A local nonprofit took some of us seniors to FiLoLi (a mansion/garden - now an historic preserve) where we walked/strolled for 3-4 hours. Despite that workout, my weight is still bouncing in the 200's.

Too bad we can't all stick our feet in a circle for a Hoka-selfie. :p One of these years...

Well I weighed myself after I got back from the cruise but I didn't look :) weighed myself Friday (and looked) and much to my delight, I had lost the "7lbs" I gained on the cruise and a pound:) I ate what I wanted within reason on the cruise, and drank like a fish. But I think it was really the amount of salt in the food that tipped the scale. Started back on Monday to the 20-4 daily fasting....

I'm feeling pretty motivated right now to get down to 165 by the end of the year which I think is a really good place for me. Wi will be leaving for a trip to Canada in a few hours through Wednesday. Plan on keeping it really tight and no alcohol! What a slippery slope for me.

Hi ladies, sorry for the long absence.

Kathy the funeral sounds like it was a beautiful close to a wonderful mans life. Though I am sure he will be thought of often. Sending you virtual hugs. And you are so correct. Life still carries on. Keep active and take your mom out often.

Chris I want a photo of you with a can of paint. You have to do it. Someone has done it on my favorite path. I so appreciate it. Sorry you were injured.

Karen love all the photos. I never thought of a scale that you don't have to see what it says until later. Interesting. So glad you had a great time.

I joined the YMCA. And closed up the cabin totally. But injured my back lifting a large piece of wood. So I have not been able to go to the Y for a few evenings. Back at it tomorrow.

And the YMCA is super cheap for me. Since Rocky is a retired veteran they have a special rate for him. So our membership is only $26 a month. For both! I bought a years worth.

Back from my work trip to Canada. I went to onboarf my new leader...so far so good! Glad to be home. Hope this is the last work travel of the year. With Jim getting a new knee on 11/9, I'll have a lot of heavy lifting over the next few months.

Shelley - good for you for joining the Y! The positive energy of others around can be so motivating!

Chris - you must post pictures of your butterfly costume. Sounds so pretty! I need to get candy! I've been behind on Halloween with all of the travel.

Paula - glad it was a smaller earthquake. I'm sure you've seen many...yikes! How many cats do you have?

Kathy - continued prayers and healing energy to you and your family...

So I have a rule I try to live by when I travel...I eat fish as much as possible..and it worked. I packed gym clothes, but with a 4 day trip, I had so much packed on that I couldn't motivate myself to do it...but all good.

I went to two classes tonight. One was a type of yoga. Very low keyed. Ok kind of boring. Then a class with lots of energy. Called Pound. It was rather fun. More cardio and squats than weight. You use drum sticks! I am a drummer now beating to my own pace.

Shelley...really thinking about the paint thing. Walked past the spot yesterday and I cussed really loud at it...then looked down at the playground and saw the moms with their hands over their little girls ears. I just smiled at them. :# Hope you like the Y. Keep us posted, please.
Karen...maybe a butterfly picture...we'll just have to see. Glad you liked your trip.
Worked out w/my trainer this afternoon for 60 mins. Did 7.38 miles in 127 mins yesterday.
Our weather has turned cold, and it's so dark, so early these days...sigh...
    21 more day until Collin's arrival...getting close.

21 days, that is like now! Wow Chris. Do buy a small can of spray paint. Florescent, or glow in the dark for the gloomy days. I am so sure those kids have heard worse. o:) Small can so you can put it in your pocket. :*

Busy court today. No exercise. Tomorrow is body pump and planting daffodils on the mountain.

Shelley, I did order two small cans of paint. Couldn't find florescent or glow in the dark, but I got red and orange. We'll just have to see if they work.
Walked w/Patrick this morning...3.04 miles in 66 mins then we went to Sara's to paint and carve pumpkins. So fun!

Chris so glad you got some paint. There are walk/bike paths here that get painted. Not even sure who did it. Stay safe and be like a Ninja. We have not carved a pumpkin in years. Sounds fun.

Only did half an hour of Body Pump. Had to plant my daffodils. Ran into a friend who was looking at mountain property. $125,000 for 7.5 acres. Only land. Summer use only. No water or electricity. But the view is fantastic. The road is really rough. I would pass.

Public Works paints and documents travel sites that need repair. Shelley, that's probably what you've seen on your favorite path.

Chris, You should probably check before adding your own markings. What you're doing is kinda vigilante - well-meaning but maybe messing things up. I looked up their website and googled "sidewalk" and got this: https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/Search?searchPhrase=sidewalk - It might be interesting?

Got my flu and shingles shot on Saturday....took it easy this weekend. Helped Bella a lot with catching up on homework. Still working on getting them back in the school groove. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

    Happy Halloween!

Oakley got back to me today!! Said they would look into it, and if I wanted to make a claim gave me the number to call. Don't want to make a claim just want the sidewalk fixed. Sent back that msg.
Saw my trainer for 60 mins today.

Paula I hope they can help the walkers stay safe. And quickly. I don't think that is what I have seen though. It has been like that for more than a few years. One spot is actually caused by a tree. It has humped the pathway up over a foot. No exaggeration on my part. Crazy.

    Chris do keep us posted.

Karen I hated helping Robert with his homework. He just refused to do it. Very frustrating.

I handed out candy tonight. And of course Libby My was the star. She loved the kids.

A horrible month in so many ways. Too many snacks and not enough exercise. I hope to get it together soon or I’m going to be over 180 again instead of out of the 170s. I will work something out with my niece to stay with mom at least 3 days a week will I go to the gym. I can’t leave her alone. Then I will have to exercise at least 1-2 additional days at home.
