do with the diet, keep us updated.
@FushiaKat I'm sorry to hear about your rib, that sounds really uncomfortable. I'm so glad to hear about your tiny shirts especially from your husband! Love you enjoying the new clothes and glad he's being awesome.
Hi gang! I worked out then went to the food bank farm, brought home a ton of basil I need to find uses for which will likely be basil cubes for later use and a lot of pesto. I went to the Old Spaghetti Factory with my brother and nephew (ate way too much) then did Walmart pickup so groceries are taken care of for the week. Not much else going on, toughing out the last few days until the pain clinic to make some medication changes, hopefully it will get me out of this flare-up. Have a great Wednesday2 -

Argh, it feels so frustratingly hard to get back on track with calorie-counting after a break. I have tried other alternatives (simply writing down what you eat, intuitive eating etc.) before, but nothing has ever worked as effectively for me. So I guess simply have to get my act back together and keep my eyes on the bigger goal. Onwards and downwards!2 -
Good morning Team! I thought I better do a quick check-in before the day gets started. I have to go up to the church to do a little work and then I'm having lunch with my bestie, who is going to be gone for a month to visit her family. I only lost .6 this week at TOPS but at least it was a loss. But I do need to be careful, which will be tough because on Friday we are having dinner out with friends and then on Saturday, there is a Sunday school picnic. But it's about balance and making wise choices when eating out and eating at home. I did start a new barre program on Beachbody and think that it's going to be a lot of fun and really challenging. Have a good day!2

Congrats to the team for getting 3rd place on the leaderboard! Special shout out to @FushiaKat, @davidji82 @Divya365 and @lindaprofota for making in the top spots!
@leti126 Welcome to the team! I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation.
@shaunarlr83 Hi and welcome! I love to hike, but don't really have a hiking partner right now. Congrats on your land purchase! Great goals.
@deevan451 Hello and welcome to the team! Great goals!
@krea4 @cybernurse251 @Jactop Congrats on the losses!
@Katmary71 I'm sorry you had an upset stomach. How is it today? I'm glad you had fun on your dates. Basil cubes are a great idea!
@bethanie0825 Great job with your steps.
@FushiaKat Congrats on the loss. Ouch about your rib! Yay for your new computer.
@tupsundus Congrats on the loss! It's difficult to get back on track after a break. What I find works for me is to get small goals: track 1 meal a day for a week, then once that is accomplished, track 2 for a week, etc. Good luck!
@TeresaW1020 Congrats on the loss! Sounds like you have some challenges coming up. What is your plan?
Hi all. I am fully back to work now. I also have been semi-tracking: I've tracked 2 meals per day for the past 3 days. Now, I need to get back to exercise!

Yesterday was a good day. I fasted 24hrs and ate a healthy dinner. Exercise was minimal but I’m happy with a nonzero day. I started helping out a cousin who does bridal alterations and we’ve been going crazy since spring. I enjoy the sewing but have to put in an effort to move more. It’s so tempting to sit on my butt all day.
@tupsundus You’re right. It is frustratingly hard to get back on track sometimes. I have the most success if I go back to baby steps. I pick one habit to stick to (for me it’s always no sugar) and keep my focus on that until I have it mastered. Other healthy habits like daily exercise stay in my peripheral vision and I keep adding new habits as I master the previous one.
@FushiaKat congrats on needing the new wardrobe. That’s quite an accomplishment.
@Katmary71 I’m sorry to hear you’re still having so much trouble with pain management but I’m always so impressed with what you manage to accomplish.
The diet is going well so far 🤞
I have a large garden so never have a shortage of veggies which is helpful. I’m expecting it to be a little more challenging when I can’t walk out my door and pick a salad. I have a motorcycle trip coming up and won’t have room to pack my own food so I’m a little nervous about that. Hopefully by then my cravings will be gone and I can stay on track

How do you like fasting? I'm considering trying it again to help with the last pounds. Great about your garden! Next year I'm going to plant lots of veggies.

Hi guys!!! When I signed up and got started I was actually out on the road. I just used my last time on the scale back at home as my weigh in weight and was planning on buying a scale to have with me out there to do my next weigh in but I ended up heading home instead.
The last time I weighed myself was actually the first week of july after a pretty good binge session and I had gained back some that I lost in June. My water weight tends to fluctuate quite a bit so this big jump up and back down is pretty normal for me.
Weigh ins will be more consistent, and less drastic here on out I just wanted to update my current weigh in. My weigh in dates will still be on mondays from here on out also!5 -
Hi Gang,
I made room on my counter for the electric jar opener today. I just could not get the lid off of the jar of salsa. It works really well and is easy to use. It's just been getting harder and harder for me to open jars.
@Katmary71 I'm really sorry you are still in a flare; I hope the pain clinic can help.4 -
@tupsundus I agree it is hard after a break counting calories again, so freeing to not have to do it! I do best with my health doing it too but wish I didn't have to.
@TeresaW1020 Congratulations on the loss! Have a great time with your bestie today. Your new challenge sounds fun! I haven't found the balance yet with eating out.
@trooworld My stomach is better, thanks for asking! I hope you do well adding exercise back in.
@Jactop Great job fasting! The sewing sounds fun, are you still working at the chocolate shop too? I was always amazed you could handle that when dieting. I'd love to see your garden sometime!
@shaunarir83 Hi there, that's a great drop!
@FushiaKat SO glad you have the electric jar opener out, jars aren't easy to open and you need to heal so it's smart to do. Thank you, I thought my pain clinic appointment was tomorrow but it's Friday so another day of toughing it out, shoot!
Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great Wednesday! Not much new here, I worked out this morning then went to Trader Joe's to get groceries, I needed olive oil and parmesan to make pesto with the basil I brought home from the food bank farm. Rest of the day has been pretty mellow, I did some reading and gardening and yard work. Have a great Thursday!5 -
@Jactop Great step counts! What a great day you had. I'm jealous of your garden.
@shaunarlr83 Congrats on the loss!
@FushiaKat That was a good idea. I can't open most jars, I have to have my husband open them. Maybe I should get an electric jar opener.
@Katmary71 Good! Thanks, I plan to do SOMETHING today. What that something is? I think it will be the Tonal but I'm not sure yet. It's going to be hot today so we'll see how this goes. Enjoy your Thursday!
Hi all. My plan is to work out on our Tonal sometime today. It may be too hot to do it, I'm not sure. I can't work out in the morning when it is cooler because that's my husband's time to work out and only one of us can work out at a time. I tracked everything yesterday, yay!

Hi everyone. I’m Gabi from hot, humid and congested Northern VA; 50 yo, office job, big kids, a dog and a cat, and I’m married.
I’ve been here for 2 years and got really complacent, so I wish for only one thing, to end the month lighter than I started it.

Hello everyone! I picked a crazy month to get started here but still determined to make the most of it.
When I first signed up life was going one direction but it’s drastically headed in another (better) direction instead.
I knew in my soul August was going to bring about great change, I thought that meant weightloss but didn’t also know that it would mean leaving my husband of 13 years.
The unplanned drive home from Arizona threw me off of my perfect month goal on day one. I stopped and hiked and burned a boatload of calories on the second day and yesterday was more about seeing my mom and giving her peace of mind that I was alright. I intended to come home and get to exercising but I instead laid down for a nap and it lasted throughout the night and half of today. Guess I needed the extra rest!
I’ve been job searching and that’s frustrating yet kind of exciting. I’m going to go for a long walk tonight! I’m still needing to get serious about logging what I eat!5 -
Had a good workout this morning which really shocked me. I usually can’t get through my whole weight routine but did 3 sets and lifted heavier weights than I usually do. I’m wondering if the extra energy means I’m burning fat for fuel (I sure hope so 🤞)
I picked some veggies from my garden today. I even tried beet greens. It was hard to wrap my head around eating something that I’ve always considered compost but they weren’t totally terrible.
2 -
@shaunalr83 Sounds like you're making some major changes, I'm glad they're for the better! Yes it does sound like you needed the rest, hope something comes in soon for the job searching. Enjoy that long walk!
@trooworld Did you get to do the tonal? Does your husband use it too?
@Jactop Nice I've heard of really good workouts once burning fat, I hope that's the case but whatever it is congratulations on heavier weights! I don't think I've tried beet greens but I don't care for beets much so don't know if I'd like them, I like most other greens though. Glad they weren't terrible!
Hi everyone, hope you had an amazing Thursday! I slept in late and felt behind this morning but got my workout in, first time getting back to legs with weights since I was flared up and it felt good. The rest of the day was mellow, made a bunch of pesto then went to the charity meeting at a brewery in the next town which was fun. Not much else going on, tomorrow's the pain clinic appointment and I'm not sure what I want to ask for, I'm starting to think I wasn't sleeping because I made myself so nervous about going on my first date in 25 years, I'll see how I sleep tonight. Have a great Friday!2 -
Went for a 4 mile walk this evening! Used two water bottles the first mile and did bicep curls and Tricep presses and then drank the water over the next 3 miles!6

Hi Slims
I'm Lisa. Live in FL. Married. Young adult kids- 1 lives here, 1 doesn't. Been in this group for a couple of years and love it. Recently went back to work full time- been working part time for over 20 years, so it's a big change for me.
Work has been crazy this week and I have to work again this weekend. My daughter visited and that means I make more "fun" meals. Between the 2, my eating was not good this week and I am surprised I had the small loss I did.
Daughter brought home a 9 week old kitten she is babysitting. I'm not a cat person, but that thing was so stinking cute and definitely lightened the mood after the tough week at work.
