Karen, you guys all look great! And like you are having a ball!! Have fun!
Well, our house has the gurgles again...OMG! The plumber guy is coming out in a bit. It started yesterday. It gurgled when the washing machine was emptying...it gurgled the last time when the washing machine was just about done. I think maybe there is a link... :o We'll see...maybe.
On the other total mess-up from yesterday...Last week I tried to set up appt to get my Shingles and Meningococcal Vaccines. Ended up I had to go thru the Doc's office...Nurse set up a 2:15 appt for me...I made a mistake and had to change it...called the phone number she called me on...the guy I talked to could not find any appts AT ALL!!...he put in a msg to my doc...she called me back in 15 mins...I got a 4:00 appt. HOWEVER...turns out the Doc needed to put in an order for me to get the Meningococcal shot...CRIMENY! The Shot Nurse sent my Doc a msg but no reply while I was there, so she set up an appt for next Monday at 4:00. I also sent my Doctor's nurse a msg when I got home. EGADS MAN!!!
I DO NOT LIKE DOCTORS...NURSES...HOSPITALS...SHOTS...and now I have to go in again...ugh! :s
    So that was my day.

Chris - goodness what a hassle to get the shots! Hopefully you can get them soon and be done with it!

I also need to get the shingles shot for the first time....for the covid booster, but will get the flu shot when I get home. So many shots lol!

We had such a fun day yesterday on the cruise. We were in Port at Kings Warf, Bermuda. The weather was spotty and a bit rainy....but that didn't stop us from having a great time. Shopping, dancing, a fabulous dinner at the specialty steakhouse, trivia....you name it. I did 30 mins on the elliptical yesterday morning and walked my tail off. I got 20,000 steps yesterday....I can't remember the last time I had that many! Maybe hiking the Grand Canyon.

I'm going to go out in a bit and do a quick workout before we head to my favorite location...Horseshoe Bay Beach...so beautiful and should be a great beach day.

Hope you all have a great one!

Looks fabulous, Karen. But the elliptical sounds killer. I tried one once for just a few minutes and it was a shockingly amazing workout. More power to you!

Chris, all my sympathy. Bureaucracies are the pits!!

Kathy, sending you and your Mom wishes for strength and peace. Such a hard time to go through. <3<3

Loving your photos Karen. The ship looks wonderful.

The service for my Dad is Saturday. Will be happy when this is over. Funeral planning is absolutely awful. And the cost is ridiculous! We will get through!

Yes, you will, Kathy. My heart goes out to you and your family. It's so hard.
So, The Doc's office finally got back to me after a ton of emails and a load of talking to the Customer Service line which was not helpful at all!! Actually, the male nurse who got back to me I thought no longer worked for my Doctor. Man, I was so glad when I answered the phone and it was him!! And he even sent me an email telling me the vaccine had been ordered!! The two female nurses I dealt with did neither. :s
Well, the gurgle turned out to be a broken pipe. The Gurgle Guys fixed it today, and we are waiting for approval from the city(?) which should come tomorrow. Then they can push the mound of dirt back in the hole they dug. UGH!!
I did spend 60 mins w/my trainer this afternoon and caught her up on everything! :D

Kathy - sending you strength to get through the funeral planning process. It really is so hard ;(

Chris - glad the great gurgle caper has been solved! Oh my! Hope for a quick delivery for your shots! I plan on getting my flu shot the weekend I am home. Hearing it will be a nasty flu season.

Paula - I love the elliptical....I left knee gives me some heart burn every once in a while, and it is much more mild for me rather than walking....my husband doesn't like it much for his bad knee. Did I mention he's getting a knee replacement on November 8th? His joints are a mess....2 hips now a knee. I hear knees can be a rough recovery let's see.

We had a great day in Bermuda yesterday at Horseshoe Bay Beach....couldn't have been more beautiful...the water was so clear and blue! Loved it. Got some good sleep last night...8 hours. The last 2 nights not so much. I'm not used to being up so late lol!

    Some pics from yesterday...

Karen, I heard the hips are easier than knees too. I had the knee replacement. They have you walking before you leave the hospital; but it takes a few months to start feeling normal again; and a year before you forget about it. But then... it is so wonderful to have a good knee again. Best wishes.

Beautiful pictures, Karen! Good thoughts for your husband and his knee.
No walking for me today. Needed to pick up our vacuum that we needed the switch fixed. Pat dropped it off and told me all the stuff the guy had in his shop. Sewing machines everywhere. I had to go see. I worked for Singer Company back in the 60's. We sold fabric, patterns, sewing machines, vacuum cleaners. Repaired the machines. I had a 401 slant needle sewing machine. No new slant needles for anybody these days. It was a great machine. I blew it up big time. Got something new...hated it. I don't sew any more.
Then we went and checked out lava rock. We'll be having the bark raked up and lava rock put down. Hopefully, the cats will stay away!!! Story is, they don't like walking on it and can't dig into it to bury their poop. I hope it works.
The Gurgling Pipe is complete. Don't know if Pat is happy yet. Will keep you informed.

60 mins w/my trainer this afternoon. I seem to have caught Ronan's cold. Funny...I'm the only one...so far...who caught it. Throat burns. Don't know about walking in the morning. It will depend on how I'm feeling.

Been up since 4:32. Today is the day of my father’s funeral. I’m glad it’s finally here. It’s time for him to Rest In Peace. He was the strongest man I know and the best father. We will celebrate his life today,

Send me strength my friends to get through this day.

Still not feeling good. No walking for me.
We are going to put new flowers and different heroes on Nick's niche today. It's been 12 years since we said Good Bye. Miss him every day. Cancer sucks big time.

    Morning ladies.

Thanks for the support. Now it’s time to get use to our new normal. Life without my father. The service was just what we wanted. We said goodbye to Dad surrounded by family and friends. My mom held up well until we got to the cemetery but we were able to hold her up and guve her strength.

My mom’s sister from Buffalo is staying here with us for the next week or so. Her presence has really helped. I’m up this morning headed to the dealership for car maintenance . So yes life goes on. Now it’s time to figure out how to add self care and fitness back to my life while also taking care of mom..

Kathy - So glad the funeral was a beautiful celebration of your Dad. I hope you are getting some self care in...this has been a lot on you.

Well back to reality. The cruise couldn't have been more wonderful. Exceeded my expectations 10x over. Lots of laughing. I ate and drank entirely too much....but I did work out daily and walked miles. Back to tracking food and 20 hour fasting. I have no idea what the scale says, although I did step on it and let it write to the app I use. I'll look on Friday when I get rid of a few pounds ;) well worth it though!

Back to work too...another day in paradise!

Kathy, glad everything went well at your father's funeral.
I did a 60 min workout w/my trainer today. MUST WALK TOMORROW!!! The Walking Gods are hammering at my window...I don't want to anger them so I gotta get out there! :#

Yeah, well, I got out there...about .60 miles from home and tripped AGAIN!! Face planted and scraped my face and hand and knees after kicking a raised block of sidewalk. Got a bruise where the bottom of my water jug got me. There was a gentleman at the park who helped me get up. I just turned around and came home. Sooo mad!! I've had worse, but still...
I need to take some red spray paint with me and mark all the places folks need to be careful of and that the City needs to fix. I'd probably get arrested tho...

    Chris,

They're called "Trip Hazards" and it's good to make the City aware. You can place a "complaint" (they probably have a standard form to fill out) and ask them to let you know what their plans are. They'll be glad you let them know about it and didn't sue them.

    Hope you're okay!

Chris - oh no! Hope you are ok...they really need to fix that!

I just did a 30 minute walk while Bella is at her nutritionist. It is freezing up here. 52゚. Got a little cold here after getting home from vacation. I've taken 3 covid tests and they are all negative. So hopefully all is well. I really don't feel bad.

I've been super on track with my eating and drinking since I've been home. Plan on doing a dry month as much as possible to get myself in gear. And of course eating better :)

I do have to travel next week for work Sunday through Wednesday, but I intend to eat fish everyday lol :)

    Happy Wednesday!

    Beautiful pictures, Karen!
Well, I am black and blue BIG TIME across my nose. Getting black and blue eyes now. I am fine except I can't look at myself in the mirror!
I'm going to walk today. Going to the post office. Will pass my tripping spot and cuss at it loudly! I can't let this stop me from walking.

    Hey Karen,

I splurged and got the Hoka One - they had 5 stars from everyone. Love them. But they're pricy ($230). I paid more for excellent shoes that are good for my feet (and balance) and will last - instead of cheap shoes that hurt my feet and need to be replaced often.

I have 3 pairs of Hokas now. The only shoes I wear to workout at the gym or to walk. I have others but wear Hokas consistently. My sketchers and New balance are for casual wear.
